I went to this place for an inspection a couple months back. Not only was the man at the desk extremely terrible with customer service, he me it wouldn t pass because of my brakes. He told me the brake rates start at $400. I could not afford that. I had also just bought this car and I knew I should probably get a second opinion. They also said this same exact thing to the woman who went after me. She could barely speak English, the man was rude and said the exact same thing as my car.I went to my dealership and they told me I needed windshield wipers. My brakes are not in bad condition. I may be a woman but I am not foolish. Hopefully this place has cleaned up its act since I went there months ago!!!!

I can't express how much I appreciate this location! Chad is the most understanding and caring person I've ever met. I came in with some issues, and Chad took great care of me and my car. I came in with a scraping noise, and my check engine and vsc lights on. They replaced my brake pads and rotors which fixed the scraping sounds, and told me they replaced an oxygen sensor which would fix the lights. After a day or so, however, the lights came back on, and when I called another shop the other shop said they probably just reset the codes and didn't fix anything to do with the check engine light etc. I don't know if that is true, because that other shop is a competitor, but what I do know is that they charged me to fix something and didn't actually fix the issue.

I ve been coming here for about 7 yrs and Criss and chad are both great to work with, they always let me know right up from if it s something they work on or don t. My ac needed to be done and sent me to another place who did great work. Being a woman a lot of times we feel nervous about maybe being taken advantage of because we may not know something. I m pretty knowledgeable and have never been mislead or take advantage of sort of speak. I do give them info on everything up front of what I want looked at or think is wrong and don t just make them guess which I think is sometimes easier for both of us to get best results of what s needed. I d 100% tell anyone to come here. I've taken my vehicle there twice once for a ball joint replacement and another time for an inspection. Both times I had great experiences. They took the time to explain the issue with the ball joint and replaced it quickly. My go to place for years! In for an oil change & asked them to check my coolant because I had to fill it a few weeks ago & the reservoir is now low again. The reservoir is leaking-has a crack in it. I told them I was starting a new job on Monday & wouldn t be able to get in anytime soon. They made a call to get a new reservoir delivered ASAP & are fixing it. Let me just say...Chad is amazing. This all started when I called 2 days ago & he squeezed me in for a late oil change on a Friday. Now, they are staying longer to fix an unexpected issue, all because I don t have the luxury of getting back soon. They always treat me well!! If you want honest, trustworthy & affordable service, I highly recommend! Customer service is top notch!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Oil change

They did what was wrong with the car and didn t try to swindle me out of money like vip I knew what was wrong with my car and they didn t try to say there was more wrong with it. They were fast and efficient and gave me a good deal. I drove away smiling. Also... The woman they took care of right before me also drove away happy. She was so excited she was practically skipping out to her car. No joke!

I took my car here to get an inspection. The guy that looked at it told me the inner tie rod needed to be replaced. He didn't even notice that one of my back tail lights was out until I told him about it. I had the light bulb and tie rod installed by someone else. I took it back to have it inspected again and they told me that it needs a sway bar and a shock. It was less than 3 weeks between when I brought it the first time and when I brought it a second time. There is no way the sway bar and the shock went bad that quickly. The guy who did it the first time obviously either wasn't very thorough or was just trying to get as much money out of me as possible because I look like someone who knows nothing about cars. The person I had put the tie rod in said it was next to being fine. It really didn't need to be replaced but I had already gotten the part so he replaced it anyway. Don't come here if you look like someone who doesn't know anything about cars because you will be taken advantage of or maybe they just won't look at your car well enough to figure out what's actually wrong with it. Would NOT recommend.

Very reasonable, the guys are no nonsense, they tell you outright what's up. Great place. I had to take away a star due to the waiting room, it's extremely uncomfortable. I went in today, with a loud exhaust. They were courteous, pleasant and they only fixed what had to be fixed. It's obvious, customer service is at the top of their list!! I left there feeling like I didn't get taken for granted AND my car doesn't sound like a ship in the fog! Thank you for treating me like a repeat customer, even though it was my first time! I WILL be a repeat customer from now on! And I'll have no problem singing your praises and recommending you to others! You should all be proud!

This was my first visit to Maine Auto and let me say best decision I could have made. Chad is a very honest and knowledgeable mechanic. He is upfront and thorough. If you are in need of a mechanic I wouldn't hesitate to go to Maine Auto Lewiston.

I came to maine auto and the fellas are awesome, great service. I went for a inspection they found a rust spot that actually enters the back seat area they sent me to a fabrication place. up front honest business. I'm definitely sticking with them.

Chad and his team are fantastic! Easy scheduling, great communication. My brakes have squeaked since my car was brand new 6 years ago. The Maine Auto team replaced the brakes but they still squeaked. Unwilling to give up, the mechanics diagnosed the problem, fixed it, and now the silence is deafening! Thank you so much!

If there was an option for a no star review, that's what I would have left. I own a used car dearlership in Lewiston and I had a customer take a vehicle there for a pre-purchase inspection. They failed it for some control arm bushings that were said to be torn as well as a strut that was leaking. I brought the vehicle to another shop for a second opinion because I had this vehicle inspected by a mechanic that I have been doing business with for at least 10 year and I trust him. I brought the vehicle to another shop to have these items checked and they said replacing these items on this vehicle is a waste of time and money!Everything on this car was safe and passed Maine State Inspection standards. The long and short of this story is the customer that bought the Vehicle wanted these repairs done because he trusted Maine Auto Service. I did the repairs to the vehicle to get the deal even though they were unnnecessary but these guys cost me about $500.00I figured they would railroad me when I pulled into there shop and all 4 bays were empty when nobody else in Lewiston could check out this car for a week. I feel like they were just looking for work! I cant imagine how they would take advantage of a woman or a customer that's not mechanically inclined to realize that the are changing parts that don't need replacing. I would always recommend a second opinion when using this place of business or don't even bother using them at all!

They were very quick and smart with what was going on and was told that the issue i had was something serious and in glad they caught it before I kept driving it. THANKS CHAD your the man and thank you for the advice of what to do with my engine knocking.

Reiterate what others say about honest and knowledgeable. News from a car mechanic is not always kind on your wallet. I go here because I trust Chris Fournier. End of story.

Took my car in for inspection told me a few things were wrong and I failed. He said he could fix them. Less than 40 minutes later my car was re inspected by a reputable station and my car passed. Beware seems with this place not passing you is a good way for them to make extra cash on repairs. Then to top it off he was going to charge me again for a re inspecteion. All the other places I called just to check, when the car comes back for re inspection. They just issue the sticker not re charge you.AFTER READING YOUR REPLY IT SEEMED YOU FELT SO STRONGLY ABOUT MY INSPECTION I HAD MY SON WHO IS AN AUTO TECH RECHECK WHAT YOU HAD WRITTEN DOWN. TO MY SUPRISE HE AGREED WITH .YOU. HOW THIS ALL CAME ABOUT IS A WEEK AGO I HAD TIRES CHANGED AND HAD THE WHEELS ALIGNED AND THEY DID A CUTESY SAFETY INSPECTION WHICH THEY STATED THE CAR HAD NO ISSUES. THAT IS WHAT CONFUSED ME WHEN YOU FAILED IT. REST ASSURE THAT TODAY I AM GOING TO GET TO THE BOTTOM OF THIS TODAY AND FILE A COMPLAINT. THEY SEEM TO HAVE PUT MY SAFTEY AT RISK. YOU SEEMED TO HAVE FOLLOWED THE RULES THEY HAVE NOT. THE ONLY THING I DO NOT AGREE WITH IS RE CHARGING FOR RE INSPECTION. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HONEST RESPONSE
