I had an online order of 2 outdoor lighted snowmen, and they were suppose to be in yesterday, so when I called them today they only had the one. So I went to pick it up today and they were very friendly and sad to see the snowman leave!! I am happy to have a snowman to add to my decorations.

I understand the economics of why Ace Hardware can't help but be more expensive than big box hardware stores. I get that they compete on convenience, knowledgeable folks on the floor, and house brands you can't find elsewhere. And that's cool. But I still get sticker shock for basic fasteners. The staff is great though and you can't beat the convenience of the BBQ joint and the experimental retro-hipster burger place withing walking distance, to buy extremely expensive drinks to drown your regret at over-paying at Ace for carriage bolts.

Prices are a bit high, sometimes double what I see on Amazon/Home Depot/Lowe s but the convenience of the Local Store being so close, and their variety, is hard to ignore Their staff is unbelievably friendly, and helpful I just wish they could have their prices a bit more competitive, though

Great place to get garden tools, leaf bags, regular and organic lawn products, small construction tools, small quantities of just the right screws / nails. Easy to get advice. Sometimes has better quality small garden tools than the big box stores. Well organized and clean.

I can usually always get what I need ,people are pleasant and very knowledgeable especially tim that works part-time on weekends

Cute and convenient store. Much more pleasant than going to an auto store for car supplies. Very nice employees, especially the woman running the register today. Really grateful for her excellent service!

Went in for cactus/succulent soil and a starter tray. Easily found it and was quickly allowed to check out. Couldn't ask for more. Had been there before for something that I can't remember and couldn't find and I was promptly and politely directed to it. Good place would recommend

Everything a hardware store should be! Like stepping back in time before the era of big box stores. Great, knowledgeablecustomer service, and they re just as willing to help you look for that one pesky screw as with shopping for a pricier item. Highly recommended! And because they help with the screw, I try to buy more expensive items there whenever possible!

The people who work there are amazing! They know their stuff and are happy to share and help. I recently did my first DIY plumbing job ever (and I think it may be the last), and I literally could not have done it without their help, advice, and product selection. I will always choose them as my first choice over one of the big box stores.

Awesome store, helpful employees. Came in with a small problem and only 1 idea on how to possibly fix it. Tom walked me through the store as he made a couple of other suggestions and I left with a better solution than the one I had started with.

This place has so much stuff in such a small shop. The people who work there are always willing to help and answer questions. If you live in South Portland, this should always be the first place you check.

Oh it's helpful lots of selection for such a small store. I go here before I go to the big box store because it's so much easier and nicer.

Neighborhood Hardware store. Staff is very knowledgeable and helpful with any need. If you crave the opposite of the big box experience, this is your place

Drillen Hardware is hands down the best hardware store in southern Maine. The employees are always smiling and are very knowledgeable. The owners are the nicest people I've ever met. If you don't believe me, go to shoppers hardware in millcreek. Those people are rude and Discrimitive towards you if you're younger than the age of 50!

This place is my go to hardware store. They have a wicked stainless and chrome hardware selection. They are super friendly and knowledgeable. And it smells like barbeque in the parking lot.

Targeted, yet wide ranging selection. They seem to carry what you really have to have. Knowledgeable, helpful staff. They won't sell you something you don't need.
