Throughout my experiences, I've always dealt with Matt at Grossman Tuning. I can't emphasize enough the outstanding quality of their work. This shop operates with honesty and often accommodating appointments at your convenience. I fully recommend Grossman Tuning for their exceptional service!

Took my 2018 Subaru to Grossman on recommendation from Paul from Sound Factory Louisville. Not only did they do great work for a reasonable price on my brakes, they also looked into my serpentine belt and instead of recommending replacement took it off and reran/greased it solving the squeaking issue I was dealing with free of charge. Fair priced work, great customer service and communication, and beautiful dogs in the lobby. Highly recommended.

The shop is very professional, Matt was my point of contact and was great at keeping me updated. The owner is also very friendly, as is the rest of the staff.I had an issue rear its head after a transmission service and they happily helped me through it.They went above and beyond by (right before closing time!) clearing a spot for my car to get up and diagnosing the issue on the spot.If I would have originally asked them to diagnose my transmission instead of just confidently asking for an entire fluid flush and filter change I probably would have saved a lot of money.Service: Transmission

Came in with an emergency check engine blinking light and picked up my vehicle the next day. I ended up driving away from Grossman feeling better and more secure driving in my car than I have before. Felt very taken care of. Highly caring, attentive, and thorough.

Horrible experience. They put a timing belt on my car last year which cost a lot of money to find not only was it not necessary but it actually caused damage to the cam shaft. Now I have to pay to repair that.I went to them four different times telling them about my cars issues and all four times they said they didn t know what was wrong. Well apparently there was a lot more that was missed by them.Horrible mechanics. Do not take your car to them.

There are not many shops left in this city like Grossman's. This is a place where you can find a newer Vdub, an old Microbus, maybe a Benz or two of all ages, as well as vintage Jaguars, Rolls and Bentleys, even a super rare Lamborghini Jalpa among the Audis and a few domestics getting anything from routine service to a motor rebuilt and tuning mods to make a beast out of an already hot car. This is a place where Car People go. And a specialty shop has to be run differently than the average Dealer or independent shop. They're solid, can diagnose about anything on any kind of car, and price the work fairly. I've read people complain here about estimates being off . They're just that, an estimate ! You won't be scammed or ripped off like some of what has been said here.

I got an estimate for an engine swap and agreed to the price. I brought my car in and a month later, nothing. No calls, nothing. I called and was told my estimate was not going to be honored even though I left a deposit of $1,000.00. After some discussion I was given another much higher estimate for labor and also they could no longer provide an engine. I found one on the internet that the "mechanic" agreed would do, however I could not get a guarantee unless I agreed to pay their price and not the actual selling price of the engine that I found. Weeks later I called to ask about the progress and was told I needed an whole new clutch assembly at a cost of $800.00. No calls to me about this, I called them. After agreeing to hopefully a lower priced clutch they agreed to proceed with the install. Now they have had the car for more than two month ( since May 18th) and still no completed repairs. You take a chance with this outfit. Use with caution. They stole my car.Service: Engine repair

Just got my car back from Grossman tuning and the staff was so friendly! When I picked it up the cost was even less then had been estimated so I was really pleased! This shop is honest and upfront with everything that needs to be done to your car. They don't try to sell you something you don't need! I will always take my car back to Grossman tuning, thank you!

Will only take my car to Grossman Tuning. John and his staff were the utmost professionals! The prices were fair, the service was quick, and I didn't feel taken advantage of like some other garages around try to do. Highly recommend this place - no repair is too small or large!

John Grossman is one of the best guys I know. He is an honest, straightforward, dependable, professional mechanic. He has a great staff and has always provided the highest level of customer service - including roadside assistance on more than one occasion! He and his team have worked on 3 of my vehicles and I have always been more than satisfied with the results. Thank you!!

Brought my car here two years ago, requested a brake pad and rotor swap. Brought my own parts as I wanted some more upgraded brakes. It s been two years, hundreds of stops and breaks. Probably about 5 to 10 emergency brakes, my car has had no issues.

Bought a Mk7 GTI second hand and had these guys look it over and do the basics, oil change and dsg service. Super fast service, super nice guys. Will def have my car tuned here and the rest of my service done here as well. One thing I wish is that they were open on Saturdays. Makes it tough for me to drop off the car in the busiest part of Louisville and pick it up in time after I'm off work. Other than that the pricing cant be beat either.

I started going to this place years ago. The first couple times I went to this place, they was nice and honest. Had good prices. But over the years that has changed. The honest people that use to work there have quit and moved on. Now the place is filled with scam artists. The guy that works at the front counter is new. He didn't know I been coming to that shop for years. I got a estimate for $400 before he started working there. I came there after he started working there and got a estimate from him, to get the same thing done. The price he gave me was $1500. He tried to scam me out of alot of money. Then after getting my BMW fixed there, my car only went 3 weeks and then it would break down again. I brought it back there. They fixed it. 2 weeks later it broke down again. This happened 3 times and then I stopped going to that shop. They was basically messing things up on purpose so I will have to keep coming back. They was not fixing my car at all. They was trying to get as much money out of me as possible. Stay away from this shop. They will fix something on your car and then mess up something else so you will have to come right back. I learned my lesson. I will only take my car to the dealership for now on. I will pay the higher price so I will get my car fixed right and not have to deal with scammers.

