Cant recommend these guys enough. I was recommended here by several people who have lived here for years and I have not been disappointed by their services. I have run into several issues with my car this winter after moving up here and they have done such a great job at helping me out and being accommodating. They have managed to get me in last minute and always try to get my car in as soon as they can. As a young woman who knows just about nothing about cars, I realize I am a prime target for mechanics trying to make extra money. These guys are always honest with me about what is going on with my car and I fully trust them to not overcharge me. Wilder even helped me out and drove with me to work this morning with my car and took it back to the shop so they can look at it while I am at work. They all truly care about the people they service and I will be bringing any vehicle I own to them as long as I live here!

I don t have enough positive words to do justice for these guys. Our Ford van gave a service engine error while in Acadia. The Ford places were unable to help us for days. We were referred to Bob s by some locals so we took our van there the next morning and was there before they opened. Obviously we didn t have an appointment but the guys worked us in, diagnosed the problem and ordered the necessary sensor. They were fantastic to work with and had us back on our vacation without a hitch. I particularly appreciated their calmness and easy going demeanor. Helped with my stress level! Our car broke down in Acadia National Park on a Saturday afternoon while we were visiting from Massachusetts. It got towed to Bobs around 430pm and the shop was closed. Around 630pm we went back to the shop and were going to try some simple fixes we had found on YouTube.Nick happened to be there working on a car but obviously this was not during his regular work hours. I let him know we were just checking some things on our car and he asked what was not working. He immediately came over and popped the hood. Diagnosed the issue within 5 minutes and set to work on fixing it. Again at 630pm on a Saturday.Nick found a small piece in the shop and fixed the car so that we could get home (we were leaving the next day). It would have cost us so much more money to stay until Monday potentially rent a car etc. and he fixed it without even asking. He did remind us this was a temporary fix, showed us how to fix it if we got stuck again and that we needed to get a permanent fix once we got home.I would 100% recommend this shop to anyone. Their service is above and beyond. Thank you so much for helping us out this weekend.

On 7/31/23, I went to the shop 30 minutes before opening. I explained to the mechanic that I noticed a small nail in my tire, had been driving the car and the tire pressure had NOT decreased at all in past 24 hours, but I wanted to know whether it needed fixing , the mechanic told me he can patch it and quickly was about to remove the nail while it was still in the parking lot (not inside the shop). I asked him to hold up, before you remove that nail, what is price? And wait time? He answered $46 and maybe 1.5 hours, I didn t have that time and felt price was steep for a patch. so I moved on. (If nail was removed and it had penetrated, I would have been held captive to whatever price and timing they wanted. I just didn t understand the rush to remove the nail)

In and out in 3 hours with a repaired tire with no appointment. They swapped my tire requiring repair with my spare so I had my car with zero downtime. Spent my time enjoying Bar Harbor. I wrench my cars and appreciate the knowledge of the mechanics. Thanks guys.

While driving thru Acadia in my convertible I heard a click click click and pulled over to find a roofing nail in the rear wheel of my Porsche. Bobs auto took us immediately and fixed the hole with a patch. Thank God for Chris the Tech and Amy in the office!Service: TiresService: Tires

This place is great! Went in with no appointment, just a suspicion of low/leaking engine coolant, and Nick came out very quickly to check the car. He put our fears to rest by letting us know there weren't any issues, and didn't charge us. We made the long drive back to Boston with no issues. Thanks Nick!

I pulled into bob s because my tire pressure light came on after driving from Boston to Acadia. One of the mechanics came out and serviced my tires so quickly; I would make bob s my go-to mechanic if I lived here!

Bobs Auto Repair was fantastic in helping repair my brakes! While visiting from out of town, my car became undriveable. Everyone at the shop was incredibly communicative, kind, and fair when diagnosing and quickly fixing the problem. Im so grateful for Bobs Auto, they saved out trip!

On vacation from Indiana, we were visiting Acadia NP. We got back into our van and it wouldn t start. After finding someone with jumper cables 30 minutes later, we looked up this place to see if they could help us with a battery. We didn t call ahead, didn t have a reservation. Walked in and Grayson behind the counter found us the battery we needed, installed it himself, and gave us a great deal! They were so fast that our family of 4 boys didn t even have to get out of the van! We were so thankful for this place and HIGHLY recommend it!Services: Electrical, Battery

Our brakes started making a grinding noise while we were in Bar Harbor for vacation, and they got us in same-day to take a look at the issue. While they were very busy (always a good sign!) they managed to squeeze us in and fix the car within just a few days (including new parts). They were super friendly, knowledgeable, and committed to getting things fixed so we could make the long drive back to Boston safely. Thank you!

