I tend to drive anything made in the 90s and enjoy keeping these old cars on the road. When I can't wrestle in a new part or it's beyond my abilities - I call Mercers.I've been taking my cars here since I moved to Paducah five years ago. I'm incredibly meticulous about maintaining them! I've come to know Gary, his wife and his business after each repair and they're beyond fair in price and the service they deliver. You won't find a better mechanic in western KY!Thank you both so much!

Owner is rude and condescending. All I wanted was a diagnosis and he acted like I was an inconvenience for bringing my vehicle there. I would recommend any other garage before I ever go/send anyone there again.

You won t find a better, more honest man than Gary. He is an excellent mechanic, and has assembled a quality team. I trust him completely to treat my vehicles like they were his own.

Told them I was having fuel pump issues they told me it was a starter, which cost me 600 to fix. He told me overwhelmed phone that hed check the fuel pump once the starter was on. I picked my van up and it was still having issues starting.. when I told them it was still acting up they said they never checked the fuel pump, even after I told them thats what was giving me issues, and it was too bad I paid for a starter and it'd be several more weeks before they could fix their mistakes. Very disrespectful and unprofessional. Would not recommend.

The worst experience. They were talking to me like a toddler and laughed when I told them what was going on with my car. You could definitely tell they were talking down to me because i m a woman and assumed I didn t know anything. I took my vehicle somewhere else and what do you know, it was exactly what I said it was.

We've been taking cars to Gary Huston@Mercer's for over 30 years. His wife Sharon runs the front and phone with friendly and knowledgeable skill. We have always found service to be reliable and trustworthy.

My wife gets home telling me the cars engine light is on and the battery s draining down. We have a new battery so I knew it was the Alternator. I stopped by Autozone and got it checked just the same. Thanks Larry. Then headed straight to Mercer s Garage. They welcomed me with open arms and Sharon s the sweetest lady ever. They re fixing it and they also got me a ride home so I didn t have to wait at the shop. Thanks guys already you rock !!!!Update 11/7/17;Mercer s and Gary, went on to save me money by telling me it wasn t the Alternator, it was a thermostat and I needed to replace the heat sensor as well. Thanks again folks. They had my car completed within a few hours.

Had my truck in for a regular oil change, all was fine until i had to change it. When trying to remove the filter it ripped causeing a huge problem and was unable to get it off. I contacted them and they would not help with the over torqued filter. Got it removed and was informed that it wasnt even lubricated at the seal. Dont think its the company but i do think the tech did not know what they was doing thats for sure...

Went for a break check... (noise)... said my front breaks were fine, but back drums were stuck on and they needed to be turned.. said front breaks were fine.. got that done.. I think it was around $70-100.. about a month later, notice I wasn t holding break fluid... added fluid.. looked at a day or two later and had dropped again.. notice fluid in my parking lot.. called and took it back.. they said break tubing or something had become damaged and had to redo the fitting piece... and the front breaks needed replacing.. I mentioned they said they were good last month.. he said they must of only checked one side( he later showed me the break pads.. but those could of been any old break pads..idk) .. ended up costing $150.. or so... a couple of weeks later.. I go to get an oil change... at the local quick oil spot and they told me I had a pretty serious oil leak... they said it look like it s coming from the valve casing... sure enough.. I do a visual... and both valve casings are leaking.. I researched fixing and places to fix it and became skeptical of Mercer and many don t work on leaks because they said more leaks are sure to followed... so I decided to do on my own... I had time which I didn t have before on the breaks... as I got started , and removed some components that were in the way.. I get to the first bolt on the valve cover.. and it was finger loose... I thought that was very strange.. as I went around both sides.. I noticed several that were pretty loose in my book... I replaced the gasket and did a tuneup as well since I had everything apart... no leaks as of a month later... bolts are still tight...This was my experience.. may have been a coincidence... idk... will try my luck out at another shop if any future issues arise that I don t have time for...
