Jim Coleman service today was not good. I feel they ve made some changes in the service department & I don t trust Jim Coleman service anymore. It s a shame because going to the mall while getting my vehicle serviced used to be a good experience. Today a service manager seemed to discriminate against me. They must be under new management.

Took my 2005 Prius in for service on Saturday. Had the normal 5,000 mile maintenance done (included in the service plan we previously purchased) even though we haven't driven it anywhere close to 5,000 miles since the last check-up, and agreed to have all four tires replaced - we had expected something would be needed on the tires, as two of them had been getting a bit low recently. We got the car back with a clean bill of health, and my pregnant wife, two year old daughter, and myself were three blocks away from the service center when it literally BROKE DOWN. The car drove fine for a block, then suddenly felt like it was stuck in first gear - couldn't get it above ~17mph. I pumped the gas pedal and it kicked back in for a moment, then stopped working again, and as I turned around to get back to the service center the engine completely stopped working. The car wouldn't even turn off, until the battery died a few minutes later. We're just lucky we weren't trying to merge onto the highway when it happened - we could have been killed if the accelerator caught like that for a moment and then stopped. No idea what the mechanics did to it, but what really enrages me is that they tried to claim it was a coincidence! After getting a tow and waiting for two days, they told me tests showed it was a sudden failure of the hybrid battery, and nothing they did could have possibly caused that, and we'd have to pay $3,000 to replace the battery and get our car back.Look, it's a 19 year old car - stuff happens. What DOESN'T happen is a complete breakdown in a car that has never broken down before that coincidentally occurs 30 seconds after getting the car back from a service appointment that gave it a clean bill of health. Anybody looking at this situation for even four seconds will understand that this wasn't a coincidence - the mechanics screwed something up and lied about it.This isn't even the first time Jim Coleman has done something like this - last time, we had a headlight casing replaced and the headlight stopped working as we left the Jim Coleman parking lot. They told me it must have been a coincidence (there's that word again!) that a 10+ year old headlight just happened to "burn out" within moments of the whole unit being taken out and put back in with a new part by their mechanics. I didn't fight them that time because they agreed to replace the bulb for free, but it was still inconvenient and, frankly, insulting that they thought I'd believe that. Now the mechanics are swearing again that this must be a coincidence, that a car that has run well for nearly two decades suddenly broke down for the first time ever mere seconds after they released it to my custody. They even had the audacity to offer me a compromise, to charge me "just" $1500 to fix whatever it was they did to my car, after endangering my family's lives! The service manager even asked me what I thought the mechanics had done to it, in a voice suggesting he thought I was being silly, before also unhappily asking me what would make it right. Not sure I should have needed to specify, but I explained that I just want my car back in the condition it was before Jim Coleman junked it, and he said okay. Will update if/when they actually make it right. Obviously, a little more than just "here's your car, it drives again" is going to be necessary to keep me as a customer.

Brought car in for routine service. Picked it up and a/c was not working. Worked just fine before the service. I suspect they did something (intentional or accidental), but no acknowledgement of fault at all. Brought it back to see their assessment. Was told condenser had a leak. Was quoted $1k price plus 15% discount. Agreed based on that price. When work was done, was told price is $1.4k plus 15% discount (along with another story about things being less expensive than expected, whatever that means). I told service advisor that is not what he told me the day before, which I wrote down and communicated to the wife. He told me I was wrong, and told me I didn't know what I was talking about. Will not return. ALWAYS GET WRITTEN QUOTES. Otherwise this nonsense happens. I also emailed the manager, but no response. I lost all trust in this dealership.

This place makes it clear why retail is dying and everyone buys online. Parts department closes at 4. I show up at 3:50 to buy wiper blades. I walk to my car in parking lot and realize they are the wrong ones. By the time I walk back to the parts shop it s closed. Every other counter is open. I ask if someone can help me. No one can. They can t even return the blades I bought. They all are sitting in front of computers and have mobile devices. Even the manager couldn t do anything. I get it I walked in close to closing. But come on - not a single person can help? And you are telling me not a single person in the part shop is there at 4:02 pm? Never. Go. Here.

I had a really great experience with Andy at the Jim Coleman Toyota Service Center. I got a flat tire about a block from the shopping center and limped into the service station in my Ford filled with three young kids. Andy had me out of there in an hour after putting on my spare tire at no cost. He saved the day.Service: TiresService: Tires

When I picked up the car there was cigarette smell in it, which the service rep. acknowledged. His response was that if the smell won t go away I should come back and they would get rid of it.Is it too much to expect not to have cigarette smell in my car after it is being repaired???Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic

I recently had a great service experience at Jim Coleman Toyota. Tyler Thurston was the ultimate professional. My son's car had to be towed here. This is not my regular Toyota service center, but it was the closest one to my son's work. So I was hesitant to take the car there at first. I was so impressed with Tyler that I had to write this review. He was very patient while I asked many questions. He helped me find a nearby towing company and the car was towed within an hour. He went over all the options and the testing that needed to done and kept me informed numerous times throughout the day. It is so great to know that I can count on another Toyota dealership for excellent customer service. Thank you Tyler!

