I have had so many bad experiences at other mechanics, being screwed over, people taking advantage of me not knowing much about vehicle repairs to drive up the bill, being spoken to in a condescending manner for the same reason. I am happy to say none of that has ever happened with me or my family members at Bennett!Everyone who works there is so nice and patient and really takes the time to explain what's actually going on with my vehicle, without being rude or condescending about it! The lobby is comfortable, the bathrooms are immaculate, and the work is done well and quickly! Special shout out to Dan who is always saddled with my family's Shenanigans and is always so great!I recommend going to Bennett to everyone I know! If you are looking for a fair, reputable and honest mechanic, go to Bennett!!

Great staff, very friendly. They were able to move my scheduled appointment out an hour to accommodate me when I showed up for a state inspection with an expired registration. This is where I ll be going next time I need work done.

Do Not Go Anywhere Else! An oil change may cost a little bit more but you will always get what you pay for. They do amazing work and, more importantly, they are trustworthy.

I went here for my yearly car repairs and inspection. This place is amazing!!! They get you in quickly, get the work done quickly, and give you an estimate that is exact. This is definitely my new place to take my vehicles. I was using the dealership and every time I told them to fix anything and everything that needs to be fixed or will most likely need to be fixed in the next 3 months or so I would end up back at the dealership in a week. The last time I ended up back at the dealership within a day because something broke by the time I pulled in my driveway after telling them to fix everything. Bennets is definitely the place to go for anyone who is not looking to get screwed over. Love this place!!!

These guys are my go to shop! A little pricey but they re trustworthy and you get what you pay for, great service and good quality. I always recommend Dan when I go because it doesn t seem like he just tries to get you in and out, he actually takes the time and figures out what my car needs and is willing to work with me, explaining things, and it seems like he genuinely cares about what he does! I don t go anywhere else in town!

Bennett's has come to our rescue several times! Our car has been towed by AAA and dropped off with no appointment. Somehow Bennett's would diagnose the problem on the same day and and twice they were able to repair it in the same day! This particular issue was a a cylinder that had been replaced and was still under warranty. They replaced it and didn't charge for the parts OR labor! They are AWESOME!!! (It's also the cleanest shop and has a very inviting waiting room.) Lastly, they keep you updated with timely phone calls as to their progress.Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair

These folks got the job done. They diagnosed the problem, made an appointment to fix it once the part came in, and did the work right on time for a reasonable price. Meanwhile, I enjoyed their lovely air-conditioned waiting area on a hot July day : )

We used Bennett's Auto for the first time recently for an inspection, oil change and new tires. They did a great job, and Tom even called to see if we wanted a bad tire pressure sensor replaced. The service was great and the price was very reasonable! I would highly recommend!

Bennett Auto Center has been a fixture in Bangor for many years. One of the few independents left, Tom has hired great people who are customer-focused. They do their best to get you in on your schedule if possible.

Tom Bennett and his staff always provide excellent service at a fair price. They earned my business 15 years ago by refunding money they'd overcharged after quoting a lower estimate than the work came to. When Tom had the overage refunded to me, he earned a loyal customer, and he has treated me as graciously as that ever since.Most of my repairs these days are done at my workplace, but Bennett Auto Center is always ready to fix what can't be done there. My most recent visit was a full alignment. The work was done promptly and for reasonable cost.The waiting room is comfortable. Padded chairs line the perimeter, with two small desks available for office work by customers. Free wifi and k-cup coffee or tea are available. A flat-screen TV mounted on one wall can be used, though most patrons leave it off. There are two single-user ADA-compliant restrooms just off the waiting room.As in a medical office, Bennetts keeps an array of magazines and other reading materials. Various organizations advertise their services via business cards placed around the room.

You'll be hard-pressed to find a more honest mechanic.I recently purchased an older Jeep and dropped it off for a safety inspection. I was fully-prepared for a the typical flood of unnecessary repair suggestions, but I still wanted a second set of eyes on this jeep.An hour and a half after dropping off the Jeep, Tom called me and said that the Jeep was in good shape and didn't need anything. He even said he tested the antifreeze and the coolant flush I requested wasn't necessary. At pickup time, he didn't charge me a dime. He and the rest of the staff at Bennett Auto Center have earned my business for as long as I'm in the Bangor area!Services: Vehicle Inspection, Vehicle safety inspection

I cannot recommend Bennett s more. I ve used them for oil changes and tires in the past and they were always great. But I had an odd noise I wasn t sure of and dropped in. They wanted to look at it, unscheduled, and the owner dropped me back off at work. He called me shortly after with the issue and quote. After it was completed-same day-he came and picked me up. The customer service and dedication truly makes Bennett s stand out.Services: Tires, General repairs & maintenance, Brakes, Oil change

My husband took his truck in for an inspection and some repair work. Bennett's called him to let him know what needed to be done, but also let him know about a warranty issue on his truck that needed to be repaired by the dealership. My husband was very impressed with how thorough the information was and how honest they were about the repairs.In addition, I have taken my vehicle there a few times. Each time, I have been treated with respect. One time, I had a flat tire on a Friday afternoon. Bennett's got me right in and were able to repair the tire quickly. Another time, I needed to have my brakes checked. I took my car in with no appointment, and they were able to complete my repair in a timely manner. I really appreciate the customer service you receive at Bennett's as well as the attention to detail and the quality of repairs.

