Excellent garage to take your vehicles to, whether they're domestic or foreign. Kind staff, fair prices and automotive expertise you can trust. It's my first choice for automotive repairs.

My TDI and I are very happy with the work they did. Everyone was super nice. Definitely worth the hour drive so glad to find a place I can trust my car with.

Detailing, brakes, oil changes and other standard maintenance to my Mercedes. Prices are high then I had in the past, but I also took Fords and VWs to cheap shops. My Mercedes only goes here. They don't screw you around when looking at it. They look at my 2013 C300, and always tell me its in mint condition for a 7 year old car. Oil changes take a while, but that's because they inspect the entire car. Other garages may not be able to be trusted. They know me and always treat me well for my my business.Waiting room is closed right now.

We blew up the engine in our Fiat 500 towed vehicle while exiting a campground in nearby Holden. We screwed up, it was our fault. RVers who tow and are reading this can figure out what we did. It was a manual transmission. A local garage told us to contact Rawcliffe's because they specialize in the type of work we needed done. We took the car there and the next day we had a report of their inspection and two estimates for the repair. The repair took several weeks because that's how far ahead this shop books their work. We just picked up the vehicle and drove it home to Pennsylvania with no issues. If you are in the area and have a breakdown, this is the place to go. I even checked with a friend who is in the auto repair business, and he confirmed that the amount we were charged was fair and reasonable. A big thumbs up and thank you to the mechanics and staff who handled our repair.Service: Engine repair

Refused to give me an estimate unless I had Vin #. It's not that big of a deal but no other garage in the area asks for that. Obviously I didn't have it on it and started spitting out they have this policy etc etc.

I really appreciate looking at all of the replies, it's always good for a good laugh, I personally never have had my Audi here but would like to get it here one day... Also you should go to Party City in Bangor if you ever need balloons filled, Nate is great at doing it!

I took my MINI to Rawcliffe's last year (2022) for service and I highly recommend everyone steer clear of this place. I have an extended warranty on my vehicle and was told they would contact them to have repairs covered and they didn't. They also did work I did not authorize and when I arrived to pick up my car, the bill was over $1k! Ralph knew I was on my way and left for the day. Rob was there and said he would contact my warranty company and call me with the cost of whatever wouldn't be covered. I paid $800 towards it with the expectation I would likely receive a refund for part of it because of my warranty. He never did call me and I called many, many times and was always told by Ralph that Rob was "at lunch" and he'd let Rob know I'd called. I have also written letters, including a certified letter to be sure it was received, and they have not responded to me. I disputed the charge with my credit card company in hopes it would get someone to reach out to me to get this resolved. They never even responded to my bank, so my bank reversed the charge. This is a very short version of what happened because it would be a book if I wrote it all out. Rawcliffe's came highly recommended and I honestly can't figure out why anyone goes here. They keep sending me an invoice every month for the "balance" on my account and I've told them multiple times that had someone reached out to me I would have paid my share, but they have completely ghosted me. I've had the same phone number and address for years, so I'm easy to get ahold of.

I have to say I am so very impressed with the service I had here! From the smiling faces when you enter the establishment straight through to the checkout process this place was amazing from start to finish. They went above and beyond and with very fair prices. Thank you for a job well done, my car drove like brand new on the way home and I will definitely use your business again in the future!Service: General repairs & maintenance

One star (because zero stars is not an option). Rawcliffe s seriously understaffed and makes promises they can t keep. Brought my car there at the very beginning of the week and have called every day to check in and they haven t even looked at it. For context I have a flashing check engine light that would require 5 minutes to diagnose. Also they will eventually stop picking up the phone if you call every day.I promise I m not blowing this out of proportion. I was told on multiple days that they would definitely have a chance to look at my car by the end of the day. Every day when I called to check in, they told me they hadn t had a chance to look at it but maybe the next day. I m very unimpressed.

