The Morris Brothers trans mission shop is the BEST! They are very honest and that means everything when you need transmission work. Highly recommend this shop.

Morris Transmission was recommended by another reputable repair shop in the city (Gordon Sandifer) without hesitation. I understand why and I would use and or recommend Morris Transmission again. The owner, Morris answered all questions that I had and answered all phone calls, quality, qualified business.

Short story: He lead me to believe he was replacing a bad part when in actuality he had his son take the part out, fondle it, and re-install it. He also overcharged me for labor by an outrageous amount.Long story: I went into Mr. Lamana's shop because my car was breaking down, and my boyfriend recommended I have Morris look at it (since I thought it might be a transmission problem). I sat down with Morris and explained to him the issues with my car, and also emphasized that I couldn't afford to spend a lot of money. He reassured me that he would take care of me.I called him to find out what the damage was and he told me, "Your EGR valve is BAD but we can have you fixed up for about $270." He said that was the cost to do a diagnostic and fix the problem. I needed my car to be fixed A-SAP because I couldn't miss another day of work, so I agreed. Afterall, he is known for his honesty and my boyfriend recommended him.I thought I asked all the right questions. I briefly looked over the receipt to make sure the EGR valve was listed on there, and I asked him and his son if any other problems showed up on the diagnostic. They both confirmed that the EGR valve was the only issue. It was a relief to have my car fixed. But, a week later Morris called me to ask about my aunt (who he seemed strangely interested in) and also told me, "If you ever need your valve cleaned again, we'll do it for free." I thought, that's awfully nice, but I didn't get my valve cleaned. I figured he didn't mean to say "again" and blew it off...UNTIL 2 months later when my car suddenly developed the same issue with sputtering and breaking down.I called Morris and asked him why my -new- EGR valve was doing the same thing. He said, "We didn't replace it. We cleaned it and replaced the valve gaskets." At this point I was caught off guard and bordering on LIVID. Who cleans a "BAD" (Mr. Lamana's own words) part, charges almost $300, only to buy the customer two months of drive time. I told him I thought I was spending $300 to replace the part. He says, "Well, no ma'am. That part would have cost you $300 alone."So, I went back to have my "complimentary valve cleaning," and he told me, "you might be good now, probably won't have anymore problems" in, I guess, a pathetic attempt to reassure me that I didn't get screwed over.I'm brighter than you think, Mr. Lamana. I know the valve gaskets that your son apparently slaved over only cost $2.00 at Autozone. I also know that several other auto repair shops on Choctaw would have only charged me $60 in labor to REPLACE the EGR valve and ACTUALLY FIX THE PROBLEM! OH, AND the EGR valve does not cost anywhere near $300. It cost me only $68 at Autozone.I payed you $270 to essentially run a diagnostic, talk a whole-freaking-LOT, and tinker with a part in my car. You fixed nothing, and if you know anything about cars (I'm told by other shops that you do), you knew the problem wasn't going to be resolved until the part was replaced. After purchasing the part myself and having another one of your auto repair buddies on Choctaw ACTUALLY FIX the issue, I ended up spending another $130 dollars. It's amazing that you find it morally and ethically okay to charge me 5x the labor only to waste an entire day of my life. Thanks for nothing. You no longer have my business, my boyfriend's, or my aunt's.*shaking my head* --Honest, my butt!People, there are plenty of good, HONEST shops on Choctaw. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!

Excellent auto mechanic work at very reasonable prices. Very honest business. I have been using their services for years. They specialize in transmission work, but they do it all.
