HEY FB FAMILY, would like to share my horrible experience. My car started running bad on April 30th. So I had my son to take it so my uncle could look at it. He said it was the transmission, but he hadn t worked on a 300 transmission. Thank God I used my head last year in August. I knew I would be finished paying for my car, so I got some CarShield insurance. Some places take it, and some places don t. I heard a lot of bad things about CarShield not wanting to pay; but that wasn t my problem. The shop was. Of course I should have looked around before committing so quickly. So on May 2nd my car was towed to Doug s Transmission on North Market. My car sat for 2 months before they even attempted to fix it. One excuse was they were shorthand. Another excuse was the guy that handled the warranty insurance was out of town for a week. By this time, I called another shop to see if they were available, but he was like already 2 weeks behind on his work. So my cousin Reginald Oneal ended up going to the shop to see what was going on, i guess this kinda scared them, so they finally tried to do something. Weeks passed by, they couldn t find a transmission. So CarShield stepped in, and found one. Once they did that. My car had to go to Hebert town and Country to reprogram. It was there almost 2 weeks. When Doug s finally finished my car, I had to go sign a release paper, so the insurance people could pay them. This was Thursday August 17th. So Tuesday 22nd I called the insurance people to see what was the holdup. They told me the shop had never sent in the final invoice. So I called the shop. Within an hour the shop called and said I could come pick it up. I went and picked it up the next day during my lunch break. Get to the shop, and the guy was like that would be $775 . I said no sir, you told me $675 on 2 occasions. A couple of weeks ago you said $675. And when I came to sign the paperwork you told me $674 and some change. I made sure I had $675 in cash because they have a sign saying they charge 2% when using cards. I stood right there until he went down to $675. Trying to beat me outta an extra $100. Get in my car, take off trying to make it back to work, look around my car seeing if there were any damages since it was sitting up so long in the heat. Look in the back seat notice glass in the back seat, on the passenger side. Vent window was broke out. Made a Uturn and went back. I asked the guy why he didn t tell me my window was busted, he was like I thought I called you. LIE. And of course they have a sign saying they aren t responsible if your car is vandalized or anything stolen out your car. But anyway, he was like nobody vandalized your car, the heat broke it. I accepted that, until I told a coworker. She was like, if the heat did it, the glass would have bust outwards instead of inwards.I was without a car for almost 4 months. Missed all my doctors appointments.I DO NOT RECOMMEND DOUG S TRANSMISSION. VERY UNPROFESSIONALService: Transmission

They are extremely courteous and helped me out greatly last year when I brought my vehicle in. They do everything they're capable of doing, within reason, to let you leave comfortably not only financially, but also mentally knowing that you got the service you deserved.

Had to get my transmission rebuilt and found out for a little extra money they will stand behind a 3 year warranty. They were all super friendly too!Service: TransmissionService: Transmission

called last week, and got a nice friendly chatty guy who assured me they could fix my problem and what it was likely to cost. Told me to call today to set time to get it towed to them. Called, got another guy who put me on hold and never came back online. Called again after 20 minutes, got same guy, and he told me they can't work on my vehicle and couldn't believe I'd been told otherwise. Waste of time with these folks. I'll never use them.

Trans started going out in my car the first week of May 22, took car to shop where they diagnosed and quoted $850 repair, then had to wait 2 weeks before I was able to return car to shop. Dropped off car the last week of May, then was contacted 3 days later and told trans would need total rebuild ($2800), and was told the car would be ready the next week on Fri. On thur afternoon attempted to contact shop. Called 3 times with no answer, then was hung up on twice while on hold. When i finally got to speak with someone, was told they had not even started working on car, (after having it for 2 weeks!).When I asked when it would be ready, was told they did not know, and would not know, until they ordered parts, (that they told me was already lined up 2 wk previous) Was told that if that was not acceptable, that I could pick it up, which I did, and took it to another shop for repairs. Would not recommend this shop to anyone

Limped into this shop. They analyzed the issue. Tried to see if fixing that would be ok..nope. Transmission burned out. They had the prts ordered and transmission out in a few hrs. Next day completed all the work and told me about other issues I would need to get to soon. Price was extremly fair. The staff was very honest, informative and helpful. If you live here..take your vehicle here. Can't say enough good. Speak to Todd.

