The hotel was conveniently located and room was large and comfortable. Lobby was inviting and grab and go breakfast with freshly baked muffins and fruit throughout the day was wonderful. The staff was helpful . In particular Christopher was always cheerful and ready to share his vast knowledge of the area. Furthermore he helped adjust a reservation glitch with no issues !

Even though they were closing down for the season while we stayed, my stay couldn't have been more perfect. Very quaint, small town feel with all the amenities of a chain hotel. Cookies (always my favorite touch) at check-in and a small continental breakfast. Penny at the front desk was such a lovely, kind, and helpful host.Rooms: The bed was very comfortable. And I'm picky. The extra blanket in the room was very appreciated.Nearby activities: In location allows you to walk just about everywhere in town. HUGE walkability points and a 16-minute drive to the summit of Cadillac Mountain.

My husband and I planned to stay here at the end of March. Upon arrival, we learned that the lobby and other amenities were closed for a portion of the off-season. We were disappointed to have not known this earlier, but they were responsive via phone and helped us find lodging elsewhere in Bar Harbor.

Stayed 3 nights at Bar Harbor Manor earlier this week. We could not have asked for a greater place to stay. Rooms were clean, quiet and comfortable. The location is close enough to downtown to walk, but far enough away for a peaceful stay. The absolute, most wonderful aspect of our stay was the service!. We were met with warm chocolate chips cookies (not to be topped by delicious, just-baked, blueberry muffins in the am). The desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They asked questions and were able to provide restaurant, hiking and other recommendations that fit us well! Highly recommend!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Bar Harbor Manor during my visit to Acadia National Park, and I must say it was an extraordinary experience that surpassed all my expectations. From the moment I stepped foot into the hotel until the day of my departure, every aspect of my stay was nothing short of perfection. Allow me to share my amazing review of this hidden gem nestled amidst the breathtaking beauty of Acadia National Park.Firstly, the hospitality. People who are managing are very nice. The Blue berry muffins are made every day morning. I haven't ate such muffins ever. They offered free complimentary coffee and cookies. I should say that this place is very close to downtown. Amazing room. Very cleanly rest rooms. Everything about this is amazing. I would like to thank owners for making this trip special and also I don't feel they are running this business for money. They are so friendly, nice and they think twice and thrice about customersFood & drinks: Try the blueberry muffins

It should be obvious from the jump that Bar Harbor Manor is not a Ritz-Carlton or a Four Seasons. But if you're a traveler who wants to spend an awful lot of time out and about in Bar Harbor or deep in Acadia, this is the perfect hotel - it's easy to walk right into downtown Bar Harbor, easy to drive out from there to the Park, and has just about every amenity you would want, including a very basic grab'n'go breakfast (muffins, yogurt, fruit, coffee, grain bars) that will tide you over until you can make it to the front of the line at Choco-latte.All of that is great, but Bar Harbor Manor gets five stars from us for three very specific reasons: Christopher, Penny, and Constance. The desk staff are an invaluable resource - they are friendly, hilarious, and exceptionally knowledgeable about all the best restaurants, hikes, and scenic viewpoints around the area. We traveled here with our toddler for vacation; not only were they quick to come up with hiking recommendations that were specifically tailored to our daughter's skill set, off the beaten path and *also* had beautiful lookouts (they drew up new maps for us literally every day and personally got us park registration!) they specially baked and set aside cookies for her, separate from the rest of the batch. It was absolutely, unnecessarily heartwarming. She grew to love seeing them and still talks about how much she misses them almost a month later. They were accommodating and would bend over backwards to figure out how to make our stay more comfortable - they didn't need to, but they did, and we are incredibly grateful. I would recommend this place a hundred times over, and as long as they're there we will definitely stay here again the next time we visit Acadia.

