Horrible experience. Took a week to fix the car, after stating it would be done day after day, constantly pushing it back. The workers STOLE money and other possessions out of the car. After they fixed the engine the RPM goes up like crazy at the slightest touch of the gas pedal, and the engine shakes going speeds over 60 mph. Wouldn t pick up the phone for updates. They fixed the issue, charged $400, only for the car to not even start and it required more repairs. Did they not even try to start it or pop open the hood? Different people were giving different prices for the fix and it was obvious they were trying to scalp me and take some of the money for themselves. And it was VERY expensive regardless. Over $2,000. They seemed great and responsive at first, but after the first day became extremely shady and uncommunicative. I cannot believe they stole things from my car. Do not come here.(Not to mention they only take cash or cashapp and do not take credit and debit cards so you cannot dispute it if something goes wrong and they screw you over. Oscar and his team really came through when I was in town for just a couple of days and was in an accident. He was able to get my car drivable so we could make it back home safely. They were able to fix my car quickly even on a holiday. Amigo Auto Repair does excellent work. Everyone is polite and professional. They have excellent customer service and explain your options to get your car up and running. I stop this morning on my way to work because my tire pressure was low but this tire had been filled with air 3 times before so I just needed the dummy on until I get off only 1 person spoke English but I was guided all the way to him with a smile from other workers I explained and he said of course we can help I went to pay only had a card not cash he said it s ok we will still change the tire omg omg of course I will return to pay but the least I could do is offer up a review on my lunch break I also made it to work on time to clock in at 9 am I really appreciate everyone at this shop very welcoming and helpful even guided my car out like an air traffic controller when I was done lol

Really amazing service for an excellent price. Came in with a broken radiator and they had it fixed within 2 hours. Incredibly friendly and brilliant customer service. No hidden agenda either - a really honest business and would definitely return for any other issues

Took my car in for a check engine light. Got it fixed the same day! Also, the gentleman upfront was very kind an considerate; it was a hot day and he gave us a bottle of water and made sure we have a fan pointed towards us. The gesture was appreciated.

I am very thankful to Oscar and his team of dedicated mechanics.After we accidentally backed into a short pole (ouch), our car trunk wouldn t close. Plus another problem.They fixed both in a timely manner for a reasonable price.Professional. Friendly. Great at diagnostics.Highly recommend.Services: Engine repair, Auto body & trim replacement

My vehicle was broken into and vandalized at the shop and Oscar said that it "wasn't his problem" and that I should look around at the neighborhood and know what kind of place I'm leaving my vehicle at. I just brought it in for some body work on my bumper and ended up having to spring to pay for windows, a windshield, and two flattened tires on top of that. After I gave Oscar the money for the parts and labor he called me up two days later and said that my vehicle was stolen off the property and that they are unsure who did it or how to track them down. They said they will file a complaint with NOPD but there is still no update. It's been almost a month and a half now. It's as if it was literally driven off the lot and they're acting like it vanished into thin air. I would definitely never recommend this shop to anybody who cares about their vehicle. They are swindlers and dishonest and I believe they had something to do with my vehicle "disappearing."

This shop is 1000% he and his workers are honest and compassionate and his prices are VERY REASONABLE!!!!! we bring our truck to his shop each and every time from small repairs to large repairs Oscar is a honest man his shop is in order me and my daughter will continue to pay for his services!!! I brought my suv here after being referred and the customer service was impeccable thank you to the entire crew for their hospitality and service while I was waiting on the repairs to be completed. They were able to find problems and fix them when no one else could tell me what was wrong with my car. It didn t take but a long just a few hours where as other shops would try to hold my car for days. They also offer towing and other services which makes it easier and faster to transport non working vehicles. Thank you for your service, you guys are appreciated. Not from the city, so I hadn't had any experience with any mechanics in the area until recently. My car stopped starting fully when I got off work Thursday. Tried to do a bit of trouble shooting Friday to no avail. Had to work again on Sunday so Saturday was my only day to get my vehicle to a mechanic. Oscar and his crew were very patient, available to get to last minute on a Saturday, and provided reasonable prices with speedy and professional work. Helped me out in a pinch and explained what he did and what was wrong. Had to leave a positive review and will definitely know I can come to him in the New Orleans area.Service: Auto maintenance

Oscar and his team are kind and quick. I found Amigo s on Google and so glad I did. They were able to figure out my car issue & replace the part within a few hours. I was shocked and pleased. The price was also right. So glad I found a local mechanic that I trust !