My AC needed to be replaced but they sprayed the car with a horrible smelling substance which left the car undriveable for weeks in September 2021. When the perfectly mentaind car was returned to me the GPS had been damaged and no longer worked. Since then it has been a back and forth of empty promises, quick attempts to fix it and a lot of excuses.I have relied on J. Coleman from the initial purchase to now for all service and have been a loyal customer for many years, pleased with their service, even had a new GPS put in years ago when the original failed, but am very disturbed by the fact that they ruined something which is an extremely important part and have told me, after a year of stalling, that they can't do anything about it. The car is perfect otherwise until they ruined an essential part.I have relied on JC for over two decades and liked dealing with nice employees, but after months of dealing with a car which was damaged in their shop and which they now say can not be fixed, I feel obligated to share my experience.,,Teveral weeks while theServices: Auto A/C replacement, A/C installation & repair

After Jim Coleman Toyota service checked my car, they told me that my front caliper was sticking to the rotors and I needed front brake service to resurface the rotors and replace the pads. I decided not to do it on that day. Three days later I took the same car to AAA Car Care and after they inspected the brakes, they said your caliper is not sticking and your pads are still good and you don't need front brake service for another 10-15K miles. I felt Toyota was not telling me the truth and wanted me to do a service I did not need to do. AAA had no reason to not do work on my car, but they were honest. So, I will no longer have service done at Jim Coleman Toyota service since they were not honest with me.Service: Auto maintenance

I was clearly warned but wanted to form my opinion. I was told the recommendation by Nissan but asked them to do multipoint inspection first and then let me know so that I can determine what should be done. After an hour I realized no one came to tell me anything so I asked. Guess what they began work without speaking with me first. To make it worse offering me $250 discount and a free oil change after I complained that most dealerships talk to the customer first and then start the work. Will never return. Wasn t looking for a handout just wanted some form of honesty and build a new car service relationship. So beware. I appreciate the gentleman who helped . He know who he is but thanks and no thanksService: General repairs & maintenance

I've been here 3 times for repairs to my Prius (people keep stealing the catalytic converter). The staff communicate well and they complete repairs promptly. I recommend them for servicing your Toyota.

I am the owner of Anywhere Headlight Restoration LLC and a customer had me service his Porsche at the Jim Coleman Bethesda location, I must admit I was a little apprehensive about it because some dealerships don't like people doing business at their establishment especially when it was not solicited by them... The atmosphere though was amazing, the experience started with the lot attendant from Ghana who showed me where to go, to the service writer's who treated me like a human being and ended with the service manager who not only found a convenient place for me to work but asked about my business and told me he liked how the headlights on the Porsche came out. I have to admit, that meant a lot.. Thanks y'all

I was helped by Luis Romero and Adam Carter. These guys worked so seamlessly it was amazing. I am not the easiest customer to have to serve but these guys understood not only my wants and needs but also took into account my concerns with cost. They ensured that i got everything I wanted and stayed within my budget. Thanks guys!

The saleswoman got very upset that she couldn't close the deal. The dealership doesn't know why the credit unions are reporting things the way they are. There manager was also very rude because he was confused over the situation and took it out on me asking me questions like if I'm the CEO of the credit unions.

I am going to update my previous review below after two great experiences over the past week. My wife recently got a punctured tire about 20 minutes from the dealership. She called AAA. They came after about an hour or so and were unable to find the wheel locks although they were right where they are supposed to be next to the jack in the trunk. Triple A decided to leave my wife stranded since she couldn't find wheel locks. Jim Coleman sent two service team members to the garage she was in with a master key and changed her tire. AAdditionally after posting the review below Patrick Coleman reached out to me and asked my advice on things they could do to improve. I am not sure if anything will come of this in the near term but his response and consideration were well received. They never really seem to know what they are doing and they take absolutely no interest in you. I suppose the work is adequate but they are always confused and seem lost.

I recently got an estimate from Jim Coleman Toyota to repair/repaint my rear bumper. Since my my bumper was hit while my car was parked, and whoever did it didn't bother to leave their info, I had to pay a deductible, so I shopped around. They gave me an estimate for $640.92. I got the same job done at Ourisman Collision Center in Bethesda for $405.34. A similar thing happened when I was shopping around for new tires. This facility is very expensive, so you better shop around before you go there!

I purchased a Preowned Toyota RAV4 Hybrid LE in January. I worked with Jode L Redd, who was very well-prepared and had the vehicle set aside and ready for me to test drive it. The financing group was also helpful. I would recommend them again.

Got an estimate for a repair. After the repair, they charged a lot more than the estimate. They simply said, well "it was an estimate." They did a lot of work I did not request and did not even call me to authorize it.

This location has things within walking distance, which is great because even with an appointment, service is definitely on the slower side. Employees are friendly enough..pricing is dealer typical
