I have been to Maine twice, and both times, three things have been consistent; the warmth of the people, the beauty of the place, and the excellence in service to visitors! This hotel exceeded all of my expectations for sure! The staff were so full of energy, enthusiasm and warmth that we fell in love with the vibe of the place! Jay, Cathy and her husband and all other people helped us feel at home here! The place is well preserved in ancient, rustic appearance and hasn t lost its charm, all thanks to the locals who have helped this Inn maintain its appeal!I ve added some pictures here for those who plan on visiting and need a great, quaint place to stay.Be wary though, this place is in the middle of nowhere; we almost spooked out and wanted to turn around a quarter mile away from the hotel. In pitch dark, the area is haunted almost and will give you second thoughts! No cell phone coverage here so be prepared to navigate manually; I suggest you be here prior to dusk so you can actually not freak out and skip staying at this amazing hotel, in the middle of the White Mountains of Maine!

Less expensive place to stay than in neighboring area, and a little out of the way which is great since we like quieter spots. Unfortunately you can hear everything from the floors above and rooms nearby. Finding the place at night is a little difficult depending on which direction you come from, when we had to turn around it was easy to find the sign. Room was spacious with a king bed and two pull out couches. Unfortunately not enough linens in the room to make the beds, but the kids were fine sleeping on the couch instead of the pull out. Rooms were decent, but I did have to pick up cleaning supplies and toilet paper rolls from the bathroom. So if you are looking for something a little cheaper with some serious flaws, it's a good spot. For me, I think I will find another spot next time or even go to New Hampshire, even if I have to spend more money. Or you could get a motel six with adjoining rooms for less money and the same experience

Just needed a place to stay for the night on our road trip so we could go to blueberry mountain and rattlesnake pool in the morning. This was the only affordable place nearby so we just went for it. We thought we were just booking at a boring old motel, but this place was amazing. We ended up with a room fully equipped with an upstairs loft and kitchen for under $200. It was basically a full apartment. We absolutely loved the homey and vintage vibes here and hated having to leave so quickly the next morning. There were plenty of amenities and everything was super clean. The old ski resort vibes of the place had me delving into the history of the Evergreen Valley. They also had a candy bowl at the front desk in which I loved, because nobody ever does that anymore for some reason. Loved the experience here.

Loved the resort. Taken care of with great love and attention.Quiet place nested in the middle of the forest. With a much better internet, allowing me to work remotely, this place would definitely have deserved a 5 stars.Great customer service.

This place rocks! Great prices, has everything you need, cozy and friendly, and not far from sunday river. It has a very cool vintage atmosphere with large friendly common areas. The rooms are a very efficient layout with a foldout couch and loft bed. Plenty warm enough on the coldest of nights.Fully functional kitchens in the units, but beware there are no salt/pepper/butter/oil so plan carefully! The GPS *will* fail you, so make sure you call ahead to confirm where you are going.Overall very satisfied, will absolutely be staying here again!

Really nice staff. We stayed at the inn. The room features were really cool (microwave, toasted, small oven with stove top, mini fridge, coffee maker) Murphy bed was interesting but not the most comfortable. It was very cute and enjoyable. I felt like it could have been a more clean. But it's totally a cute and small business. There is NO phone signal and the wifi cuts out a lot. Don't rely on this when you are getting away! Beautiful area and probably bring your own food!

We stayed two nights where one whole day and night was a snow storm. The rooms are outdated BUT they are clean and maintained well. We had the apartment which was basically two rooms. One side was the king bed with bathroom and the other side was two sofa beds with kitchenette and bathroom. Both areas were spacious and the apartment we had was very quiet. The kitchenette had stove and oven with microwave, coffee maker, toaster and necessary supplies. There isn t much stores or restaurants close by unless you go back to bethel area. One thing I would do next time would be to pack enough food to cook and snack. The people were very nice and we were able to bring our large dog with us. As far as we know, there were no complaints of him while we were out for the day. If you are a skier, Sunday river is an easy 45 min drive. I would definitely stay here again especially since they allow pets.

Cool place, lots of history. Many trails, unique location, laid back, beautiful area and setting. Requires a relaxed attitude. Perfect getaway for peace, hiking, tracking, observing nature, skiing, snowshoeing, skimobiling. Lots of nice drives to local spots. Abundant wildlife. Area has intrigue. Worth a visit. Great local treats at front desk daily.

This is a great rustic place for anyone who loves escaping from the bustle of city life! The wifi is good enough for basic searching. While rooms are old, they re very well maintained and our room was clean! They have a beautiful outdoor place to setup a fire and enjoy nature. And a nice playground for kids. The road in isn t bad at all! Some potholes but nothing an average car can t handle.

A very interesting place. Our 3 story room was interesting to get around with the double spiral staircases. Do not come here if you have any mobility issues.Clean and well stocked. The kicker was the $20 per night for use of an extension cord to plug in the air conditioner. I would have thought the $245 nightly rate would cover an extension cord.

The room was stickin cute and loved the little kitchenette and that it was fully stocked I sooo wanna go back! Great place that s not gonna kill your monthly budget . Thank you guys!

