Recently had transmission leak discovered at dealer during routine service. They recommended replacement for 2019 Honda for $8000! 2nd opinion at AAMCO was more realistic and much less. Excellent service and friendly staff. Mike was true professional. Don t waste time at dealer.

I do all of my own work on my cars but when the transmission failed in one, I decided I wanted a long term warranty and not risk putting a used transmission in myself. This all paid off right away as there was an issue and the vehicle stopped working. THe issue was bad parts from the factory and not Aamco's fault but they still stood behind everything. They even offered to pay for my tow back to their shop. The owner communicated with me after hours to take care of it. THey removed the rebuild and put me in a new transmission all in one day! It now drives great!They also diagnosed it for free in the beginning, and are really good at this. I took it to a dealership first, but they wouldn't even take time to diagnose it. I am glad to have some place that I can actually trust to take my cars when repairs come up that I need help with such as this. Thank you Aamco!!! I highly recommend.Kevin

DON T LEAVE YOUR CAR HERE. SCAMMERS..Left my car to be inspected. They took out transmission without me being notified and wanting me to pay them for work I didn t ask for to get my car back. I just wanted my car back in the exact condition, and am now forced to go through the courts. Terrible business.

Rusty has had my truck for now over 6 months trying to figure out of to rebuild a motor. Also he swears that he is a certified mechanic. PLEASE DONT SEND YOUR VEHICLE HERE....... (please don't lie about me not being a customer) Rusty has lied to me personally for months now saying that my truck will be complete next week

I wanted to thank AAMCO of Richmond for assisting me on my Lincoln MKC. I was told by an unnamed dealership that I needed extensive repairs. AAMCO conducted a very thorough inspection of my vehicle and found no issues with my vehicle. Saving me thousands of dollars.!! Highly recommend this place. My daughter goes to school at Eastern and had a car issue and it was un-driveable. We were able to get it towed to AAMCO and they diagnosed and fixed her car all by lunch time, same day! Mike was great and easy to work with over the phone and put my mind at ease knowing they could get the issue resolved without me having to come talk to them. - THANK YOU!!!

Mike Wright and crew went above and beyond in getting us back on the road when our transmission failed going from Michigan to Florida. We lost our transmission leaving Richmond Ky after a nights stay. We didn't know anyone in the area but called Aamco and Mike took charge and arranged everything for us!! The process started at 9AM and we were back on the road by 5 PM with a new transmission!! Fabulous people with great knowledge and a big heart! More than impressive and professional. Thanks again to Mike and his team!

Took in our Dodge 3500 to have the transmission rebuilt. For as busy as the shop was they got it in and had it ready in a couple of days. The transmission shifts better now then when it was new. As you can see from negative reviews this shop will not admit to any issues that they cannot fix. It s never anything they have done always blames other issues or other shops fault. Mike is very rude and unprofessional. Can never get in contact with owner. Transmission they diagnosed as bad and rebuilt have had back to shop several times to sit for a week with no calls on updates status of vehicle. Was told each time to bring back if the issue continues which it did spoke to rusty owner and was told to bring back and I will know what to do to fix issue. After sitting a week with no calls rude manager mike calls and states electrical issue ( sounds familiar from previous review) the same issue has occurred several times and electrical issue never mentioned. This issue was the same issue that was occurring when car was first diagnosed as bad trans which apparently was incorrect. After paying for rebuild now rude mike us telling me to take to Ford dealer for electrical issue. Buyer beware very untrustworthy and unprofessional would not recommend their service at all.. I m sure a response will follow saying they did nothing wrong or another excuse!! Joke!!!! first of all i purchased warranty for 100,000 miles so dont act as if you are doing me a favor second of all a new ecm computer was put in vehicle to try to eliminate the issue and third the 2nd rebuild was done less than a year ago so check your records the first rebuild was done 2 years ago! Never has been a steering or suspension issue? Excuses once again. You told me last time i was in to bring it back and you would know exactly what to try,apparently you did not. I have been very patient throughout the whole process mike tells me to bring car in and drop it off sunday night which i did car sat for one week never moved i drove by daily and i had to call to find out about status. None of these issues you stated in response were never brought up once. Once again excuses on your end. After reading other reviews there is a definite pattern that your shop displays. If you are truly concerned about your customers as you claim you can call me you have my number. i have contacted aamco corporate regarding this issue and they are currently working with me.Service: Transmission

Have to be one of the most friendly people that I've ever met they put a new transmission in my Silverado and they did an unbelievable job I would give it more stars if they would like me I highly recommend using them

Brought in my fianc� s Jetta that was experiencing a really rough idle and hopping around at low rpms, turning on its check engine light. After a scan, we learned that it sent a code for the camshaft position sensor. It took almost a week for AAMCO to make this discovery (for a second time. We ve already been here before trying to fix the issue and they just cleared the codes saying if it happens again, to come back. After that first visit, the car actually ran twice as bad as before. We came to them again for a second time for them to tell us the following): AAMCO told us it just needed a full tune-up, costing just over $1,000 and holding onto a car crucial for work for even longer.They said they wouldn t charge if it didn t fix the issue. We get the car back, they charge us saying the problem has been fixed. On the drive back home, the rouge idle hits again and the check engine light comes back on. When we call to tell them the issue persisted, they told us that it was our fault the car is having issues and refuse to keep their word about the money. When trying to talk to them on the phone, they continuously cut my fianc� off and acted extremely rude. It s now running worse than before. In a world of modern cars, it really sucks that most experiences with mechanics sadly unfold like this. We ll see if they become honest men I guess.*Update*: Car still isn t fixed. They said the spark plugs looked bad, so *technically*, they didn t give us something the car didn t need. $1,000 for some spark plugs that are a few bucks a pop.