Was needing a sensor replaced. Was told sensor has been ordered, and it take about 3-4 days. It's been 2wks, sensor still not in. Local parts stores had the part in stock. Not sure why they didn't use the local parts store. However, after a few days of being at the shop, I was told someone stole my catalytic converter while it was at their shop and they are not responsible for theft or damage. Smh. At time of this post, vehicle not repaired.Service: Transmission

I cannot express how wonderful this place is! My vehicle's clutch and clutch cables went out and left me stranded on the side of the road for 5 hours. While stuck on the side of the road I read reviews for local shops to have it fixed and thanks to everyone I found Doug's! They are honest, reliable and work with you on getting the price to an affordable amount ( very very rare these days) John was great and kept in contact with me every step of the way and even called after I had picked up my car just to make sure everything was to my satisfaction. These guys are amazing! If you ever have a transmission need, do yourself a favor and take it here!

My transmission died back in February. Dougs had it completely rebuilt in a week, and, when something unrelated went wrong a few weeks later, they just charged me for labor. John at the front desk is very friendly and easy to talk to. He will keep you updated all through your repair. And the people in the shop are fast and reliable.

So after receiving several recommendations from friends and clients, decided to use them to repair one of my guy s transmissions. I knew enough to suspect that my repair wasn t a full rebuild. After they picked up the truck, doug s Called and told me that indeed I was correct. Many mechanics wouldn t do that. They repaired he problem after giving me a very reasonable price. When I went to pick up, not only was it fixed but they charged me even less due to not needing all the parts they originally said. Folks....these are great folks that you want to succeed. Use them. I will and I will sing their praises to ANYONE that needs transmission work. Thanks guys and outstanding job.

Recently I have had some dealings with Doug's transmissions and while the situation was very crappy I'm glad it led me to Doug's. They have been so good to me. Completely honest and took so much time to explain and give me advice. I would recommend to anybody anytime. Great people and experience!

I dropped my transmission off on a Monday and by Thursday morning I was getting a call saying come get it! John is great at the front desk, the technicians are superb! I was called and was very detailed about the work that was done and why it was done! These guys are awesome and I highly recommend these guys! Come see em! 10/11/2018

Went in yesterday with what I thought was a transmission issue. They ran the diagnostic, drove and lifted the truck, and weren't able to pinpoint the problem. John gave me some pointers and said the issue was most likely not transmission related, and didn't even charge me for the diagnostic since it was inconclusive.I chose this shop in the first place because of all the reviews I saw about how well they take care of their customers, and figured the least I could do was leave another review for them. They'll treat you well, and won't sell you work your vehicle doesn't need. I'm happy to have eliminated the transmission as the source of the problem, as it'll probably save me some money, but I can say for sure that this shop will be my go-to if I end up with transmission issues in the future.

Visited Monday because my transmission was acting up. After the diagnosis, John found no problems and explained to me the concept of intelligent car mechanics. He was right! My car has been fine since, so relieved and appreciated his honesty.

