Our two night stay was lovely. The property is beautiful and we had a great dinner the first night. The bar is also fun. Shout out to our server (she worked Saturday breakfast too) and Alge at check in. The rooms are super cute but a little dark. Could use another lamp or light over the dresser for evening. Would definitely return!Food & drinks: We had a great dinner as well as breakfast and cocktails.

Easily my favorite stay of a 10 day coastal Maine getaway. The property is STUNNING. There was absolutely nothing going on in the village of Boothbay during our stay so it was insanely peaceful & tranquil. The views are breath taking and The Ocean Point Inn provides a beautiful outdoor space to soak it all up. I couldn't believe my eyes when I looked out of our balcony and saw a fire being built by the water for guests to enjoy at sunset. Just top notch! The room was beautifully, minimally decorated and the bed was so comfortable I could have cried. I am a terrible sleeper, one of those lunatics that brings her own pillow and blanket everywhere. I slept like a teenager. The women at the desk were kind, welcoming and more than helpful. I loved this place so much and can't wait to be back!

What an AMAZING property! It is a little bit out of town, but the property is so quiet and peaceful, that you'll hardly even care. My room was very clean and comfortable, the staff were great, and the breakfast was top notch. But the best part of all was the VIEW! You won't regret booking a stay with Bluebird Ocean Point Inn. I wish I could have stayed longer.

Nice rooms, very friendly staff throughout, though somewhat pricey. Rate includes free breakfast but only til 9:30 am and really more of a continental breakfast than a true breakfast and had to wait for items to be replenished as they would bring small amounts of items which would get scarfed up immediately and the wait would begin again.Rooms: Incredible sheets!!!

Overall we enjoyed our stay but there were a number of details that would make us hold off on returning. First, we specifically booked a King Deluxe room with a banquet set up to accommodate meals in the room with our toddler. This type of room was not actually finished being built yet they took our reservation anyway. This is not ok. If the rooms don't yet exist you shouldn't be selling them. It took three attempts to change out our room only to find each room was not what we had reserved (and each was unfinished ie. light fixtures not in place, wires hanging down, etc.) the front desk manager admitted that the room we had reserved wasn't actually ready and showed me the unfinished room asking me if we wanted to stay there any way. This all took almost an hour so given that it was 6:45pm and our 4 year old needed dinner we accepted a different King size room.Unfortunately the room wasn't great. We needed to use the refrigerator in the room but it had leaked water everywhere inside the fridge. I cleaned it up, put our food in but by the next morning all of our food was soaked with water again making the fridge unusable. While I love the hardwood floors they get dirty and gritty despite taking our shoes off at the door but when housekeeping came each day they didn't ever vacuum or sweep the floors. Though we ended up accepting this room because it was more finished than the others we were offered, there were still A LOT of parts of the room still unfinished. The bathroom vanity was unfinished plywood underneath and there was still painters tape around the perimeter. Actually, there was painters tape around the shower, around the door, all along the baseboard. The heat register was missing the cover so the heating elements were exposed (not that the heat was on but clearly the work here was not done). The deck was just unfinished 2x4s as railings and the divider was unfinished plywood. The plugs next to the bed were not accessible. The deck leading into the building was covered with splattered paint and construction debris like screws and nails. I mentioned this to the front desk manager as he was showing me the room and nothing was done about it.After the second night of our stay we stripped the sheets off and placed them on the floor (because they were soiled from our toddler spilling food) as a signal that we would like them replaced. The housekeepers put the obviously soiled sheets back on the bed. When we returned to the room we were surprised and had to walk to the front desk to ask for someone to change them because we called the front desk three times over the course of an hour and no one answered. One other minor point is that it is annoying to have to walk to the front desk to get pool towels every time you need one. It would be great if they could be available in the room or at the pool.On the up side the views are gorgeous and the food at the Ocean Point Kitchen was generally very good. The pool was fantastic and never crowded. The decorating of the rooms is super cute and going to be lovely when they are actually finished. This place has so much potential and we wanted to love it but it was disappointing that you are accepting reservations and taking people's money when you are clearly not ready to be open and can t honor the specific room type that people reserved and paid for.

I have stayed at this magical spot several times in recent years. It sold a couple of years ago, and was renovated this past year. Prices skyrocketed, the free breakfast disappeared but the rooms got spruced up a bit. For over $500+ for a night, I ended up in a double double at the back of a cabin. At those prices I won't be coming back any time soon....too bad, I loved this spot.

