We spent Indigenous people's day weekend here, and had a really nice time. Staff was friendly and helpful, room was fine, and it was not far from downtown Millinocket. We opted for this motel because it had a pool which was great when the weekend turned out to be rainy. Be warned- the building looks odd and the parking lot is bumpy. It's behind a dollar store. Great value for the price.

We enjoyed our stay at the Katahdin Inn. The location is set back a touch from the road which makes it a touch difficult to find your first time there. The staff was very friendly and helped us with our later than expected arrival time. They even helped us to find a local car service since we had some issues with our rental. The hotel, indoor pool and room were clean. Our cooling system worked great and kept the room at a nice cool temp. We really liked the proximity to Baxter state park. We felt there was a good value for the price paid. If we go back to Millinocket we will book with Katahdin Inn and Suites again.

Easily some of the nicest and most helpful staff I've ever encountered in a hotel. It's also one of the most interesting hotel designs I've seen (outside of gimmick hotels built to look like a steamboat or something).Food & drinks: Late at night pretty much the only thing around and open is the nearby McDonald's

We stayed here as a last minute get away. The staff was welcoming and the room was clean. The pool is located inside and the rooms are around it. The room smelled like chlorine and was very humid. The hotel is very outdated. Room service was minimal. They folded our used towels instead of giving us new ones. I would recommend this for a last minute option but there are other upscale options if you plan ahead. Lastly the price is cheap and reasonable so I m not sure what all the other reviewers expect.

July 2023: There is a humidity problem here. Lots of reviews painting a picture of a run down place which can be somewhat subjective. Poor air quality is objective and a health concern that needs to be addressed. I don t carry a hygrometer around with me, but the humidity must ve been greater than the recommended maximum 60%RH.The bathroom floor within the hotel room was slippery. The carpet within the room made our socks feel damp. The hotel room air conditioner was continuously ON during our stay.On a good note, this hotel is ~30min from the Togue Pond Gatehouse of Baxter State Park.Safety: Poor air quality (humidity)

I felt it was overpriced for the overall quality. Staff was friendly and helpful. The room was fine and spacious but the floors were very squeaky and the walls were not well sound buffered. I recommend asking for a room on the third floor to help minimize noise transfer. The free breakfast was a little thin, only sliced plain bread, oatmeal, cereal and yogurt; no fruit no other main options like bagels, waffle machine, etc.

We stayed two nights during the off season. Although the exterior has a weird vibe, it was actually a very pleasant stay and we d recommend it to anyone wanting to stay close to Baxter State Park. The rooms were clean and we liked how the room windows all faced an inside courtyard / pool area. Overall great stay and we ll be back next time we come to the park.

This hotel was clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We loved the family-owned aspect. The rooms were very nice. They allowed pets and they were friendly to our dog as well. Service was excellent. We left very early in the morning to hike Katahdin and the evening before, they asked if they could prepare a small breakfast bag for us - so thoughtful! They also had coin laundry where we could wash our clothes after our hike!

I'm giving the hotel 3 stars for only one reason... The staff. The ladies at the front desk were great, but the hotel is in serious need of repairs.- the pool was broken and couldn't be used.- the hot tub was broken and couldn't be used.- the pool tables were missing the cue balls and couldn't be used.- the arcade games were turned off (we had to turn them on to use). The room was nice and clean, and a/c worked well. The beds were nice as well and since there was nobody else in the hotel really, it wasn't loud.Because of issues we had at Baxter (flat tire) we decided to leave early and continue on with our trip. They did refund one day when we checked out early which was very nice of them though. I think with proper maintenance it would be a nice place.

This place is kind of a dump. Just kind of. The staff was really nice, and very accommodating. For example, we had to leave really early, so they packed us a nice breakfast the night before for us to take on the road. The room & bed were clean, and there was A/C, which was nice. On the other hand, I saw a mouse in the bathroom, which was a little unsettling.

