What a great place to go. My daughter was in Portland her car wouldn t start. Being so far away I couldn t help but I reached out to the store. They told me to have it towed right over. They figured out the problem and had her on her way back home the same day. Very fair price and old school customer service. Thank you to Andrew,Ricky and Dan on the counter you are all top notch. Thanks again for being there.

Drove over a spike the Saturday of Easter weekend and was able to limp over on a run flat for help. Andrew quickly and fairly assessed the issue and miraculously was able to plug the existing tire (Sparing me the cost of a brand new one when he could have easily insisted and done so). Honest upfront service who will highly recommend to anyone and will be back in the future

They squeezed me in to help me with my headlight. It was two days after Christmas and I thought I would be there for hours but in a much quicker time than I imagined they got me out of there. And the most important thing is they could not have been nicer. It's not every day you say to yourself that you wish you can go back to an auto service station but in this case, I wish this store was near where I live in New York. Two thumbs up and of course five stars .

I was in town for a work trip & popped my new tire. The three gentlemen working 3/18 were fantastic. I dropped the tire off & an hour later it was fixed, even took the spare off!10/10 recommend.

When the temperatures dropped, my car was telling me all 4 of my tires needed to be filled. I tried 2 gas stations but both had air pumps that were out of order. A worker at Trader Joe s said Sullivan Tire would fill my tires for me so I headed here. I felt a little weird asking for basically a free service, but the guy could not have been nicer. He checked my car s recommended psi and filled all my tires for me and told me to wait in my warm car. I was so appreciative and will definitely come back to Sullivan for any other tire/auto needs!

They told me they could not repair my tire (had a nail it in, not a large puncture) and I didn't know any better so I bought a new tire. In hindsight it could have been repaired. I was quoted a price on the phone and then charged more in person. They did do a quick turnaround.

This is my best moment to highly rate more than 5 stars and recommend everybody who wants to pay for best customer services,communication, experienced mechanic with updated tools to have a look and check and diagnose your car and make you back to the road as soon as possible, and guarante you to drive your car without any hesitation to hit the road. My friend, I am proud of this shop. They are always my mechanic. Why? I trust them, and they do all possible diagnoses to grantee you for the parts replaced or fixed issue. They are fast, and have the best communication to let you know what's going on your car while is being fixed. Thank you so much, sullivan tire, you are always and will be my mechanic forever.

I got my oil changed here and they were on time, did a good job, and didn t try to talk me into anything I didn t need. They did let me know about a service they provide (headlight defogging) that I definitely needed and turned out to be less expensive than I thought. I came back a few days later to have them complete that for me and they squeezed me in really efficiently. Would definitely go back!

Was on one of the islands in Casco Bay on vacation when a rock put a pretty good gash in one of our tires on Friday. We were set to leave Saturday. Jumped on google and did a quick search and saw Sullivan had good reviews. Called and spoke to Rick. He got me a tire from a another local shop and squeezed me in the very next day on Saturday before a 200 mile ride home. Great service and fair price.

Stand up auto shop. Not only have I always received excellent service and maintenance, but Sullivan Tire on St. John recently went above and beyond in righting a wrong that I was as much responsible for. In doing so, they ensured that I ll be a loyal patron as long as I live near Portland, and I will be recommending them to those who I know. Thank you again to Rick and the team.

During the winds of storm Eliot I had sudden loud sounds coming from my car that were alarming. I figured something probably had come loose in the winds and it would likely be a quick fix but didn't know for sure. With Christmas in a couple days, I didnt want to be stuck at home celebrating the holidays alone, needlessly. I drove around looking for a mechanic who may have a minute to take a quick look and after several failed attempts where nobody would look at it and wanted me to book an appointment days later and after Christmas, I finally had some kindness at Sullivan tire! They took a look, found a loose heat shield and fixed the problem in minutes. Best of all, they didn't charge me anything and just said "Merry Christmas"! The other day my exhaust unexpectedly started being super loud. I drove it directly to Sullivan and they were able to fit me in the next business day! Thank you Sullivan tire!

I have found this Sullivan Tire location to be very accomodating and easy to deal with. I hit a pothole in January that destroyed my tire and rim on a Friday. My car insurance company had me waiting on the side of the road for a tow for over three hours. Sullivan was able to fit me in and with my spare return home 30 min away. My new tire and rim were in on Monday. Excellent service!

I recently moved to Portland and needed a state inspection, tire balance/rotation, and oil change. Didn t know any of the garages in the city and picked Sullivan Tire because they were close to my workplace. Got the dreaded call that something else needed to be fixed (tie rod in front suspension). Long story short, they did an excellent job. I had shaking in the steering wheel at higher speeds and sometimes while braking. Thought it was the brakes or a missing balancing weight. But replacing the tie rod and adding a front end alignment took care of the issue my Tundra had. I will go back next time I need service. Thanks guys.

They like to use Lyft & Uber as their Shuttle Service but they don't like to tip the drivers. 1 star.

