Prompt, courteous and professional service. They accommodated me by taking in my car, giving me a loaner, and having my car finished in less than 36 hours (my regular garage would ve had me wait 3 weeks for an appointment) in spite of being busy. Highly recommend Midas!

The guy Mark doesn't know how to fixed problems. He us very rude. I was telling him what my car was doing. And can't find the leak. He wanted me to pay $1800 to fix the radiator and the hoses. Then I asked him for a quote to fix the power steering leak and he said no. I would never go back to them. He charges too much.

If you like being lied to, overcharged, having $30 stolen from your dashboard and having to wait 2 days longer than expected, Midas is your place it would seem. My girlfriend needed what we thought would just be a serpentine belt fixed since there had been an annoying squeaking sound coming from the car for a few weeks. Then they told us we d need new tires, a new water system, etc, and it was all going to cost $2000. Fine, whatever, anything to get rid of the annoying squeak. After everything was said and done (2 days after they said it would be), we got in the car to find $30 missing from the dash and the squeak was still there. THEN, less than 30 minutes later, a piece of plastic started dragging on the ground and we had to make a pit stop to cut it off. No clue what those morons did to my car now but looks like I gotta take it to a real shop.

NEVER GO HERE, unless it's for your yearly inspection. Not only do they do repairs but they rent out vehicles. DO NOT RENT THE VEHICLES OR EVEN ATTEMPT TO DRIVE THEM, THEY ARE NOT SAFE!!! I do not know how they are legally allowed to lend out vehicles that are not worthy for the Maine roads.

Bob and Mark were friendly, kind, and really helpful! I visited this shop to check on a potential issue my car had after getting work done at another garage. They were able to look at my car right away without an appointment, and even let me look underneath the vehicle to see what was going on. They wrote me an estimate and let me know that I didn t need to get the work done right away, so this visit was no charge. It was a really positive experience and I will return when I m ready to complete the repair. Thanks for being quick and professional!Service: General repairs & maintenance

I came here for my vehicle inspection. It did not take very long for them to work through it, and I passed my inspection. The staff here knows how to serve their customers and they offer free car to drive with if your car has to stay at the mechanic shop for more than 3 hours. Midas mechanic shop is a great place to get your car done. I recommend everyone to come and see for themselves. This was my first time at MIDAS, Westbrook, Maine. Not a trustworthy car repair outfit. Went for muffler repair/replacement and state inspection. But, also got stuck with a two grand bill which included them needing to replace the rear suspension/strut in order for me to get the inspection sticker. However, i never felt there was anything wrong with the suspension/strut at all. Supposedly, all of the fluid from the suspension/strut had leaked out and it was not safe to drive. So, they couldn't put a sticker on the car unless i agreed that Midas replace the suspension/strut. The person in charge of the repair shop who called me over the phone to inform me of the new issue said that the damage was "obvious" and i could come down to the shop and take a look at thee damage. i had no choice but to agree to the replacement over the phone because, i feared that the mechanic might go as far as to damage the vehicle just to prove his point to me. Brought vehicle for brake inspection. Got the vehicle back and the brakes are still grinding. He did not test drive it. Fixed the e brake and charged me 350 but did not address the problem with the main brake. It's obviously not working properly. They sent me a text to confirm my approval of their service. I responded and said the brakes were grinding and they did not respond.

There was a check engine light on in my car so I went here and the owner was very friendly and explained to me exactly what it meant and what I needed done. I was able to walk out 2 hours later with my light off and my car working. I m always hesitant to get any kind of repairs done because I m a younger woman but I had a very positive experience here and wasn t talked down to at all.Service: Engine repair

They went above and beyond for me changing out a rear wheel bearing in my Toyota Tacoma I brought it in for a differential fluid change found out the noise was a rear bearing and front driver side they saved my life in the long run. Great service. I have an older conversion van for wheelchairs. They were able to get a new muffler on. My regular repair shop could not do it.

