I will never ever go here again or let anyone I know put any money in this guys wallet. The owner Alex, is a bully and will force things on you that you don t want. Someone hit my car and I needed repairs. I called this place in my neighborhood, never been here but I always try to support someone local. I dropped my car off on a Tuesday morning at 8:30 for an estimate to be done by the insurance company and the body shop. (The person at faults insurance company has it set up this way for estimates, and repairs). I talked with Alex the owner and told him I was only doing the estimate today not any repairs as I was leaving town for the Holidays the very next day and couldn t leave my car at the shop for the Holiday break, but that I would come back after the break and get my repairs done then- this was strictly an estimate with the insurance company set up that day. Alex understood fully and comprehended the conversation. There was no one else in the office but he and I. I got a call from the insurance company a few hours later after being dropped off, that the estimate was done. I called Alex to let him know I was coming to pick up my car, and he tells me my car won t be ready for 2-3 days, that he ordered the new bumper and parts to fix it and they have started work on it. (The bumper needs to be painted, it takes 24 hours to dry with primer before they paint it.) I don t have time for this I am leaving town the next day and he knew this. He took the check from the insurance company and convinced them I had authorized the work with him, I did call the insurance company too, as they should have had my approval. I trusted this man s word when he gave it to me that he was only doing the estimate. I drove straight to this shop to get my car back as I need to leave town the next day! Alex was a bully and angry that I didn t want to get the work done. He was trying to force me to accept the mistake. As a woman alone with a larger man in his office things got heated and uncomfortable fast. He then mistook my intelligence and tried to explain to me its myself fault, because I do not understand what an estimate is. He was yelling at me What do you think an estimate is lady? You re the one who dropped your car off at the mechanic, what did you think was going to happen? You dropped it off and I worked on it he says, that s how it works . I had to combat his lies with explaining that I well understand what an estimate is, and it s not a work order. He became rude and offensive and said some things I won t repeat. He physically was trying to push me out his door as I was still trying to figure out how to get the money back from him as he received it from the insurance company that day. He knew what he was doing 1000%- he just thought I was dumb enough to fall for his lies- he took advantage of the situation and was trying to keep the $950 from the insurance company. He could have care less that he and I had a mutual understanding before the estimate- he took advantage and stepped over me to get the $950 check from the insurance company. The only 2 other people I saw throughout my time there both were rich old white women with tattooed eyebrows, and empty checkbooks for him, this is his cliental, he can take advantage of them easily. But not this chick here.

They do very good and quick work, helped me navigate what was becoming a complicated insurance situation over the phone, and were very communicative throughout the process. Which is why I was surprised that at the end of it all their careless communication over the phone about payment (which unnecessarily cost me money), was handled with such indifference. Instead of being genuinely apologetic at telling me the wrong information, he chose to deflect and then trivialize the situation. What's no big deal for you can be catastrophic for someone else. Mistakes happen, and owning them goes a long way to mitigating harm.

Unfortunately for my car, I ve had to use A. Vargas body shop 3 times over the past few years. This place earned my loyalty on the first experience and I haven t even thought about going anywhere else since. The estimate is always accurate and reasonable. The work is done quick and they re great about communicating with the customer. Alex works with the insurance company and advocates for his clients. The work they do is unparalleled. My car looks brand new whenever I leave the shop. He pays attention to the small details and doesn t miss a thing. I would highly recommend this body shop.

A few weeks ago, someone hit my car while it was parked outside of my house, leaving behind a sizeable dent over the driver's side wheel. While the headlight was unaffected, the rubber shielding had been pushed down and rubbed against the tire with every bump and dip in the road. I have an important trip coming up, and was terrified that of popping a tire on I10.The guys at A Vargas had me come in right away to take a look at it. Alex pulled the fender back into shape with his hands, pushed the rubber shielding back into place, and then went over everything with me so that I could see for myself that the damage was superficial and the wheel undamaged. He was honest about what would have to be done to fix the cosmetic damage, but assured me it was road safe. When I asked him what I owed him, he said "Nothing, just an honest review".A Vargas has earned itself a new customer.Service: Body & Trim

These guys are awesome! My daughter's car was side-swiped and Vargas did the repairs. We had to just sign over a check to them as we left town to return to NC and the owner was honest, efficient and did a fantastic job on the repair. Great experience. I was able to bring my car in just a few days after my free estimate was completed. The repairs were finished within two days and my front bumper looks brand new.

They are the absolute best body shop around. They are kind, they do good work, and they have reasonable prices. Seems like everyone already knows about this place, though, as they are always so busy.

Great experience with this shop. Insurance covered $5650 of repairs to my vehicle after an accident. These guys did a great job thoroughly inspecting it and finding multiple hard-to-find damages. Professional the entire time and helped interface with the insurance company. Owner of shop stayed after close when I was running late from work to pick up vehicle.

Vargas body shop has the feel of a family business. Mr. Alex was friendly and knowledgeable. He replaced my tail light, and charged me a reasonable price for the work. It is worth supporting this honest family business.