We booked a king cottage suite for 2 nights and it was the best decision we ve made during this trip! The inn was beautiful and in a great location. The room was very chic and clean (it might be small to someone else but it worked perfectly for us and our toddler who slept in the living room). It was newly renovated with nice furniture and we talked to some people who were staying at the same time - they had visited here in the past before ownership changed and were happy about it. Our cottage was in the back so even though it was not facing the oceanfront, it was very quite. The water pressure was great and there was only one window AC in the bedroom but since we are from NYC and it was cooler at night, not an issue for us. The staff was helpful, welcoming, and friendly. Very easy to communicate via texts. There was a cute gift shop near the reception, loved it! The best part was the kitchen/restaurant/bar in the property. We didn t have to worry about driving, just 1 min walk from the cottage. The service and menu was great. Also there s a vending machine (for sodas) and free ice dispenser outside. Very convenient. The salt water pool was really nice, too. The price for the stay was high but I checked other places, they were similar but not as nice. I understand it s a seasonal place in a prime area/season. Overall, we are very happy about our stay. Hope to come back in the future.

Location, location, location! Overall a win - staff is great, we liked our room (recommend the stand-alone Glimpse cottage for a couple - very small but quiet), beds were super comfy and the view is spectacular. We spent an afternoon reading on the chairs overlooking the water. Very peaceful. There are a few hiccups - shower gel has an awful minty odor, towels were a bit mildowy smelling and the shower doesn t have a door but a small glass pane that extends only 1/2 down the wall so you end up with a soaking wet bathroom floor after each shower. Also, they need to figure out breakfast - when we checked in we received a breakfast menu that looked good but arrived for breakfast to find that there is only a meager continental breakfast available (which we came to find out was actually included in our room). I know it is a work in progress so we tried to be patient. But kudos to the staff, they were pleasant and lovely.

My wife and I stayed here the last five, maybe six years and enjoyed it. The resort sold over the 21/22 winter and things changed, like higher rooms costs, no room service, no more complimentary breakfast adding sixteen bucks a day per person and a few other things. The rooms are falling into disrepair, you need to go ask for fresh towels and dinner costs rose dramatically. For lunch we needed to drive many miles for even a burger. A couple years ago at least there was a food truck out by the pool.We have already planned a couple trips this summer and Ocean Point won't be one of them. Too bad really, we enjoyed the place until last year....Rooms: Need a lot of attention....

My fianc & I stayed here last minute for one night, and were very happy with our decision! We were arriving late but the front desk left everything for us so we could get into our room. Room had 1 queen bed, and was very spacious. Also had a mini fridge. The room & bathroom could use some updating but was what we expected for the price. The location is wonderful, right on the water! There s also a nice outdoor pool, although we didn t use that. We had breakfast at the restaurant. Was okay, if we stayed another night we prob would have looked to eat elsewhere. We d stay here again, especially for the price.

This was our first visit & hopefully not our last. The location is pristine, the staff friendly and helpful, the surrounding neighborhood cottage owners couldn't have been nicer as we took our coastal daily walk. It was like stepping back in time the way folks used to travel...relaxing!! The pool was a wonderful treat after a long day taking in the breathtaking views , exploring the area and relaxing in one of the many Adirondack chairs at the edge of the ocean with cocktail in hand. Picture opportunities abound here! If you're looking for a "resort" with granite counters in an oversized bathroom type room move on but if you're looking for a generationally beloved unforgettable location with clean rooms and comfy beds than look no further! Bad reviewers should read the history of the inn before you write negatively. Sure, some of the room decor is dated but the remarkable history & location is what makes this a truly unique place to stay.

We were there to celebrate my birthday and it is such a beautiful resort , you can just sit in your private balcony and view gorgeous sunset , enjoy sounds of ocean waves chirping of birds. They do have beautiful bar with lot of amazing drink options . You can get the drinks and relax in the chair and watch sunset . Their in-house restaurant is also amazing. Chef did went out of the way and prepare vegan food for me on my special day . I highly recommend this place if you are in your vacation in Boothbay Harbor !

We had a great stay in a unit that was small, but quiet and well furnished. The breakfasts are great and we also enjoyed a lovely dinner by the windows looking out at the sunset. Staff very friendly. One thing that is not working well is that the TV is Roku--many channels, but not able to see local channels or major networks. Very disappointing not to be able to watch our favorite baseball team. But we'll be back next year!

Wonderful location. Sun sets viewed from the restaurant from all tables. Rooms clean and functional. Only 4 star as they have small bathrooms. The rooms are better than we expected from other reviews.Restaurant had a good selection of seafood, polite, attentive staff and wonderful live background music.

Did not stay in the inn, but ate at the restaurant. We were there just two days after the restaurant opened under new management (6/11/23). The menu was limited, but the meals were very good. Everyone in our party of four commented on how good each of our meals were. The staff was attentive. The bartender is quite gregarious and friendly. Give it a try, it is very good.