Stayed there in June, booked so called "King Suite". The accommodation was horrible. These "suites" are actually located not in the main buildings, but across the street, at 48 Holland Ave. This is just a common low-end house with premises somehow divided into few "suites". Our was room 38, our friends stayed in room 48. Both were barely livable. Apparently former apartments (or parts of the apartments) redone into hotel rooms with minimal upgrades. Everything was at the level of one star roadside motel - very low quality, old and dilapidated. And it also smelled. There was absolutely no soundproofing, everything happening in the room above, on the sides, and on the streets, was heard as clearly as if i was staying right next to it. Thus, i also heard that many other guests in the other suites were also quite unhappy about their quality.Windows were bad, and had only one glass sheet in them. A/C was bad, noisy, and uneven. Holland Ave has some noticeable traffic even during late/early hours, and the cars were driving, noise uninhibited, just 6 feet or so from our front windows.I cannot say anything about the room quality in the main buildings, maybe they are better. The "manor" does not have any basic service like bar/breakfast etc., not like some other real manors in the town. The bearded gentleman at the service deck promised to refund our last night when we left one day earlier. He then refused the refund citing "booking through the third party", and only conceded after i proved (via e-mails) that i have his written promise to refund, and that i booked it through their website. Afterwards, i found out they refunded the cheapest night, not the one we missed, and denied my request to correct it. My friends have not got the refund for their night. Also, be careful about this gentleman's restaurant recommendations, he gave us a rather sketchy one.The location is ok, if your windows are not facing the road. It by no means prime though. My advise - if you decide to stay at this place, check twice which room are you booked to, never book the "suites"; see the actual room upon checking in before paying the balance, and confirm any changes/cancellations/refunds requests by e-mail. But really - choose something else, closer to water front. There are quite a few much better places there.Rooms: The "suits" are horrible.Noteworthy details: Inspect the room upon checking in. Do not pay the balance before seeing the room. Never book "suites". If need changes/refunds - make sure you have promise to do so in writing.

This room is not as described! It is a regular motel room, absolutely nothing special. It is VERY overpriced! Same low standard tissue paper and coffee maker (and coffee) as a bargin motel. We stayed on the first floor. A couple stayed in the room above us, and we could hear every move they made. The "large flat screen tv" is an old 30" screen that displays less than that. It is convenient for walking downtown several blocks away. The downtown area does a great job of providing plenty of parking, though. We stayed 3 nights 9/15-9/17 $1,240. I don't usually post negative reviews, but I felt this was necessary. We loved Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park!

Such a beautiful place to stay and so conveniently located! The staff make you feel welcomed and are very helpful! The smell of fresh baked cookies as we checked in was so nice! The fresh smell of lavender as we entered our room was so uplifting! The beds were comfortable and the linens were soft and inviting for a good nights rest after hiking Acadia! It was such a nice surprise to have fresh coffee, orange juice, a variety of oatmeal, breakfast bars, fruit and the blueberry muffins were AMAZING! Highly recommend if your staying in Bar Harbor!Rooms: SO CLEAN!Nearby activities: Acadia is so close that you can hike during the day and get a goods night rest before heading out for another day of hiking.Safety: The grounds were well lighted at night and in a quiet part of town.Walkability: We walked everywhere during our stay. From having dinner to shopping and even the grocery store was all close by.Food & drinks: Coffee was so good with the blueberry muffin in the morning!Noteworthy details: The lady at the front desk not only had a recommendation to get lobster to take home but called to make sure they were open.

Like all of the Westgate and associated facilities, this is just a cheap, poorly constructed place, that s thriving on the fact that people have points to use and will put up with lousy accommodations when they re free. Doors slam and shake the walls. Ac/heat units have no temperature control so it s either too hot or too cold. Outside lighting stays on all night and the curtains don t close enough to block the light. Our room had an extra special feature, whenever someone upstairs used hot water the pipe in the wall creaked so loudly that we thought someone was knocking at the door. Super at 5:30 in the morning! Pretty sure I ll never stay here again!!!Walkability: Far enough that we drove the few blocks and payed to park rather than walk in the pouring rain!

The rooms were nice and clean! The staff was very friendly, helpful, and kind in providing anything we needed and recommendations for food and activities. The breakfast food provided was a nice way to start our day. The location is close to Acadia National Park and is a location in relation to Bar Harbor as well. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone staying in Bar Harbor!

