Recently found this gem of an mechanic. Honest, trustworthy and needless to say I ve found my go to guy. Had been quoted $300 for the purge valve to be replaced in my ford focus and I got to Rod s and the price was actually $280. I couldn t have been more pleased! Thank you Rod!!!

Had a great experience here getting my car fixed. I just stumbled upon it because I needed the closest shop urgently. Great staff, Rod was incredibly friendly and helpful as were the other mechanics. Quick service, reasonable prices and felt like a genuine car shop instead of franchise. I highly recommend this spot over others in the area!

Since I wouldn t know any better, they ve had the opportunity on several occasions to charge me for services I did not need. Instead they ve been honest when nothing s wrong, or when I could do something cheaper. This is the ONLY place I will go.

When someone stole my catalytic converter, Rod was able to get me in the same day, and replace it for half what my Is Toyota dealer wanted.

This guy is the best hearted, most kind man I've ever met. I have a car with a bad engine, but the last mechanic tore it to hell, and left my engine in shambles, stole my battery, and just left it in pieces. This man took my car and not only pieced it back together, but put a brand spanking new battery in it so I could get it going to at least know what was wrong and sale it if I wanted. HE would have done my engine replacement, but my car wasn't worth the labor, unfortunately. I will NEVER EVER EVER go to another mechanic. This is an honest, good hearted wonderful and amazing man. This is why his business is still open this long and why he's been blessed this many years. Thanks, Rods, for being honest, professional, and quite simply a God send.

This is the second time I ve come to see Rod. He s been around for years and for obvious reasons why. He s simply the best! Helped me diagnose two different issues. Being a female I have never liked taking my car to a mechanic. I feel like I should just open up my checkbook and say here....make it out for whatever you need to fix my car. Not with Rods Automotive Services! I told them the problem and they fixed my car for a reasonable price, and since I was on my way to work, they had it done quickly. I was in awe! I called my mother and told her I finally found a mechanic shop for my car! Rod's is where I plan on taking my car if I have a problem in the future. Honest mechanics and good prices! Thanks guys!

I went to this shop because I try to support local businesses. I asked to have my oil changed, spark plugs changed, and to see about how much it would cost to fix my AC and rear brakes.I understand the $50 labor cost for seeing about my AC, but $70 to change my oil? Didn't change my spark plugs like I asked. Claimed to have "looked at them," but not what I asked them to do. My plugs have over 150,000 miles on them, and I know they need to be changed. Quoted me $2,000 to fix my AC and $450 to change my rear brakes. The mechanic here saw a young female and seized the opportunity to take advantage.I left with oil that wasn't even the correct viscosity for my car (it takes 5W-20 and I noted that the sticker says 5W-30 that they stuck in my windshield) and $120 poorer.Called my mechanic back in my hometown, which is about 2 hours away, to see if they would take a look at my car. Parts to have my rear brakes changed and the AC to be fixed came out to be $150. I got the same work done for a fraction of the price that this shop tried to charge me.TL;DR - Take your business elsewhere because they will price gouge you, especially if you are a woman.Service: Oil change

So far, so good. I've had work done here 3 times now and they have treated me right, every time. Reasonable pricing and haven't had any issues with any work performed. Hard to find good mechanic these days. Thanks, guys! Appreciate it.

Rod is always very kind and helpful, always gets the cars done quick. We only go to rods fr our car problems. I think they've been there for 50 some years and that should speak for itself.

Repair services were fairly priced and the turnaround time was reasonable. Had a small issue related to the repair a few weeks after service, and they took care of it quickly and at no charge. I went to Rod's for a transmission service. The did the job without delay. My daughter drove me there to get my car. Her car was making noise so I had them check it out as well. They fixed the front wheel bearing and tie rod end. Two cars in one day what great service.

I was on a road trip around the country and experienced car issues in Louisville. I found Rod's automotive and appreciated how kind Rod and his staff were before any work started. I explained my situation to Rod and he even gave me a discount. So far so good.Neither Rod nor any of his staff were able to diagnose the issue. The mechanics thought it was a transmission issue even though the issue (a noise) was happening while the car was sitting in neutral and not even in gear. My mechanic - in Connecticut - explained this over the phone to Rod's mechanic.I was able to SELF-DIAGNOSE the issue to be AC-related while continuing on the road trip.When it came time to pay Rod increased the price by $150+. When I told him about his originally quoted price and discount, he - in front of other customers - threatened to rip the parts out of the hood of my car.

I had an issue with my truck this past weekend and was looking for a place to take it to have it fixed ASAP. Rod s accommodated me as soon as they opened on Monday morning and had it fixed by the end of the day. They quoted me a price and when they were done fixing and replacing the part that was broken, charged me less than originally quoted. I also had a million questions to ask because I am curious about what goes wrong in vehicles and Ron, the employee who assisted me and worked on my truck, obliged all of my questions and explained them in a manner where I could comprehend. Would def take my business here again.

Love Rods Automotive. Rod is always quick to get my car in and out. He always let's me know when I need something else that could cause me problems down the road. He has decent prices and very good qualified mechanics that treat every customer like family. Andy is always good at diagnosing my problem and Donnie is always right behind him to fix my car and get me on the road. I highly recommend this garage to everyone. Give Rod a chance.

The best automotive mechanic in Louisville. They treat you literally like family. The staff is knowledgeable and courteous. The owner, Rodney, is great and the prices are reasonable. You won't be disappointed.

if i can give them a 10 star i would! these guys are great fixed my car fast no problems great prices. i had went to springdale auto off brownsbarrow rd they wasted my time and money will never goto them again. but rod helped me out sameday had my car done in few hrs and i was back on the road again!!

Rod's Automotive has a very competent crew, and is one of the only shops in the area that's equipped to pull an engine (if necessary). Their prices are very fair, and the owner, Rod, does a great job of sharing his diagnosis and recommending cost effective solutions.
