Family run for decades! If you live downtown this is the place to go. They were friendly, professional and fast! Dropped car off 7.30am, waited 30 minutes or so for Brian to diagnose problem. Carole called and let me know exactly what the repairs were going to cost, no surprises! Got my car back same day! I ll be going here again!

I am officially a loyal customer and will not go anywhere else with my car. These are good people who will work with you to make sure you know which repairs are absolutely necessary and explain exactly what they are doing. Earlier in the summer, before a big road trip, they told me exactly what needed to be repaired for the mechanic to feel okay with me driving that far, and what he thought could wait til I got back. They recently saved me from a scam, where a different mechanic in the city wanted to charge me $3,000 to replace the brakes, rotors, and calipers on all my wheels. They looked and found exactly which parts really needed replacing and it was a fraction of that price. These guys are reasonable and nice and they feel like family keeping you safe.

I've been going to Cacamo's for 15+ years - through two generations of the Cacamo family - and trust them implicitly.Other shops have tried to rip me off in the craziest ways - one even trying to tell me that my carburetor was a $1000 "drivability capacitor" that I needed to have replaced.Fortunately, I know my automotive parts and basic repairs, so I kept searching for a reliable mechanic - and have been a Cacamo's client ever since a good friend recommended them to me.Cacamo's is not only HONEST, both with diagnostics and fair pricing, but they are FAST! I had a head gasket leak - usually a pretty pricey and laborious repair - that was less than $500 and was done the same day.My friends and family all go to Cacamo's and highly recommend and respect this family -owned company.

I've used this shop since 2007 to be exact. A co- worker recommended this shop and I have never had a bad experience. They don't try to get over and do excellent work.

Absolutely the best shop I've ever used, hands down. Can't sing their praises enough. Heard of them from a friend I've known since high school. The service I receive here is top-notch and has saved me literally hundreds if not thousands of dollars over the years.

Mechanic, manager and staff have no idea where my car went, but agree to working on it!I went today to pick it up and the was straight up GONE!I was told by the lady at the counter that it was my fault because although I communicated with them, I took too long to get the car. The lady was extremely rude. She all but told me to get the fug out. She told me that I was playing games, she didn't have time to get me a copy of my receipt and just continued to berate me. I remained calm then sat down and asked for the manager. She said he wasn't there, she didn't know where he was and she wasn't going to call him and bother him with this nonsense. The manager showed up and agrees to have worked on the car, but didn't know where the car went.I have since contacted an attorney and filed a police report.I'd advise you to take your vehicle to a company more professional. They also keep all of their records and receipts in a spiral notebook.Don't take your car here!

Great experience. Quick service and kinda staff. I came in for an oil change and a rattling noise that was a control arms issue.

I ve only had positive experiences bringing my car in for repairs and diagnostics. They are honest and fair, wait time can be a couple of weeks but that s par for the course with a small reliable business. Really liked their service! We needed a general check up. The lady at the front was super nice and kind and explained everything with lots of patience. If they don't think something is worth being repaired, they will tell you. I have the feeling they care about your spending. I will bring my car here from now on!

I went to them a few times last year and their prices were good and I thought the job seemed good. I had a problem with one of the repairs that seemed like something hadn't been tightened properly, leading to some expensive issues. I was expecting to get the usual run around and that it was not their fault. Instead they were very reasonable about it and took care of the issue. I appreciate their honesty and integrity. We all make mistakes sometimes, but in this world it's hard to find businesses that take accountability. Thanks cacamos. :)Service: General repairs & maintenance

My family and I have brought out vehicles to them for many years and one of the things I can say about this business they have been honest about their workmanship. If they cannot fix it, they will let you know. If something goes wrong with a repair they've completed, they have said to bring it back. Just recently, I saw the owner Allen. He was quite funny saying "they brought me out of retirement, but I told them I'm just giving them two days!"Keep up the wonderful customer service Ms. Carol as well as the mechanics.

Brought my 06 Silverado here to get the fuel injectors replaced. They put the wrong part on my truck and it was spilling fuel everywhere. Truck was dead reliable before I brought it to them but has had numerous issues related to the wrong part being in the truck. Was told my only option is to pay another $1400 to have the injectors replaced again.I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH TO GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. This is not the same company it once was since it changed owners.

They are honest and trustworthy. A tire dealership told me that I needed expensive front end work. I took it to Cacamo's and they put it on the rack and inspected it. They told me there was nothing wrong. Because they don't charge for estimates there was no cost. My extended family has been using them for several years.Services: Steering & suspension repair, Oil changeServices: Steering & suspension repair, Oil change

This is a true family business and you're treated as part of the family when you bring your car here. I would never take my car anywhere else. Their prices are beyond fair; they would never try to swindle you out of a few extra bucks, and their work is 100% quality. My car needed a ton of work because of serious deception from a prior owner who taped over the check engine and oil light from inside the dashboard/cluster. So the car had all these problems I wasn't privy to. Alan and Brian kept me informed throughout the whole repair process and spent countless unpaid hours finding the origin of all these issues. They really went above and beyond any expectations of a car repair shop and I can't recommend them enough.

These people care about their customers! I needed a quick look at my brakes and they fit me in the very next day. Fair prices and honest work. I'd let my daughter take her car there and wouldn't even follow up. Cacamo's is the best!

