I dropped my car off to get a quote. Next day I get the quote that was much higher than expected (they already started repairs) is it normal to start repairs before you give estimate. They are crooks!!! They charged over 6500 and caused multiple issues that weren t there before. They somehow managed to bust my radiator then denied it. I literally had to get my car towed lol. Now I have it back and I noticed the window on the door they repaired won t roll up or down without making a horrible cracking sound. Called to complain and the manager was in a meeting . I just want the job done Correctly.. is that really so much to ask. These people would rather make little sissy excuses than admit when they mess up. They suck, and you would be better off taking your car elsewhere I promise.

Got my windshield replaced and I'm very disappointed with the installation. The rain moulding is wavy and uneven. When I called to schedule for it to be looked at, the guy who came was rude to me and talked to me like I'm an idiot. For $300, a new windshield should look properly seated. Even if I'm wrong, don't talk down to me or dismiss my concerns. Please send your technicians to some classes to learn basic customer service and communication skills.

We took our 2017 Volvo XC90 in after it was hit while parked outside my home. I took my car in, and their work was terrible... they didn't catch that the steering wheel and tires were totally misaligned; they never replaced one of the rear red reflector; afterward, the sensors were all out of whack (the dealer said Gerber did not wire the sensors in correctly); and, they didn't catch the leaking rear evaporator for the a/c... I know this would have taken more time to inspect the car to find these things, but I thought that was part of the process... still, I would not recommend Gerber Collision.

Awesome spot. The first body shop I ve ever called that you can always reach a person instead of voicemail where no one will call you back.Damon helped me and was straight up with me on everything. I had no feelings like I was talking to someone trying to rip me off. They send you texts/ call about timeline updates which was very helpful!

Very disappointed with the inability tocorrect what the customer will see once the vehicle is picked up. Had to bring back several times to fix what should have been done before we initially picked the vehicle up. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

Great experience working with Gerber after a hit-and-run accident caused $10k worth of damage. My vehicle looks brand new. Gerber personnel were responsive to my calls and absolute professionals throughout the process. Huge thanks to Steph she really took care of me and I can t speak highly enough for her professionalism.

Brought my car in for two separate incidents through my insurance and they fixed my car like new both times. They kept me updated, and the staff were always very friendly.

Had my car taken here for front bumper work. The guy Tony told me about the warranty and if I see anything that's not right contact him. I noticed that one side of my bumper looked like it was slipping. I've called and emailed to no avail...06/11 Update: After I received an response on this post I was immediately emailed by Tony. He told me to bring my vehicle in to resolve the issue. Upon arrival Tony explained to me why the issue occurred. It took less that 30 mins for the repair. I was assured that if the issue occurs again that more serious measure for repair will take place.

Jordan and Brittany were the two representatives, to help me schedule my services. And they were awesome! I informed them of my situation relating to my repairs. Time was a major concern. They assisted me with the ensurance that the payor would have as close to an accurate estimate as possible in order to make a full payment. It was all successful my vehicle was repaired the same day and the full payment was made by the payor, the next day prior to the estimate being emailed. I truly appreciate Jordan and Brittany assistance!!!Service: Body & Trim

Horrible!!!!Disappointing to say the least. I decided to let Gerber Collision and Glass do repairs as they were recommended by my insurance company. I dropped my car off on the day of my appointment. I received a call from the agent assign to my car the next day 15 minutes before closing stating that he has bad news. He stated that my insurance company said do not touch my car because they had to verify my insurance coverage (Mind you I was in a rental through the insurance company utilizing the same claim number). Also my car's battery was dead. Not sure how that happened being as though you were unable to touch my car....and stated the car was in the same parking spot since I parked it the prior day. Well the next day I decided to head over there before work. My car sure enough had been moved. I asked the agent were was my car and how was if moved if the battery was dead and my insurance company said don't touch it. He stated it was a miscommunication and the mechanic stated the battery was dead because I (me) must have left the lights on. At this point I am getting angry because not only are you not telling the truth but you were blaming me. I told him that wasn't true because like all newer model cars my lights are set to automatic. Also the car would not lock. It was also daylight so no lights weren't needed. He tried to explain but he knew I wasn't believing anything he way saying. I left to go to work as he stated he would get things straighten out. He called about a hour later saying he got things taken care of. I asked how long do he think the repairs would take. He said he would have to order the parts and hopefully it doesn't take long. He would have to outsource the glass repair because he wasn't sure they would be able fix it. I decided to go get my car because I wasn't happy and I didn't want to pay for a rental that I really didn't need.....Fast forward I picked my car up around lunch time. Needless to say my windshield was cracked even further. I was cracked the entire length of the windshield. Of course the lady tried to blame on the heat but I know better. DO NOT DO BUSINESS with GERBER!! The customer service agents are great. Just this location is horrible. Never again.