Excellent local shop. I had new tires installed a few months ago and recently came in for an oil change. They are always very professional and friendly (and had treats for my pup!). They ve also had great COVID protocols and the whole staff is vaccinated which made me feel really safe. Its nice to have a shop I can trust!

I think that Sullivan Tire is a good place to go. They are extremely thorough.I bought a $1500 4x4 and brought it here, for an inspection. There was much work that needed to be done, some of the work I am doing myself(, which they are okay with).They have to abide by Maine laws for inspection, so I do not hold it against the crew.They replaced much of my suspension system. After a 45 minute drive, I feel completely good about the bill.I feel much better about this truck now & it was worth it.

I looked for an appointment online and Glenda got back to me right away with options for times. I brought my truck in with two from tires with slow and slower leaks despite only having 12K miles on them (one I was filling every 2 days, the other every 2 weeks). I dropped my truck off before work and was able to pick it up by my lunch break. I waited until I put some miles on the tires to post a review. 2200 miles later, with half of that towing a 4000 lb camper, my tires haven't lost 1 PSI out of either tire. All of that and a state inspection to boot.Great service, very responsive, and flexible to appointment needs. I'll go back when I need new tires!

Went to my car to find an almost flat tire at 4pm on a Saturday. Called Sullivan and they told me to come right in (they closed at 5). My tire was repaired and they sent me on my way in 15 minutes. Great service, friendly and very professional. Highly recommend.

Prompt, excellent, reliable service. Did everything that I requested in clean fashion. Will recommend to friends and return for future service. Didn t follow up with me, had to call to see when my car was ready. Rude about making an appointment and cancelled my appointment even though we didn t agree to a time. Would not recommend

Showed up at 1 for a 2pm appointment and asked if they could squeeze me in a little early. I had a slow leak from a rear tire that I wanted plugged. I went for a walk, grabbed a coffee, visited a family member, then walked back at 220pm to find out they hadn't looked at it. At 230 they tell me there is a nail too close to the shoulder to repair and it will need to be replaced (fine. It is what it is.) I just wasted a few hours on a gorgeous Friday. Don't tell me you can fit me in earlier if you can't. A quick look at the tire at 1 would have saved everyone a bunch of time.Update: The following day i came back for the replacement and the same representative was there and was argumentative with me in an odd way. Thankfully, other employees realized this and quickly helped me and didn't charge me for the labor. Thank you!

I love taking my car to this Sullivan Tire on St. John's street in Portland! Gary is awesome and he is so nice and knowledgable! He really listens to me when I am explaining what's wrong with my car, and he fixes the problem right away! I got 4 new tires here also and the price was the lowest in the area! I highly recommend this Sullivan Tire! Gary is super nice and helpful and I am a customer for life now!! : )

Can t recommend this place enough. Brought my Tesla in for a winter wheel and tire swap as well as a inspection. Team was beyond helpful. Will be going back to this shop from now on to swap the summers back on.

To women living in the Portland area who have had bad experiences dealing with car repair: the people at Sullivan Tire on St. John Street were approachable and informative.No patronizing attitudes here. The work I had done on my car was explained to me (in advance) as were my options and prices. Will never service my car anywhere else!

Tech/ service writer uneducated, ethics questionable. Refused to rotate wearing tires ( at 4/32's) to the sides not wearing as quickly- citing liability reasons.First of all the tires they were concerned about were well above the wear bars, meaning they're absolutely fine for another 10-20k summer miles. Whats really happening is that they wanted to sell me more tires and service and when I said no they just stood by there erroneous conclusion and refused rotate. Which in fact, would be safer then allowing them to stay on the side that is wearing.I've worked in garages for long enough to know that in this circumstance they were looking to scare me into buying more stuff from them. If the shop really had the customers best interests in mind they would have presented me with information rather than telling me "theres a problem". You guys are the problem. I would steer clear of this location.

I went to get snow tires for my 2017 wrx. They helped me find a sold set of winter tires. Furthermore was offered to check out the same snow tires I was purchasing, that one employee already had on their wrx. Couldn t be happier, customer satisfaction to the max. Tires were put on in a reasonable amount of time. I will be doing business with them for the remainder of my time in this state!

They damaged my body kit on the lift. No disrespect to the staff, they are knowledgeable. Staff was apologetic, but no compensation was offered. Be warned if you have any aftermarket cars or trucks, it may not be the place to go. It was an undesirable outcome for me, hopefully this saves someone else a similar experience.

What really grinds my gears, nobody there cares they lost a customer today. I set up an appointment a week and half prior to have 2 new tires put on my vehicle. I showed up at the agreed upon "bright and early 7:30am." When I arrived we had to go over steps I could've finished on my initial start up. Because of that mistake I was already set back and the tires needed to be shipped from the warehouse, nearby. No big deal. When I asked if my tires would be done by 3pm (8 hours later) I was informed that they most likely would not be done because of "so many appointments." I left and got my tires done at a family establishment and paid less in 2 hours time.