They charged me $600 bucks to replace rear brake pads, and stripped several lugnuts in the process. One was so cross threaded that the bolt snapped off inside the lugnut when I tried to remove it. I asked them to replace the bolts they mangled the threads on. They agreed to but acted like it was a huge favor and stated several times it was the fault of the lugnuts, not the mechanic. Not quite a happy ending, as my brakes are still making the exact same noise I asked them to fix, but at least I supported the economy I guess.

Up front and a great business, willing to work with you! Not the least expensive or the most expensive repair shop. Somewhere in the middle, very fair and up front and honest. Just saw Mark and the crew again today, in and out in one day, car good as new thanks a lot for getting me in the same day, your amazing.

They overcharged me by more than an unfair amount. I told Mark, I m assuming the master mechanic, that my brakes are acting up and it needs a replacement. He suggests an evaluation. 30minutes later he calls me saying that my problem is the brakes, no kidding.Continues to quote me $550 for ONE brake replacement on the the rear left side - rotor, caliper and pads. Anyone who has done this replacement before knows the parts alone cost around $160.If you re in need of work done on your vehicle look for any of the local shops in the area.Service: Brakes

I visited 6 different mechanics in southern Maine and ask for the estimated cost for some minor brake repairs. Prices ranged from $700 to almost $3000. I knew I was being overcharged so I denied all their offers, went to Midas and they gave me a much more reasonable cost of under $500. They did the repairs fairly quickly and had me back on the road quick. I have gone back to them a few times now for oil changes, transmission fluid, etc. I have had no problem with them and am very happy with the services I received. I will continue to go back here.

So, it was the end of the workday toward the end of the month and I stopped in unannounced to ask for a state inspection. I fully expected to be laughed off the lot, but they got me in and on my way in under 20 minutes. So what if the waiting room looks like it hasn't been cleaned in a while? Staff wore masks and were friendly and efficient. Next time, I'll make an appointment so I'm not the demanding white lady (I won't say Karen).

Having the owner in the shop is a big plus. In my time waiting for an inspection I observed several people being helped out; including one of them who had a simple fix that didn't require payment. Good people here. I do my own repairs, but if ever in a jam I would consider bringing my car here.

I called to get price quotes for tires and services. At first he was nice but then said if I was just shopping around he was busy, but if I was legit then I should just come by and he could help me out. Frist of all, that was incredibly rude customer service. Secondly, as a consumer trying to decide where to best spend my hard earned money for necessary vehicle maintenance, I would be a fool not to research who has the best prices. As it turns out, not only do they have bad customer service, they don't have the best prices for services either.

My honey and I have come here and no where else because the owner Mark treats u like family, he's caring, nice and thoughtful. He always tells u the truth and cuts out the bs. Our whole family uses them. We called the other day out of the blue our car was leaking so bad so we called and he told us to bring it right in and he gave us a loaner because we work every day split shifts so I have to have a vehicle. They don't make u pay for the loaner either, that is what makes Midas our go to car place always because they treat u with the upmost respect, like family and their prices are very reasonable. Thank you Mark for another job well done.

I've set up a�Saturday 10am�appointment on their website. Never got a call back when I got an email that I'll be getting a call in 30 mins. When I called the shop to follow up, they said they did not received any emails.Worst off, they are not even open on Saturdays.�Please change your business hours here. My mistake is that I planned my weekend around this appointment already.The person I've talked to on the phone was pleasant and very apologetic though. So I might come back and try them out again next time.

I cannot say enough about how great this Midas is! The employees are all so nice, very helpful & extremely knowledgeable, especially Mark!! They don't do anymore work on your vehicle than is necessary & are very honest. I have been coming here for a little over 2 yrs & I won't take my car any place else!

Stop in to have them give me an estimate. Worker tells me to wait a minute for the owner/manager. No problem. Owner comes into the waiting room...Me: Do you have time to take a look at my truck and give me an estimate to put two pieces of tailpipe on?Owner/Manager: A dual exhaust for that truck is $700-800.Me: Oh, you must have misunderstood. I only need two pieces of tailpipe, not an entire system.Owner/Manager: It's $700-800.Me: (incredulous) You're going to charge me the same amount whether I want a full dual exhaust system or just two foot-long pieces of tailpipe put on?Owner/Manager: Yup.What else do you need to know about a place/person?
