My husband and I decided to spend a special anniversary in Bar Harbor this past weekend; our first time to Maine. Everyone said "what will you do in Maine in December?" It really was "what wouldn't we enjoy about being in Maine in December?" And it all started with the Primrose Inn. The Inn is located less than 10 minutes walking distance from downtown Bar Harbor. It stands out with its welcoming warm tones and friendly staff. We were greeted by the Inn Keeper, Brandon and checked in by Walker. Walker spent lots of time with us talking through restaurants and things to do in town. The room was quite comfortable and very well decorated.Suzie puts together some amazing, delicious and filling breakfasts and serves with a small and a conversation! The team nailed the 5 star from us after we had the pleasure of talking to Walker (who surprised us by making a blueberry cheesecake for us for our anniversary). Brandon went above and beyond the day of our anniversary when he traveled to another site to pick up a decanter for us for a special wine we brought. Talk about exceeding expectations for customer service. We were already talking about plans for annual trips up there before we even left, including a trip up next year with the kids.

This is an amazing bed and breakfast. It looks like a scene out of White Christmas or a Hallmark move during December. The common area and fireplace were inviting. The room was clean, well maintained and very comfortable. Suzie was an amazing hostess. She was up very early to ensure we got breakfast before an early departure. The bell pepper aioli quiche, spiced pumpkin donut and seasoned potatoes were perfect. Above and beyond customer service.

Cute little bed and breakfast. The breakfast and snacks were good. Pretty good location. I think if I was going again I d try to be closer to downtown area but it was within walking distance. Room was clean and comfortable. The staff was probably the nicest we encountered on our trip. Only complaint, I felt it was way overpriced for a small room with no amenities.

This is a crowning example of what a need and breakfast should be like. Kind, humble, and welcoming personalities (thank you Brandon). Incredible breakfasts each morning full of both sweet and savory options (thank you Jason). And great gluten free options, just give them a heads up in advance. They offered great suggestions of places to visit and restaurants to eat. The hotel is the old kind with character and clean (not old and gross). They ve been able to successfully maintain a beautiful place in a prime location in Bar Harbor. Must visit! So many positive interactions with the staff. We came in late last night after a fun day and my wife and daughter had a slice of blueberry pie that they needed heated up to go with a large scoop of ice cream. The sweet woman at the front desk, took it to the kitchen, warmed it up, and then talked with us all about Maine, life in the winter v the summer, and she answered our questions about what brought her here from Alabama and D.C. So fun. Thanks to the entire staff of Primrose Inn. We ll be back!

Stayed with them for the week and had a wonderful experience. The food was amazing, prepared by Jarves , Stephen and Suzie. They did not disappoint with the double options every morning. Suzie also gave us plenty of ideas of places to go and visit, which helped a lot! Tyler and Anna when working the front desk were very polite and welcoming. Billy and Andrez made sure all our housekeeping needs were met, keeping our rooms always perfect, I am definitely coming back and will definitely tell people to come check them out.

What an amazing place! We were greeted by Anna at checkin and she was wonderful! She made everything feel like home- including tea time and their incredible tea and sweets selections. The room was perfect, and had a fun wall paper of the island! The Primrose Inn has thought of everything possible to make your stay feel like home but also like luxury!I cannot say enough how much we enjoyed the breakfast here. Each morning they had a sweet and savory option and every morning was better than the last. Billy and the other waiters were wonderful and all had on fun printed shirts. The talented chef- Stephen, was so personable and even shared some recipes with me! His baked goods at tea time (4-6?) we re a highlight of the trip for this sweet tooth. Brandon and Suzie at the front desk gave wonderful recommendations and were genuinely excited to hear about our travels. The location was perfect, close enough to the main area to walk, but also removed a bit to be private and quiet. All in all, I was sad to leave here to travel home! We will definitely be back!

The staff who were there during breakfast, were super friendly and courteous. We were there to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary and it couldn't have turned out more special. T & E

This was a wonderful find! The breakfasts and snacks were outstanding, the whole place was so quiet and cozy, but each staff member went over the top to make sure we were comfortable and had whatever we needed! Especially during the tropical storm! We were all so thankful we were there! So thank you so much to Brandon, Anna, Tyler, Billy, and Stephen! You re the best!

