This definitely should not be listed as an award-winning Hotel. They charge over $200 a night, and it was definitely not worth that much money. The rooms are incredibly small. The walls are paper thin and we were kept up all night by somebody playing their TV right next to our heads. The sink in the bathroom does not drain there was a giant crack in the bathtub. All the like metal towel racks and everything were rusted off. If you just want to place to sleep for a night good luck. I will not be staying there again because it was way too expensive for what you got. The only positive was Megan the housekeeper who was an amazing Ray of sunshine. She's deserves to work someplace much better.Rooms: Small, loud, sink didn't drain, tub had large crack

My family of four visited Boothbay for the Gardens Aglow night at the botanical gardens. Overall we were pleased with our stay at Flagship Inn. When we first arrived we were welcomed kindly by who I believe was the owner. When we arrived at our room we walked into a decently sized room (for the price). Two twin size beds, mini fridge, little flatscreen television, a nice table, and a small bath with a shower/tub and tiny toilet, there is a door separating the shower and toilet from the sink. Customer service was great and there was little to no hassle for check-in, BUT I will say I have a couple critiques. Firstly, the pillows were quite uncomfortable. I woke up with some neck pain, nothing severe but it s less than desirable. Second, As we were winding down for bed I figured I d find something to put on the small flatscreen. Unfortunately the ONLY things that worked on the remote were the power button, volume, and mute. As you would believe that s very frustrating when you don t just want to watch college football from the guide menu. Lastly, the sink drain would not work. We had to remove the drain plug because the lever wouldn t do anything. I know these are minor issues but they contributed to this not being a 5-star experience. Something I was very impressed with was the free continental breakfast. At $119 for one night in a two bed motel room I was not expecting breakfast to be provided. There is a very nice Flagship Restaurant With several tables and booths. My rating of the food is 7/10, The pancakes were a bit flavorless but the eggs were nice. The milk may have been a bit past date so didn t finish cereal but it is what it is. Location has got zero sightseeing but I ve gotta say it s in a nice spot. A couple minute s drive from downtown, with gas stations and convenience stores within walking distance. I would stay here again and probably recommend to a friend. The three star overall review is due to me being hard to please and a tough reviewer. Thanks to the guys at Flagship for a good stay. Attached below are a couple pics of the garden and a view of the ocean (we had to drive to see, this is not a view from the motel).

When I arrived I was hopeful as the lobby was decently maintained and the staff was friendly. The room was dirty, someone else s pizza was left in the microwave. The tv was unplugged and didn t work after plugging it in, the sheets looked as if they hadn t been washed. Wrinkly and slept in looking. Not to mention that the doors didn t have a secondary security lock on them which in my experience is a standard safety precaution.

Nice little place in a nice location. Close to town makes it quick and easy to navigate, location off main road is much quieter than anticipated. We enjoyed a few walks through the adjacent Penny Lake Preserve, and ice cream after from the cute little shop right in the parking lot. The breakfast offerings include a couple hot options, plus standard continental things. Nothing spectacular, but decent enough for a quick start.Nearby activities: Everything is right there - Penny Lake Preserve, Ocean Drive, Downtown BoothBay, and anything you could need is within walking distance. Walgreens, Hannaford s, Gas Station, Ice Cream Shop, Small Town Diner, and more. Convenient and clean. Plus, the newly renovated rooms are very nice.

Clean rooms. Comfortable beds. Nice location - very quiet. Just a short drive to Boothbay Harbor shops & waterfront. We enjoyed swimming in the heated outdoor pool and relaxing in the hot tub. We ate dinner at the inn's restaurant one night (the Anchor Restaurant), and the food was very good - especially the lobster rolls. They also had a continental breakfast in the lobby, which was very convenient.

The Inn is very clean, the grounds are clean too and well maintained. The beds and pillows were comfortable. It is walking distance from the harbor if you choose to walk on a beautiful day. 7 minutes away from the Botanical Garden. A very good location. The rooms are a bit outdated. The information on the information folder is outdated too when it says continental breakfast is in the restaurant. It is not. It's where you check in which is so small we decided to eat out. The only day I checked what the continental breakfast was it consisted on muffins and already made pancakes. They have the machines for coffee and such beverages, juices too. I recommend this Inn for cleanliness and the location.Rooms: A bit outdated but clean and comfortable.Nearby activities: Walking distance from harbor.

The room was filthy and I would not even put my luggage down. The desk person said he would upgrade me to a renovated room. I replied that after seeing the disgusting unrenovated room he originally assigned me, why would I think that any other room would be clean?Rooms: There is wall to wall carpeting in the bathroom that was gross. The desk clerk said because I booked through Expedia, he couldn't refund my money.

my room smelled musty, out dated with original mold/infested rug and original wallpaper decor. Definite health concern for anyone especially compromised immune systems. They are updating some rooms but fail to disclose the worst of them. Location is not convenient for walking into town. Busy road ,hill and need to cross for sidewalk. Felt ripped off paying $240 a night. Plenty of cute places to stay in the heart of town. This is not a good start for the new owners.

TLDR: Save yourself the trouble and stay elsewhere. This place is a disaster, I have no idea why it s so well reviewed. The shower head was broken, so I mentioned it to the front desk, next day still no repair. Came back to the room after it was cleaned to find hair on the floor. The towels at the pool are falling apart. I could go on and on, but you get the picture. I left a day early, even though I was still going to be charged for it, and got a room at another hotel. Nuff said.