Don't buy parts and bring them here. If you are going to buy parts make sure you speak directly to the owner to make sure that he can guarantee his work. I bought brand new parts out of the store with approval from the owner. Once they assembled them I had mechanical issues with them only a week later. I strongly believe that they tried their best but there was a lack of communication. Once I brought him my vehicle the third time he changed the parts out I personally had bought that were higher quality. I was upset because he didn't communicate with me and tell me that he was going to take my parts out. I asked for the parts back that I bought for the vehicle and he got upset when I asked for them. I let him keep them because I didn't want to escalate the tension. My car is not riding any better than when I brought it in. The squeaks aren't completely gone either. So I feel like I didn't get my moneys worth.

After moving back to New Orleans two years ago, I had been yet to find a great, reliable place to bring my truck. After some car troubles I decided I'd try Cacamo's. I was not disappointed by any reviews. I spoke primarily with Carol and Alan and they were both extremely polite, down to earth, and accommodating. While getting a vehicle worked on can be inconvenient and stressful at times, the two of them and their staff made the experience easy and stress free. I will be going back to them in the future for sure!

Great service. Low prices. Quick turn around.I called around to different shops and he was $200 cheaper than other "stealerships" on replacing motor mounts.I've gone there twice. He explains things without a condescending attitude and we share fishing stories. Super sweet guy. I absolutely recommend this place. Bring your car in that morning, pick it up that afternoon. Boom!

Quick, friendly service. I needed a new alternator for my Ford Explorer. I was in and out in less than an hour. They had an alternator in stock, charged me $150 for it and my total bill, with a $60 tow was $325. I was able to listen in on some phone conversations where they were working to find the best price on a part for another customer, and they really seemed to take time to find the cheapest option. I'll be using them in the future, and calling them for advice if its something they can't handle.

I have brought my car into Cacamo's at least 3 times in the past couple of years, because it's an old, high-mileage car (or should I say, was). I have never felt jerked around or cheated and they've always given my car a thorough look-over every time I've brought it in. When my car finally rusted out underneath (it came from up north, where they salt the roads in winter), they were still willing to give it a look and help me decide whether to try repairing it or call it totaled - they did this without charging me for their time, when in the end I decided to scrap it. You won't be disappointed with this shop.

Those guys have years of experience behind them, they're straight forward and take time to chat about your vehicle and answer any questions you have. They were the only one in New Orleans wiling to service our '86 Chevy van. They have honest prices too.

I have been there twice And recommended a friend. Fast, friendly service run with the feel of a developed over decades neighborhood feel. True test for me, is being female , going into this environment and being treated as equals- not being intimidated , in a male dominated industry is more than half-the battle won. Pricing is very fair....

We had a brake repair required on a cross country trip. Brought truck to Cacamo s and two hours later we were back on the road. Faster and less money than we ever expected. It s been a long time since I enjoyed a trip to the auto mechanics. Thanks for everything

Great experience with them. Got a tune up, called first thing on a monday morning and they were able to squeeze me in early and had it done in the timeframe I needed. Very friendly staff, from the front desk staff to the mechanic who came out and took an additional look at my vehicle when I came back with a question later.

I was there to check my service engine light. The guy made a examine with the computer, gave me extra brake liquid and let me go with 0 charge. Of course I tipped him, but it was very quick, good and friendly. Recommended highly from me.

My car broke down on a road trip and I was more than fortunate to find Cacamo's.I was treated honestly, with respect, even given advice on places to eat nearby while my vehicle was worked on.Good to know there are still honest mechanics left.

I had such a poor experience with these guys. New to the city, needing a mechanic and not having any personal references to follow up on, I went to the internet for a recommendation. Cacamo's had glowing reviews!1st red flag...I never received a phone call saying the work on my Jeep was complete. I called the following morning and was told they had called me and I just hadn't returned the call. Well, no.2nd red flag...I had asked them specifically to put my clutch lock on if it was going to be parked outside (open Jeep for anyone to jump in). It wasn't on when I picked it up.3...It made the same noises after I left as when it had dropped it off. They a redeeming opportunity though bc I was bringing it back the following week (bc they hadn't called, refer to #1, they hadn't done all the necessary work without getting permission (thank you for that!))4...Brought it back my scheduled day the following week, and they had no recollection of my appt or of what needed to be done. I was told the quote I was given the previous week needed to be reexamined and that they probably wouldn't be able to get to it within the next day, or two!5...I made sure they had the correct phone # and asked again to have the clutch lock put on, and that's when things turned uglyyyy. The man got all sorts of upset, saying how it wasn't going to be stolen (showing me the camera images and throwing his arms around) that they'd been there 32 years and if I didn't trust them I should go elsewhere. I asked that he just listen to what I was asking, that I didn't expect the Jeep to be stolen, but c'mon, it's New Orleans. He stormed out, I followed, bc I was heated about not being heard and being spoken over. He wouldn't speak to me after that, except to continue to mumble loudly and be all pissy, saying he didn't have time for it. I'm pretty calm and very respectful, I don't know what set him off, but boy whatever it was, it really got him. Speaking over me and getting mildly aggressive towards me bc I asked them to do it how I requested isn't an awesome way to handle a customer about to give you a decent amount of cash.I'm a small business owner that would have happily given them a nice flow of business, hadn't Paul Cacamo taken his bad mood out on me. So I took Paul's advise and went elsewhere.

Cacamos Owner is dishonest and doesn t care. Said nothing wrong with car, even though vibrating terribly. They never put it up on rack to look at it. Said they did. Told us to drive it 1000 miles home on a holiday weekend. Would have been stranded. Santos automotive showed us ruined cv axles that wouldn t have made it 50 miles. Avoid cacamos like the plague!