We had a lovely experience at The Primrose Inn. The staff including Anna, Tyler, Billy, Stephen and of course Branden were excellent and very attentive. Our room was quaint including a porch with rocking chairs where we could observe the hummingbirds. Our breakfasts and tea times were absolutely delicious. We would definitely recommend this Inn to travelers!

What a wonderful experience staying at this establishment. The room was second to none.Beautifully decorated and plenty of natural light. We stayed in Suite 1 which included a private deck and separate full bath. The staff was even nice enough to come up in the fireplace on May 1st. The breakfast was delicious + healthy. We had a baby and the Inn was very accommodating. Bringing up a crib as well as giving him a separate bowl of fresh berries for breakfast in the morning. Upon check-in there is warm tea, cookies, and mouthwatering magic bars waiting for the guests. An Inn is only as good as its staff and everyone we encountered was friendly, professional, and more than willing to accommodate our requests! We will recommend Primrose to anyone looking for a relaxing stay! A true B&B experience in one of Maine's quaintest towns!

We had such a wonderful stay here for our anniversary weekend, we are born and raised Mainers and wanted to play tourist for the weekend and I couldn t have chosen a better hotel. The staff here are incredibly kind and absolute top notch customer service unparalleled by any other hotel I have stayed at. The breakfast was way beyond my expectations, and the home cooked afternoon snacks are such a nice touch. This is by FAR the cleanest hotel room I have ever stayed in out of all the hotels I ve stayed at across the country. It also had a cute antique feel while maintaining it s modernity with clean new beds, new bathtubs, and the SOFTEST bed sheets I have ever slept on. I usually struggle to sleep anywhere but my own bed and I fell asleep here no problem. The locally made in maine hand soap was such a nice touch too. I can t say enough good things. Thank you again to the staff for being so kind and helpful you truly made the stay so enjoyable.

I booked last minute due to booking a dump down the street and forfeiting that room. It was an amazing experience from the phone call for a room to our entry, to the room and the service. Writing this at 7:56am as soon as I awoke. Beyond thrilled and so grateful to have stayed here it made this leg of our trip. I cannot imagine if we had stayed at the place we originally booked. A+. Book it. I wish I saved the hassle and $ and did it the first time.

We just got back from a three night stay at the Primrose and wish we could have stayed forever! The Inn is the most picturesque New England BnB. Every detail of our room was thoughtful and well designed, from the wallpaper and the fireplace to the wall sconces. The location is perfect - a quick walk to all the restaurants and shops of Bar Harbor, and of course, a quick drive to Acadia National Park. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious every single morning. The best part was the afternoon treats left out - which really hit the spot after a long day of hiking. We will definitely be back!

We stayed for a few nights in Fall of 2022. This was our first time at a true bed and breakfast and we were not disappointed! The breakfast was spectacular and the location is great for walking to all the restaurants and shops in Bar Harbor. We originally booked a King room and while they accidentally put us in a Queen upon arrival, there were no issues getting refunded the difference in the room price. We would not hesitate to visit again, highly recommended!

Wonderful stay! Rooms are clean, spacious and beautiful. Beds are very comfortable, way better than hotels. Bathrooms is well equipped and great. The property is beautiful, they have chairs and tables to sit on the patio and just enjoy. And the breakfast, delicious. Would love it if breakfast had more vegetarian options. Would stay here again.

We just checked out this morning and I could not be happier with our stay at this gorgeous Inn.First off, the location is unbeatable, easy to walk into town or a less than 5 minute drive to everything.Second, the staff is so attentive and helpful. Sarah in the mornings was so friendly and cheerful and Juliana at night was warm, hospitable, full of recommendations of all the fun local things to do and has great taste in music to boot! The rooms are beautifully decorated and comfortable, we got a great night sleep.Breakfast is included and it was delicious, Katrina and Jane, the chefs, prepared something new every day! Katrina s maple pecan scones are to die for, made getting up early In the morning beyond worth it, they also have tea time at 6 where they serve yummy pastries and have tea and coffee available. They also provide local soaps to use, which smelled amazing!Location is super close to Acadia National Park as well.We will be coming back next summer and won t hesitate to book here again.

