My family and I were traveling through Richmond on our way to Tennessee when our check engine light came on. Meineke was going to charge us 3x as much. Majors and Minors fit us in that afternoon and saved the day! They were extremely friendly and helpful. Beyond grateful!!

Twice they told me I needed a new motor and twice they was wrong almost cost me thousands I don t have please if you want to save money don t trust major and minor Mat is not a good mechanic. Try Accel on north keenland had great experience there.

My wife took her car to this place to get a new carbon canister put on her car. The people were super nice and immediately had our car on the lift. (We had an appointment.) They get paid by the hour, and they had our car finished in about 20 minutes. Amazing . We are now raving fans of Majors and Minors Automotive Services. Excellent in everyway. Super pro!

I went for an estimate for heat/a/c not blowing and I knew what it would need to be fixed but I wanted to see what they would charge me to do it. The estimate turned out to be at least double what two other places in town had quoted. They included things that did not need to be repaired. One example, my struts and shocks. I just had all of that repaired 4nweeks before at a reputable honest garage here in town. They also tried to tell me my back brakes and rotors need replaced but, I had those replaced just over a year ago. I asked if it wasn't a little soon to have to replace those brakes considering I had just done that a year ago. No one seemed to know what to say. One person did say that yes its time after one year! I say all of this to say,I will never go to Majors Minors for anything and i most definitely would never refer anyone to them! Save your money!

Just before Memorial Day Weekend (late Thursday afternoon 5/26/2022) my 2014 Tahoe developed an engine problem while towing a boat up I-75 headed for Northern KY. I exited into Richmond and started the uncomfortable process of seeking a good auto repair shop, on short notice, in unfamiliar surroundings. On the advice of an AutoZone tech I called Majors and Minors and they took me right in despite being busy already and near closing time. The bad news was the diagnosis of a required costly valve lifter job. The good news was each of the guys I talked with, John at the counter, Matt the mechanic and Rick Thomas, the owner, seemed like straight shootin, standup guys. I decided to trust them and go ahead with the repair. Its been 6 weeks now and the Tahoe is running great. I feel like I got great, honest and timely service at a fair price when I was really over-a-barrel and in need while on the road.Service: Engine repair

My family and I have had all of our vehicles worked on at Majors & Minors and had good results at a fair price until today. I had them replace the exhaust on my truck and I wish I hadn't. I had to furnish the mufflers witch was fine, I got what I wanted. But they reduced them down from 2.5" too 2". The mig welds are just blobbed on with welding wire hanging off every where and charged me $584.00 for a sloppy job. I will not use them again for anything. I that helped pay for that new building.

Great Work, Fair Pricing, and Will Take Care of Your Student or You.Hello. My name is Mike and I am not usually one who writes a lot of reviews. However, after the way that Rick (the Owner) and Jonathan (the Manager) of Majors and Minors Automotive Repair worked with my son (an EKU Student) to fix his car, I just had to give Credit Where Credit Is Due. First, these guys appropriately diagnosed the actual problem that was wrong with my son s car when 3 other local shops could not determine what the real problem was. Second, they initially quoted my son a fair rate to get his car repaired, but when it actually cost them less to repair the car, they charged my son a lower price than what was originally quoted (Talk About Being Honest!). Third, like most college-aged students, my son doesn t know a lot about cars, and I don t live in Richmond, so I couldn t be there to help him. But, with Rick and Jonathan, it did not matter if I was there or not. They respected and took care of my son, as if they had known him for a long time. So, if you need someone who does Great Work, is Honest, and will take care of You or Your Student, then give Majors and Minors a call and talk to Rick or Jonathan. And, tell them that Mike sent you. Recently had to have new brake pads and rotors for both axles. Shop owner beat two local quotes and did quality work with quality parts for a great price. Very easy to work with and they completed the work that same afternoon. Highly recommended.

Just wanna say that major and minors did amazing work. I am not family or friends. They fixed my car quick. They fixed it when a dealer ship couldn't. I'll say I have a Ford. They was super friendly and did an awesome job. Highly recommend. And Thank youService: TransmissionService: Transmission

These guys did a fantastic job on my old truck! Steering was terrible, wipers didn't work, locks didn't work, brakes and suspension were both worn out and the engine needed a tune-up. They got me in quick and took care of it in about 3 weeks, which for that amount of work is more than reasonable. Price was also very reasonable and I'm very satisfied with the work! Quality service! Highly recommend!

We couldn't have found a better mechanic. Rick Thomas and his crew were AMAZING! Super kind, helpful and skilled. We were stuck on our way to Miami from Toronto when too many things went wrong with our van and we got stuck in Kentucky. They totally saved us and with such kindness and skill. They were honest and saw the urgency and took us right away! Thank you again so much Rick Thomas and crew!! 5+++++++ stars!!!!!

Always pleasant and courteous. Do a great job at competitive prices. They are honest about what has to be done and the timeframe in which the job can be completed. Ive been going there for years and have always been satisfied with the quality of their work.

Had my truck towed to the shop just at closing time. The owner if the shop stayed late and diagnosed my problem and gave me an idea of what was wrong. I am very impressed with their work and will definitely be going back.Service: Engine repairService: Engine repair

It took 4 days for one antifreeze hose to be replaced.. Most of the people who answer the phones are nice and somewhat helpful.

BEWARE!!!!! SCAMMERS!!!!! RIP OFFS!!!!! Find someone else to work on your vehicle please. Do not use these people. They took my vehicle in stating it would be $50 to inspect only. Took them 2 weeks to get to my vehicle. Before they told me what was wrong with it they had already did work on it costing me over $600.00. When I picked up my vehicle they did not fix what was needing to be fixed. Need less to say I was stranded on the interstate for hours. After talking to them they did not even test drive my vehicle to troubleshoot the issue. When I brought this to their attention they gave me several excuses and they wanted more money to fix the initial issue.

Any review on here with more than 1 Star has got to be made by either an employee or family member. Overpriced, misleading, padding the books, poor workmanship. I can t imagine how this place has not been put out of business by a lawsuit. Took them 6 months before they even offered me an estimate, and then they blew that out of the water by more than triple. And still left the car is miserable shape.
