DEFINITELY DO NOT GO AT NIGHT. There are nocturnal bears. that being said- me and my friends came here a few times for night hikes before we knew and always had a great time (if not eery). the waterfall is beautiful and the hikes have great views of it and more of the valley. in the morning/late night a thick fog tends to hang around as well? absolutely gorgeous! its the washington/oregon of kentucky

Not much parking. Get here early during busier seasons. Nice moderate hike, can be done as a loop. Know that it has a lot of stair climbing. Has a gorgeous waterfall in the end, and a view of Cumberland falls in the middle. The trail is well marked, but you still need to look for the marks on the trees (especially on the loop part). Make sure you have sturdy boots. And beware that it can get muddy after rainy days.

I can t believe this is Kentucky! What a beautiful hike! The views of Cumberland Falls you can catch are, in my opinion, better than from the visitor s center. Got there around 9am on Saturday Oct 2nd and the trail was ours, but on the way back out it was a little crowded the closer we got to the parking area. It was an amazing, fun moderate/easy hike for us and our relatively experienced 12 and 9 year old. We ll probably drive back here from Louisville regularly.

Enough parking here for a few cars. The trail is fairly easy to follow to Eagle Falls, but has many steps and is somewhat strenuous at times. You also get a good view of Cumberland Falls and the river from this trail. Certainly worth checking out.

Wednesday, September 30th, awesome hike and falls. Trail is rough with lots of steps. 17 minutes from the lot to the falls. Fair views of the river and Cumberland Falls.

Great spot for the start of trail 9. It's a moderate trail but definitely worth visiting. This place is very untouched by humans and preserved well too!

Love this hike. It s absolutely gorgeous and a beautiful view of the Cumberland falls as well that is so much less crowded than the other side.

I try to hike this trail twice a year and have been hiking it for 40 years. Have hiked it by moonlight as well

Tiny parking lot. Trail is well marked and shaded but is mostly stairs and steps up then down then back. Steep. Not a flat or easy hike. There's a second parking area that requires a short hike along the road to the trailhead if the main tiny parking lot is full. Not much parking overall. Less busy than the main park from the visitors center.

Apparently this portion of Cumberland State Park doesn't allow pets. I know my dog does less damage than kids do. Definitely a huge disappointment.

Eagle falls trail at Cumberland Falls state park has a sign at the trailhead saying no pets allowed. I was surprised by this because in my research I never came across anything stating the trails were not pet friendly. Some of the trails are but this one definitely is not dog friendly. This was 1 of 2 trails I drove to this park to hike. The one star review is basically reflecting my disappointment. I'm sure the trail itself would be worth a 5 star review but my dog is with me so I won't find out :(.

Love the trail, enjoy the hike and climb and secret spots ...but this parking is god awful!!! Scrapes the bottom on one side, rubs the valance on the other. There are no options, so.....just be careful

Convenient spot to park for the eagle falls trail, but get there early. Not a lot of space, so it fills up quick.