Bar Harbor Manor exceeded our expectations. The room was absolutely perfect. Great location with an easy walk to many restaurants and shops. The concierge, Christopher, had great spot on dining and hiking recommendations. He was so helpful with all of our needs. I highly recommend staying here!Rooms: The rooms were very clean and the bed was really comfortable.

My cousin and I stayed here for the weekend. It was absolutely lovely. The 24 hour tea and coffee was amazing. Especially when we got up to watch the sunrise. Everything is so close really just a 5 min walk. Our hotel was very nice and clean too and I liked how big the bathrooms were.Alexis who worked at the front desk was very welcoming and kind. We had some great conversations with her and she was always offering us snacks and making sure we knew whenever there would be breakfast the next morningWould definitely visit here again!

I would give this place 5 stars just based on the service alone. Fortunately the rest of our stay was wonderful as well. Chris was great in helping me fix my reservation when I mixed up the dates. He also greeted us when we checked in and answered every question we had and gave lots of good recommendations for things to. The room we stayed in was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The small grab and go breakfast items were nice for getting out early to hike. The price was the best we saw in the area, even for being right in Bar Harbor. Will definitely be the place we will come back to on any future trips out here.

This was a well situated nice property within walking distance of the main drag in Bar Harbor, including our favorite place for dining the Thirsty Whale.Christopher greeted us at the front desk and was extremely friendly and helpful throughout our trip. Bonus there s a hydration station in the lobby so you can fill up your water bottles for daily adventures in the park! The room itself was nice, although you can tell it was an older property. Comfortably laid out with a nice size mini refrigerator and microwave. Our biggest complaint was that the king size bed was actually two twin mattresses bundled together, so there was a ridge, running down the middle of our bed, which made it difficult to cuddle.

Stayed on a Tuesday night in mid-May in a classic queen hotel room. The room looked new and was spotless, and the (medium) mattress was the only one on my trip that didn't cause pain. Desk staff was very friendly and helpful. I stopped by the grab-and-go breakfast with little optimism for finding something gluten-free, but they had wrapped GF muffins and oatmeal cups! I had a little first floor balcony but it was facing the parking lot so I didn't use it. If you don't want to hear people above you, get a room on the top floor.

Clean, affordable and good beds. Their staff was helpful when we checked in late at night. The room included a microwave and mini fridge. Mornings at the hotel started with homemade blueberry muffins and nice coffee. Very close to restaurants. I definitely would come back.Walkability: 10 minutes away from main street.

If you're going to visit the wonderful town of Bar Harbor, you should stay at the Bar Harbor Manor. Accommodations were perfect, clean, and it felt like home. Our room had everything we needed and then some. It is located within a 10 minute walk of all the restaurants and happenings, and is also a short drive from Acadia.Constance, Christopher, and Alexis were absolutely incredible. The nicest, most helpful people. We needed a screw driver to fix a bike seat, they had it...we needed recommendations on where to hike and what was open in Acadia, Constance had her Acadia book ready and waiting for me - she made copies of some pages and gave us just the best itinerary for our quick day in Acadia. We were/are so thankful for all the help and hospitality. And we loved it so much we are already planning our next stay in Bar Harbor, and it's no secret we will be staying at the Bar Harbor Manor again. I can't recommend this place enough.

Honestly amazing for the price. The room was big and had a really cute kind of coquette/grandma aesthetic. Location is amazing (5 minutes from downtown) the bed was comfortable, water pressure was fine, breakfast was nothing super fancy but totally what I needed before leaving for a hike (oatmeal, coffee, juice, tons of fruit)

