Transmission went out, I called the next day Jamie's is knowable yet his customer service and communication skills are BARBARIC, when he picked up the phone he just went on and I couldn't get a word in edge wise. Can be Extremely argumentative. He made it seem like I purposely damaged my transmission and everything else that he Said that needed service on the car.He called me and said that the car wouldn't pass a diagnostic because of something else that was wrong, so I went on ahead and had that repaired.Wanted to go back despite the way he talked to me the first time, and my trunk not working properly when I picked it up. In the process of callingto have lens put on He went in again to the point where there were people in my car and they were like what the hell. I called said good afternoon and he was like what??? Extremely nasty!!! He said he worked at Honda on the Westbank for years. Yet the way he talks to you is atrocious. If he encountered a man and talked to him the way he talked to me it would end up extremely different. The lady was the only professional.

I had a front drive shaft that needed to be put in on my AWD.Not only did they get me in and get it done quickly. there friendly and fast customer service was a plus making them a five-star experience. Highly recommended.Update: Having to add a new transfer case to my car,I called, and they had someone cancel, and they got me in and out rather quickly considering what they actually had to do. Just a big thank you to everyone over there, see ya"ll soon with some coffee and donuts just to show appreciation.

DON'T GO HERE .....For the most part this place had good reviews so I brought my car there and told them a hand full of things that were wrong with it. They changed the battery and said it was good to go and I said but what about the car blowing white smoke out the tail pipe the minute you turn it on he said it wasn't doing that. I knew he was lying I was drying the car every day it was horrible to drive with the white smoke and shaking it was doing so I got a new battery and a broken car returned to me.

*REVISED REVIEW, based on October 2023 service.I spent $533 to have my just-broken gear shift cable replaced. New owner could/would not ensure his shop's work. When they "moved" my car after "fixing" it, the "fix" came undone (!!!) - as I was en route to pick up my car after getting the late-morning call that it was ready.My shifter went out AGAIN on me, after driving just 6.4 miles. I was a block away from entering the Westbank Expressway to go to work after 5 p.m. I left the car overnight for another repair. A THIRD REPAIR ensued. I was text messaged in all-capital letters the next day, a Friday afternoon, while getting a ride from the market, that I could pick my car up. Jamie was not confident my car was fixed, and told me that if the problem occurred again, he'd have to recommend I go somewhere else. Three days later, on a Monday afternoon, my car would not go into reverse. I was stuck in a busy supermarket parking lot in Metairie!! I am on a schedule - with things to do! As a very last resort, I called West Transmission & Total Auto Repair. Jamie basically says too-bad-so-sad. You don't have a warranty. You self-diagnosed your problem. Well, Jamie: A single E-clip solved my problem two weeks later. It cost me an additional $125 and TWO calls for towing. Your incompetence wasted SO much of my valuable, can't-ever-get-it-back-again time. My car ran poorly for two weeks while I tried getting it in for service elsewhere, where transmission specialists actually KNOW the ins and outs of transmission repair.Also, Maps Readers: I initially had my car towed to West with white newsprint paper protecting my newish floor mats and carpet. After the first pick-up, I pitched a fit when I opened my driver's side door and immediately saw that my paper had been removed - and a greasy mess left all over my mat & carpet. One month later, my carpet still needs a shampoo. Although Jamie did clean the floor mat itself.BAD EXPERIENCE. Sloppy, shoddy work. A hostile undercurrent from this new proprietor. When was the last time a mechanic asked YOU to diagnose YOUR car's problem?? Not EVER, right? Stay away.Mr. West and his crew will take good care of you. West Transmissions offers honest, quality service and a reasonable turnaround.

We were on our way to Florida from Kansas. Intended to only spend Christmas Eve in New Orleans. As soon as we pulled into our hotel, our transmission went out. The service we received was above and beyond anything we have ever received in our home state. Back on the road within 24 hours of the parts coming in. 10/10 would recommend to anyone. My car was that this shop from January 25 till March 8 they told me it was be 14 days to fix my car. They never fixs my car never called to gave me an update and when I called they want to give me the dealership number to called them about a part. That not my job to call about a part thats their job. I'm paying them to fixs my car and they want me to call about a part. Service was very hilarious would never go back.

8 Apr 2021: I just dropped my project truck as it's spraying fluid everywhere. One of my Marines have used them before with nothing but good things to say. I don't have the tools or time to do anything with the transmission at the moment as I'm moving soon. With outstanding courtesy they informed me that they would have an answer for me after lunch of diagnosis and cost estimate. They gave the feeling that I would he well cared for. I have never taken a vehicle into a shop before so I will be updating this as I go through the process. 3 stars so far as I have only begun the process.9 Apr 2021: they called and were so polite about the issue (almost apologetic) about the issue I was having and had news that they found a part for me. They gave me a quote that was thousands less than expected and asked if I wanted them to continue with the job ensuring I was comfortable with the price. I raised it to four stars as they are taking care of my truck in a way that I didn't think mechanics would (much better than expected). The only thing I didn't get was a timeline that it would be completed, however, that was my fault for not asking. Great experience so far.