I called Chevrolet to get my 2017 Silverado transmission replaced or repaired. Mind you it only has 64k miles. It went out. They said it would be a 5 week wait and cost just over $8000.00. So I called Terrance at Aamco in Richmond. He was very professional, got my truck in right away and it cost half what the dealership wanted. Terrance and his guys are amazing!!! I would recommend them to Everyone!!!!!Service: Transmission

This was the most worst mechanic shop I would never recommend bringing any vehicle here there was body damage to my vehicle and told me to call my insurance while the vehicle was in their possession.. Kentucky retards at the finest ......u people are snakes.

I will never take another vehicle here. We agreed upon 1500 engine removal and replacement, upon completion, I was charged double. And then my 4x4 didn't work because they didn't hook it back up correctly. I had to take it to another mechanic to have it fixed. And now they claim they have no record of my vehicle in Winchester Kentucky.....I have witnesses that know I took it to you!!!! Terrible business!!!!!

Very professional. Polite and helpful. However 4hrs on the road and my car broke down. It was the same issue that my car was there for. What should have been a great day of being able to get my car turned into a nightmare. This shop is in Kentucky and I live in Georgia. I was stranded on the side of the road for 4 days with my little girl. Thankful someone who had seen us there for some days was kind enough to help us get home. So I guess this is a great shop if you live there. Travelers beware.

Best auto shop in Richmond, KY. We were 45 minutes from home when our transmission died. Rusty, the owner, helped us get the car towed despite it being late in the evening. Rusty and his staff have always given amazing service and pricing for the work done. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Today is Wednesday 29th at 630pm. I just got my 2016 Silverado back from aamco around 330pm today. What's the big deal your saying?!?!?! Let me tell you....Monday I took my truck in to have the transmission diagnosed and was called around 3 by Mike saying that my transmisson was going to have to be rebuilt. I gave him the ok. Tuesday around 1 he calls me and tells me everything they found, what they are gonna do about it, what it's going to cost and that my truck should be done Wednesday evening. Wednesday 330 I am picking up my truck. It's now 630 and I'm writing this review after a 2hr drive in my truck. If you want professional service, excellent communication, and on-time work (mind blowing how fast they got it done) I would HIGHLY recommend aamco and talk to Mike for your automotive needs.Service: Transmission

I ve had Rusty/Aamco-Richmond work on Dodge transmission, install springs on Ford Excursion, and have used their expertise for general advice over the last 2-1/2 years.Professional work and good people.I m known as a car guy and get asked for recommendations:I ve recommended 4 different people and I always ask for feedback from each before making another recommendation. All have been very pleased with their experience; 3 were from Lexington while one DROVE FROM COLUMBUS INDIANA to have his dodge RAM transmission rebuilt on my recommendation.

My friends car has been in the shop for more than half the year, yet it s taken so long to fix but Rusty can drive it out gandervanting around town. One bad experience with a current customer, can cost you dozens of potential customers. Definitely wouldn t take my car there, considering we all have jobs and children. I m sure you ll be reimbursing for 50% of the annual taxes, since the car has been in your possession for that long?

I used to live in Richmond and I let this shop work on my vehicles for everything. I since moved to Tennessee and had some major trouble with one of our cars after we moved. I called Aamco in Richmond from Tennessee and the owner had my car towed to his shop from Tennessee to help me out. Then, on top of that, he got all the work done very quickly. I had my vehicle back before any of my local shops in Tennessee told me they could even start on it. I highly recommend Aamco in Richmond. A+++

Mike at Ammco was fabulous!! He was always very attentive and nice to us...we left our daughter's car to have her cvt transmission replaced...the entire process only took a few days and we had her car back and running great! I highly recommend them!!

In 2020 Ammco replaced the transmission in my old truck.Last week (June 2021) an 18 wheeler blew a tire that I could not avoid and it pulled a hose lose from the bottom of my truck. It was a transmission vent hose (I think... I am not mechanical). I drove it to the station and Warren walked out to greet me and see what I needed. I explained what happened and he immediately slide under my truck and fixed the hanging vent hose. I was back on my way in less than 5 minutes.They had a garage full of vehicles and were very busy but Warren took a few minutes to help me. Their approach to taking care of their customers has made a life long supporter to these guys! GO AMMCO Richmond and Thank you Warren!!!Service: Transmission

We bring all of our vehicles to AAMCO. The owner is kind and easy to talk to. We've dealt with a tree, a deer, a sixteen year old driver, and old wiring in an antique car. We wouldn't take it anywhere else! My extended family also brings their cars here before every road trip. Great place, great people.

A Tahoe I had just purchased had some issues with the lifters and the motor not working properly. I took my vehicle to Aamco because I have heard great things about them. Rusty had to deal with the warranty company to get the repairs covered. He took care of everything, kept me posted, and my car ran great after getting it back. I would highly recommend anyone to use Aamco if you would like to deal with honest genuine people who get the job done.

Rusty, is an amazing person who deeply cares about people and the work he puts into his cars. He is genuinely one of the kindest people I ve ever met and anyone who brings their car there can trust him, and his team! Highly recommend Richmond AAMCO. The low rated reviews are fake, and isn t fair to the company. Don t believe everything you read on the internet!