Was referred to them by my insurance. They work by appointment only, which is respectable/understandable, but they do not have appointments within 3 weeks...so unless you can go without your car for 4-5 weeks or it's perfectly drivable, then this does you no good. Woman at the front desk was less than helpful.I understand shops need time to review estimates, order parts, etc., but this place will not work for a working person that needs body work done within 3 weeks time.

I've been to several other auto shops in New Orleans, but wanted to try this one because it conveniently shares the lot with Enterprise car rental. I needed to replace a skid-plate on the undercarriage of my Jeep and fix minor low front bumper damage. I spoke with Tony, who was great, left my Jeep, got a rental, and was estimated 5-7 days for repairs. That was the first week of October 2021. They were initially great with updates and communication. After the first week, zero communication. After five weeks of me calling off-and-on about the status of my car, piling rental car fees, and no progress with my claim, I decided to pick up my car a go elsewhere. They even promised to keep me updated for when my parts did arrive from the manufacturer. Never heard back from them. I paid fees/my deductible for parts that were never delivered to me to this very day, April 2022. A brief list of other New Orleans auto shops with faster service and comparatively better customer service that I'd recommend before going to this location: Boudreaux's Automotive Care (Gentilly Blvd), Mossy Motors, A Vargas Body Shop.

I don't typically give reviews of any kind unless I have a particularly spectacular 5-star experience but I hope no one has to endure an experience as stressful and absurd as I did with Gerber this week. I had my car towed from an accident scene to Gerber on a Sunday. Expecting a collision center to have a secure after hours drop off location available I sent my car along. The voicemail box was full so I called ASAP Monday morning to fill them in and request an estimate. I was informed that they could not find my vehicle. It was over 2 hours until they called me back to inform me they had found it. It was outside their gates because they do not have a proper place to drop off a vehicle after hours. They charged me $50 to bring it 20 feet inside the gate! On top of that they did not give me a proper estimate until late Wednesday because they claimed my insurance company needed to look at it even though I told them on Monday morning I would be paying out of pocket and only had liability. When I requested an estimate of just the mechanical needs I was promised it would be inspected Thursday morning first thing. I had to call them 30 minutes before closing on Thursday because I had yet to hear from them. All this time I was without a vehicle and they were unable to provide any kind of rental to me. Their estimate was way overpriced and after the poor service I had and being told they would be unable to begin working on it for 1-2 weeks, I towed it across town and was able to have the work done cheaper even with brand new parts. I expected better out of a company with so many locations and 4 star ratings on Google but I can assure you they have lost all my business and I will be warning all my friends to steer clear in the future.

My car was wrecked and couldn t find anyone in Houma area to fix it before December so I would have been out a car for 9 months. Called gerber and they got my car in and ordered parts / painted / and ready for me very quickly. They kept me updated throughout the process via texts so that I wasn t wondering about what was going on. They handled the insurance part. Car looks and sounds like a new car again. Highly recommend the whole team from front desk / middle man / body shop/paint. Top notch service from start to finish. Hopefully I ll never need them again but if I do I will be using this location and shop again. Thanks.Services: Painting, General repairs & maintenance, Body & Trim

Excellent service, wonderful repair of auto damage. Looks like a "Shiny New Car "Headlight out and they changed it and installed mirror cover in 15 minutes. Amazing, everyone else told me to leave car for at least 2hours. Ask for Stephanie, she is the greatest.