Great price for the area, great ice cream stand in the parking lot, and convenient location to downtown and the Botanical Gardens. If you're a haphazard and half-a$$ed suitcase packer like myself, you will also enjoy that this hotel is directly across the street from Family Dollar, Walgreens, Circle K, and next door to Hannaford. Now for the cons. I generally have a "no negative review" rule here on the Internets. I believe that one person's singular bad experience doesn't necessarily mean the business is bad, and some people out there are just total "Karens." Unless however your name is actually Karen, then I apologize. I digress. This is my critique: The hotel is in desperate need of some updates, renovation, and maintenance work. The new hotel owner bought this property within the last year, and it has not seen any updates in 15 years. They have plans to begin the renovation work by the beginning of 2024. We had a small maintenance issue with our room and the employees were there within minutes to remedy the appliance, which they did. In fact, all of the employees - front desk, maintenance, housekeeping - were all really top-notch people. Really great staff despite the building literally falling apart around them (burst water pipe in the ceiling that took out a few rooms). Kudos to the management for their great crew. The pool was actually really nice and refreshing after a long day of kayaking around the harbor. Perfect temperature for both hot tub and cool pool. My last con would be the breakfast. It was your standard "motel breakfast fare," which is fine when it's free, but I did feel like it deserves a makeover like the rest of the hotel. I would book this hotel again knowing that the problems we had were efficiently remedied, and I'm very excited to book this hotel again once the renovation is completed next year.

Visited last week. Very disappointed. Rooms and overall quality were subpar and antiquated. Wall socket extremely loose; king mattress and blanket (?) were thin and lumpy. Sit on the foot of the bed and the head of the bed went up in the air. Soda machine did not work; the ice machine, despite signs, did not exist. Free breakfast consisted ONLY of frozen Jimmy Dean sausage sandwiches, no eggs, cereal, muffins, toast or juice! On site restaurant was closed. The only good thing was the parking outside the room door, and Boothbay Harbor was a nice town. Looked like a 1950s motel. Hopefully, new management is listening because no repeat business could exist without a severe upgrade of the facilities. A reimbursement should have been offered.

We weren't sure what we'd find for the price. The rooms were clean. The staff is great! The location is quiet as it is 9/10's of a mile from the Harbor. The continental breakfast was fine. We had planned on using the Trolley, which stops at the hotel. We were there for a cruise so we went to wait out front at 11 AM. When it didn't show up, I went into the office and found that it wasn't running that day. There should have been a notice on the Trolley Schedule sign. I had to pay $40.00 to park in town. We were told that the hotel is under new ownership. While we were there the dumpster was full of old flooring and they were unloading new lawn chairs. We would definitely stay there again.

We stayed in a pet friendly room. The room was clean, but smelled mildewy. The room could definitely use some updating, and there were no charging stations for cell phones. I appreciated the lawn area and the hiking trail. The pool was a hit with my kids. The hotel is in a great location, close to shops and a short walk to the harbor. The continental breakfast was a disappointment. Very limited in choices. Bananas were the only fresh fruit choice, the bacon was not very good and there were no eggs. My family and I chose to eat somewhere else the next day. Fortunately, we found so much to do that we weren t in our room much . Would not stay here again.

The room was clean and neat. Good ventilation. The toilet was a bit loose on the base. Easy fix. The fridge was larger than a standard cube and the microvwave was clean and in good working order. We had plenty of fresh towels and toiletries. Replacement linens were easily obtained as we opted to not have our room cleaned for the duration of our four night stay. Friendly helpful staff and a nice continental breakfast. The heated pool was a bit cool and needed to be skimmed for detritus but it was definitely swimmable. Plenty of fresh towels on hand there too. Convenient location with a nature trail just steps from the property, a reasonably priced restaurant across the street and a grocery store four doors down. The ice cream shop in the parking lot was just a bonus. Happily stay again if we are in the area!

It was a pleasant stay. I believe it was the owner who checked me in, pretty late in the evening too. Very friendly and helpful. I didn't get to try the pool but it looked pretty nice. The breakfast was marginal. I don't know if they were out of things or what, but it was not a good selection. The lady who checked me out was disinterested and didn't ask about my stay, didn't tell me my total amount due, just handed me my receipt and said "you're all set" - a thank you would be nice. I would stay again and recommend to others, but it's nothing spectacular.

We checked in here when we visited the coast of Maine for vacation. We booked the room with the manager, Nancy, which was very nice, but she only works during the week. The weekend manager did not honor our coupon and wasn't very friendly. The rooms were OK. It didn't look like anybody cleaned the floor in a while or swept it. Unfortunately, that was the only place that had rooms in the area at the time. Everything was booked. It worked for us. The served breakfast: coffee, juices, yogurt, bread and sausage. For some reason, they didn't serve eggs. If you're just looking for a place to sleep and shower, that's the place.

Our family vacation was in Boothbay Harbor. It was easy to drive or even walk to the town from this location. This hotel was clean and quiet. Breakfast was ok but was the same every morning so it became a bit monotonous after 4 days. People at the front desk and in the breakfast room weren't overly friendly but they weren't unfriendly either. Nothing fancy or special here but it was adequate for our stay. A beautiful park with a nice hiking trail is located very close to this hotel. That was definitely a bonus.

The room had a very old style and did not smell fresh. The air conditioning very noisy but the beds were ok. The continental breakfast was quite terrible: the bagels were rubbery, the orange juice tasted like water and no choice of yogourt flavor. You gotta like bananas. At $200. A night. I feel i have been exploited. The right price should be not more than $125.

I have stayed in many major hotel chains all over and have never received such amazing and welcoming service. From the moment I called for a room in a panic due to a family member passing Megan helped me get a room despite the fact they were fully booked. Blaze gave us the warmest welcome and Gavin was there to answer our questions and assist us whenever we needed help. The room was clean and up to par along with the pool to cool off on a hot summer day! A huge thank you to the amazing staff here I couldn t be more grateful.