I have to pass on how great the Rawcliffe s Service Team was as a whole from the receiving of my car to the pickup. Long Story short I just retired from the Marines out in California and I was driving my Mini Cooper through Hamden and it over heated and the dashboard lit up like Xmas with every code popping up imaginable. We called around to see who worked on Mini s , my neighbor Ben recommended Rawcliffe s so we had the vehicle towed there. We dealt with Harley, Hank and one of the owners Rob. They welcomed us to the area like family. They helped us navigate the extended warranty we purchased trough USAA Auto where work that totaled over 1100.00 only cost us a mere 200.00 by the time they were done. Every question we had about what transpired and the timeliness of their response was very professional and did not keep us guessing about repairs. What really won me over was the empathy and sincerity of Hank & Rob when I picked the car up they explained the invoice and just the vibe of how they dealt with the 3 other customers in the shop felt like i was at a barber shop getting my hair cut with the positive flow of info and how every customer spoke so highly of them with courtesy and respect. They will have my repeat business and future business for all of my vehicles.ShawnServices: Carburetor cleaning, Electrical repair, General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair, Battery

In the brief time I've been doing business with Rawcliffe's, they've displayed superb customer service, with a genuine commitment to customer satisfaction. The Rawcliffe's crew went out of their way to make sure I was happy with a recent transaction. I won't hesitate to bring my vehicles to them in the future, or to consider another used car purchase from them.My recent experiences with Rawcliffe's - including a used car purchase, service and detailing on another car, and service after the sale - has been exceptional.

THE place to bring your European car to have work done on it. Fair pricing, prompt service and they ALWAYS give me a loaner. They also do alloy wheel repair, straightening and refinishing... The ONLY place that does this. They specialize in BMW repair and sales. Professionally run and managed as well. Definitely a 5 star business!

I originally called and explained that I was experiencing excess noise and vibration from one of my wheels. I suggested a bent rim, not ruling out the possibility of a worn out wheel bearing. I have work at 930am and I set an appointment for 8am and they said they d have me out the door by 9. Perfect, great so far.I showed up at 8am and was told that the gentleman responsible for straightening rims was not in until 830am. So I waited from 8am until 10am to get my car fixed and then drove the 30 min back to work. Additionally, they quoted me $95 to straighten the rim. After all was said and done they charged me $120. So not only did they make me late for work, making me lose money but also overcharged me based on my quote. They informed me that the wheel bearing was bad as well as the bent rim and should be replaced soon. They quoted me $368 to replace the bearing. I went and bought the part from NAPA ($120 bearing) and did the complete replacement in 20 minutes. How a 20 minute job that can be done with a 13 mm socket and ratchet comes out to $368, I have no clue.Overall, I m happy they fixed my rim, by no means an easy job. On the other hand, the customer service and pricing is pretty poor. If I were you, I d go somewhere else.

I've been coming here for about 7 years and I wouldn't take my cars anywhere else. Rob, Ralph and the crew are friendly, honest, dependable and they know their stuff. They are so honest they tell me things I can wait to fix and things that aren't safety issues (only annoyances, like a brief shimmy) so that I don't spend more money! We're lucky to have them.

If you own a BMW DO NOT take your vehicle there. I paid three grand and they did not fix the issue. They dragged it out until closing time too so I couldn t take it right back when my problem persisted. You re better off taking it to a well known foreign mechanic.

Very disappointing. We had ignition trouble with our BMW, a simple ignition coil diagnosis and replacement is what we asked for. Instead my wife got a phone call from Rawcliffe's saying that the valve cover is leaking and they are going to have to replace the whole valve cover ($800.00+-). Keep in mind this car had 43,000 miles at the time. I called the gentlemen on the phone asked why not just replace the gasket? His reply was on the rude side and had no true back up or reason. After I realized I was getting nowhere with this guy I told him to just replace the coil and give us our car back. My wife brought the car home and I noticed the hood looked as though one side wasn't closed properly, so I opened it and found the old coil jammed under one side of the hood. The technician must have slammed it in there. Luckily there was no damage. I was quite upset at the time but did nothing about it. I figured I'd be wasting my time. Jump ahead three months. The car started running rough again like it did before. I did some research online and found I can replace a coil at home with simple tools. As a matter of fact I replaced all six of them for the same price they charged us for one. It literally took me one hour after watching a you tube video. While I was under the hood I found two bolts missing on the plastic cover that encases the top of the engine (real impressive guys looks like I'll have to order some of those). Then I found where the oil had been leaking. With a little thought and looking hard with a flash light I determined it wasn't the valve cover at all. It was the rubber gasket on the oil filler cap. You know Its sad to think these folks call themselves professionals. We will never return to Rawcliffe's after this chain of events. If I have to I will invest in the tools I need to maintain our car. Oh and no guys, we don't need another cabin air filter!!!!!