Vargas body shop is a class act. My family has had the fortune of receiving quality and time efficient work since i was a kid. Recently I had someone open their door into my car and and it ripped a nice mess along the side. Alex had the job done within days and I can't tell that anything had happened. These men are honest and provide work they can be proud of and I recommend this body shop over any other. Thank yall!

This was the second time I have used A Vargas Body Shop, the first was about seven years ago. I got into a car accident, with body damage to the front of my 2006 Acura. After my last experience with collision repair centers, I didn't bother getting additional quotes and drove straight to A Vargas. I only carry liability insurance for this older car so the repairs were not covered. Alex worked with me to use aftermarket parts and came back with a quote lower than I expected. They ran across some issues; they had to straighten the frame, replace an expensive headlight housing with an aftermarket part and even repaired an unrelated scratch on the back fender. They worked into the evening on a Friday and finished in under a week.I dealt with Mr Vargas (senior), seven years ago. And this time with his son Alex. This is a great family business and I highly recommend.

I just had the outer cover part of the bumper on my wife's car fixed here. It was only cosmetic, but it required removal of the entire bumper to re-attach the piece they fixed/repainted. I dropped the car off in the morning and it was done by 4pm. They did a great job and for much less than other body shops. They even gave me some of the color-matched paint they used in case I need it in the future. Very friendly and helpful. They will definitely be my shop of choice next time I need some body work.

We have been clients of Alex Vargas Jr. and his father for many years. They always do a first class job and are efficient and honest. It's rare to visit a business today with no turnover of people who work there. We wish we didn't need them so frequently!! But when we do there's nowhere else we'd go with our cars.

Been meaning to write this review for a few months and have just put it off due to various things.Our car had been retaining water after it rained. We had the windshield looked at, the doors looked at, couldn't find the leak. Our interior was molding and no one else wanted to even bother looking at it, often citing it would be too much work to fix. We knew what we were getting into but we received a more than fair price and a very fast turnaround time.We got our car back within a week and it the interior looked like new, leak had been found and plugged. I cannot recommend them enough.

This is a great family owned company. Alex was extremely helpful, honest, and efficient. He fixed my car for a very reasonable price and was able to get it done in a day! Very positive experience, I highly recommend!!!

The owner, staff, and technicians really do a great job of repairing automobile damage. When my $426,000 Lexus LFA needed repairs I had serious reservations as to who would do it. I learned about Vargas Body Shop through a gentleman who does interior refurbishing at Lexus of New Orleans, and I must say that they did a job second to none.

They did a great job replacing my bumper. The only problem was that I had to wait 5 weeks to get in, they are that popular! They also had the lowest repair estimates.

My go to body shop! Mr. Alex and his team were very professional and efficient! I scraped my car and I put all my trust into this man, he delivered all he said he would and more! He finished my car a day earlier than expected too, so that s also a plus! He s a 5 star in my eyes! Go with Alex! Thank you Mr. Alex to you and your team!

I would give this business six stars. I saw Alex the Friday before Christmas (which was the following Friday. I needed $3000 worth of work on six body panels and I wanted it done well. Alex asked me to drop off at 9:00am on Monday and he even took care of my rental car arrangements right there on the spot so they'd pick me up at the time of the drop off. I fully expected to get my car back after Christmas plus three or four days. Instead, he worked through Christmas Eve and delivered my car that afternoon.I used to own four Porsches and, at one time or another, had body work done on all of them. I know quality work when I see it. The quality of work at A. Vargas is stellar (and often less expensive than competitors). $3000 sounds like a lot of money, but trust me, I got every cent's worth. My car, a sexy Subaru BRZ, looks new, brand new. The paint match is exact and my car was reassembled correctly the first time (sometimes a problem with body shops; running lights, door closures, etc.).Alex is a gentleman and a professional. His quotes are fair and reliable. And I gather that he routinely comes in underbudget for both time and money. I'll never go anywhere else.

I was very impressed with the level of efficiency and professionalism displayed by Alex Vargas! I would recommend them to anyone that's looking for a good body shop. They did an amazing job with my girlfriend's Pontiac G6.

Alex deliberately misled my wife and I when we needed on window tints taken off for inspection purposes. He told us it would be "$40 per side." We paid cash & when we returned, only the front window tints had been removed & when we inquired as to why the back window tint was still there, he was like, "oh sorry, well that will be another $40 to take the back ones off too." Careful about paying cash to this guy when he treats people like this & also when he is charging double the price for tint removal as the tint shop on carrollton.

A friendly, honest, transparent mechanic. Did the work for about 1/3 the cost I was quoted at another shop across town. The work was done earlier than I anticipated and looked better than I thought possible. 10/10 would recommend.

I cannot speak highly enough of this shop. They were courteous & professional on the phone, and when I brought my car in with a "newly installed" scratch down the side, they touched it up on the spot! So impressed!!