I think the pictures pretty much speak for themselves. This was through RCI. Nothing on that website was true except for the picture of the front. We actually had to use the queen mattress from the loft bedroom to put on the sleeper sofa. The loft area was over 100 degrees, no windows, so impossible to sleep upstairs. The sleeper sofas had a mattress that was so old there were pieces of metal poking through. We actually tossed the queen size mattress over the banister to living room below so that we could put it on the sofa to sleep. Then we had to pay $20 per night for AC that was duct taped to plywood. The entire experience was a nightmare. Every business is experiencing short staff and things happen. All of this could have been avoided so "we are short people" doesn't apply here. If you aren't able to offer acceptable accommodations, then you don't.

We had a great stay at this rustic inn which was originally built for the Evergreen Valley Ski Area. The ski area may be closed, but the inn is still there and it's perfectly located to enjoy all the White Mountains have to offer! Countless hiking trail, paddling spots, swimming holes, and more are just a shirt drive away. The inn itself is like stepping back in time, but is very well kept and has a rustic charm. Every room has a kitchen in it and there is a great outdoor area with picnic tables and grills for everyone to use. Yes, cell service is limited and the wifi isn't great, but it's nice to get away from fast-paced everyday life for a little while.

This place is awesome! Enjoyed the full size pool table in the game room. The spiral stairs were a nice touch. Very friendly staff and great muffins. Cozy spot for a nice weekend getaway. No cell service, a good thing!

This hotel is very out dated. The room we were shown was a pull down plywood Murphy bed and not much space overall. The room was clean, kitchen equipment and furniture were outdated. The double pane windows were fogged and we could barely see out of them. No phone in the room, no cell phone service in the area, no cable tv, yet they charge more than other close by hotels/motels. At 10pm the doors are locked and if you want to go outside you have to call a staff member and wake them up. I am in the process of disputing the one night that was charged to my card even though we left immediately. Check out my picture on trip advisor, they seriously provide a pull down plywood bed for $125.00 a night! Oh and the outdated couch pulls out too.... They charge your card then tell you the rules and lack of amenities... beware this place is creepy, overpriced, outdated, and has outrageous rules.

I loved the Evergreen. My favorite part of my room was the spiral staircase. The staff was amazing and I felt like they were part of my family. They even sent us off on our last day with a delicious plate of cookies. The abandoned ski lodge was really cool and kinda creepy in a good way. It was very quiet, peaceful and romantic. Right out the door there is an amazing hike up to Speckled Mountain. Where my boyfriend gave me a ring on top. :-) All around we were really pleased with our stay and would stay again. Shout out to our boy Jay!Jeremy and AngelaTwin Cities, Minnesota

We have enjoyed a timeshare here for over 42 years. Not fancy. Very comfortable. Great access to international snowmobile trail and amazing hiking trails. A great place to kick back and relax with family.

It wasn't exactly what I was expecting, but I grew to really enjoy it. The road up to this place is not the best, and it is NOT a motel type place where you can park right outside your door. All the doors are interior in hallways. You CAN drive down closer to your room to load and unload but you can't park there. My room had a murphy bed, which I've actually never experienced before, and it gave me old Sims video game flashbacks of getting eaten by your bed, but the mattress and blanket were pretty good and I had a good night's sleep every night. My dog was in love with the chenille blanket and kept squishing it up to create a lovely dog cave to luxuriate in.It's about 15 minutes to the closest necessities shop, so definitely stock up on food etc. at a cheaper store before you get there. The rooms have a small kitchen with AN OVEN, which was a great surprise but I wasn't there long enough to use it.The Absolute best thing about this place was the sense of friendliness and community when you went outside at night to the firepit. I met people who spoke German, Spanish, and French. There were people there for all different reasons, and everyone was giving away beers, food etc. There was even a bachelorette party and a group of people who had been coming there for over 20 years! There's a cute creek right behind the property and I think you could hike up the mountain about 20 minutes and see some cool stuff. I also drove in through the park to the slight west that is on the border of NH and ME and it had one of the most impressive overlooks I've ever seen. I think it was called Evan's Notch? Gorgeous. The internet here is tragic and I didn't get any cell service (verizon) most of the time. I'm traveling full time and need at least a little internet to look up or book my next place to go. The TV has some basic channels and always came in just fine. Really good hot shower and good pressure. i didn't realize my couch was a pullout, but it was a lovely modern couch that was comfortable to lay on and watch TV at night.I forgot to take photos so the only one I have is of "AJ's everything", the one-stop shop that is about 15 minutes away.

If you are looking for a remote place to get away and relax, this is the place for you. The rooms are a bit outdated but comfortable. The staff is friendly and will help you with anything you need. Great hiking and scenery opportunities abound in the surrounding areas. We enjoyed our time here and would love to come back again.

Last time we had been here was 25+ years ago. We also own a week in the timeshare. When we pulled into the parking lot last night, we couldn't believe it! It was packed! This made us so happy, knowing this place has been hurting for years. We chose to stay here for a few reasons, primarily price, second location. Third, nostalgia. Much like we remember from childhood, however things looked much bigger then! Enjoyed the stay, fortunately there was a large industrial fan downstairs, and a box fan upstairs which circulated air well. The toilet filled slowly, that's the only complaint. Loved the dishes in the cupboards, reminded my sister and I of our visits as kids. Very out of the way, in the Maine wilderness, very rustic location. If your looking for five star and AC, this isn't for you. If you're willing to roll with the punches, and enjoy yourself, it's really a place to lay your head at night. So glad we chose to stay here again. We'll be back. Hoping to come in the winter for snowmobiling!