In Bar Harbor on vacation. Had an ignition problem for about three weeks but couldn't get a garage to run a diagnostic while traveling.Found Bob's garage on internet and they took the car immediately, diagnosed and fix the problem the same day, even though they had a lot full of cars already schedule for maintenance.The shop was friendly, helpful and very professional.

Bob saved our family vacation!! We took a walk on Bar Island and came back to our vehicle to discover we forgot to fully shut it off and our battery was dead. Within 10 minutes Bob personally came out to jump start us. We then went back to his shop where he did an in depth test and he topped all our fluids and tires. The entire time he was extremely kind, friendly and professional. We cannot thank him enough for all his help!! Thank you!!Service: Battery

First of all, a big thank you to Bob's Bar Harbor for saving this Mom an 8 hr. trip from NJ on July 4th weekend.My daughter and her boyfriend went on their first camping trip July 4th weekend. We are from NJ so I was already not happy about her being 8 hrs. away from home in a 2011 car. After climbing Cadillac Mt. the check engine light came on and was flashing (we've had the light come on before but never flashing) so we had her go back to the campsite for the night and the next morning I began reading reviews on Goggle for repair shops.Bob's immediately stood out because several NJ folks talked about Bob's shop helping them while on vacation. So I called them (this is all from NJ) explained the situation and was told to have them drop off the car even though they were slammed with repairs to do. The gentleman ordered some parts in anticipation of what could be wrong. This was a Friday, so if they couldn't fix it, there would be no one open for repairs until the following Tuesday so I'd be driving up to Maine in my 2004 mini van to get them as they had nowhere to stay and were not old enough to book a motel room.My daughter dropped off the car, said the shop was polite and calm with her, she was very upset and told them to go have lunch and relax.I got a call a couple hours later that the car was fixed enough to get her back to Jersey, but that the car needed a full tune up (which he didn't have time to do, which I fully understood) and that the car needed a new intake breather hose (which they didn't have for our model/year, again, fine for a holiday weekend) $112 later my daughter was on her way and this mom didn't have to drive 8 hrs. to get them!!!!Thanks again for the help and for your advice on the future car repairs, it's in the shop now getting fixed for our drive to Cape Cod soon!!! Would give 6 stars if I could. Fast, friendly, affordable, and knowledgeable. On vacation my battery died and they took great care of me and got me back on the road in time. Had great conversations about the local area and people. Would 100% recommend to anyone having car trouble around Bar Harbor.

On vacation on the weekend nobody except Bob's would check out whether our car was safe to drive hime with a bad brake noise. Based on their quick inspection I was confident that I could continue home at least. Warning don't have auto problems on Mt. Desert Island and expect to get help the same day.

Very thankful to Nick and how nice they were to help us. I called with a dead battery in town asking if they could replace it if I brought it in that day. I wasn t able to get it there until 30 mins before they closed and I was out 30 mins later with a new one. This really helped out as I had our dog with me and my wife and baby were waiting nearby as well for me to get them.What a pleasant experience and very kind of them to help me so quickly and professionally all on short notice.Thank you.

These guys are great. I was really stuck. My hire car had an alarm light showing for a faulty tyre (can you tell from the spelling that I'm English?). These guys sent me and my wife to have a breakfast while they sorted it out. No fuss, no frills, just a great fix. If anyone has any auto problems anywhere near Bar Harbor, look no further. This is the best place to go.

The hazard lights on my Acura MDX couldn't be turned off and the turn signals stopped working. Nick spent time to research the issue and fixed the problem in a timely manner. Nick is not only an excellent technician, he is also a good man! The owner and the front desk lady are also very nice. DEFINITELY recommend this auto shop - they are there to help people.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Our brake lights stopped working while on vacation and they saw us immediately and solved the problem right away. Super-friendly, quick, responsive, and affordable. They went well out of their way to save our vacation.

We were on a family vacation to Arcadia national park when my alternator failedLeaving my car Undrivable. They looked at my car within 1 hour of opening and had me back on the road ASAP completing a major repair. Highly recommended, extremely fair prices. Thank you guys !!!
