Highly Recommend Avoiding this place !! I ended up having a cam shaft sensor done not even 2 days later my check engine light kept coming on . Every time I would take it back they would just reset it with a scan tool and said as long as it s driving right it s not an issue (claiming it was a faulty engine code) and Now Not even 2 months down the road my car is now misfiring and stalling out , I took it to a new mechanic and was told they used an aftermarket sensor wich caused the failure (after I specifically told them not to and paid for an OEM sensor). I brought it up to the guy at the front desk he quickly became hostile towards me and arrogant saying I don t know what kind of game your playing why didn t you bring it back here instead of going to them (I was not going to let him touch it after I seen he had already ripped me off ) #save your self a headache

I recently had my front controls arms replaced here. They did a great job in a timely manor. I also found the workers / owners to be very friendly and knowledgeable. 5 stars.

Berube's has the best customer service in town for car repair. I've been to many local shops in the area over the years, looking for a mechanic I can trust. I stopped looking when I found Bob's place. Repairs needed are explained in ways that a customer can understand and no unnecessary repairs are ever recommended. The owner, Bob, is kind and empathetic. All around, this shop has everything a car repair customer could ask for.

Went in for an inspection. Told them upfront there was a screw in my tire. Rather than look at the tire first to see the screw was to close to the side wall to remove. They did the inspection then looked at the tire. Charged me for the inspection anyway. It would have taken 2 seconds to look at the tire first and say they wouldn't be able to do the inspection. Won't be returning.

Sent my daughter for an inspection, mount 2 tires, and put in a headlight bulb she purchased. She was charged $62.50 to put in a light bulb. A quick Google search shows this "project" takes a few minutes. The invoice stated it took them 30 minutes. Inspection failed for a minor manifold oil leak, which i was aware of. This is not a requirement of Maine State inspection. Severely disappointed. I've had service there before myself. This is why I sent my daughter. I trusted them. I rarely offer reviews and never left a negative one, but this was a con and intentional manipulation of an uniformed young woman. All this two days before Christmas.Update12/23/22. I called Bob to discuss my concerns. My thoughts would that he would see the error in the time calculation for the bulb. His response was, "well after the fact sometimes we wish we wouldn't have made certain decisions, but she signed for it".Bob also could not explain to me where the failure to pass inspection fell under the Maine Motor Vehicle Inspection Manual,section 170.1. This occurred after he explained to me that they did not actually check out the manifold, and that is what the question mark on the invoice meant.I am willing to pay high rates for good service. What I am hoping to communicate here is the need for accountability and honesty. In my opinion, given the facts I laid out, my daughter did not receive that. It is a good lesson on how to question as a consumer.

I came in short-notice to get my state inspection done, and found out I needed a new headlight and tires as well. Bob squeezed me in despite them being full on appointments, and Randy was wonderful. I definitely recommend this place to any and everyone - great first time experience with a state inspection lol :)Services: Tires, BrakesServices: Tires, Brakes

I called bob last minute on Friday because the garage I had an appointment with backed out and I was upset due to driving my family to Florida Sunday and I wanted to make sure my car was safe, fluids and filters checked, tires rotated. I even needed a time frame Saturday and bob and his team made it happen. Not to mention he had his employee sweet Margaret bring me home. She was very kind and I enjoyed my morning conversation with her. We re new to the area and will definitely be using bob and his team. He communicates quickly I am very appreciative of everything they did and do. Thanks guys and Margaret.Services: Air & cabin filter replacement, Tires, Wheel alignment, Oil change

Every visit I have had to Berube s from inspection to needing my car fixed, they have been personable, professional, honest and very helpful in explaining what is happening with my car. No one wants anything to be wrong with their car, but I know when going here that they re a place I can trust and that they have my driving safety in mind.

We had brake lines replaced and brakes done for my daughter s car and couldn t have been more satisfied with the level of service. Bob is super responsive. I texted him on a Sunday night of a long weekend to tell him that two weeks after the repair her brake light went on. He texted right back and said he would look at it first thing on Tuesday morning and was true to his word and got back to me within an hour. Pricing on original repair seemed fair as well. Luckily I don't have to go very often, but when I do, I am very happy with the service. They are very fair and honest. There are other places a lot closer to my home, but I still go to Berube's.

Bob is the worst mechanic I've ever dealt with - You should absolutely stay far away. He adds random services to the bill at outrageous prices, refuses to explain them when asked, the parts he sources cost 300% more than anywhere else, the labor cost is high to begin with ($125/hr) and padded with fake hours. He "performs services" without getting confirmation that you agree to them, then threatens to steal your car if you don't pay in full immediately. For example -- $350 to flush the coolant in a radiator --something that costs $50 to $100 at an honest place -- performed without consent, and threatening to hold your car hostage unless you pay -- Great way to run a business!He also lies about how long it'll take to have your car serviced. I scheduled a drop-off a week in advance for very low-level diagnosis and repair, and didn't receive an estimate until FOUR DAYS LATER. He's not anyone you should ever trust to diagnose your car problem, or anyone you should ever trust to fix it. Trustworthy! I have been coming for several years now and the owner Bob has the best customer service I have seen in this type of business. Moreover, they don't charge for things that you don't need done in your car and they do an excellent job.I really recommend this Auro Care shop.