First and foremost, the breakfast is next level. It was, in fact, the deciding point for where to stay and it more than delivered. Afternoon snack/tea time is the same, and there are often leftovers to take with you. Evening wine as well. Service is top-notch, friendly, and exceptional. We stayed in the king suite with the private entrance and a semi-private porch. The room was clean and comfortable. Reserved parking. Highly recommend and would definitely return.Noteworthy details: Breakfast and staff.

The breakfasts are SPECTACULAR! We stayed for 6 nights. Jill and Brandon are AMAZING and so accommodating. The inn is very well located, walking distance to the village green where all the shops and restaurants are located. The park is less than a 10 minute drive, some days we rode our bikes into the park. Our room was clean and very comfortable with a private porch where we rocked on our own rocking chairs daily. Make sure to arrive before 5 because the staff prepares afternoon snacks/baked goods, which really hit the spot after a day of hiking. We will absolutely be returning.

We stayed at the Primrose for 4 nights. The Inn is everything we d hoped for in a New England inn/B&B. The staff, particularly Jill and Tyler, but also the young, man working at night, were friendly and helpful, thinking of things that we had not, to make our stay even more pleasant. The breakfasts and afternoon treats were delectable and beautifully presented. Our room was clean, comfortable, and spacious, and the outdoor porch spaces, a welcome place to start and end our day. Things you might not consider, like the softness of linens and towels and deliciously-scented, locally-crafted soap, made for a luxurious stay! The Inn is a five-minute drive from the Acadia park entrance and a easy 10-minute walk to the downtown waterfront park, restaurants, and shops. Most highly, recommended!

Just spent 4 nights at The Primrose and it was absolutely amazing!!! Beautiful bed n breakfast with an amazing staff. Brandon the inn keeper has developed a great staff that could not have treated us any better. The attention to detail and care for us could not have been any better. Jill was incredibly friendly and accommodating to us each and every day. And her genuine friendliness will definitely lead her to bigger and better things for her. Kiki the head chef made incredibly unique and delicious choices for breakfast each day. Rosa the chef we had the first two days was equally creative and breakfast was absolutely delicious. Finally Orlando looked after us and any needs or wants we had in our rooms.I will definitely be back and recommend staying at The Primrose !!Thanks again to all the The Primrose staff.

If you're looking for a cozy, beautiful, and overall just amazing place to stay in Bar Harbor, check this place out! The Primrose Inn exceeded our expectations in every way.We spoke briefly with the individual at the front desk when we checked in about how we were planning to wake up early for the sunrise at Cadillac Mountain. She told us she'd have some coffee ready for us. When we stopped by, not only was there a fresh carafe of coffee waiting for us, but a bag of snacks with a hand-written note for us.I would give them 6 stars if I could.

My husband and I enjoyed a multi-day visit last week and really felt welcomed by Jill who made our stay very comfortable. She offered lots of tips for our visit and showed a great deal of thoughtfulness throughout. The breakfasts and afternoon treats were delicious and fueled our hiking and biking. Thank you!

Very nice B&B. Room was immaculate, bed was extremely comfortable, breakfast was quite good. Our first floor room had a lovely private deck off the back. Helpful staff. Convenient location to downtown Bar Harbor. Room furniture was a little awkward with only one sitting chair. Basic clean-up like making the bed and emptying the trash was done on a request basis only.

Great place to stay in Bar Harbor. A short walk to the center of town. Dedicated parking for each room. Friendly and welcoming small team. Stayed in room #1 for two nights and the room was recently redone. The balcony was a good spot to chill at. Loved the bathroom spacious, clean and modern. Best part was the breakfast delicious Nantucket pie (they should serve it every day!) Great afternoon tea treats too. Highly recommend.
