!!Updated!! Received a very respectful, polite and informative call from the regional manager. I give them additional rating stars for a swift response. He had his tech fix the blower with the primary bulb part I originally needed and a simple clean of the carburetor jet. He also wanted to inform me "they can't guarantee how long it would last"... which is perfectly fine and reasonable! I don't expect them to warranty something that's seen a good life and no other parts been replaced or serviced by them. They said that they want their clients to be very satisfied, and if I left there with subpar or partial service it would look bad on them. They take a holistic approach to repairs. I fully agree with that approach, and where we differ was that I would like to know an "approximations" at the time of dropping it off. Even if it's a range ballpark, so I could have been more informed to probably purchase a new piece of equipment at that time. Especially if i knew the potential cost. It was also disclosed that the service clerk and the parts person I spoke to happened to be relatively new employees for only a couple of weeks. In a post covid world getting employees is hard, so no foul there. They did not make this an excuse and rather took this as an opportunity to improve their operation and customer experience. That is how you do business. I got a fix I needed today and know where I will purchase my next blower.Thank you!!Original review - Nice retail store for John Deer. This business is also listed as the service center for Stihl equipment. I have a blower that's been a great piece of equipment for a number of years. It worked flawlessly up prior to me needing to use it this spring. However the priming fuel pump bulb dried up and needed to be replaced ($4 part). I thought since its going to get a new bulb why not asked Sunshine Equipment of Covington to look at doing a tune-up too. When you walk in, the first two manned desks has make shift paper signs telling you to keep going to end of the counter...for service. They were busy typing with no clients. When you reach end of the counter, you would meet a service desk person. After inquiring about what it takes to service, they require you to drop it off for now, they charge a $41 fee for the future "inspection", at which time they will call you later and tell you how much it will cost to service.. I asked can you please give me a rough range of cost? They said NOPE. I then walked to a rack of new equipment to price a new blower which was 199.00 - 250.00 for same model and depending on features. I asked again, what type of cost range to service, because a new one cost up to $250 and I don't want to wait to be told it cost more than a new one... I said, "I'm sure you have serviced this model 100's of time..." They said they can't tell me any #'s but they have plenty of work...and will let me know once the tech looks at it. A week later, I get a call to inform me that the unit will need a new carburetor (which includes the bulb), also flushing of fuel line. Now with the "inspection" fee I already paid credited back on the invoice it would STILL cost me $290+!!! Just as I thought would happen. The whole thing took a week to determine I should just buy a new blower! They price the service and part so high to force you to buy a new one. I rate them low as a service center, because they could have been real friendly and said sir, "just a carburetor alone will often cost $200 bucks", and save me the 45min trip and fee. I likely would have just bought a new one. Would have saved me time and money. But now I have to do another 45min trip to just pick up the broken blower..

Bill is a great salesman that definitely takes care of the customers needs . Nice clean facilities and friendly staff. Will be purchasing other products here in the future. Now waiting for it to dry up to run this new zero turn. Thanks again

I brought my riding John Deere mower in because it was out of balance and had a transmission issue (transmission covered under warranty since it's only 20 Hours on the mower). Everything seemed great at first but once I got it home I started it up and it died after mowing one strip of the yard. Had no power at all. I opened the cover and noticed that the batteries negative terminal had an obvious incorrect screw in it and way too loose and was barley attached. I'm guessing this caused the fuse to pop because that's what happened. I went to the hardware store got a fuse and the correct size bolt and everything was fine. I called the service department to let them know that someone had put the obviously wrong screw in the neg. battery terminal just so they were aware and it didn't happen in the future and John who does service there told me they never touched the battery and said I had likely done it or that it came that way from the store. I got mower shipped from online big box store and opened the crate myself and inspected it when I received it. I told him I inspected it when I got it to which he told me I would not have noticed it. I said "look I'm not trying to get a discount or money back I just wanted to let you know that it happened so it doesn't again. He then kept going on about how I must have done it or it was always that way. Never mind that the mower would not work long term in the condition it was in. I had planned on still using them for my service but no longer, I will never go to this place again. Instead of just saying "ok, thanks for the heads up" or something along those lines they accuse me of doing it. Never again will I go to this store and I don't recommend anyone else does either.

Great service department very friendly very attentive I bought a brand new Stihl chainsaw after the hurricane and was having trouble getting it started I brought it to them to troubleshoot and they were extremely helpful they showed me the proper way to start it and told me about the difficulties in flooding the Stihl chainsaws. The service manager brought the saw back to the service department to check pull the spark plug and saw that the saw was in fact flooded he blew it with compressed air to remove the remaining remnants of gasoline then put it together and promptly started it on the second pull. I can't say how much I appreciate it their help even though I didn't buy the chainsaw from them they still took the time to show me how to properly start it

I didn't buy my tractor here but I wish I had. The whole store crew is friendly and helpful. And they fix their own mistakes (which may have equally been mine). Last year they sold me a home maintenance kit for my x320. It came with the wrong filter. I wasn't able to get back to the store for nearly a year, but when I did, they simply exchanged it for the right kit.I also had another pleasantly surprising experience: Amazon is not always the cheapest price for replacement parts. I've bought two deck wheels here since learning that their price is $2 ($11 vs $9) cheaper. I like to buy local; I especially like it when I save money. Sometimes buying local means spending more so I will continue to give them my business.

