I had my engine leak fixed at the latter part of January 2024. This is a huge job, I expected it to take a while. As impatient as I was, I was glad that everytime I called, Eric at the front desk was always very professional and talked to me with optimism! He not only is an excellent representative at the front desk, he also was able to vouch for me against my warranty company when they were denying my coverage. He was able to get them to pay 90% of the charges which was excellent news in light of this inconvenience! Not only did I get my car fixed in a timely manner, but I was able to save $2000. It doesn t get better than that. 10/10 and thanks for everything!!

I would not recommend this place at all! They over charge you on their hourly rate. They say they go by the book. But that s not true! Jobs that take only one hour in the book they charge you for two hours (always)! Then they try to push financing to help cover their overcharges. I definitely questioned their honesty.

I was looking to purchase a vehicle and after looking at the Carfax I saw it was serviced at this location. The service manager took the VIN from me to look into why it was at their shop. After searching it, he took the time to go over with me what was done and looked even further into the carfax for any possible red flags. I really appreciate him taking the time to look into this for me.

Eric at Aamco was wonderful! The last thing I wanted to hear was that I would have to get my full transmission replaced but he was extremely helpful. Called around to get me the best price and completely the work within a week. I am so thankful I came to these guys. Had a transmission go bad after 10k miles. Despite delays due to vendors backstock, we got a working transmission back into my truck and it was covered under warranty.

The care and service I received on my recent visit to this Ammco was simply the best. I went in to have my transmission looked at as I was having problems. Eric was so helpful and kept me informed every step of the way. Not only did they diagnose the issue, they fixed my car that day. I will definitely be a repeat customer for all my car needs. Grateful I found a place that I feel are honest and will not try to take advantage of me and charge for something that does not need to be done.Service: Transmission

When I tell you the service I got was superb . Please know it was an understatement! Erick was real and let me know the wait time. I told him my situation and he was more than accommodating! I can t tell you what a true blessing he was. My heart is truly full. I came to Louisville from a small town in Ohio and a light come on. Single momma trying to save the world and not being practical about my vehicle. Once I threw a light I was frantic. Erick shows me that compassion of a small town in a big place. I can t thank you enough! My heart is eternally grateful

Shout out to Eric! Most helpful person I ve ever met! Top notch mechanics and the best customer service you ll find. I wouldn t suggest taking your car anywhere else. Aamco Dixie is hands down the best repair shop in the city!

$$2,200 IN THE HOLE!! Probably the worst experience I ve ever had, my car just would not start out of the blue told them it wasn t getting gas, well after they changed every thing under the hood hoping it would start mind you every time they called they found the problem and this would fix it, well nothing did finally after 3 weeks the decided it was electrical and after 2200 dollars worth of parts and labor they just give up and say were done we re not an electrical shop. This place use to be top notch!!!! Very disgusting extremely disappointed.

Had my car towed there. After they had it for 2 days, a man called me explaining it needed a new trans. The cost was about 3,000.00. Needless to say I had my car towed to another shop for a second opinion to Ross Bros in IN. They diagnosed and repaires my car in 1 day. Price was 183.00. AAMCO tried to swindle me out of 3,000.00 SHAME ON YOU

Hated the entire experience with Aamco. Know this they are in the business of replacing transmissions. They do not repair or rebuild transmissions. So you are going to spend $$$$.

950 for a tune up just to pick up my truck with the check engine light still on and truck running the same as when I dropped it off. Not happy I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!!!!

This AAMCO is absolutely the best auto repair shop I ve ever been to. Very helpful and friendly staff. Eric was the absolute best and made me feel very comfortable there and handled my account and car with care. They were able to help me with my car problems and I had my car by the end of the day. Erick station manager went to bet to make sure that the warranty company gave me a new transmission and not a rebuilt one just to satisfy the warranty. The warranty company agreed with Eric because he was persistent and treated me like a genuine customer I got what I deserved thanks to Erick and Silver Rock. They stepped up and did the right thing. I m glad I had Silver Rock and not some of the other warranty companies you here about on TV if you know what I mean. Very satisfied customer all the way around. Recommend Aamco on Dixie Highway and Silver Rock

I have been taking my car's to this locally owned maintenance shop for years. Very professional and most importantly honest. They will give you straight forward advice and not just try and up sale you. The work they do is excellent and they stand by it. You won't be sorry if you give Eric a call and have all your car needs taken care in a timely manner. My clutch just went out last Friday but couldn't get in the shop till Monday. This was the week of Thanksgiving mind you. They was able to find the issue, replace the clutch and got me my car back by Wednesday. Brought my Kia Optima into AAMCO after a few other shops told me it would be at least a week wait time to troubleshoot why my engine was leaking oil and smoking up the engine bay. They told me they were extremely busy, but they were still able to fit me in for troubleshooting between some other jobs they had going on. They were able to replace my valve cover gasket and get me back on the road in a single day, way faster than I was expecting. Dixie Hwy AAMCO will definitely be the first place I start bringing my car when I need something repaired.