Bob and his mechanics are very professional and knowledgeable. I was very happy with the quick service of finding out what was needed to be repaired with no extra bs added on then very quick to order part and fix my jeep! The owner is very personable and willing to help you to the best of his ability! I found out I was unable to make an appointment and h gladly squeezed me in the next day! They re willing to do anything for their customers and are super low priced!!! I went there for the first time last week and I will be returning anytime I need work done on my vehicles!!! Also they have added so many different precautions to help prevent COVID, and makes you feel comfortable entering the building whatever your stance is on the virus.

I brought my car here and he told me with the parts and labor it would cost me almost $1000 I called a couple of the garages around town and found a garage off Sabattus Street at 3 Stone Ledge Dr. he told me he was only gonna charge me $630 so I ended up taking my car to him he was much cheaper, and very Polite and professional. I have given this garage numerous opportunities and every time I ve gone down he has charged me outrageous prices also when I have tried talking to him he gets very angry and very rude and tells me that he will not argue the prices. My opinion I would always call another garage before bringing your car here because the prices he charges and the prices anybody else charges are very very different.

Trustworthy!!! This is the kind of local shop that people will always look for. I plan on coming here as long as their doors are open! The prices are at a fair price and you know that you are being treated right. Bob is super friendly and is great with kids. My kids love coming in because bob always has a treat for them! Definitely recommend this shop to anyone within the area.

After months of playing phone tag with the Dealership - facing month long waits for service and incorrect warranty information - I called Berube's for help. In a 48 hour span, my car was taken into the garage, repaired, and Bob's team even double-checked the previous work I had done elsewhere. On top of that, I was offered an AAA discount! I have found my new home for future car service and repairs, and appreciate the time Bob spent explaining his work to me. Thanks again, Berube's!

I had an oil change done at Berube's Complete Auto Care and they were very helpful to me. They are very nice people to work with on my car. I also get my gas there because of the turn over of people getting gas there is no chance that there would be water in their tanks. I would recommend this auto care center to everyone. If I could give them 10 stars or more I would.Thank you for being so very nice. I and my sister have now made this auto care center our main garage for everything.

My husband and I have been loyal customers for many years and have always been very happy with the customer service and the work quality. Bob is honest and has always giving us options to help us save money and time. He has been very flexible with times and days of service. He has a wonderful and trustworthy team so we have always felt comfortable leaving our van there even at times the office is closed. I am always telling my friend about him and his team.

Last January this year, I have broken my bottom shield as I have got caught by the snow storm.I dropped by their place and Bob took care of my bottom shield right away.I am very happy for the quick and quality service.He is very professional, very accommodating, and entertain his client with absolute compassion.I just did my state with inspection with them and it was fast and well done.I truly recommend this place for quality service and repair and also great customer service.I looked forward on getting our car done here regularly.

Had my car towed here overnight via AAA, and called in the morning. The guy I spoke with was friendly from the start, and called me by name. They were able to fix it before noon, so I could get it to an appointment I already had scheduled (for something else) across town. Very impressed! Thank you, I'd recommend to anyone.

100% made to feel like family and back on the road to Canada safe to drive e after it unexpectedly overheated on a weekend trip. Called on the Saturday with no idea what to do and hundreds of miles from home. They checked, rechecked it, and triple checked before sending me off with it in great shape. Gave great notes for me to give my home mechanic when I got back.

I had been told by an unnamed dealership that my wife's car needed a rear control arm bushing. We wanted to save money and knew they'd be likely to gouge us for other things (oops, sorry, you need the whole control arm... and look what else we found... yadda yadda yadda). We went to a local service station, Berube's, and are so glad we did!Not only did we find out the bushing was not needed, but brakes, rotors and tires were. I hate to think what that dealership would have charged, but am sure it's at least 2-3 times what we gladly paid Mr. Robert. We like to shop local and keep the money in the community rather than see it head off to the offices located who knows where. You can believe that we will be bringing our other car here and we'll be back with this one when it's time to renew our inspection sticker.Thank you for being such a great person and shop to do business with!Services: Tires, Steering & suspension repair, Brakes, Brake service & repair

Highly recommend Berube s for honest, trustworthy service and professional treatment. You might feel (and be) taken advantage of at chain auto parts stores and franchises; never at Berube s. Bob s a successful small businessman in it for the long haul. Great customer service.

I only have good things to say about these guys. AAA was giving me a hard time about replacing a battery under warranty because I was not a current member even though I was a member at the time of the purchase. Bob went above and beyond the call of duty to get this battery exchanged for me. Kudos to Bob and his team! I will certainly be going back here.

On March 19, 2018 I took my 2003 Honda Accord, with 179,000 miles on it, to Bob Berube's for the annual inspection and an oil and filter change. As it turned out, I needed the replacement of an upper control arm, a radiator hose, an alternator drive belt, a power steering hose and a four-wheel alignment! Bob gave me the bad new, an estimate for the repairs and with my agreement, he ordered all the necessary parts. Even though I had no prior appointment for all this work to be done, Bob found a way to fit me into his schedule and by 3/22/18, the work was completed.Bob always treats me courteously, fully explains what work has to be done and what it will cost and has his well-trained staff do the repairs as quickly as possible to minimize the inconvenience to me!!!!!!I've been having all my service done at Berube's for the last few years and have always been completely satisfied!!! I recommend Berube's Auto Care without any reservations!!!!!!

We had our 100k mile maintenance completed by Berube's, and are completely satisfied. When they checked the transmission fluids, it was really clean and change was not needed. They would have changed it if we asked them to, but refreshing to know that they would ask first. This saved us money. Any Chevy dealership would have just changed it because it is on their checklist of things to do. We can trust the folks at Berube's to do the right thing for their customers.
