We stayed at this hotel while passing through on our way to see the eclipse. This hotel was more than I could have asked for. The front desk was very nice, pleasant and made you feel at home. We were able to snag a room at a discounted price due to it being the off season but I would be happy to come back and stay and pay full price. Our room (single king) was decent size the bathroom was huge enough room to spread out. The room was very clean and nice. The free breakfast they provided was way better than the standard continental breakfast. They had fresh pastries and fruit. The eggs and omelets were really good. They even had a gluten free area for bread and pastries, I don t have a gluten issue but I thought that was nice. I am so sad I wasn t able to stay longer. I will definitely be coming back to stay during their open season.Rooms: Rooms were spacious and very clean, bed was big and comfyFood & drinks: The continental breakfast was very good with a lot of different options, way better then other average continental breakfastNoteworthy details: Pleasant front desk staff, elegant style

Whether you prefer a hearty meal or something lighter, there was something to satisfy every palate.Overall, my experience at the Bar Harbor Grand Hotel left a lasting impression, and I have no doubt that I will return in the future. Had our 2nd stay at the Grand Hotel over the Labor Day holiday. The staff and guests were fantastic for the most part. The only issue was the reservation.Apparently I made the reservation before our fight schedule was finalized. So when I called the hotel to confirm a week in advance, we didn't have a room after all. But the good news is they had an even bigger room for the same price. The room was huge with a sleep sofa and could sleep 6 if necessary. The included breakfast was great with different options every day. My family enjoyed the hot tub and the front porch rocking chairs very much. The people at the front desk couldn't be any nicer as well. The location is not on the water but very convenient to walk, shuttle or bike just about anywhere. Parking is free and can be tight but we were always able to find a spot. Bar Harbor has become very crowded but we still enjoyed our visit and the definitely the park.

Exceptional service, Neil was particularly wonderful. Room was spotless, right on Main Street within walking distance from everything. Wonderful breakfast each morning. Every staff member was helpful and welcoming. They even had a list printed out of places to see on rainy days. Wonderful little details of service throughout the hotel that made my stay exceptional!

Beautiful hotel. Multistory with elevators. Recently renovated. Great staff. Breakfast included. Rooms are very clean and quiet. The rooms are beautifully organized and decorated. The bed was very comfortable. Walking distance from many shops and restaurants in downtown Bar Harbor. This hotel is only a few miles driving distance from Acadia National Park. You can actually hike to several Acadia trails directly from your hotel room. Would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend Bar Harbor Grand Motel.

Very beautiful motel, which is located in the downtown area in easy walking distance to everything. Rooms were large, well equipped, and immaculately clean. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. Just the available parking to be within walking distance of downtown is a great added convenience.Rooms: The rooms are large and well equipped with very comfortable beds. The only entrance without a key is the front door entrance, where there is an employee at all times. The breakfast is both hot and vegan choices. Hot coffee, tea, and apple cider are available all day long. Cookies at night in the lobby. The motel is right downtown and all the hot spots are within walking distance.Nearby activities: All off downtown and the harbour

Beautiful. Classy. Charming. Located right in the heart of downtown Bar Harbor. It is low key one of the finest hotel experiences one could possible enjoy while looking to book an adventure for themselves, their loved one(s)! Footsteps to many of the finest restaurants the island and Maine have to offer, Acadia National Park, and a welcoming staff! My partner and I have stayed many times now and the Grand Hotel is our home away from home now when we wish to enjoy all Bar Harbor has to offer and check into a cute cozy king suite!

The Bar Harbor Grand Hotel was the perfect stay for our family of 5 as we vacationed in Bar Harbor this past week. We had a spacious 2-bedroom suite that was perfect for us, and we loved all of the special touches that the hotel provided. There was coffee, tea, hot chocolate & water available throughout the day, fresh flowers all throughout the lobby and dining area, and the grounds including the rocking chair front porch all added to the most delightful stay. The hotel staff was so kind and helpful, and everyone was friendly and seemed genuinely happy to be working there. The location was perfect for walking around to shops, dining and the shore, and an easy drive to Acadia for hiking and biking. Truly one of our most favorite vacations to date & this hotel played an important part in the whole package!Rooms: Spacious, clean, great viewsNearby activities: Plenty of great dining and shopping right outside the door and of course Acadia just down the road!Safety: The hotel and town felt safe at all times. Bar Harbor Grand has an old-school traditional hotel feel that is missing in most modern hotels these days.Walkability: Perfect location for walking around downtown Bar HarborFood & drinks: Breakfast is available each morning and provided a quick and easy start to our days in Bar Harbor & AcadiaNoteworthy details: Coffee all day, fresh flowers throughout

This hotel is a "you get what you pay for" - completely walkable to everything in Bar Harbor - all of the shops, the restaurants, and the bus stop to grab buses into Acadia so you don't have to fight for parking in the park. Kids' activities planned each day, and touches like fresh coffee/tea/hot chocolate available 24/7 in the lobby.Very comfortable room, large vanity in the bathroom, and quiet. Comfortable beds, plenty of blankets. Spent a lovely afternoon one day reading in one of the rockers on the front porch.

