Husband and I visiting Booth Bay and this is our 3rd time staying at Shore Hills Campground. We love camping here, about 4 miles from the hustle and bustle of downtown Booth Bay, summer months and parking can be a real challenge because it is so popular. A great place to stay, check in office very inviting and the owner so pleasant along with her assistant. Small area In check in with all the needful groceries to get you through the day with out leaving. I so appreciate that they have entering and leaving security gates! We made our reservations 6 weeks in advance and sent a 50.00 deposit, we were so thrilled to get a great site. Large, wooded with fire pit, trash pick up, nice picnic table and we made new friends with the local chipmunks!! Very quiet place, across the highway down aways there is a tourist attraction of an old train station and you can hear the whistle blowing, I think it s pretty neat. Showers, laundry mat, sell propane, Internet, cable. Hurricane Lee rolled in Sat 9-16, the park had a few downed trees and lost power overnight. Power restored and trees taken care of. Park workers went on every site, blew the leaves and twigs away and cleaned up the roads, all back to normal. On the other side of the park is where the big travel trailers, Larger 5Th wheels, RV s park, beautiful pond with shooting up water, very popular with the Mallard ducks with their babies and other wildlife. Highly recommend this great park. Debbie and Bob, Mich

The park itself is nice. However I disagree that the staff is friendly. Our spot was muddy from the rain and we were told to stop being so picky and get over it. Then I asked about a couple of spots for the next summer and they laughed and said the only way your going to get those spots if someone dies. The park is clean but good luck in getting one of the better spots. Good for a couple days but not if you want one of the better spots for a longer stay. Apparently you need to know the right people to get one of them. A bit of a turn off when conversing with the ladies that have obviously been working there for awhile. They have a bit of an attitude! Maybe you will have better luck than I did.Nearby activities: Whale watching, clam bakes, shopping, fishing. Endless amount of things to do.Safety: No issues. Completely safe!Food & drinks: Downtown Boothbay Harbor has amazing food and drinks. Lots of places to choose from.

Can t compliment enough on what an excellent campground Shore Hills RV Park is. The entire staff was wonderful in every way. One of the cleanest rv parks we have ever stayed at. Sites are huge, level and well kept. Trolley service provided for guests is excellent. Saturday evening entertainment was fantastic and a great way to meet other camping guests. Would rate Shore Hills a 5 star all around. Would definitely return again.

We stayed here for the first time end of Sept. Found this campground online and booked due to the previous reviews and the proximity to the little village of Boothbay Harbor. Staff were so pleasant and accommodating. Unfortunately we didn't realize the acorn season where ALL the acorns were falling and hitting our camper all day and throughout the nite, making sleeping impossible. The open grassy area had just a few big campers (ours is 25ft) so I inquired the next morning if we could move over there....all grass; full hookups and NO trees. The staff could not have been nicer and gave us a wonderful site. Needless to say we would definitely come back and automatically book in this area and not the fully wooded sites; just preference. If you want a nice friendly campground close to everything but yet far enough away; I highly recommend.

This is our second year at Shore Hills Campground in Boothbay. Obviously we love it here since we came back. As with most campgrounds, all sites are not created equally. Pull through a are quite long. Back in sites tend to have a little more elbow room on the sides. All sites in the pull through/big rig friendly section are gravel and all back in sites have a raised deck and picnic table. Some pull through sites do as well. They offer live entertainment each weekend. We are huge fans of The Saltwater Hillbilly - last year he had my daughter join him on stage to play the bongo drums, which she will never forget. The people that work and stay here are soooooo nice. There is river access if you want to launch one of their canoes or bring your own kayak. Laundry facilities are nice and located throughout. Conveniently located to Boothbay Harbor and all the lobster and ice cream you can eat and then some! We liked visiting the Botanical Gardens and playing mini golf right down the road. Last year we stayed five nights, this year we stayed two weeks. We may be here even longer next year! Reservations are made over the phone or via regular mail, which seems a little behind the times, but they are very efficient and pleasant so I do not mind at all. Family owned and operated. Delight place. Highly recommend!

This is a nice little Mom & Pop style campground. There are hot showers (metered 7 mins for a quarter) laundry room, dish washing station. Small store.Fire ring provided at the tent site. Stayed 4 nights, over the weekend, and had a nice peaceful time.

This is a family run campground - NOT a hotel. Sites are mostly large and clean. Most are easy to get in and out of. We've been coming here for years and love this area. Centrally located to visit mid-coast Maine.Nearby activities: Easy access to the Mid-coast area of Maine.Food & drinks: Many excellent places to eat in all price ranges in the area.

What a Beautiful RV Park, nestled in quaint little Boothbay. When we arrived they had everything ready, and a surprise for our little Yorkie-Poo. Very thoughtful. The people all throughout the park are so friendly. The staff are friendly and helpful and are looking out for you too. One of the workers stopped and checked to make sure I knew my back lights were on, and he didn t want me to have battery problems. Great guy. (The lights weren t on, it was just the sun but he made sure.) There are lots of things to do around the park. This was our first time and we will be sure to come back soon. The power here is Outstanding .. very steady at 125volts even as the park filled up. I expected it to fluctuate quite a bit but it did not, it was steady.