Owner John Grossman is very unprofessional. This is my experience with Grossman Tuning.I took my mazdaspeed here to have a rattle noise looked at that occured only under boost. My car was diagnosed. I was told it was one of two parts with a loose CV shaft, I told the owner John to order the parts so they would be there when I drop it off Monday in a week. He agreed and I paid for the diagnostic. (I also asked about tuning with my accessport and was told he could do street pulls and send the results to Cobb to tune, well I can do that but OK back to my issue). I drop my car off before they open. Receive a call at the end of the day from the service manager asking why my car is there. I explain and he says he will order the parts because John never told anyone to do so and the car will be ready in 2-3 days. I finally call 5 days later because no one has called me yet. It s Friday, they explain they swapped the parts but it is still making the noise, employees are trying to get in contact with the owner John but he is on vacation and not responding. I was very clear in asking them to call me before they close that day (to update me), but they did not. I call Monday, and was told the parts installed were for a different model/year (I had given my VIN when they ordered so this would not happen) but the correct parts will be ordered and it will be ready by Thursday. They apologized for the delay it was because the employee working on my car had walked out on the job. I get a call Wednesday saying the owner has been diagnosing my car Again, including brake torquing it, to find the issue (no mention of the incorrect parts). They cannot find where the noise is coming from so they want to pull my oil pan and check for metal shavings to see if there are signs of a foreign object in my engine. quote is 4 hours labor (over $400) to pull the oil pan. I said that seems high and the service manager agreed but says that is what it is. I told them him that is to much, stop all work, and asked what I own for the current parts/labor and I will pick the car up tomorrow. Service manager says my bill is about $300.This is when it gets good. I go to pick up my car and pay my bill and it is now $500. I asked why it went up since last night and apparently the owner added more service charges to my invoice overnight. I told them I was unhappy about that and given two options by the owner John over the phone, "pay 80% of my current bill OR all service/labor chargers will be removed (making my bill $0) AND the new parts will be removed". Odd but I told them to take the parts off because it never fixed my issue in the first place. They agreed. I get a copy of my invoice with a balance of $0 and a manager's signature because I do not believe them *see photo/date.I show up the next day to pick my car up and the parts have been removed BUT they hand me a $135 bill for a second diagnostics that I never approved *see photo/date. The owner had added it overnight Again. I show them my invoice from the night before with no balance and the signature but they refuse to give me my car unless I pay. I ask to speak with the owner, he is "on his way and will be here in 20 minutes". After waiting and waiting I am reassured multiple times that he is coming, then an hour later, right before they close I am told he texted he is not coming. I ask to talk to him on the phone but he is not answering their calls.Manager says she will discount 50% because they have to charge something but I refuse. So I'm told to come back tomorrow if I want to talk with the owner. I console my lawyer and he says I would win in court but it s not worth the court/legal fees, effort/time. I show up the next day and ask for the owner, the employee goes to get him and brings me my keys instead.Owner would not talk to me. Now I have my car back, original parts, original noise, and a new noise coming from the clutch.Update: noise was bad injector seal losing compression from boost pressure

Helpful Fast friendly customer service. My oil drain bolt was seized and stuck on from previous owner. They replaced the bolt and changed my oil with liquid moly. I noticed an immediate difference.

Clueless management. I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere for work. I scheduled an appointment to have my car tuned. I called on 3/31 to make the appointment for 4/14. Requested the VIN from my car and I provided it 4/2. I then called them on 4/11 to make sure everything with my tune was good. I was told I would get a call if something wasn't. I drove to the shop and was told my tune was NOT READY. Then the owner attempted to try to push the fault to the tuner saying if was their fault the tune wasn't ready when I called 3 days prior I was told everything was ready. Most worthless experience. Save your money and go somewhere else.

I dropped my car off at Grossman's because the turn signals stopped working and the check engine light came on. They told me they would charge me a diagnostics fee and then call me before they did anything. They called me a few hours later and said I owed them $160. I owed them two diagnostics fees - one for the check engine light and another to tell me that my turn signal relay was out. And the rest of the $160 was labor to replace a part, which I was even told on the phone was "hardly a job." I was mad that they did the work without asking and then charged me this much, but I paid it because it was already done.THEN, I went to a scrap yard and found a couple turn signal relays inside some Honda Del Sol's (which are hard to find in the first place) to replace the one that they said was bad. None of them fixed my turn signals. Later I took my car to another mechanic who quickly told me that I had a bad fuse. So, I replaced the fuse and the turn signals worked perfectly with the original relay. I told Grossman's about this, hoping they would refund my money for a bad diagnosis, but I was told that since the time they spent making a bad diagnosis couldn't be returned, then neither could my money.I recommend you avoid giving them your business as well.

I have been taking my cars to Grossman Tuning for the past eight years. I have always been happy with the service, repairs, and the prices. Grossman Tuning was recommended to me by a friend and I recommend them to my friends when asked if I know any good mechanics.