My boyfriend and I had a lovely stay here during our 2 days in Bar Harbor when we came here to visit Acadia NP! The staff were incredibly friendly and the hotel is very clean and a fantastic location. It s on the outside edge of the main strip of restaurants and bars, so the hotel is quiet, but it s an incredibly easy walk to everything! The complimentary breakfast is great- with gluten and dairy-free options! We would definitely recommend to friends and family and would stay here again!Walkability: Very short walk to all the restaurants and shops in Bar Harbor

I would definitely stay here again. The rooms are large and clean. Staff are friendly. The location is perfect, just a short walk to food and shopping, across the street from the shore path, and Acadia is just a 10 minute drive. Oh and the breakfast! It s the best hotel breakfast I ve had in a long time, so many food and beverage options with a large dinning room.

This hotel was everything we could of asked for. We went for a our anniversary and it was perfect. We went in what is I guess off season so a lot of places were closed but we were thankful because it led us to the Bar Harbor Grand Hotel. The staff go above and beyond. They are so kind, helpful, will answer any question you may have and just hold a conversation with you. You don t have that now a days. The room was clean and spacious. Perfect for my wife and I. The hotel is located on the main street and you can literally walk everywhere. Thanks again for the amazing stay!

I don't normally write reviews, but I had to write this one. Oh my gosh. We had such a great time at the Bar Harbor Grand. Our fam of 4 stayed for 5 nights. The hotel was great. The breakfasts were great. The front porch was great. The location was great. The ice cream socials in the afternoon and the 'smores in the evening were so fun and yummy. The town was great. But best of all were the people at the hotel; they all really made us feel like family. Rosemarie & Kanique were wonderful housekeepers. Made the room feel like new every day. And Lori & Keanna were awesome at breakfast. It felt like a B&B!! And different food every day! So great. And I cant believe I forgot the name of the guy working at breakfast! He was awesome. Employee of the Month! And the front desk folks were always so nice and helpful (Alecia, Yaicha, J'aime and Kara). But a special shout out to Neil and Dorene at the front desk. Oh my gosh. They felt like old friends that were vacationing with us. Gave us so many great tips and hints on what to do and see in the area. And Dorene, we love you. Dorene overheard me mention that I was trying to find a nice place for dinner for my wife's birthday. And the next day, she had a beautiful birthday gift waiting for her in our room. Talk about going above and beyond.Such a warm atmosphere here. We will definitely be coming back. Love the town of Bar Harbor as well, and Acadia. Just a perfect trip :)

My boyfriend and I stayed here last weekend and we are so glad we did! J aime at the front desk was absolutely wonderful, she helped us get a park pass and offered us suggestions of things to do at the park. Hotel is centrally located and room itself was so clean upon arrival! Continental breakfast was a nice tough. Only negative I have is regarding the pillows which weren t great but everything else was very nice. We would definitely return.

Awesome, affordable, and friendly hotel. Front desk was very accommodating to our questions about Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park in general. They also provided us with the best times to go visit bar Island, the tide charts, and Cadillac Mountain timings. The rooms were very clean, the continental breakfast was decent, and there was 24-hour hot chocolate and coffee available for those long cold nights. The water in the bathroom gets hot and they come with a dedicated bathroom heater which is awesome when you wake up and don't want to put your feet on the cold stone floor.

Hotel is really lovely, and the staff is amazing. I asked a woman at the front desk if they might have a reading lamp I could use, and they didn't but she offered to bring one from home for me the next day. I mean, who does that???? Continental breakfast is good with a great variety of options, including make-your-own waffles. Hotel is right in Bar Harbor, so easy walk to all the stores, restaurants, bars. Totally planning to stay there again!

Love this hotel. Staff is very friendly and helpful. They gave us list of their restaurant recommendations. Pool and hot tub feel great (both open only Memorial Day thru Columbus Day). Breakfast is amazing - hot, fresh, well-stocked, great service. Comfortable beds. Showers have great water pressure. Walk anywhere downtown within 10 minutes.