ONLY PRO: Location! So pretty right on the water.CONS: We were told our room was in the front facing the water. It was not at all. The room smelled like your grandmother's musty attic. There was a dehumidifier in the room but it was not ON when we arrived. I'm sure that's why there was a dampness to the carpet. Bathroom was tiny. But can we talk about the bed? My husband said it felt like plywood with a sleeping bag on top. WORST bed we slept in as we moved up the coast of Maine. Stains on sheets and chair. The room was also attached to the stairs so after we went to bed all we heard was the thump thump thump as kids ran up and down. Fun! I guess someone has to get the worse room on the property and we chose the short straw!AND a Manager doesn't work on Saturday! How crazy is that? Someone from the property was supposed to reach out yesterday per Reception, but no one ever did. Too expensive for a terrible night's sleep. We expected so much more from the pictures of this beautiful seaside property.

Ate here four times during our stay and was always pleased with quality and quantity. The blueberry lemon curd parfait with a moose sugar cookie became my must have dessert. Super friendly waitstaff too.

It was not a nice experience at all. The room was supposed to be a sea view, it was not. The room has window AC units that you could not sleep in while it s on because they are so noisy. They did not allow us to check in till 4 pm. When we want to check out the latest, they gave us is 11:00 AM. Even though I spoke with the manager, she said we are fully booked, and we can t give you more than 11:30. During my stay I need to ask questions. I called the front desk (reception) and there was no one picking up the phone at 5 PM. Instead answering machine service answered me. Also, it was way overpriced. Never again.

My wife and I have been coming here for close to 20 years, and our most recent stay was a huge disappointment. We always had a great experience at Ocean Point with the accomodations and the food. But several things have changed. When we got there to check in at 3pm, we were told th that our room would not be ready until 4pm, due to staff shortages. So me made the best of it, and enjoyed the beautiful view. They said they would call when the room was ready. When it got to be 4:15 we checked with them, and they said is was ready, but no call to us. So we went up to the room, and it was dirty, and my wife went and complained, and they said they would give us another room. When we finally found it, it was worse than the room we booked. We went and asked for a refund, which they gave us. So on top of this discouragement, they told us that the menu changed and they were not serving a full menu, only a pub menu for the days booked, which had no items for gluten free options. Also, they now charge for breakfast, at $16 per person. None of these changes are in their web site. Supposedly changes are being made for the future, but it will be a long time until we visit this place again. Very Sad!!

Prior to reserving a room, I read a few reviews about the inn. The vast majority of them were very positive with some comments complaining about the age of the rooms, saying they needed upgrades. Well, my wife and I spent the night and she doesn't want to leave. If you are looking for a clean, friendly place to "travel back in time" this is a must. Ocean Point is over 120 years old and overlooks a quaint little harbor that leads to the ocean, you would think you are 100 miles from the nearest city. Being from Michigan the best way I can describe it is that it reminds me of a miniature version of the Grand Hotel on Mackinaw Island. If you are contemplating staying, do it!

Was 5 Stars but changed after secound night, different room. The location and set up of the units are ideal. The buildings are very aged but kept up, neatly and clean. On the property there is a very nice restaurant. A delicious breakfast with many varieties were included. The hospitality and care was top-notch during breakfast.***I hope they always keep the prices low and do not reconstruct the buildings.Feel in love with this area. So very peaceful and beautiful. The timing of our trip in September helped with the serenity. We spent many hours on the rocky shores.****Don't reconstruct but DO some upkeep! Stayed our second time in a different room which was clean but needs updated.

Very pretty hotel right on the ocean.. Amazing views of the sunsets. Great room very modern with elegant atmosphere. Loved the 4 post king size bed. Omg! Fabulous windows! Comfortable chairs to sit in and enjoy the view. Oh and 411 (ladies) there is a mirror AND sink OUTSIDE the main bathroom. Where you can wash up and do your makeup WITHOUT a crowded situation. breakfast was delicious. Compliments to the kitchen staff. Everything was clean and tidy. Thanks to all the staff for making this experience wonderful.

Great view, free breakfast which was good.. dinner was okay very expensive with small portions. The rooms were very dated, the bed was hard, bathroom was tight you could see outside the window not enough frost on it.. no microwave.. windows was hard to open.. carpet had stains on it.. staff was great though.. If the rooms were updated I would consider coming back!! Boothbay harbor was great to visit.. nice boat ride and alot of shops!

Scenic and quiet. Friendly staff. Outdated room for our stay was clean but illfitting doors and drooping ceiling tiles were a disappointment. No hot tub as indicated on Google but a lovely outdoor heated salt water pool was available. Better signage is needed to identify rooms, and restaurant entrance. Also lighting for the outdoor seating area, we observed several tables after sunset eating in the dark while torches and fire pit remained unlit.

The location is beautiful! Our meals, both breakfast & dinner were delicious. However, we stayed in the Glimpse Cottage & we were slightly disappointed. It wasn t very clean, marks on the mirror, hairs found in the bathroom & the worst part were the spiders! We saw them everywhere (in & out) it was unfortunate because it made the cottage less than desirable to stay & relax in!