Tent camped several days here in July. There is a boat ramp with access to the river from inside the campground which was such a treat since we had our kayaks with us. The ladies working in the office gave us a tide map - you don't want to be out there at low tide! There is also a walking trail that takes you through a pine forest. Staff worked continuously to keep the bathrooms clean and stocked. There was plenty of fallen tree limbs around to have a fire every night. This place was packed when we were there in peak tourist season. There were plenty of dogs barking and kids melting down to keep things interesting. It was peaceful enough. My only complaint is that it wasn't mentioned at check-in that we had to pay for the showers. They're already cash only - it would be a nice courtesy to offer to exchange some of my dollars for quarters.

The park is beautifully landscaped. Our site was large and fairly level. We had a small wooden deck with picnic table and covered trash can for pick up. The lots are nicely kept with manicured grass. The major problem here is the sewage connection is located on an incline going up a hill. We ll you re essentially fighting gravity so keeping a short hose and getting close as you can might help that. Our neighbors go there very often and never use the sewage due to this issue. There is so much green space to walk and play with your pup. There s an average sized fenced in area you could use and it s shaded. It s very quiet AND you must go to the bay located at the far end of the park. Beautiful sunsets and clamming at low tide. Didn t use the bathrooms but laundry room is clean. Close by to shops and restaurants, and whale watching tours. My husband and I actually thought Boothbay is prettier and more scenic than Bar Harbor. ENJOY!

Campground was fine. Good location for visiting the area. I had read reviews re rude staff but since we ve never had any issues at any campground didn t really think it would affect us. When we checked in for our reserved site we were given a completely different site. When my husband questioned the site number he was told things change . We were never given any explanation other than things change . We were there for only 2 nights and the site we reserved was big and on the water, the new site was neither big or on the water. We were disappointed but not worth an ugly confrontation. Nope - we will never go back to that campground nor will we recommend it to friends or folks in our camping groups.

My little family stayed 2 nights in this beautiful campground. We had a lake side view and the sunsets were gorgeous each night. The camp ground had many people but the sites are spaced out so nicely. There was a little stream close to our site too that we could hear through the night. It was nice and peaceful. All the campers around us were so friendly too. I highly recommend this campground. We will definitely be staying here again next time we camp in boothbay!

Lovely place. Great area to visit. If you have kayaks you can put them right in the water from the campground. They had live music and great outdoor/ indoor party pavilion. Cash / checks only , if you don t have cash they have a atm machine right there. There where black raspberry around the campground. The one thing I loved was the garbage can was at the corner of every site.

Beautiful wooded sites with plenty of room. We're in site 30. Sites 100-149 have much less shade. Quiet, clean, we'll kept. Close to Boothbay Harbor. Many great restaurants. Recommend Cabbage Island clambake if you want an authentic and quintessential Maine coast experience

Maybe the prettiest RV park I ve ever seen. Lots of trees along a tidal inlet. Gorgeous. We also paid an extra $2 a day to upgrade the Wifi, which turned out to be a great investment. Be sure to ask for a shaded space as they do have a section that is simply a parking lot with hookups .Downside: their restrooms, while clean, are very dated. Another is that they only take cash which was a pain. None-the-less we d still stay here again whenever we are back this way.

After many years we decided to return to Shore Hills for an extended weekend. Our site (133) was deep enough for our 40ft 5th wheel plus truck parking. Staff friendly and helpful. Loved the duck pond. Wish the shuttle service to the harbor center had more runs. Taxi service is hit or miss. We drove to Damariscotta a few times, had dinner at the River Grill highly recommend and they take reservations. Glad we came back.

We stayed at Shore Hills for the 1st time during Labor day weekend in our small travel trailer. When checking out we booked another (4) nights for next year since we liked it so much. Everything was perfect from start to finish. We arrived late and we found a map and gate key ready for us.Everyone camping there was very friendly saying good morning/evening whenever you came upon them. We used the bathrooms to shower and the showers were great, clean, hot water and only 1 quarter for 7 minutes. Overall, I would highly recommend this campground to anyone that is looking for a nice, very well maintained quiet campground. You wont find big parties here as most of the people are older in age. We didn't go the concert they had but it sounded like everyone had a great time.

Quiet. Easy access to harbor for shopping and restaurants. When you first pull in to the park there is no real place to park the RV to check in to the office. Same with leaving, outgoing campers do not have a pull off spot, end up blocking the exit. The people in the office are not helpful, get short when asked questions. Our travel companions lost power due to the campsite 30 amp breaker blowing. Good thing he had backup connector. The office was going to call electrician. We left without seeing said electrician. Will not go back.

Very friendly and helpful ladies in the office. Some of the most stunning campsite views in all of NE if you don't mind using the dump station. Perfect location with a free shuttle into Booth Bay. However this is a really old property that needed upgrades years ago. The bathrooms are old and crampt and we could not run our A/C and hot water without tripping the breaker on the pole. Having said that DO NOT MISS the chance to stay here.

Had a great stay for two nights on Memorial Day weekend. On Friday night there was a great band and most were dancing and having a good time. That gave me the opportunity to talk to the owner who told me about the auto and train museum across the street. My wife and I enjoyed coffee and homemade coffee cakes there on Sunday. This property has lake frontage and nice views. The campsites are among mature trees and are nicely graveled.. I highly recommend this site near one of mains nicest areas.

Great campground located 10 minutes from Boothbay. The campground is very low key and quite. Bathrooms and showers were in good shape and clean. They have canoes that are available to use. Overall a great experience.
