10/10 really knows how to treat an undercarriage. Was not disrespectful, very attentive to detail. Might leave you a little drained but well worth the wait.

Being in Boothbay for the summer for work I didn t know a good auto repair shop. I was referred to Dan s auto repair. From the first time I walked in and greeted by Karen so was super helpful with getting the exact parts I needed and setting up an appointment to get my car in. When I got my car in the tech was quick with getting my car done and getting me back on my way. I can t say enough good things about Dan s. If you are I Boothbay and you need a great upfront, honest and friendly mechanic there is only 1 place to take it. I wish there were more shops like Dan s.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I can not say enough about the service and dedication of everyone at Dan's Auto. Karen did the extra research and involved the guys to be sure we ordered the right used part to replace a shifting cable that was backordered due to supply chain issues. We are so grateful to have the truck back in working order. They went above and beyond to help us. A thousand thank you's!

Dan's Auto Repair people are straightforward, positive and honest. Over the past 2+ years they have done routine services and repairs as needed. Vacationer s from Maryland when my vehicle decided it had enough. We were stranded and completely at our wits end. My husband called a few places with the answer I don t think we can get to it today . He called Dan s Auto repair at about 12 pm and he said bring it over and let me see what I can do . The people were absolutely amazing and they had us on our way in about an hour and a half. The price for the repair was very reasonable. What could have been a catastrophe turned into a minor inconvenience. 110% satisfied and thankful for this place. Thank you so much for your kindness and willingness to help our family out.

Super friendly service from Karen at the front desk and my car was in and out of the garage in under 2 hours for two light bulb replacements on a busy day. Nice to know there s a shop I can always trust when I m nearby.

I was visiting from out of town and about to drive the 8 hours home when I found my front driver's side tire was low. Assuming I had a leak I took it to the closest mechanic who told me they were booked solid and couldn't help me out. So I found the next closest mechanic, which was Dan's. They were able to see my car right away, and the woman at the desk was incredibly nice and welcoming. After maybe 5-10 minutes, I was informed that it was only an issue with the tire valve, and not only did they fix it, they didn't charge me. If you live in the area, I can't recommend them enough, and if/when I'm back in Boothbay and in need of car repairs, I'm definitely going back to Dan's.Service: Tires

Called Dan's Auto Repair Service this morning as both the check engine light and EPC light came on last night as my car started shaking and suffered engine power loss. The very friendly and joyful front desk lady told me to bring it in right away and they would have a look at it. My car almost didn't make the short trip from Ocean Point to Dan's(!).At Dan's I was greeted by the sweet front desk lady and 10 seconds later the mechanic took it in, hooked it up diagnostically, told me what the probable cause was and fixed it within an hour. Once done he took it for a short spin to make sure everything was in good order, came back and handed me the keys. Absolutely awesome experience, they really came in clutch here.Very friendly and professional staff. I would HIGHLY recommend this place.Also very fair price!10/10 stars hands down. My car s exhaust was making a lot of noise after the drive up to Maine. I called up Dan s and they slotted me in that day at 10:00 am.They got the car on the lift right when I got there, spotted the problem and fixed it within the hour.Very reasonably priced and very nice people!I highly recommend giving them a try if you are in need of repairs.Service: Exhaust

While on vacation in Boothbay Harbor, our vehicle tripped a code and knowing our trek home was hundreds of miles, we chose not to chance the risk of breaking down. I stopped at Dan s as I had researched their establishment and it was rated at five stars. I asked if they could plug the car in to see if it would be safe to make the trip. The gentleman there performed a diagnostic cleared the code and was extremely generous. Not only was the staff completely professional and knowledgeable, yet extremely friendly. I pulled in on a Friday afternoon and they dropped what they were working on to help and send us on our way to enjoy the rest of our last afternoon. We were very appreciative and would recommend this establishment to anyone. Their 5 Star rating was a very accurate estimate of their service.