I was very happy with the service I received at Bennett's. They could have easily told me I needed a dozen things done to my car and I probably wouldn't have known the difference. They made sure during my first visit that I didn't leave driving on my threadbare tires. When I returned for the more time consuming work it was done in the timeframe promised at a very fair price.

We unfortunately experienced some serious car trouble while visiting Maine, but thankfully made it to Bennet's before the car died. I was an unplanned walk-in, and even though they were busy, he took the time to check the car out for us, let us know what was wrong, gave us the exact computer readouts, and included pricing. He let us know he wasn't able to fix the car right away, but referred us to another mechanic, who did a great job and corrected the issue. Bennet was honest and kind, something you don't always find in the mechanic world, especially in NYC. We were able to continue the rest of our visit successfully, and a month later, are still raving about how amazing our experience was here. If you want honesty and quality, this is the place! Thank you!!

My car started shaking violently for two days at any speed I went. I ended up having a bubble in my tire and ended up needing four new tires on my car because the rest were deteriorating badly too. He had me come into the shop and explained and showed me my tires so I could see for myself how bad they were. I called on July 1st, 3 days before a holiday weekend, they could hear the worry in my voice and got me in 6 hours later to change my bad tire. I came back 2 days later and got the rest of my tires taken care of. These guys fixed my car two days before a holiday weekend (I needed my car so I could drive to call 2 hours away) on a 6 hour notice and did a phenomenal job! Amazinggg customer service, very very reasonable prices, quick and great work. This is definitely going to be the place I go for any car repairs in the future! 11/10 recommend! I was talking to another customer while waiting, and they travel all the way from New Hampshire because this is the only shop they have trusted and gone to for many years!

The tech and service writer completely ignored my instructions on how to operate a vehicle with an ignition interlock device, and my vehicle went into lockout. When I tried to get someone to call the interlock company with me and explain, so I wouldn't be charged $350 or in more legal trouble for their mistake - I was met with Mr. Bennet's finger in my face. He told me "It's not my fault when your radio station presets are changed, it's not my fault if your seat is moved, and it's NOT my fault YOU went out and got an OUI in Arizona." I was without a vehicle for Christmas and charged a heavy lockout fee...but thank you for my $80 back and your ignorant judgements. I have spent the last 5 years warning people about Bennet Auto.Service: Wheel alignment

Before I brought my car to Bennett's, I kept having issues with my tires. I bought brand new tires from my old mechanic and he put them on, but within just a few days they were both continuously going flat. It got to the point where I was putting air in them every day. When it was time to get my inspection sticker I decided to bring it to Bennett's instead, and I'm so glad I did. This place was absolutely amazing. Charlie Buteau was the mechanic who worked on my car, and he was extremely phenomenal. Not only did he fix what was wrong with my car, but he actually explained it to me in a way I understood. Come to find out the previous mechanic hadn't sealed my new tires, and when he put them on the rim, they were both dented but he didn't bother to fix them. And when Charlie checked my other two tires, one had 90 psi in it, and the other had 75, which is no good. He fixed my car right up and was so kind and professional about it. He didn't try to pressure me into getting unnecessary things fixed, he politely explained some of the things that might go wrong with my car if I kept ignoring them, and that getting it fixed sooner rather than later would be beneficial. He wasn't pushy at all, he was very informative and charismatic. He didn't make me feel stupid for not knowing a lot about cars and he made sure I understood exactly what he did and how to prevent it from happening again in the future. The next time I need anything done to my car, from an oil change to an inspection sticker, I will definitely bring it back to Bennett Auto Center.

I went in for a state inspection, and there was one component that didn't pass. They told me what it was, showed it to me in the garage, and said they wouldn't charge me anything if I wanted to take it and fix it myself.I'm not great when it comes to DIY car repair, so I asked if they could fix the issue, and in a few minutes they gave me a quote for the maintenance. I agreed, they did it incredibly fast, and I was on my way with an improved car and an inspection sticker.These guys do great, honest work. They didn't try and push me to buy service or parts, just did their best to help. Highly recommended.

Great experience. Went in for an inspection and was waiting for them to tell me I needed something I knew I didn't but no. They passed it. Staff was friendly and quick. Great waiting room. I'll be bringing my cars back again.

Best of the best mechanic experiences I've had. They clearly explain and demonstrate any issues. There's no sense of any overselling or other misleading tactics. No pressure to do anything, just the facts with perfectly reasonable pricing to make your own decisions.

Today I brought my car into Bennett to do a State Inspection and the experience that I had there was definitely a fantastic experience! All the staff were friendly and professional and completed the work in a very timely fashion.The WOW factor was Charlie Buteau. In the past I've taken my vehicle to other places in the area and gotten a lot of bad experiences. They were either not very professional or they spoke to me in a way that was very demeaning and condescending. Charlie took the time to explain everything that was checked on the car and told me what items that were coming up in the future that I should take a look at. I was very impressed that he spoke to me like a regular person it was a great experience! Not only am I recommending Bennett to all my friends but for now on I will be doing all my service through Bennett! Thank you again for the amazing service you guys do!

Their customer service is excellent. I went there to diagnose a problem with my car and to receive a quote for their services. I was in and out in no more than 20 minutes.The problem I had with this company was receiving a quote. They explained the problem thoroughly and named a price. When I asked to receive the quote in writing, they looked at me like I had three heads. Ten minutes later, I received a piece of paper that simply named the procedure needed to be performed and a price. There was no breakdown to explain where the price came from. I looked up the parts online and did my own calculations and I could have the same thing done by my regular mechanic for $150 less.Beware of a possible scam.
