Highly recommend!!! It's a lighthouse you can go into. Great for pictures and learning about local history. Favorite lighthouse in the area.

Took the ferry over and got to climb up to the top of this little lighthouse. Wonderfully friendly lady on hand operating the museum.

this would be the very place(the lighthouse itself) that my great great grandfather was the light keeper and also once the landowner of land the lighthouse was built on. his name was Francis Stuart Grindle. i think he was the second keeper that was given the responsibilty.said to be seen to still roam the insides of its walls as if to still be performing his duty.one day i will visit this beautiful spot and possibly conjure up a little family reunion. i gave it 5 stars because any where in my home state only deserves the best no matter where you go.

This is the only thing you can explore within walking distance of the Islesboro ferry. Hit up the Sand Castle for drinks and food after. The tiny museum is worth your time. It's sleepy, quaint, and preserves that feeling of coastal Maine I see now only in paintings at the Farnsworth. It has a haunted feel, especially in the passage to the tower. Once up in the tower, the view of Penobscot Bay is worth enduring the ghosts! Bit of a tricky climb for some folks, so be careful. Please go, and don't forget to make a donation!!!

Absolutely not worth the trip of $40 for a car and passenger to find the museum closed and NOTHING on this island. Tourist trap

Always a nice boat ride from Belfast. Nice little snack shack, and climbing the lighthouse and visiting the museum well worth the visit.