Very disappointed. Traveled 8 hours, looking for a nice soak in a hot tub or just to float in the pool. The whole reason we chose this hotel. Everything was closed. They didn't even have housekeeping. The bathroom towels were moldy. The whole placed smelled bad. If it hadn't been so late would have gone elsewhere. We cut our trip short and left in the morning. And I had to pay full price!!! I got ripped off. Will never stay there again and will never recommend this place to anyone.

Unfriendly, dirty, and unfit to stay at. I loss my deposit of $153.00 because I refused to stay there. The location is sketchy. Pool looked gross. Worse customer service I have ever experienced.Rooms: DirtySafety: Unsafe

Although our room was decent, bathtub was roomy, and it was clean, I expected more beauty entering the hotel based on the online pictures. The pool is advertised as heated but was too COLD to even go in for me. I enjoyed the hot tub. Not a very homey, welcoming place and it felt dreary and old. Also the breakfast doesn t have eggs and anything warm other than many breaded items like bagels, waffles etc. I don t think I d stay here again.

We loved this hotel. First we did not get in until11:00PM and the owner waited up for us. He was kind, pleasant, and helpful this late at night. The location was perfect for all outdoor activities. The king size bed was extremely comfortable. The air conditioner went to 54 degrees which is perfect for us as we love it cooler. It was very clean(I even check behind furniture because I am fearful after a bad experience in PA). The price was fabulous. I will be back to this hotel and would recommend it to everyone. After 2 weeks on the road this was our last hotel and it was a breath of fresh air!!!

The hotel was not what I expected at all. I traveled to Millinocket with friends for the fourth of July, so we decided to stay the night. For the quality, I think the rooms were over priced. The hotel is run down and dirty. The outside looks like a jail and does not offer a warm welcome to guests. The hotel itself has a distinct smell that is less than appealing. The rooms were mediocre. There was nearly a 2 inch gap between the bottom of the door and the floor. The pool was dirty and had a green tint to it. There was a shirtless man sitting in the hallway drinking a beer, when me and my children were leaving. There are also individuals living in this hotel who have an extensive history of illegal drug use. This hotel is not family friendly at all. I did not feel comfortable leaving my personal items in the room in fear my things would be stolen. My small children did not feel comfortable staying in this hotel. We stayed a total of maybe three hours, when we decided we were not going to stay the night. When we called to speak to the manager, he was incredibly rude. I expressed my feelings and all he had to say was "not my problem." He spoke over me, cut me off, and would not listen to the things I had to say. Please do not stay at this hotel!

I only went in to fill out a job application, but as soon as I walked in it smelled like a fresh hotel. (I love that smell) I walked to the front desk, and no one was there (the job I'm actually applying for) but one of the staff gave me advice on what to do to get help at the front desk, and within just a couple of minutes someone was there to help me. All of the staff I spoke with was very friendly, and asked me if I needed any help. I've never stayed in a room or anything like that, but there was alot of house keepers going back and fourth. So I'd imagen they would be fairly clean. They was a good sized pool! I really hope I get the job! It seems like a really nice place!

Was suppose to stay there this past weekend with my fianc. We decided to get out town for the night. We were going to get a room at this hotel but upon checking in was told that they needed to put a hold of 100 dollars on my card for a deposit. I have never experienced anything like this before and was pretty disappointed. Ended up leaving and going else where. When I mention to the front desk person that it didn t state anything about this deposit on the booking site I used he said well usually it s 200 so you would be getting off on a 100. Anytime I have ever stayed at a hotel they usually put a small hold on my card but never 100 to 200 dollars.

Really cool place, pool tables a few arcade games, pinball and a really nice indoor pool. Hot tub is nice but smelled like camp fire after a couple days. Keep in mind this is the end of the app. Trail so people are looking for a good place to relax.. that being said they did empty and clean the hot tub third day i was there. The people that run the place are awesome. So friendly and even let us play pool and video games and use the pool a little after curfew. I would absolutly stay there again.
