My friend and I had so much fun in a Gem driving the park loop road and exploring town! It was so fun to drive and easy to maneuver and we loved the quietness and open air. It was incredible to feel so connected to the wildness of Acadia along the road - a road which I drive frequently but in the gem I noticed things I have never noticed before and loved the perspective it offered. I also loved the ability explore this place I love without the negative effects of burning fossil fuels. We will absolutely rent again and highly recommend to friends and family and anyone coming to the area!

Best way to tour the Acadia loop road. These gem rentals make it easy to park, get in and get out of. Driving loop road in a normal vehicle does not offer the same experience as one of these rentals, and vising Cadillac mountain in one is a blast. My wife and I rented a 2 seater with the doors removed and had the best time. The vehicle is set to drive about 22-25mph so expect some traffic to build up behind you at times, but no worries as you laugh at the mere peasants behind you with their 4000+ lbs of enclosed metal cage that can do nothing but listen to the cries of their restless children arguing in the back seat. You are in the open air, the ocean breeze, smelling the scenery and are at one with nature and not a single F to give. Enjoy the ride.

This was so fun and easy to do!! We had someone in our party with mobility challenges and this was a great way to explore this beautiful community together. The car was easy to drive and customer service was excellent!!

THE BEST WAY TO SEE ACADIA and BRA HARBOR!! We have a dually truck that we haul our RV with and finding parking is a big challenge here. This made it so easy and fun!!!

What an ideal way to see Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. The online reservation process was quick and simple. We were met at the tender dock and shuttled the few blocks to our GEM. We made reservations in advance for Cadillac Mountain and we have an America the Beautiful pass. We were given a map and instructions on how best to enjoy the day. The best part - you're on your own time and can explore the park and the city so easily. Highly recommend for cruisers. Much more fun than renting a car!

This was a great way for 6 adults to enjoy Acadia park together. Instead of everyone packed into our vehicle and not having windows, everyone had plenty of space and could see everything and take in the sights. Plenty of space for snacks, drinks and extras. Highly recommend!

Rented a four seater for two days. We had a blast and would definitely recommend. The first day was warm and sunny so we had the doors off. The second day was rainy and cooler so we put the doors back on. Another perk is that we parked back at the rental place when heading into town for meals. Saved us (1) time looking for parking, and (ii) the $4.00/hour fee at the parking meters.

This vehicle made for an amazing personal tour on our recent visit to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. Having struck out with two excursions canceled on our Bar Harbor visit, Acadia Gem Cars were a hit with our group! We had a glass roof which made the experience even better. Friendly, fast, efficient, and accommodating. Highly recommend you stop in- whether you need room for 2, 4, or 6 people, they can take your visit to the next level and you won t be stuck on a tour guides schedule. Don t want doors, they will take them off. Cannot say enough about the service!

Amazing time! My father & I took a Norwegian cruise to RI, ME & Canada and decided to take the 2 seater GEM & tour Acadia for 4 hours. I absolutely love Bar Harbor! Spent a week there with my husband about 8 years ago; however, an issue with the area is dense fog. I don t know if this is seasonal or if it happens year round. Unbeknownst to me, to get to Bar Harbor via cruise ship, passengers are tendered in, but if the fog is too dense, the cruise line will wait until the fog lifts to make the passage safe. Not realizing Norwegian did not have a contingency plan in place since Bar Harbor is frequently foggy, I had reserved the GEM from 10am-2pm as we were supposed to arrive to port at 8am. We did not get off of the ship until 1pm & did not arrive at the GEM place until 2pm. They saved our GEM for us!!!! I was amazed they were able to do so & hope they keep this is mind for future travelers. We were able to enjoy Acadia & Bar Harbor as planned even though we arrived 4 hours late. Acadia GEM Thank you so much for allowing us to enjoy Acadia & Bar Harbor as we had planned!!! Would do the 100 times over!**only suggestion I have is to have more detailed directions to and from Acadia. We had to turn around a couple of times as the direction are decent but could be much more detailed. Some of the roads in ME don t even have signs up so it is confusing for us tourists.

These things are a bit expensive but we had a blast buzzing around Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. We did the park loop and went to the top of Cadillac Mountain. For me, since I normally drive, it was awesome because the view from these little GEM's is fantastic compared to a car. Also, the staff is super friendly and were very accommodating.

This was the perfect way to explore Bar Harbor & Acadia! The reservation process was so easy. Someone met us at the dock & shuttled us to the lot. They gave us simple directions & a map for getting around & we were off! We were able to explore on our own time, stop & explore where we wanted to. It was a little drizzly that day, but we still chose no doors and we re happy we did! Our kids loved it! We would definitely do it again!!

The GEM was a blast! Beautiful day when we were there, so great to ride around Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor with the doors off. The smaller vehicle was great to easily pull off where regular cars would be too big. Check in and out was super fast and easy, especially since I had pre-filled all their forms online. Would 100% do it again, and highly recommend renting a GEM from Acadia GEM!

An AWESOME experience. Coming off the cruise ship with no planned excursion, this was hands down the best way to see Acadia national park and Bar harbor. The process was super fast, smooth and easy. The vehicles were high end and super easy to use. 10/10 would recommend to anyone visiting Acadia / Bar Harbor who wants to be independent of the bus tours offered by the cruise excursions. Only recommendation would be a slightly better map, but did not take away at all from the experience. Bonus points for awesome shop dog.

A GEM car was perfect for us to tour Acadia National Park in an afternoon. Everything worked as expected & and the staff was very helpful & friendly.

The best way to see Acadia and Bar Harbor! The only reason I am giving 4 stars is when I picked the Gem up, I received very little information on where to go. It was our first time visiting and when you have to stay on 35 mph roads, you need more information. But, I would highly recommend using the Gem for exploring the area! Best day ever once we figured it out!