The staff was friendly and welcoming; however, I spent over $900 to get my AC fixed for it only to give me the same problems after. Jamie was a very nice and outspoken to me he repair my transmission in four days they took two days of them to get the receipt of transmission he got the lowest cost for me other shop want to charge me $3,800 he charged me $3,100 and gave me a 5% discount that that and it was very nice and it did a professional job to everybody thank you JamieService: Transmission replacement

I got radiator repair and an oil change. They did good work at a reasonable price, and they were recommended to me by someone I trust. However, they charge a 3% service fee for a credit card transaction. They claim this is common, but anyone reading this review knows that this is practically unheard of these days.When I went there to pick up the car, I only brought my credit card with me, so I had no other payment option, and because it was an expensive repair, this actually resulted in a hefty upcharge. These days, it is extremely rare for a place to charge a percentage for using a credit card, and when they do, they warn you of it ahead of time. I was in a position where it was the only thing I could do and I had to do it (I had been dropped off to pick up my vehicle and they were closing soon).More importantly, they clearly try to hide this charge when giving you your bill. I noticed that the bill was higher than I was anticipating, and saw the 3% charged to the credit card and asked about it. It was then that I realized that this is what they were doing. Very shady, cheap, and dishonest.Any business that accepts credit card payments has to pay a fee to the credit card company. This is why some places have a $5 minimum or a $10 minimum, etc. it s only worth it to them if you spend a certain amount of money. these places of business generally display that policy prominently (unlike this business).They had many opportunities to warn me of this, like when they quoted me the price over the phone, or told me when to come by and pick up the car. If I had known this was their policy, I would have brought a checkbook or debit card with me. Their charging me the credit card fee is just their way of trying to get out of paying for the privilege of accepting credit card payments.They need to join the 21st century or be upfront about their outdated policy.So, if you plan on having work done by them and paying with a credit card, be prepared.

I'm from out of state, visiting relatives. When we arrived our transmission went out. Not knowing any reputable service places and after reading reviews, I called Mr. West. He was extremely helpful and said we could get it repaired and back the next day. He was true to his word. The price appears to be in line with other shops. I have only driven a few miles but will update with any problems. I don't really expect any. Mr. West seems to be a fair and honest man, and I appreciate what he did for us. Thank you again, Mr. West. It was good doing business with you.

I love this place. The customer service is top notch. My car stopped me at Walgreen's drive through and my battery was just 4%. Called them and they sent a tow truck immediately(Free towing) This was few minutes to close of their work. The next day in the afternoon my car was ready & running.

This man can not be trusted (Jamie). Brought a vehicle to replace rack & pinion steering which was verified by him as needing to be replaced along with other work he said needed to be done. The price was agreed and authorization given to proceed. After the car was picked up it had the same problem . After speaking with Jamie he said the rack and pinion didn't need changing but if we wanted to bring it back it would be 1600.00 in additional cost which was more than the original quote for the repair. So, for a cost of 1200.00 we got to park our car at his shop for two weeks and I am not sure that any work was done on the car at all because the problem was not fixed. I went there September 27 to get my car checked turned out i was having transmission failure with my 2007 Chevy impala lt. the service was great the man made you feel very taken cared of and very friendly. I came today at around 4:40 to 5:00 on October 6 to pick up my baby and as I was half way home I noticed it was getting harder and harder to turn well no biggie I ll just and more power steering I thought. Long story short my power steering is now messed up and is leaking every were I m not satisfied at all over all bad experience and I feel bamboozled out of 3 grand will update soonServices: Transmission, General repairs & maintenance

I was in town on vacation and ran into issues with our van. I looked online and saw that West Transmissions was near our hotel. I arrived a little before they opened and they let me in and I told them the situation I was in with needing to be on the road later in the day. Dan and his guys helped me out with getting our Van fixed very fast. They were kind and took me back to the hotel while they did the work and then picked me back up at the hotel after the works was completed. I appreciated the work that Dan and his team did to get our Van safe and ready for our drive back to Omaha.

I was given a 2008 frontier.Needless to say the motor was shot. I had heard all the negative things about putting a re-manufactered motor in. How I was wasting my money and how I was asking for trouble.I was referred to WEST by our mechanic at spee-dee oil change. So I took a chance. All the mechanics were ase certified.When we got it back it ran great it was quite. I was well satisfied with the motor. We had one problem with a sensor. We bought it in and has ran great ever since.WEST TRANSMISSION AND SERVICES is a honest shop run by great nice folks. I would use them again.

I had to replace a transmission shift solenoid on my 2002 dodge caravan. They treated me and my vehicle as it was a new car of the lot. Great communication and getting the job done. I had a cv axle changed out here. I took it to 2 shops in Texas and they were unable to find the right parts for my BMW. Dan and his team were great. Professional service, quick and even gave me a free drop off service. I'd recommend them and will take my car back if anything happens. Thanks guys!

We trust him but this time he lies to us . My car was 21 years old , he keep saying my car is expensive many times. I have the leak in steering wheel, after I dropped the car 4 hours he call me he finish to change the new pipe, I paid $500 but after 3 days same problem happened again, I have to buy the oil and the sale man from Autozone help me to fill, the leak is still there. I bring the car back , he said someone damage my car ..,even only me driving my car . He want I pay $250 more to fix the leak He use my trust to took $ 500 for nothing this time

Excellent service! You guys did a great job in a timely manner! Saved me well over a thousand dollars compared to what the dealer was recommending! Hope I don't need major repairs again, but if I do there's only one choice for me!
