We hired Jimmy's to fix my 2005 GMC envoy. Made them aware that myself And two kids would be traveling 1100 miles in it and it needed to be in good running condition. We fly down from VA and pick it up, it's misfiring so severely it will barely run. Battery was dead and continues to die. We've been stuck here for over a week, diagnosing and repairing it ourselves. So many things were overlooked and I was told to just run fuel treatment through it. The 02 sensor was left unplugged, a vacuum line was off, and 3 different sensors were completely undiagnosed and causing it to misfire. 3 coils were replaced but it still had a misfire on cylinder 6. Charged $1000 just to have us throw more money and parts at it in order to make it back home. Would have sent it back but we don't trust them to actually repair it to the point of being safe for myself and my kids to take it back to VA. 0/10 do not recommend this shop to anyone who doesn't want to get completely ripped off.

This review is actually from a while back because I ve gone back-and-forth with if I wanted to post about My experience. The service was good. However the receptionist in charge of phones was so rude and disrespectful that I haven t gone back and I live super close.Basically I had a car insurance claim and the information got miscommunicated or some thing, I was told by progressive to contact them To get information for my paperwork for my insurance check. Now without going into too much detail it has been some time for this paperwork to get done so I understand her being caught off guard but her attitude was horrendous. Almost felt like she made a joke out of my situation and it s like it could be a mess up on progressive s part but I m assuming you have a car. I m the one with a lost car trying to get my insurance check, was told to call this place, and now you re telling me that you don t know what I m talking about. (It s a small town, I m sure I m not well liked personally by them. But you re still a business. And I came to your services for help. )It seem trivial at the time but I felt like I should make a review because an attitude like that can hurt a business. I get it you may not like every customer you come in contact with or they might annoy you but if they re having car troubles, since that s a stressful situation, and they came to you to fix it; At least don t mock them.

I had an vehicle that needed a transmission replaced. I went in and talked to Jimmy, and he said he could do the work, and immediately called to see if the parts were available. They were and he wrote up a reasonable quote and ordered the parts. I dropped the vehicle off and he had it completed at the estimated cost and a couple of day ahead of schedule.This may seem like a simple job and not a big deal. But I had already called every transmission shop between McComb and Hammond and only one even worked on standard transmissions, and that place had my vehicle for 5 weeks and never even touched it. So someone that can and does do what they say they will, is definitely worth a 5 star review.

I found them to be honest. They found other brake hose problems while test driving the truck. Easy to talk to and relate why and what needed fixed. Thank you again.

We got a terrific deal on having seals replaced on my son's vehicle. The vehicle was ready when they said it would be. They called us rather than us calling them to get a status. Overall a 5 star place

We were from out of town when the car died. All the local people recommended Jimmy's Engine Repair, saying that Jimmy's shop had been doing good work for the community for many years. Knowing that we were from out of town, Jimmy moved my car to the front of the line, because he understood that we were having to spend money on a hotel until the car was sorted. They got right to diagnosing the vehicle and did so quickly, efficiently, and economically. They identified the problem right away and gave honest advice about our options for the car. Jimmy, Susan, and their team exceeded our expectations and were extremely sympathetic to our trouble as travelers. I wish I could find a shop like this in San Antonio.

We normally take our cars to ford, but a neighbor told us about Mr.Jimmy s shop, These are the most honest people ever, My husband and I knew we needed a new engine so we figured we needed a new transmission also, we bought the car to Mr. Jimmy and he called us the next day and said that we didn t need a transmission, now that proves that there are still some honest mechanics, but we just got him to do the transmission anyway, rather than having trouble with it in a year, You guys rock!!!!!