Dan is known locally as the "go-to" man for keeping our vehicles safe, and running well Being a life-long car guy, his knowledge and diagnostic ability are well known . He explains issues, current and potential, and keeps track of them online. My '98 Volvo still runs like a sewing machine. Prices are fair, work excellent, as is the communication. The friendly "Cheers" atmosphere is created by Karen ,and able mechanics reflect well on how Dan runs his business. We depend on him....Service: General repairs & maintenance

Had two cars serviced at Dan's so far. Quick and easy appointment and service, reasonably priced, honest. I will be a regular customer. Update: It s seven years later and Dan's is the only place I will take my car for service.

Our car stopped taking gas during our vacation to Maine from New Jersey. They got us in right away and fixed the car within a few hours. The repairman even drove the car down the road to put in gas to make sure it was working. We were pleased to get an appointment the day after calling. My wife was greeted promptly and courteously by Will who had set up the appointment. Joe, the technician, asked questions about what we were experiencing before heading out for a test drive. He then ran the diagnostic check. He thoroughly explained the results and next steps which can only be performed at BMW. He charged only for the half hour of assessment. The service was expert, thorough, and honest. We wouldn't hesitate to use this shop again or recommend them to others.

Drove 6.5 hours to Boothbay Harbor for a week vacation, and once we got there my caliper froze up and was grinding metal to metal. I made a call to Dan's Auto Repair Service and they got me in within the hour and saved our trip with an incredibly fair price and even took my girlfriend and I to a nearby place to hang out for the day while they fixed my truck. These guys are awesome!Service: Brakes

Great service and great value - highly recommended.I was visiting Boothbay and experienced a minor issue with my car. I called and spoke with Dan and he gave me an appointment time for the next morning. When I arrived for my appointment, Dan met me and we discussed the issue. In sum, my car was fixed in less than 30 minutes and the cost was very reasonable. If I ever have car trouble again while I'm in the area, I'll certainly call Dan again.

We were saved by Dan's Auto repair shop. We were in town as tourists visiting the botanical gardens close by. We had locked our keys in the trunk of the rental car. The rental car company said all they could do was send out a tow truck, tow the car away give us a new car. This of course would have been at a huge hidden cost to us ( as they would not give us a price) and with no understanding of how we to get our luggage back. A lady at the botanical gardens told us to try Dan's Auto repair. He was there within minutes and worked on getting us back on the road. The car was not an easy car to get into the trunk as it is new. With some wiggling and determination Dan's auto repair shop found a way in and got our keys out of the trunk with no damage to the rental car. They also did not take advantage of us and charged us what I though was waaaay too little. These are really great guys and know what they are doing.Thank you so much guys!!!

We like Dan's because we get top-of-the-line service there, but also good advice on maintenance. The dealership where we bought one of our cars wanted us to let them do an expensive process that we found out from Dan's didn't really need to be done for quite some time. Dan himself has monitored the situation, and we appreciate the care taken with our vehicles.

Excellent service by Scott, Karen is a beautiful ray of sunshine who greets and takes great care of you, and Dan himself thanked me for coming in. I asked everyone around town where to take my car, and now I know firsthand why they all recommended Dan s. Keep it up!

I took my vehicle in for its annual state inspection. Dan mentioned that the inspection was fine, but there was an exhaust leak, which I had noticed that morning on my way over. They fixed the exhaust leak in less than 30 minutes and I was on my way.The locals in the area all agree that Dan's is recommended!Kate, who runs the front office, is very friendly, too!

Hands down the best and friendliest service I have ever had at an auto repair facility. From the moment you call you are welcomed. Fit me in for a last minute oil change, in and out in 45 mins, and no trying to upsell unnecessary items. Great local business, I will for sure be back when I need anything while in town!

These people are so helpful , everything is done is a very timely manner , it's amazing how fast their service is. Always easy to make an appointment on time as well. They let you know everything that is going on with your vehicle and their prices are very reasonable.

I traveled many miles to visit a relative during the holidays. The next day, my car wouldn t start. Before it was even towed over to Dan s, Kate had the part ordered. I was able to pick up the car the day after Christmas. The service was fantastic, and I made it back home with no problems.

Our car was making a strange sound. We took it over and they checked it out and fixed it in ten minutes. They were friendly, professional, and we will definitely go back again if we ever need car repair in the area.

Dan's is our consistent go to shop. From inspections to fixing any identified issues immediately, and all for a wholly reasonable cost - with the truest Maine friendly service. We're lucky to have them in Boothbay!
