They did a great job on my heater. Will use them again when the need arises. Thought they were fair. Recommend to try them out.

Yelled at my wife completely unprovoked. She took our vehicle there and after describing the problem the owner became irate and went off because they did not know how to fix it. Clearly they are completely unhinged and want to try to make other people as miserable as they are. I can't stress enough that this childish fit came out of nowhere. Don't run a business if you are incompetent and have zero people skills. He's also really big on telling you how much he makes an hour so I'm sure hes super trustworthy on how much he charges customers as well.

I was In Louisville from Ga. driving a 07 Honda Pilot that had developed a severe gas leak. I stopped at the first place I passed, it being Thoroughbred Automotive. I didn t ask the man his name but wish I had. We both thought it was a gas line. I asked if he could fix it quick. He said not quick but tomorrow. The next day he called around lunch and said something had punctured my tank and since Pilots had plastic tanks it would have to be replaced instead of repaired and he had a used one on the way. I had just filled up before the leak and he had put a pan under it to catch my gas. At 5:15 pm that evening he called and said it was done. I showed up to get it and there laid my old tank so I could see the damage. He strained the leaked gas, saving it, drained the other tank and even took my vehicle to the gas station and topped it off for me. This man is quick, very honest and was very much a pleasure to meet and work with. I was skeptical about pricing me being from out of town and more or less an emergency case but he was very reasonably priced. I am very happy with the work and his honesty. Thoroughbred Automotive and the owner are both gems. Highly recommended by me, I only wish he was in my hometown. I ve read other reviews that say the guy is cranky over the phone but he s very busy and as far as I am aware he answers his own phone so I completely understand I can deal with cranky much better than someone nice that rips me off.

Bernie is the best! Always gets my car running again fast, helps me understand what s going on, and probably should charge a little more I m always pleasantly surprised that the bill isn t any higher. He s an interesting character, he likes cars, he likes his work, and he likes people. He even helped me figure out how to get my car started over the phone when it was failing to start after fueling. I recommend his shop to anyone who will listen.

I was taken care of for over 20 years by this establishment. But, recently, I spent upwards of $900 to get a wheel bearing replaced. Still didn't fix the problem and I had to spend around $600, to get the job done right. They are awesome with older cars, but if you have a car newer than 2001, don't go here. Not to mention you don't get a receipt for the work that was done!

Very rude, had spoken with them 2 weeks ago about the problem with my car was told to call when I would have towed to them. Called today to ask if it was okay to have towed. The owner bluntly said No! Call back and hung up! So rude. No need to be like that!

Bernie is one of a kind. If he hangs up on you don't get upset. HE IS BUSY ! LOL. They always do great work and are always fair on pricing. I have had him work on atleast 6 different cars of mine and the job is always done correctly.

I dropped all my oil on the interstate a few years ago and these guys fixed me up. Truck has had no issues since. I have taken my fiance� s car there twice in the last month for two different issues and they were the cheapest in town. They are HONEST! Something you don't find in mechanic shops these days. Communication was amazing, fast work and very fair. I wish I could give them 10 stars! Thank you!

For the price of Bernie does a good job had one bad incident but over the years it's always been very good work cheaper than anyone else I drive a 08 Dodge Caliber and a 02 Toyota Solara Camry with 231,000 MI and we'll try to keep it running as long as he'll help me out also

Bernie and his crew recently had my truck in for a pretty major repair. Was very quick getting in. Let me know other things that could be replaced while it was apart and that should be because of the miles/age. But, would always call and keep me filled in on the process and what to expect. No surprises! Straight shooting guy! I know vehicles and worked on trucks for years. Still do a lot of my own stuff. But for bigger jobs where I need it quick, Bernie and Thoroughbread Automotive is my new go to shop in Louisville! Thanks for the great service! Bernie and his crew do excellent work. Everything is explained clearly for you to understand. The time frames given are usually accurate. Reasonable prices, great service. The only place to take my car.

I called to ask if they worked in a particular Brand of cars and what I got was, Thorobred: "hello". Me: "hello, do you all work in ---?". Thorobred: " no, Smith's imports. " and they hung up. I thought that to be unprofessional at the least!

I took my F-250 for a leaking radiator to have them put in a new one, at dealership over $1,200 for a plastic radiator. These guys spent the entire day testing it to find what I said was a small pinhole leak. They never found it and recommended I don't change it and just monitor the A/C condensation. The problem was condensation total bill for that instance? $0. To this day I refuse to go anywhere else.

Absolutely the best mechanic in Louisville! I took in my '04 Mitsubishi Eclipse due to engine problems, suspension, and a new timing belt. It didn't fix the problem at first, but we took it back and they kept working on it until it was fixed. They worked on it over a holiday and didn't even charge me labor! Extremely trustworthy and honest! I'll never go anywhere else!

Called to get a radiator flush and was immediately greeted with "could you please humanly possibly hold on" and the phone was slammed down. Don't even need to go in, very rude, will be taking my business elsewhere.

Had an oil leak. charged me $225 to change the gaskets and didn't even diagnose the problem. Told me they ran the car for an hour or more and had no leak. Drove the car home. 20 minute drive. Was leaking and smelt of burnt oil when we pulled in. DON'T Trust them.

Wow Just got off the phone with a mechanic there (the owner?). Sounded very stress cause he was so busy and backed up. Was rude and hung up on me after ranting about how busy he is. Awful service, very unprofessional.

Love it. Bernie helps with honesty and truthful answers. Never bullsh*t* any of his customers. Would recommend this place to any and everyone!!! Will never go anywhere else.. Best mechanics around. Very affordable

Damn good shop with honest mechanics took my truck in cuz of smoking coming from under the hood turned out to be just spilt fluid on my undercarriage frame. Another shop would have "found" something wrong. Not these guys they tested everything and didn't charge me. Always slammed when you go there but thats just how it is when your policy is honesty. Not the most polite human being in the world answering the phone and holding down the desk but just don't be a whiney liberal for a day and you'll get your car fixed.

The man that owns this business is very honest and will tell you exactly what's wrong and what you need to fix now and what can wait for later. His prices are usually a lot less expensive than anyone else. Try to be patient when calling him because he's so busy he normally does not have time to answer the phone

I was referred to this place because it was supposed to be really good. I took my car in and he supposedly fixed it, nope, took it back again, nope. To make a long story short, now my car is somewhere else and what thorobred did to it had nothing to do about what is going on. The man that runs the place is rude, he cussed and on top of that, he would get a phone call, pick up the phone and slam it down. Very disappointed with their service.