What a great experience! We were in Bar Harbor on a cruise ship for the day and didn't really have any plans except to walk around the downtown. Then we saw the Acadia GEM vehicle by the harbor. We inquired about the cost etc and the rep explained everything and we got a lift just down the road to their office. We rented a 4 seater and headed out to Acadia National Park. The GEM is perfect for the loop road and made it easy to stop along the way and see everything. If you're in Bar Harbor I would highly recommend Acadia GEM rentals.

Best way to see Acadia!I had been reading about GEMS online after somone told me about them! I took a chance and didn't book in advance as i was waiting to see what the weather was going do. Upon arriving in town on Monday, i stopped at their booth by the harbor and decided to make a reservation for the next day. Opted for a full day since I knew that I wanted to do some hiking along the way.The rental process was seamless and pick up was even easier! I arrived at 9am and their garage downtown, got a quick tutorial on operating the vehicle and i was on my way. The biggest question of the morning... doors or no doors. No doors please!! Time to enjoy the fresh air!As a solo traveler, the 2 person option was perfect for me! Easy to drive, storage in the back, handled like a dream and the fact that the max speed is 25mph, it forced me to slow down and really take in everything around me!Staff was top notch and totally made my birthday even better!Thank you Acadia GEMS for making my limited time in Bar Harbor amazing!

Great option for touring the park and getting around Bar Harbor. Overnight special was a good deal. Park was quieter and was able to see an amazing sunset. Returned in the morning to circle the park again. Better visibility than a standard vehicle and nimble enough to park anywhere in Bar Harbor, where parking can be challenging.

Rented a two seater last week while on a cruise. Everyone was great from the shuttle drivers who met us and returned us to the pier, to the vehicle instruction before heading out. A great way to see Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.

Awesome way to get around acadia. Our 5 year old loved it and the huge windows plus glass roof make for great views. It's also a big help in navigating the crowded streets of Bar harbor and the small size makes parking a breeze.

We would give more stars if we could. Long story short, my fianc�e and I have been planning a RV trip from Baltimore to Acaidia National Park for over a year. We had rented a RV from a local place here in MD, but with less than a week until the trip, we learned RV's weren't allowed on the scenic loops of Acaidia National Park which was a blow to us as we were excited to see everything.We did a quick Google search and found Acaidia Gem and luckily when we called, we were able to speak with the owner. We explained our situation and that we were camping almost a hour away from Acaidia Gems store in Schoodic Woods and the Owner not only was able to rent us a car in such short notice, but he was also willing to deliver and pick up the vehicle from our camp site.Acaidia Gem went above and beyond for us and we were extremely grateful for it and when we return to Maine, they will most certainly get our business again.To add to things, the car was very nice and clean. It was a electric car as well so we didn't have to worry about paying for gas which was another relief. I've never driven electric cars before but it had power and drove awesome.Thank you again Acaidia Gem, awesome work!

If you are looking for a neat way to adventure around Acadia and Bar Harbor, the GEMs are a great choice! We had it on a rainy day and still enjoyed having it to look at even more of our surroundings!

Took a Gem out for the day when on a cruise.Highly recommend!!!It was a great way to see the national park.Came with USB charging ports as well as Bluetooth.We were able to listen to the GuideAlong app which gave us a tour of the national park. I highly recommend this paid app. We have used it for other tours.The staff was so very friendly and helpful!It's a great way to see the park!!!

We rented a 6 seat GEM and drove it from town all through Acadia including the Cadillac Mountain summit with no problems. Easy to drive (similar to a golf cart). Speed limited to 25mph but no problem for Acadia since the park roads were all max 35mph. We met the owner Jeff and he was very nice.

Staff was amazing! We had a four person car and we got stranded in Acadia National Park, They came to pick us up and suggested to give us a six person car which is more powerful, this might have been because my friend and I are not little men by any means , Jordan pond was closing so we couldn t go back so they reimbursed us for our troubles. Two cars are fine but if you are in a group with big men get the six person car and you ll be fine

We had a great time. We didn t know how we were going to see Acadia, then we found Acadia GEM. They were wonderful and made sure we knew everything we need know. I would recommend making a reservation. We did and it was quick to pick up. Others had to complete all the paperwork and it takes time. Would definitely recommend Acadia GEM!!

Great experience! Service was very accommodating. They picked us up at the dock, took us to their facility and explained to us everything we needed to know about the vehicle and how to get around the park. We were able to stop and linger at the places we wanted. Everyone could see the scenery well because of the wide, tall windows and ceiling.

Fantastic experience. We used the Gem to get around Bar Harbor and Acadia. The Gem last for an entire loop around Park Loop Road and then some. It was a great vehicle to use to get to the trails not by our campsite and enjoy the park since you have a near 360 view. The service for Gem was phenomenal and we could not have asked for a better experience during our stay in Bar Harbor.

We rented a 4-seater GEM for me, my husband, and our adult daughter. The staff gave us a very good orientation on how to drive the vehicle and where we could go. We drove to the Acadia NP Visitor Center and then around the Loop Road. The vehicle was ok to drive, but limited to 25mph. It was a very busy day in the park, and we had a reservation to drive to the top of Cadillac Mountain. Unfortunately, our GEM would not make it to the top. As we got close the speed kept dropping until we were under 10mph. We had to turn around. When we got back to the shop we spoke to the owner, and he noted that since the vehicles are new they had not had the batteries cycle for maximum charge yet (?). He offered to give us an hour off our 4-hour rental since we'd only driven it for 3 hours. That was a fair solution. We respect honest business people who are responsive to customer's comments, and so I am happy to give the business five stars. Thank you for excellent customer service and a unique experience!