Not great, not terrible. Certainly could be a lot better. Despite scheduling an appointment, emailing all relevant information and calling the day before to confirm my appointment my information was not to be found when I went in for my appoint. Took 1.5 hrs from drop off to leaving. People behind me line where having the same problem, indicating the individuals answering the central phones need some training. When it came to the actual repairs, I question the approach of repairing the bumper vs replacing (like the other two body shops had recommended). I suspect the cheaper approach was taken to appease the insurance company rather than truly bringing the vehicle to its pre accident condition, aka not having a repaired bumper. The rear bumper and quarter panel where repaired and the entire bumper clear coated. This resulted in those section being shiny/brighter and not blending in with the rest of the vehicle making it obvious that it has been repaired. When this was brought up, I was reminded that the rest of the car wasn't within the scope and they made their repairs properly as they are a "professional shop". This was then followed by how professional and great their work was by the mgr, even warrantied by them and state farm (can only imagine how that experience is...) as if that makes it better. I will now be having to get the car detailing to try and get it somewhat similar. Frankly disappointing, you either do a job properly or not.In conclusion, if you have a leased car, or need a repair quicker than your regular shop (in my case), or don't care that much as long as it looks ok this might be the place for you.And I will save you the trouble, no I don't need or want to speak to the mgr.Next time back to the mfg. certified body shop.----------------------------------------------------------Update one month later, no one followed up on this feedback, no conversations where had, voicemails, texts or emails. In fact, if the person responding to the reviews could actually read them rather than just pasting the same response to all negative feedback, they would have seen that I had specifically asked for no one to follow up as there is little that can be done at this point.Odd thing, several friends had mentioned similar poor to medium poor experiences.Services: Painting, Body & Trim

All I can say is wow! Gerber collision is the place to take your car if you need body work done especially after an accident! Mr. Tony is amazing!! I brought my car here in pretty bad shape after a wreck and a whole different state and they immediately got my car in due to having Geico insurance. My car was in pretty bad shape. The whole passenger side was messed up pretty bad and needed a lot of attention. I was put in a rental car through Hertz off of Convention Center boulevard and they worked on my car for two weeks. when I got my car back I couldn't believe how beautiful of a job they did! My car had been newly repainted on top of all the fixing they did due to the Collision. Thank you so much Gerber Collision for everything that you've done for me. I really appreciate y'all! Make sure you ask for mr. Tony if you have any questions about your car! Thru do amazing work here!!Service: Body & Trim

Their quality control needs improvement. (1) When my car was returned after completion, there were two significant scratches on a newly painted panel. I had to leave it an extra day but they did pay for the rental. (2) Their technician had to disconnect a liftgate switch to do the repair but did not re-connect it. Had to come back and sit in their waiting room while they fixed this. They did admit to the mistake. (3) One of the painted panels has a rough "orange peel" texture. It was too much trouble to fight with them on this, too..... so I leave it as a reminder to go elsewhere.Service: Body & Trim

PLEASE read other comments & reviews. Yes, they have resolved prior complaints because by State law they HAVE TO! This is by far the absolute worst place to bring your vehicle! Listen & read all reviews. My thoughts are they have a substantial number of dissatisfied customers but no one wants to take the time to put it in writing. I always enter reviews for complimentary reasons and stay away from negative. My gut was telling me not to bring my vehicle because of reviews but gave them the benefit of doubt. My insurance is paying for all the damages & they have been helpful. Enterprise even said Gerber keeps them busy. Enterprise always provides EXCELLENT service! The collision company is welcoming upon arrival but no follow up. I had to call this morning to confirm only to find out Tony is off today. On Wednesday Tony was more interested in lunch break than ordering a part for the repairs. Tony did not even extend me the courtesy of replying to my email, which I repeatedly requested while I was there. Thank God I was able to experience this before leaving my vehicle for simple repairs. Now I have to go back to the drawing board & start all over. Kenny called only because I left a message early this morning with receptionist. Kenny discussed the issues , Tony did nothing for last 2 days, etc. Told Kenny I will not be bringing my vehicle because Gerber is already discussing and speaking TO me about issues . With all respect, if we already have issues BEFORE then cannot imagine what the end result would ve been. Kenny replied by saying that s fine and didn t even care about customer service, lost revenue, for the company. Do not be fooled by their initial 1st impression!I can presume the owner is wealthy enough and does not need additional customers. Therefore BEWARE! Very unprofessional and obviously doesn t care about how and who he employs to represent his business.