I have a 2005 Honda Accord. Bought brand new in '05 and it has been the best car to me ever. I had not had to taken to the shop ever until after 12 years of having it. I have a personal mechanic that does small things to it now but recently the transmission started slipping. My mechanic suggested getting it diagnosed at an actual transmission shop. I googled near by shops like we all do and Doug's pulls up with a couple others. The first did not answer, it was early afternoon time to. I called Doug's and a Mr. John answered professionally and friendly. I explained my situation and he immediately asked me some relevant questions and from that point he gave me honest, concerning, caring information for my detailed situation. Mr. John was full of energy and refreshing knowledge. To make a long story shorter, I took my Honda up there and he was the same professional, courteous guy as over the phone. He did not know it was me from the phone call so it flowed naturally. He kept the car so the specialist could look at it and called me back to let me know it had seen it's good days and no longer. But he said it in the most caring way with a few options as to which ways I could go. I eventually decided to buy a brand new car yet the Customer Sevice and knowledge Mr John gave made this process the Most pleasant experience I have ever interacted in. ....There are still some honest good guys in the mechanic world that won't just try to RIP you off!! I will send ALL my referrals to Mr. John and Doug's Transmissin... look for the little old yellow bus :-) Thank You Again Mr. John!!!!

Mr.John made the process that could have been a total headache a breeze . He made sure to keep me updated on what was going on with my car . The mechanics did a wonderful job of replacing my transmission in a timely manner . I would definitely give this shop 5 stars for their professionalism and great work .

We took one of our companies work trucks in for what we thought was the transmission going out. After their friendly staff checked it out, it ended up being just an unplugged plug under the hood. We were charged just for a service charge, where they could have been dishonest and sold us a whole new transmission. Thanks for all your honesty and service.

I had transmission rebuild after Louisiana had the big ice storm and they were very kind. It took about month, but customer service was fantastic so me less frustrated. I would highly recommend them!!

Wish i can give it a negative stars but. By far the worst shop and experience i ever had.... Paid 5k for a transmission without a warranty and ..then the transmission took a complete dump!!!! The manager ..kept hanging up on me and had proof the transmission wasnt built right. Please stay away from here.. He refused to give me the owners number!!! Transmission only lasted 4 months and under 4 k miles....

Well to start, soon as i walked in and started talking to john, he immediately started bad mouthing all the other shops in town, and were the most expensive so i regretfully bit the bait and let them rebuild. Technician seemed nice and knowledgable.. Long story short, they rebuilt it and soon as the warranty ended and i exceeded mileage for warranty (ONLY 8 MONTHS LATER), my truck starts falling out of overdrive and TCC starts slipping regularly and i called and talked to john and was basically told that i wasnt allowed to finish my work day or even drive the 1.2 miles home to park it and figure out what i was going to do, john basically told me if i didnt stop what i was doing and call a tow truck to immediately tow it there the my warranty would be void because it would be considered abuse even though it was only intermittently acting up at this point in time so i basically had the option to quit my job to get the truck fixed or my warranty would be voided, took to a different reputable shop in town and they told me that this is the 3rd vehicle this year that they are having to rebuild that came from this place and the last one they tore apart didnt have ANY new parts inside of it at all and the man bet me "if you come watch me take yours apart, i bet yours doesnt have any new parts either" i took the bet and watched as he tore it down and BINGO, all the same old parts that even looked as if they have never been replaced (REBUILD 8 MONTHS AGO) so now im out 2400 dollars for the first rebuild and just paid for another. I never write reviews, but i felt that people should know about this place and all their smooth talking.. All in all, its your decision, just hope you have quite a few extra thousand dollars sitting around just in case.

Went to Doug's transmission with what I thought was transmission problem. Thanks to the honesty of this business I was told the only problem I had was a misfire on cylinder #5. He could have fixed the problem and charged me for transmission problem and I would have never known the difference .I recommend these professionals to anyone .

I recently experienced a transmission issue and after 2 weeks and repeated trips to the Ford dealership in Bossier City, I took my SUV to Doug s. I dropped the SUV off at 11:30am and by 4:30 pm I received a call from Doug s with a diagnosis of the issue. I highly recommend Doug s Transmission repair!

Awesome shop all the way around... went in for tcc fix on 4l60e ended up with rebuild after further inspection... 3 day turn around... fair price, good warranty, and willing to please... by far one of my best transmission experience to date.. will be using them for a high performance build in the near future..

They came to our rescue when we had transmission problems while on vacation. Found a reasonably priced fix and got us back on the highway in short order. Highly recommend them.