Bill is a great guy to do business with and there service department went above and beyond for me on my tractors tiller implement. The gear box broke on it and instead of just fixing the part they gave me a whole new one!! That is what I call great customer service!! I m a business owner myself so I know what it means to do something like that. I will be recommending them to everyone I know who is looking for equipment!!

You can't make any sales if you ignore potential customers. I was looking for tires to fit my d170 and I had a few attachments I wanted for the mower especially since the storm. I used their chat box multiple times,emailed them twice tried calling them. I got messages saying some will be in touch with me. Nothing. That was 8 hours ago. Sad part is I live just down the street and it would have been nice using and buying equipment from there so close. I'm not trying anymore. Jumping through hoops to try to purchase something doesn't make much sense.

From the moment I called the service section, it felt like they didn t want to be bothered. I live about 60 miles away so I gave my self two hours to get to the location. About 30 mins into the trip, my GPS switched my arrival time from arriving at 4 pm to 450; I immediately called the location to give them a heads up that I may arrive right at 5 PM. I was told If I don t make it here by five, they will lock the gate, and will I have to come back tomorrow. I understand closing time is closing time. But an unexpected accident could/should have warranted some sought of consideration. I arrived @ 445ish after walking around the lot for a minute or so the service tech came out and told me to bring the mower over there, pointed to a few mowers in a lot, asked me my name and number. Wrote it down and kinda rushed me out. I waited two business day and gave the location a call to check up as the current transaction felt off so far. They told me they would call when they had a chance to check on it, On Business day six today, I called the place and told them don't worry about my mower; I'm on the way to pick it up. About twenty minutes later they called and told me I need a spindle replaced and service performed and than told me it would be a 50 dollar diagnosis fee. I already knew I needed 3 spindles replaced as that's what I dropped it off for. And I changed the oil, oil filter, air filter, and spark plug week before dropping it off so I know it didn't need service . When the service called and told me this I asked when did someone actually look at the machine? His reply was, I don't know, maybe last week; he couldn't answer why I wasn't called and notified of their Diagnostics. After all of this, I'm irritated to say the least I talk to the counter to pay and the guy asked why I didn't want them fix it. I said I did but felt like they didn't want to so I explained all of this and he was like ok 53 dollars not sorry or any explanation of said experience so far. Top all off this off while I'm strappng the mower down the service tech who could clearly see I am midway through last racchet strap yells as me to you'll my truck forward so he can around with a forklift. Probably worst customer service/business experience of my life. It took a lot for me to remain calm but I did. I'll never use this place for anything again, and now more than likely never Purchase a John Deere product ever again. Feel like that 50 dollar fee was a sham as well but didn't fell like argueing with the people.

I dropped off my LA135 after I poured in some stale gas from the winter. They had it fixed in less than a week and didn t try to sell me anything I didn t need. The whole staff is incredibly friendly and professional and Mr. Terry the store manager is extraordinarily helpful. Top notch store.

Not happy!!! The service department has a diagnostic fee of about $50.00 bucks. After I approved the repair based on the quote John gave me I came to find that the diagnostic fee was also added to my bill along with labor and parts. All the other places I deal with waive the diagnostic fee if they get the work! Also as a result of machine not starting I had run the battery down this time and my last visit about 4 months ago. Both times I told them the batter needed a charge, and both times I was told I needed a new battery. Battery is still good!!!I ll find another service facility to service my equipment.

I can t say enough about the staff at Sunshine Quality Solutions - John Deere in Covington, LA. I recently made a sizable equipment investment. My salesman, Bryan was very patient during the process due to my circumstances. I have not encountered another business with an impressive sales, delivery, and support staff as this one. This is a perfect example of customer service. My future purchases will be made at this location. Simply the best!

-Riding Mower -Fuel Issue -Warranty -High BillBrought in riding mower under warranty for service, told them up front it was a fuel issue. They had it for a week and charged me $51 to tell me it was a fuel issue. On diagnostic report, general explanation of fuel system problem worded like they had already done the service.Told me AFTER charging me that taking off the carb myself won't void the warranty. They offered to change the fuel components for $580 to fix the issue. They did have a carb in stock for $218, available on amazon for $40. I brought it home, pulled the carb, sprayed it out, had it running perfect in an hour spending zero dollars. Save your time and money unless its a warranty, even still you may be better off fixing it yourself because of the time you won't have the machine.It took them a week to tell me what I told them when I dropped it off, and then charged me for it!

Great customer service. Will recommend to all my neighbors with Stihl products. They diagnosed the problem and fixed it super fast at a very reasonable price. Will be going back for all my lawn equipment needs. Thanks again.

I visited this location for a/c problem with my tractor. John Bourg and staff took the extra time to trouble shoot and repair my problem. I appreciate the way it was done. I will definitely recommend this location for any repairs.