I rate very few places with 5 stars but this place was perfect. We stayed there over a month ago but I m coming back to write this place a review because we didn t have a single problem. Here is why:- this location is amazing, it s within a 5-10 minute walk of anywhere you want to go in town and a 5-10 minutes drive to just about any hiking location- the staff there was amazing! They chat with you like you are family catching up at a bbq, they give you tips of places to hike and are happy to make suggestions of where to eat and will make reservations for you- Every morning the lobby had delicious muffins (among plenty of other grab-and-go foods) and in the afternoon they had cookies- in the lobby there was a water bottle refill station which is perfect for someone like me who wanted to make sure we had plenty of water before every hike- the rooms were perfectly clean and maintained (I recommend putting your door sign on your door to let them know you want to clean or they respect your privacy and do not come in to clean)- plenty of off-street parkingNow for the thing that completely sold me on this place:I (32 y/o) was there with my sister (34 y/o) and my dad (70 y/o) to celebrate my dads 70th birthday. My sister had booked one room where we had two beds. She and I would sleep in one and our dad would sleep in the other. The second day when I woke up she was SUPER GRUMPY, when I asked her why she said she didn t sleep all night because of dads snoring. She was mad at herself for not booking 2 rooms. I went to the front desk of the lobby and explained the situation. We were supposed to be there for 5 more nights and I asked them if there was any way they had an extra room, I didn t care how much it cost, for those 5 nights, that my dad could have to himself. Without missing a beat the staff members worked together to not only find me a room, but do it with a smile. They totally understood my situation, matched my energy with how I felt about the situation, and worked with me to solve the problem. They explained that there was ONE room left but it was a bit more expensive. I explained I didn t care (I needed my sister to be happy during this crazy trip) and asked them how much. They must have noticed my wince when I heard the price because immediately Christopher, the gentlemen who was helping me at that point, said, let me see if there are any discounts we can apply for you and asked me some questions to see which ones I could qualify for. We found one that saved what I considered to be a significant amount of money and I happily handed over my card. The rest of our trip was absolutely flawless and it was because we had that second room. And then to top it all off, on my dads actual birthday he came over to our room with a cupcake and a card and I asked him where he got it from and he said the lady at the front desk had it ready for me this morning! He (and my sister and I) were so impressed with this beautiful little touch that made this place feel like home.Note: there were 2 other women that worked at the front desks whose names I cannot currently remember BUT I will do my best to update this review with their names because they were lovely too! The one gave us a wonderful hiking suggestion of the carriage trails (it was my families favorite place we walked) since she runs there often. And the other lady was the one that gave my dad the birthday card and cupcake.Such amazing service!Update: I believe the other two women were Penny (she was the one who gave us the suggestions of where to hike I believe) and Constance (I believe she was the one who gave my dad the bday cupcake and card).Rooms: Perfectly clean, great AC, and they have all even have a little outdoor patio spot for the summer months Nearby activities: Within a 5-10 minute drive of SO MANY different hike/walking locations! Absolutely perfect.Walkability: so great! We were able to walk to every single meal we had for a whole week and we only ate at the same place twice!Food & drinks: They always had something in the lobby plenty of great breakfast grab-and-go options too!Noteworthy details: The service was above and beyond. All the rooms were pristinely clean. Tons of parking.

We really had a great stay here. Very clean and very quiet hotel that seems to be well maintained. Located just far enough away from the bustle of town but everything is in walking distance including the park (~15 mins I was at the gate). Staff is extremely helpful and courteous. Even for a holiday weekend I feel like this place was a great value.Rooms: Clean, well maintained.Safety: Felt safe here the entire time.Walkability: Just offset from the town center but everything is extremely close.

The hotel is absolutely beautiful!! We stayed here for one night on our way to Acadia and when we checked in, Christopher upgraded our rooms to balcony rooms and gave us recommendations for places to eat in the area (which were amazing). He was so sweet and fun to talk with and was a great way to introduce us to the area. Shout out to Christopher for being the best, 10/10, he s invited to all of the family BBQs for sure

Beautiful stay! My girlfriends and I have found our new hotel for our annual Bar Harbor trip. It s the perfect walking distance to downtown but keeps you just out of the chaos for a sound sleep. The woman at the front desk was so friendly. They had complimentary coffee and water stations, as well as freshly baked cookies every day we were there. I love a personal touch like that! My favorite part was the little balcony attached to our room. It was a nice place to read!
