I went to the Bangor location for a recall appointment. I asked them to inspect my car while I was there. The service person came back and told me that my car hadn t passed inspection because my rear passenger tire was bald and because my front and back breaks needed to be replaced as well as new rotors. The tab - $1300. I told them I was going to get an estimate from another shop. I went to VIP in Ellsworth. I had a tire so I brought it with me. The technician came back and said - the breaks were fine. No need to fix them. The car passed inspection and I was on my way. I called the Darling dealership and spoke to someone who said - passing inspection was at the technician s ldiscretion. I only needed a new tire to pass inspection. But they decided to tack on a $1300 fee for a break job that I didn t need. Beware I too wouldn t give this company a single star.

*Update below*Had my truck with clear instruction for almost 2 months for work that shouldn't take 2 weeks. Trying to charge me for diagnostic work in the form of a vehicle inspection and test drive that found no issues though there are plenty I'm aware of. On hold for 15 minutes at a time and no call backs when requested. If this ridiculous situation is fixed I'll update the review. But until then stay far away, even if it's warrantied, take it somewhere else.Update:Picked up my truck and there is a new exhaust leak, I'll fix it myself.. After the Google review reply, sent an email to the address, got a reply from probably the same person. 2 weeks later and nothing has happened except for trying to save face with a boiler plate reply on Google reviews.

Darlings agreed to take on a vehicle repair with an Allstate Warranty. The vehicle has been there for a month. I ve had to call regularly and check in to see where the repair process is.Turns out, the work hasn t even begun. They re suggesting they may get it in on the first week of March. After 2 months at the dealership. All the bills go to the warranty. But because they ve made ZERO repairs to the vehicle, there s nothing to bill. Now they re trying to bill me for the Diagnostics. The vehicle is getting towed to another Ford Dealership that actually services the vehicles they take in at appointment, and they re still trying to get money when they re failed their customers. A very professional staff and wonderful atmosphere in the lounge. All safety precautions appear to be followed as well. I understand the nature of hustle and bustle and how sometimes, information can get lost in transit.... no big deal. The purpose of my review is to inform that, when I called to schedule, I left fairly descriptive information that seems to have not made it to the technician or, rather the technician did not review said information and this may have saved everyone a little bit of time. Again, I appreciate fully Darling's attention to my vehicular issues and that my car is in great shape and most of all safe for my family and myself. Watching Jeff and the other staff, busy as bees, was good entertainment while I patiently waited. Just a side note, the devil is in the details, 1: wind screen mirror not in original position2: driver seat head rest not in original position. All else, A OK!Service: Electrical

I had a maintenance light come on after a few weeks on my new SQ5. I called Darlings to get it checked out and they got me in and took care of a minor issue the same day. Great service. And very COVID safe. Jacky in the service department was a fantastic help. Highly recommend them. Darlings continues to excel in customer service and always does a excellent job with repairs to industry standard or above. The customer service is not just thorough but it is exemplary. The standards of how an auto repair experience should be have been set by Darlings and the talent the have procured. We will not go anywhere else for personal and our business related service needs. Went in for a recall, oil and filter change and tire rotation. Everyone from the appointment center to the service writer were professional and polite. My vehicle was done on time and correctly.