I've got to say, I'm pretty bummed about the whole experience I had with them. It's like they went out of their way to disappoint me, and it's just not what I expected.So, here's the scoop: I went in for a diagnostic test, and when I came back, they hit me with a whopping $160 bill. I mean, seriously? That's a chunk of change that caught me off guard. And get this, they handed me this piece of paper with some scribbles on it, and I asked for a proper printout. The guy's response? "Sure, let me type it up in the computer, but it's basically the same thing." Um, excuse me?Here's where things got kinda weird. I was planning to pay in cash, but suddenly the guy's attitude did a 180. It felt like he was giving me the side-eye and thinking about stashing my cash right in his pocket. That was enough to make me switch to my card, but the whole vibe left me feeling uneasy, to say the least.And let's talk about the price they quoted me to fix the issue they found. Hold onto your seat it was crazy expensive. Like, "Are you kidding me?" kind of expensive. At that point, I knew I had to explore other options.Guess what? I took my car to the dealership, fully expecting another wallet-draining experience. But lo and behold, they gave me an estimate that was half of what these folks were asking for. Imagine my surprise!So, to wrap things up, I've made up my mind: I'm not going back to that place. Between the wallet shock, the weird vibes, and the sky-high repair costs, it's a hard pass from me. I'll be on the lookout for a more reliable and wallet-friendly spot to get my car sorted.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

I posted a review a few weeks ago but it looks like aamco had it removed and I noticed the owner has never replied. I ask myself? My experience with this shop has been the worst. I paid $729 for them to inspect my axle and fix whatever was going on. After giving authorization they called me back within an hour saying they removed my axle inspected it and put a new boot clamps and grease on it the problem was fixed so they said but it wasn t . Still had the same problem. Took it to another shop where they showed me my axle had never been taken out no new boot clamps or grease . It took 3 hours to remove the old axle and replaced the new one. I m sick I have health issues I don t like to do business with places I can t trust never again and I mean never again! There s so much more to say about my experience but I was told the owner does rebuttals on his review so there s that can t hide them all!

I go to AAMCO regularly to have my vehicles serviced and I ve always had a good experience doing business with Eric and his team.The customer service is unmatched; I appreciate that I get a call anytime a decision about my vehicle is being made and that I m involved in that process, that my options are elaborated to me before anything is done to my car, and that there s always the option to make payments if a fix gets expensive. I recently put my Edge in the shop for a bad water pump, anticipating and pricey bill, and after the car was looked at I was called right away, given news that the majority of the work anticipated wasn t needed, after updating me I was asked if they could move forward with the cheaper fix, meaning less time for my car in the shop (which for a one car family is HUGE) and I SO appreciate that they kept me aware of the process and progress made every step of the way.I appreciate the work these guys do and I d highly recommend them!

I went to AAMCO on Dixie Highway yesterday and was warmly greeted by Eric and Steve. I explained my car issues to them and they immediately said "Bring it in." They discovered that my issue was bigger than what we thought. They were nice enough to inform me that my problem was possibly a recall. I am still in the process of getting my car worked on but they even called and checked on me after I left! That says a lot about customer care. Their kindness and honesty let me in the right direction and it was greatly appreciated. All I needed was a routine oil change. I made the appointment online. They called the next day to confirm along with an email. The staff was knowledgeable, polite and efficient. I ll return for my next oil change.

This is a first and last time customer for this place, I went confident to repair my vehicle considering the good reviews but once I have the experience I just found out I also had to read the bad ones. Took them a week to fix a cooling fan. Overpriced (almost 1K for a cheap Nissan Versa). Which I agreed to repair because I didn't have the time to take it somewhere else. Don't even think about using the coupons on their website, because they will come with lies and tell you at the end that they can be applied even to repairs that clearly says on the coupon itself that are exempted but not for your repair.Do not waste your time and money and use my experience as a reference.Jose chavez.** As an update to my previous review considering the owner response, he says he honored the coupon I mentioned which is another intent to palter with the truth, he clearly stated the coupon should be overriden and he was not even aware of the existence of this discount on the website.** I received a call a day before I picked up my vehicle when they let me know if was ready and repaired. The statement that it was ready 3 days before the day I picked it up only shows that they have bad communication with customers or a deceitful intent to cover their lack of performance.

Honest people. Willing to give up business if it means getting you to the right place. Our truck needed a major engine repair. They don t do those and let us know right up front.Hard to find honest car repair shops like that.

The guys at AAMCO were incredibly helpful, timely and sincere! I was so grateful to have found them!!! They worked really fast on my car, kept me in the loop with regular updates on the status, and carefully explained each aspect of pricing and the warranty! Eric was especially nice and patient with me, and took time in answering all my questions, no matter how many times I called back!I will not hesitate to refer them to anyone who needs it! I brought my vehicle in to check out the transmission, and not only did they do this, but they found other things that were cause for concern and called to ask if I wanted them to check it out. Erick and team were incredibly thorough and communicated everything with me in a kind and timely manner. Erick is AMAZING.The man needs a raise. He replaced the CVT transmission within a week, explained EVERYTHING to me, approved me for a 12 month financing on a 5k+ cost of the new transmission. His customer service is above and beyond. I will refer any friends or family needing car repair to this location. I could not be happier with the way things turned out.
