Went to this mechanic for a starter replacement. They looked at the car (did not charge me for this, which was amazing) and told me my battery was also completely done for and would need to be replaced. Throughout most of the interaction it seemed as though this was a fair, reasonable, and very courteous shop. However, once we got to the cost, I was told it would cost about $1000 for the parts and 2 hrs of labor... Now, I'm no mechanic, but $1k for a starter/battery replacement on a 17 year old car sounded ridiculous. After inquiring further, I was told the starter was gonna run almost $500. Not the starter+labor, just the PART... I initially came to this shop because reviews raved about fair pricing so I was genuinely taken aback...Nonetheless, I left to do my own research, as I always do, and found a brand new starter for $130 on rockauto (the most expensive, brand new starter, was 389.99. still $100 less than what I was quoted at the shop). So, I grabbed a new battery and opened up youtube. I followed a tutorial and was able to complete the repair myself in a day (4 hours of work w/ a socket wrench, breaker bar, and 2 sets of pliers), for a grand total of $330.I wouldn't say this shop is bad, in fact I would say they know their trade well. But when it comes do choosing to get work done here, definitely do your own research, and get other estimates.

It s hard to find places that actually want to take care of your car and I found it. If you want fast and great service come here ASAP. I came into get my car looked at for a loud sound expecting a high price but I was mistaken. GREAT CUSTOMER service and professionalism.

I would recommend to everyone who was is seach of good, prompt service, fair pricing and professionalism, Mid Atlantic, is where you want to go. Years ago the owner Randy, exhibited all the above characteristics, and I remembered that and it brought me back to Mid Atlantic. Thank you for not changing, it stayed with me all these years.

These guys are hands down the best mechanics in Baltimore. They are service oriented, honest, fairly priced, and do great work. I try to recommend them to everyone I know because having a good mechanic just makes life so much easier. Never take your car anywhere else!

Needed new mufflers and mid pipe on my Lexus. They diagnosed the car within 2 min of my arrival and then blinked the fix ready. Standup crew. Trustworthy. Thanks!

Excellent service!! Randy, Chris and staff are great, very knowledgeable and never do unnecessary repairs, if it's something that they don't do you can be sure that the referral will be correct for your needAll of my family rely on them for their car care. Highly recommend Mid-Atlantic.

I stopped here today after doing a bit of research. The reviews were great and I can see why. I took my SUV in because it started making that oh so familiar sound like something was wrong with the muffler. I was told what the issue was after about a 10 minute inspection. The shop owner said it would take about an hr to an hr and a half to fix...but not even 45 minutes later I was in and out. My truck is so quiet and im so happy. Thank you so much for your amazing customer service. I highly recommend. The price was also very reasonable.

Brother Chris took great care of my RX8 and is very knowledgeable about his craft!!! Fixed my muffler situation in less than an hour and the work is very good and reasonably priced... Go get ya vehicle fixed here, they'll take good care of ya!!!

Husband took his '06 Corolla in after his car sounded like it was trying to open the gates of hell. They were able to take his car in day of, fixed his exhaust in less than an hour, and charged an incredibly reasonable price. Other place was trying to charge him for a full exhaust system replacement. Highly recommend.Service: ExhaustService: Exhaust

Mid-Atlantic is awesome! I needed a lot of repairs done for inspection including custom exhaust work, engine mounts, brakes and came here just after 8 on a Tuesday morning. They took it right in and could handle most of the repairs (except new tires). Their prices were great and they even secured my front bumper for no cost - don't know how they did it but they did an awesome job. Chris was great and very communicative throughout the day. All told I had $850 worth of work done, another estimate I had gotten the day before told me it would be twice that for them.Services: Exhaust, General repairs & maintenance, Body & Trim, Brakes

These guys were great! Needed exhaust, suspension and brake work done and thought it would be a couple days but they finished it all in 1 day. Employees were nice & helpful. Explained what was up and what my options were & worked with me to drop off my car after hours. Will update in a month if my car suddenly falls apart, but I don't think it will. Definitely seems like a trustworthy shop.

I stopped in there on 6/8/22 and met with the owner he was very respectable, and they are professional and do a great job from mechanical to exhaust on your vehicles, only using the best parts and make sure everything is installed 100 percent correctly. And that's a lot for how most of these repair shops are nowadays. So if your having any issues with your vehicle I recommend stopping in and having them take a look.

One of the best experiences I've had with an auto shop! They walked me threw the whole process of replacing my exhaust system. They contacted me during all the work that was done. The Finished product was was far better then I expected. The sound of exhaust was unbelievable. The power from new exhaust is unbelievable! Thank you Mid-Atlantic! Thank u Chris and Randy! Like the terminator said I'LL BE BACK!

Excellent service. I 1st became a customer over 30 years ago when Randy (Father) was on duty full time. They were highly recommended by my son's Great-Uncle. Myself and several other family members rely on these guys for all of our car care. I was delighted to see Chris (son) move to the forefront and continue on. If you (especially ladies) want excellent, honest, reliable & affordable auto care with top notch customer service, please see them asap. You will not want to ever go anywhere else....

This place was genuinely recommended to me with high marks and I read the reviews. So here is my review. First of all I was greeted with a happy good morning. I say that because we all have to wear mask now but I could tell it was sincere. My son had to get some work done on his car and the results were good. It didn t take long and they fixed another problem just because. Mind you I had already paid. SO I HIGHLY RECOMMEND MID-ATLANTIC MUFFLER & BRAKE. JULY 13, 2020

Friendly, knowledgeable, and skilled staff. They provided truthful cost saving advice to resolve an issue that other auto places didn't but wanted me to spend a bunch of $$$ unnecessarily. I strongly recommend even if just for advice and estimate, you'll likely do business with them over others. Work was done in less than an hour, the error codes are gone and my truck rides & sounds like new again...much appreciation!!!

Came in with a suspected exhaust leak (noise, acceleration felt off, etc.). Had it diagnosed and fixed in under an hour for a price I thought was fair. Would recommend.Update: Visited multiple times due to positive first experience. You're in and out very quickly if you arrive when they first open.

Fast service, with great prices and staff. Took my car in and was out of there by 0930. Word to the wise though, they do first come first serve rather than appointments, so if you plan to wait, it's best to show up at 0745 if you want to be in and out as fast as possible. Highly recommend Mid-Atlantic!

After being burned by another auto shop, Randy and the team at Mid-Atlantic truly saved the day. Fair, honest, speedy and knowledgeable -- I'd highly recommend this establishment! I found out about them from a colleague of mine who has been going here for years, and I am SO grateful I gave it a try! I really trust them with my car.

I cannot speaking highly enough about this place. I was having some starting issue a few months after getting a new battery from a different shop. A friend recommended this place. They diagnosed the problem and told me how to go back to the previous service center to get the issue repaired under warranty. I was not charged anything for the inspection, but Mid-Atlantic Muffler and Brake has gained a life-long customer. 6/5 stars!Service: Electrical

It would be hard to find a more honest and competent mechanic. A small, private shop, using it requires more effort/planning than the corporate or bigger places, as hours are limited to 8 - 5 weekdays and appointments are not accepted. Yet it's so worth it! Nice people, fair prices, no worries about being oversold on unneeded repairs.
