I took my car up to get the battery replaced. The person at the desk asked me the make and model and selected the battery. They replaced my battery, but didn t seem to know what they were doing. When they finally replaced it, they asked for me to start the car and it wouldn t work - my keys were stuck in the ignition. Instead of acknowledging that maybe they didn t hook up the battery properly, they tried to blame it on my car keys. One of them attempted to do a dry turn with my wheel while twisting the keys to get it out. They ended giving up and abandoning me with my car. When I went in to complain, they told me they could replace my old battery and return it. I asked for them to do so, but when it was replaced the manager refused the return as it would make him look bad . Finally I gave up, called for someone to jump me since they refused and got my car started with my old battery. When the car started, the Service Power Steering light came on, so they likely damaged my power steering during this failure of a battery replacement. Now I m stuck with this battery that doesn t work for my car and a damaged vehicle that needs serviced

I came here last night to have my battery tested and possibly replaced as I needed a couple jumps earlier that day. It was roughly 5:30 and starting to get dark which does come into play later.I waited shortly to be helped as other cars were already being serviced. The wait was not bad at all. The woman who first greeted me (who, by the way seemed to be absolutely thrilled to be working there [sarcasm]) grabbed a tester and walked out to my car with me. She hooked up the cables and wiped off the battery in search of some sort of code. Whatever she was looking for was being blocked by the factory-installed battery lock/strap thing, pictured. She said she couldn't test the battery without that code so I asked if they could simply remove said fastener. She declined. I asked if I remove it, would they be able to? Sure. I didn't have my tool set on me. I asked if I could borrow a wrench to unscrew ONE nut. She said they cannot loan out tools to avoid theft - this I understand and am okay with. What boggles my mind is that she simply refused to remove it herself and therefore could not help me. She walked back inside. Luckily, my car started and I left.I immediately called another location of Advance Auto Parts that is less than two miles away and asked about having a battery tested/replaced. This time, I even said that the battery had some sort of "lock/strap" holding it in place (I am still not sure what it is technically called). I asked if they would still look at it with that on it. The gentleman said that they could absolutely look at it but that their location (Greenmount Ave) does not do any work on cars outside after dark, so he welcomed me to come first thing in the morning. This is another policy that I can 100% understand and agree with. If the Maryland Ave location has this same policy and the woman said this, I would not have been upset at all with the fact that I would have to wait to replace the battery. But she did not say this. She said she could not remove the lock.Come morning, after clearing out my garage to put my car in it so it would be relatively warmer than leaving it outside, the car again did not start. I would have taken the other location up on their offer but instead I was forced to call AAA. I asked the technician that came out about the lock thing and he said he saw absolutely no reason why someone would refuse to take it off. I am glad I was able to give AAA my business this morning rather than [this particular location of] Advance Auto Parts.

They were close. Ok I'm so sorry for that review. We came to Advance Auto Parts after we stopped at Standard who was closed. I'm so sorry for the confusion. I deal with your company quite a bit. That was a rushing mistake.

It was quick. When in, staff greeted me, and assisted me. Short wait, the staff team member return with my online pickup items and I was out. Five minutes tops. Not bad at all. Be back soon.

I understand some people have bad experiences, but in my case, this location has excellent staff. I have gone here multiple times and everyone is respectful. In person, I am taken care of. I have made two online purchases and they were ready for pickup when I arrived. I even had to return one of the items I bought online cause I purchased the wrong thing and I had no issue. I was having car issues and called this location and the guy told me what was wrong and invited me to the store, showed me the part which I bought, and spent less than a few minutes putting it in for me. The fix helped my car battery not drain. Excellent people and this location will be my go to store.

While some of the staff are good, the manager does not have customer service in mind. I was told by her I would need to wait to have my battery checked today, due to a policy where only one staff person can be out of the store at a time.Fine, all good. I watch the staff member finish the car he is working on outside, then the manager goes outside (2 staff outside) and stops him from moving on to my car (I am next in line). They proceed to have a nice chat, smoke a couple of cigarettes and generally just chill. Now been waiting around 20 minutes, watching them take a break. Inside the store there are three staff hanging out as well. 5 People doing nothing, and I am waiting for what? What a waste of my lunch break.Thankfully there is a FireStone store right across the street: Great service, better pricing. IF YOU NEED A BATTERY, CONSIDER ALTERNATIVES.

Really friendly and helpful staff! I came in with what I suspected was a dead car battery. Tina and Billy were so helpful in testing the battery and confirming it needed to be replaced, working with me to get the best possible deal, and installing the new battery. I will be back the next time I need anything for my car. Thanks, Tina and Billy!

Super cool and knowledgeable staff. If they dont have it on display you can ask someone and they most likely have it in the back. They have a lot of car cleaning and detailing products here too. This location also stocks Bosch Icon wiper blades, which I had trouble tracking down at other stores.

I would give this place no stars if I could . Highly unprofessional, rude , the whole staff needs customer services training . Got hung up in because they want to cover their tracks. In my opinion this location needs a completely different and properly trained staff .

I love Advance. Screw Auto Zone. Advance is helpful. AutoZone screws over their customers by selling things that aren't in stock and not telling you that they aren't in stock. Advance is cool! This place usually has stuff in stock and the staff is always super helpful. I've probably been to this sure over 100 times for various products. A+

I just left there to get my battery recharge and the manage David puts it on a counter top tester and said it won't charge need a new battery. I know it's a few months old and took it to another advance auto and they charged it and then put it on that same tester and it was good to go.So watch our for AS TACTICS to get you to purchase a new battery

Employees were extremely unprofessional, dropping the f word every other second, no masks, attended to other customers and essentially ignored me until I asked twice for my online order which should ve been ready when I got there, was met with an attitude when I asked nicely for them to please grab my order a second time.

Ms. Ayanna was a great help . There is nothing like someone who likes their job and appreciates the customer . We had a terrible experience at the Greenmount location after calling before and AFTER we paid online about a part . We drove all the way there and they didn t have it . But Ms. Ayanna made us fell like we were in a total different world and we are grateful for that .

I know many auto parts stores in the city get a bad rap for poor customer service long waits and rude employees. The staff at this store are very helpful and usually are staffed up so there is no long wait at the parts counter...my go to spot for DIY auto repairs

The reason why I gave Advance Auto Parts three stars because customer service the guy go get the highest parts instead of asking me what do I want and give me an option from lowest to highest will give me an option of how much I wanted to pay for my part and go get the highest part she cannot had to send him back to get something within reason but other than that at Advance Auto Parts will get a fire for me but today service 3

I came in with w bent battery terminal and wanted to purchase a new battery. The manager came out and looked at my terminal and said that I would have to go to Honda and get an OEM part. I went down the street to Standard Auto Parts on North Avenue and he replaced the battery and terminal within 15 minutes. Not a bad selection of stuff, especially accessories, but the knowledge just wasn't there.
