Very pleased with the repairs AUTO Alternatives made to my son's vehicle including brakes/rotors, wheel bearings, power steering, cam shaft, and more. The car was a mess! Has over 225K miles. Sounded like a war tank before service. Was stalling out going into sharp turns. Scary business. Now drives smoothly and quietly. Hope to get several thousand more miles out of car based on the repairs AUTO Alternatives made. Certainly feel safer and that the car is more road worthy. I've been an AUTO Alternative customer for a few years and trust the owner/staff so I took my son's car to them for service. I feel confident that I can rely on their knowledge and experience as to the the repair work necessary on a vehicle. Thanks AUTO Alternative!

The fine staff of Auto Alternative are extremely competent at their work! I have had multiple bigger jobs done on my 2010 CRV, and they always get it done correctly. They even fixed my AC which the dealership was unable to do! Even better, their pricing is noticeably lower than the dealer! I highly recommend Auto Alternative!Don t let the parking lot in front scare you off.

We took an Honda Civic over to auto Alter. To check to see if it was a Good car to Purchase and unfortunately in this case it had too many issues for the price. But because of their Expertise & Experience we were able to make the right decision. We have been taking our vehicles to auto alternative for over 25 years and they always do the job right the First time! I am very fussy about who works on my car but this place is by far top notch with their work and their customer service. They have taken me on a last minute ordeal, as well as schedule work. They also have rental cars for you if you need one until your car is fixed; who else does that for you? !!! The shop is clean, the staff is super friendly and I will always go here now.

The team at Auto Alternative were great. They gave very honest pricing, and were willing to go out of their way to make fixes that made future fixes cheaper for me. They were courteous and kept me informed about progress. I recommend them. My vehicle is a 2009 Prius.

Great first time experience. I had my vehicle towed in after an alternator failure on the road. They fixed the problem, as well as the root of the problem. Had a timing belt service also. Provided me with all the info and prices before the work and charged me accordingly. Everyone was very polite and professional, I will be back.

You all did a great job on my car. You changed my oil and fixed a weird rattling in my front end. Prices were very reasonable, and the customer service was excellent. I'm referring all my friends to Auto Alternative.

Excellent team, I always feel confident in the work they do. This trip was the timing belt replacement, major job. I think when I drove the car after the work it is quicker, quieter, smoother, and more fun! They were helpful in all respects. On Thanksgiving eve my daughters Jeep broke down in Lexington on her way from MD. One quick call to Thayre, a tow from AAA, an Auto Alternative loaner, and she, and her black Lab Chaos, were on their way safely to family in Louisville. Thayre and his superb mechanics had her fixed up and on her way Saturday morning, all during a busy holiday weekend, which says a lot of Auto Alternative's loyalty to their customers. Thanks Auto Alternative, you turned a frightening experience into a grateful experience!!

I drive a 2007 Honda Element with 210,000 miles. I road trip all over central Kentucky and daily drive in Lexington. The team at Auto Alt have serviced my Honda extensively, including valve adjustments, complete suspension maintenance, regular oil changes, tire replacement, and troubleshooting noises, ticks, and check engine light. They re professional, communicate well, and specialize in imports like my Honda.I m looking forward to many more miles with my car and know it s in good hands with Thayre and his team of certified mechanics!

Dec. 20, 2023: Had the Transmission Fluid, Transfer Case Fluid, and Rear Differential Fluid replaced as well as Tires Rotated and an Oil Change a week back. Everything was completed as promised and the vehicle is back on the road. Drives very well and the brakes (serviced Sep. 28) continue to perform well.Oct. 5, 2023: I cannot thank Thayre and his team enough for coming to my rescue time and time again. I now live much farther from AAS&S than I did several years ago and do not stop by as often as I used to. Yet, whenever I had thorny problems that others could not resolve, AAS&S has always come through. So too this time around. After a well-known Toyota repair shop in Lexington botched up my brakes repeatedly, I took it to the dealer who provided an expensive quasi-fix that did not solve my problem. Finally, I took the time (on Sep 28) to have Thayre look at it, and the brakes are just fine over the last week or so. I expect the brakes will do well over the longer term. So, yes, I recommend AAS&S without reservations. I only wish they were located closer to where I now live.

Thayer came to my rescue yesterday after I purchased a new battery from Sam's Club thinking that I was saving money...not only by their price but also by their service..."free installation!" It took the nice folks at Sam's over an hour to determine that although they had the right battery for my Acura MDX, they were unable to install it because they are not mechanics! They suggested that I return the battery or find some mechanic who could install it. I have been going to Auto Alternative for several years for work on my Hondas, I decided to ask for their help. The first thing Thayer said was "you want us to install a battery that you did not purchase here...I groveled and said yes, I would be happy to pay for their service!" Thayer thought for a moment and then said he would take care of it...which he did at no charge! If you ever need a battery for your Acura MDX do not waste your time at Sam's...go to Auto Alternative and purchase a Diehard battery from the professionals...I will never go any place else!Service: Auto battery replacement

Great experience! The level of communication they kept with me was phenomenal. They made sure I was updated with both estimated cost and location of parts that they ordered, and made sure I was informed of any other potential problems that may occur. I really appreciated the treatment I experienced with this being my first time using their services.