UPDATE: Since my original post, the manager reached out to me to bring the car back in. I just picked up the car and they were able to address the issue with the hood. Great customer service!Original Post: I brought my car here a couple of months ago for a minor fender-bender. Paint job so far is good. But it stops right there! When I picked up the car, there were a bunch of seals that were missing. After I brought to there attention, they ordered the parts and I had to go back again to get them installed. My main issue with this shop is attention to details. When I received the car, the hood was not aligned correctly. They tried to adjusted and they made it worse. There excuse was that's how the car came from the factory. They even insisted that they can take me to a dealership to show the same thing on new cars.Since then, I have looked at new and used cars similar to my model and all of them had their hood perfectly aligned, just like my car was before the accident.Just to add one more thing, my interior was covered in dust, as if the door or window was left open while they were sanding the car next to it!If you are looking for a quick repair, this is the best shop for you. If you are looking for detail and accurate work, search some other shops.

No stars if I could. First, I came to pick my vehicle up, and there were still scratches from the accident on the lower part of the driver's side panel. They "fixed it" within 5 minutes. Second, a week later I notice that my $700 window tint job had been scratched when they removed my door, AND they left tape residue and tape on my car. They were terrible at following up with me and I had to call THEM to get status updates (multiple times) on when they could give me a check for the tint replacement. Horrible attention to detail. Would not recommend them for anything.

Absolutely terrible service. They forgot they had an appointment with me, then they missed their alleged repair date by weeks, then the LEFT MY CAR OUTDOORS OVERNIGHT WITHOUT WINDOWS ON IT. Or a tarp. On the Gulf Coast. Unsurprisingly, it rained in my car. They literally did more damage than the storm I was getting it repaired for

I dropped my car off and had it back in less than a week. I have always come to this body shop to get my cars fixed over the years. I came when it used to be Champs, they take good care of your vehicle and if you have any problems they will remedy them.

Don't bring your car here. The customer care is horrible. My car was completed and I wasn't notified until almost a week later resulting in me have to pay for my rental car for a week out of my pocket. The manager I spoke to said he couldn't help me with that. I was on my own.

I'm adding another star again because Tony bought a brand new spoiler and installed it with no additional charge. I don't think Gerber made any money from my spoiler paint job since the new spoiler might have cost more than what I paid them to repaint the original one. So it took awhile, but Tony/Gerber took care of any problems.Adding a star because Tony fixed the white spot problem - apparently it was just overspray from the neighbor painting - and the tiny hole in the seat. Now there's a new problem - bubbling of the paint on the spoiler, which I was warned might happen since they said the first two times they painted it, it did the same thing. The previous owner of my car had painted it with spray paint, which might have eaten into the plastic, and even though they sanded it down well beyond the spray paint layer, it effected the plastic farther down? Weird. Anyway, Tony said he'd find another spoiler. By the way, Kenneth never called. I called Tony, and that's how the issues above that were fixed got fixed. They were nice and easy to deal with, but I had a few small problems and then a bigger problem. The small problems... First my car took a few days longer than expected, which didn't really bother me at all. When I got the car back, it looked good, except they hadn't vacuumed the passenger seat and there was something spilled across my console. There was also a minuscule hole in the passenger seat from where a welding bead burned a hole in it. I pointed this out, and they cleaned the car right away. I was told an upholstery repair guy would call me the next day to mend the hole. I never heard from him. I let it go because the hole is so small. The bigger problems were that several days after I got my car back, I noticed the new paint they put on is slightly darker than the old shade. It's the type of thing you only notice if you're looking for it, and even then, I'm not sure most people would see it. OK, so I was just going to leave it, but now tiny white dots are coming out in the paint. This is definitely noticeable, and it needs to be redone.

Used them for a fender bender with my Kia Soul. Communicated daily through their text message system on the status of my car, gave me an estimated pickup time and date and completed everything on time. My car was returned spotlessly clean and the work was perfect. Would absolutely use them again.