A couple of our employees bring cars to Rawcliffe's. We've done it for years because of the attention to quality when we get our vehicles serviced. They not only do the work required, they do a check of all fluids, make sure lights are functioning, and if they see something wrong, they will give a heads up on future work that will be needed in 3 months, 6 months, etc. That gives us time to budget the work. It's also a multi-generational business and the current owner is right there on the property. Rawcliffe's is the absolute best in the area.

I've taken our vehicles to Rawcliff's since 2013. At that time, Rawcliff's was the only real service option for later model BMW vehicles. My first service experience was exceptional and the shop has since worked on every vehicle in our "fleet" from the more modern to the decidely geriatric. The shop recently did an extensive exhaust system rebuild on a 2000 Toyota Tundra pickup, fabricating a number of key components in order to save me the great expense of new catalytic converters. The overall quality of work is exceptional, the staff is highly professional and the prices very fair. Owning an automobile can often be an expensive and frustrating experience, but great shops like Rawcliff's make the challenges a whole lot more bearable.Services: Exhaust, Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Electrical, Engine repair, Wheel alignment, Brakes, Battery, Oil change

Company is a total ripoff. Had $4700 engine work and 3000 miles later engine fails and they refused to do anything. Mechanic lied about what is wrong with the engine. I wouldn't ever do mechanical work with this company again. The owner of the company wouldn't come good for anything that his mechanic did. No warranty.Service: Engine repairService: Engine repair

Pro's: Friendly service. Detailed, competent, and thorough service. Clear with what needed to be fixing. Cheaper than a dealership but providers service equivalent of. They will be able to fix problems that even most local mechanics would not recognize or fix.Con's: 30% more expensive for service than other garages (labor time and cost is high comparing them to local garages), and so thorough they will always find something wrong. If you want a car to pass inspection cheap do not go here.Overall:If I want my car fixed I will go to another garage. Too expensive for the price.

Brought my 02 BMW in with the check engine light on and after the initial test .They were fast in identifying the problems and parts and labor was reasonable. The crew at the shop are pleasant and polite . I would and will recommend Rawcliffes for anyone .

The team at Rawcliffe's did an outstanding job at helping to remedy a problem with a thermostat I provided. I can't speak highly enough of their professionalism and willingness to deal with issues that come up. I have been doing business with them for over a decade, and they still find ways to impress me.Service: Auto engine diagnosticService: Auto engine diagnostic

I've had several service appointments with them so far and all of them are timely, within price estimate and significantly cheaper than dealerships. They communicate well, are flexible on what kind of parts you'd want to use and maintain a clean shop.

Well, after a 2300 quote strangely 2300 more work needed to be done and the car towed back twice after their work "was complete" I am not rating these guys high at all. My regular mechanic just didn't have the space to do a head gasket replacement. Never going back

Great place, with accommodating staff and friendly service. Not the cheapest per hour for labor (we didn't use their services, just came for car inspection, but was given a quote for something else), but people must like them because they've been around since 1915.

5 Stars, Excellent Service as always at Rawcliffes. Robbie, Tim and Ralph are always friendly and very helpful, the mechanics are excellent, service is thorough, with ongoing followup suggestions to help you care for your vehicle without giving you the sense that they are simply creating business for themselves, as often seems to be the case elsewhere. They don't need to do that, the community has learned what a great business this is, word of mouth is all they need .