No one likes getting their car repaired. But if I must, I d rather go here. They re honest, fast and always teach me something new about my car. I recommend them to anyone in the GNO looking for a good mechanic.

Over $1,500 in labor later and this shop still did not fix my headlights, belt, stuck window, etc. They told me this would be a quick job and kept coming up with reason after reason why I needed a new part and why I had to wait for the next business day to come get my car until it was over four weeks later after the initial point of drop off. When we went to retrieve the car he took it around the block and with-held it at his house until he was satisfied with the payment. Upon receiving the car back the stereo, seat covers, after markeg L.E.D. lights, and subwoofer were removed from the vehicle. When asked about this Oscar claimed "it happens" and offered no other explanation. The owner is criminally negligent and is running some type of illegal activity that this shop is a front for. His employees are dangerous and this is not a safe space, specifically for a woman alone. Please save your time and money and go to an honest mechanic's shop and stay far, far away from Oscar and his crew of thieves.

One of my car door s lock got damaged and I could not even close it. Oscar fixed it right away on a very busy Saturday afternoon!Not only is it hard or near impossible to find a mechanic that s open on a Saturday afternoon, but Oscar and his team were so nice and took care of my problem.Highly recommend!Thank you Oscar!

My car was in dire need of maintenance. An overdue tune up, oil change, new tires, new rotors, new brakes, new shocks/struts and a steering column fix. It only took about 30 minutes for Chris to put a parts estimate together for me! I then expected them to take about a week to do all the work, but Chris told me the car would be ready the next day! I was floored. Just as promised, I returned the next day to find my car fully repaired with everything I asked for. I did a quick drive to ensure everything was on the level. It was. This was the best shop experience I've ever had. No joke, I called the day before and they told me to bring my car in first thing in the morning- didn t get there till noonish And they STILL told me it d be done the same day. 4 hours later, my car was good as new. Can t recommend these guys enough, best in NOLA(I had a front right strut done for reference)

Fantastic guys; I was desperate calling around every shop in town to get my brakes checked out and they were the only ones to ask me for details on the phone and get me in that day. I drove up and they got right to work, found the issue, and had me back on the road in less than an hour. Highly recommend!

AMAZING people! Saw the car last minute on a Sunday. Fixed it in the rain. Was super kind and informative. Fair pricing. Let us just chill in the shop to escape rain and heat. Definitely definitely recommend.

As soon as I arrived the worker came out ask what problems I was having and if they can repair your vehicle that day he will. The prices are reasonable and I was very satisfied with the work. If not repairable that you can set up another day. Great Auto Shop.

Saved us in a pinch! We needed immediate repair because we are from out of state and needed to get back to Memphis to catch our flight home and it wouldn't have been possible if they didn't call us back. They were literally the only folks able to help us. Very grateful for them

I showed up with my passat on a wrecker with one of my calipers bound up. Hector and company were really friendly and quickly took a look at my brakes. Came back with a quote, took me to the ATM to pull cash, and started work on it right away. 4 hours later and I was able to drive my car. I am putting 4 stars because one of my pads was dragging a little after I got on the road. After about 2 miles it let go and I was able to drive all the way back to Mississippi. No issues since. Thanks so much again!

Oscar is a really solid guy. I bought a salvage VW Jetta recently, not knowing what I was getting in to 100%. Oscar was honest in letting me know what needed to be done to make it operate safely while saving money on components that were not necessary right now. I will definitely bring my Jetta back to him.
