Outstanding Service! I was thoroughly impressed by the level of care and expertise shown by the mechanic. Not only did they expertly address the issue with my vehicle, but their willingness to explain the process and ensure everything was functioning correctly was above and beyond. My husband and I have been going here for several years! Mr. Mark goes above & beyond to help get you back on the road safely!! He s extremely knowledgeable, & honest! He won t let you replace parts that aren t needed.. my husband had thought he needed to replace his clutch but Mr. Mark said no, I can just adjust it for you and you can save some money.. there s been many instances that he s saved us a lot of money! The area is sketchy but he s helps the community around there.. I ve seen him give money out of his own pocket to a guy off the street.. he has replaced numerous parts, some I ve bought online I won t trust my vehicles with anyone else..

I caught a flat and the only used tire they had, had a plug in it. Now the only reason why I paid for it was because they really worked long on it and said it would be fine. About an hour later it went flat. Kept trying to call but never got an answer. I had to go back to New Orleans but thankfully I found someone to put the spare on. I still feel like they could have called to at least offer me something back.

Amazing place. Had a price quote for me immediately after diagnosis. Called me back to the shop so I can see with my own 2 eyes what the underlying issue was with the vehicle. Did the job all in 1 day. I would say a great price for what they had to do. old van runs like a champ now. This guy is a cheater. Make sure you talk about cost of every thing before letting him work on your car. He charged me 3 times for a window motor. He was arguing with another customer also who was complaining about his pricing.Today, I had really bad experience at this shop. My rear window was not going up. So I visited this shop. The shop owner told me it gonna be 100 bucks for our service plus cost for the motor.He took an hour and half to fix it. My window was working perfectly fine. But he charged me 225 dollars. The motor was 39 dollars worth at every auto part shops. But he charged me 112 dollars for it, 3 times its original part. I showed him the price on internet. But he said thats the price on internet. It cost difference at my shop.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Took my husbands truck here to get work done. The guy remembered our truck and already had the parts ready to put on the truck. Everything was done in a timely manner, and prices were reasonable. Will go back again.

Great service for me, I have gone to them for the last 3 years. Clear communication, they always have given me the best option repairing my car and all of their repairs have worked until now. I don't have to return with any issues pertaining any of their repairs.

Honest. Affordable. I had problems with the belt on my Jeep I called around and this place was the best price for what I needed done. It was ready sooner than expected and was reasonably priced. I called in advance for them to do an oil change on my car because apparently several chain shops that I went to earlier in the morning, like Goodyear will not work on older vehicles let alone change the oil. They said they would be able to do an oil change until I got there and they heard a slight noise that my car was making. Instead of attempting to diagnose it or recommend that they do some additional work on it other than what I originally was going there for, they straight up refused to help me and set me away. If you re a mechanic shop then you should be prepared for anything, and actually help people that are recommended to you instead of sending the money wild goose chase across town. I m surprised that they ve survived this long as a business.

With a daughter at LSU and our being in GA, Mark was extremely polite and honest! Taking car of our daughters car and keeping us up to date with phone calls. Mark and his staff are amazing!!! HIGHLY recommend!

I have had several experience with this business. Each one has not been pleasant. The owner always seem rushed in encounters with me. Interactions are as if I am a nuisance as opposed to conducting business In a professional manner. The owner appears to always display a negative attitude. In our recent conversation, I learned that service on engines is not being conducted at this facility. Also, neither are foreign vehicles. Mark, owner, is a friend of my dad, but I have not known him on a real personal basis. This may be the reason underlining cause of such experiences.

Mark and the other workers were very friendly and courteous in explaining to me what was wrong with my car and how to fix it. The services they provided were at an extremely reasonable rate, and the services performed were done quickly and professionally. I will recommend anyone I know to use this shop for their automotive care needs, as they will fix you up and send you on your way perfectly. This may be the best car repair shop in Baton Rouge. Definitely a hidden gem!

I've taken my car there to have a complete tune up, and Mark and his staff completed it within 7 hours. Not only did he do that, he also called to tell my that my axle was badly damaged, and he replaced that with my permission, for a very reasonable cost. A year or so later, my alternator went out, and he replaced it for a very reasonable price. Not only did he do that, when my aunt didn't answer her phone that day to pay for the repair since she and Mark made a payment arrangement, he allowed me to take my car for the amount I had on me in cash and have her pay the rest the next day. And when I thought the alternator was faulty, I went back and he and his staff inspected and tested it for free, and told me that my battery was shot since my alternator went out. I recommend anyone to see Mark and his team! Definitely a great business with honest practices.

DO NOT GO HERE EVER!!!!!!!!!! I had my car towed after I notice it making this really loud noise and the ABS, BRAKE and Steering warning lights came on. They called saying my alternator and water pump needed to be fixed and it would cost over $500. Since I was referred there and they had nice reviews I took a chance. BIG MISTAKE!!!!!!!!! I went to pick up my car and ALL the warning light were still on and now the check engine light was also on. They excuse was I only told them about the water pump. Which is a lie, since I did not even know the water pump was the issue. I asked why are the lights were and why was they check engine light now on and now the speedometer does not work. According to him those problems weren't what I asked him to fix and the check engine light is on is a new problem. According to Mark himself they don't do extra. Which is all BS, considering I asked him to fix my car in general. He then explained how he does not drive or check the cars to check things or all working. Which is also a lie considering he had to drive the car across the street to park, at which point he would have seen all the lights were still on. This man is ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!!!! How as a mechanic you would allow a car back on the road with 4 warning lights on not inform the driver of a issue you failed to fix is WRONG!!!!!!!!!! I paid $500 to have them only fix have the problem!!!!!!!!! Do not trust him!!!!! Save yourself the trouble. How he has lasted this long is beyond me.

The mechanic(s) here is/are not honest. I brought my car in and was told I needed a new transmission. This didn't make sense since I put a new transmission in my car not too long ago and I didn't have any problems with changing gears or anything of that matter. I went to another mechanic and found out that my car had a simple vacuum leak that cost me $60. The hose that runs to the intake was not there! If you're a girl or a single mom this place will try to scam you out of your money! Stay away from this place!!

Do not be put off by the rustic appearance of this small garage. The service is excellent, fast, and fairly priced. I had my 20-yr-old minivan's leaky radiator replaced in a few hours with no appointment a month ago and it has been running perfectly since. They even topped off all the fluids at no charge. Highly recommended! If you need somewhere to wait during the servicing, I suggest walking a couple blocks toward campus and hanging out at Highland Coffee or Chimes or one of the other nearby establishments.

University Car Care went above and beyond in repairing/servicing my Truck. My Truck was making a grinding noise that caused some safety concerns.Not only did Mark test drive it, but he quickly determined that my hub assemblies were the root cause of the problem along with the rotors, brakes and CV axle.Mark was very honest, had the lowest prices in town and his mechanics efficiently repaired everything the same day.If you re looking for an honest mechanic; you can count on University Car Care for your needs. The men that work here are great and really go above and beyond to help you. I thought my alternator and battery were messed up but they found the actual problem and saved me and my mom alot of money. Also thought my battery had died and they came and gave me a jump and identified that the battery was just loose. Everyone is so kind and i would highly recommend them fr and its rare that I do reviews unless I have an amazing experience or a bad one and this time my experiences have been amazingService: Battery

I just wanted to once again pass on another positive post about University Car Care s outstanding Quality Service repairing my 2007 Avalanche.Mark and his team properly diagnosed/solved my Stabilitrak/ABS traction warning message issue which have plagued many Chevy dealerships and online Chevy Forums. They diagnosed, ordered all the parts, replaced the sensors, Spark plugs/wires in less than 5 hours.Again, if anyone is looking for a fast, reliable, trustworthy - salt of the earth mechanic; you can always count on University Car Care!Service: General repairs & maintenance

I've been bringing my cars to Mark for years. He's an honest mechanic and he does good work. I laughed just now reading a couple of the negative reviews people posted on here because not only has he saved me thousands upon of thousands of dollars over the years but my last two trucks have both made it over 400,000 miles, largely because of him.

I have been going to these guys for seven years. Mark and his team are honest, dependable, and amazingly well priced. I am a novice mechanic myself, but it is almost always easier and negligibly cheaper to have these guys work on it. I have never been ripped off, scammed or hassled. I will continue to recommend these guys to everyone.

My daughter attends college in Baton Rouge and since I wasn't familiar with the local mechanics, I had her take her car to the dealer for maintenance. During my last visit, I stumbled across University Car Care just to have the tire pressure checked. My daughter's brake pads needed replacing, so I took a chance! Mike & Shak were very informative & knowledgeable; not to mention the price was right and the service was completed in a very timely manner. I feel comfortable knowing my daughter's automotive care is in good hands!

UCCC was recommended to me by a friend and I have since been here several times. It is now the ONLY place I will take my Mercedes. For the same service I checked three different places but UCCC was by far the most reasonably priced. The staff is always accommodating and friendly; service is quick. I highly recommend this place!!

Tried to steal my battery during service and replace it with a worse one. Whole place is a scam and would recommend anyone to go somewhere else.

Don't do it! Stay away! 2 bad unrelated incidents is more than enough for me.. I took my wife's car here for them to repair the heater core. Upon picking up her car I turned on the a/c and noticed that the driver's side blew cold air while the passenger's side was stuck on heat. I hadnt even left the parking lot when i informed him of the issue. Mark (the owner) immediately denied any and all responsibility and said that it must have been like that when we brought the car to him.. 2nd incident - A month later my dad took his pick up there for a leaking powersteering pump repair. Fine about $200.. A week later my dad's powersteering pump was leaking again. After taking it back, Mark (the owner) told my dad that his "case"? was leaking now and it would be about another $200.. My dad took his truck to another mechanic that informed him that it was his powersteering pump. Since Mark again refused to warranty his work - my dad had to shell out extra cash for the job to be done correctly.

Same day service. Professional and not overcharged, fixed my coolant leak quickly despite having several cars waiting to be repaired. Definitely will use again in future car maintenance needs
