Went in to sell my truck based off the online quote. They had me an offer with an exact match to the online one. Only took about 10-15 minutes for the inspection and less than an hour to get all the paperwork completed! Complimentary waters for the wait as well. Would certainly do business again

I sold my car by getting an online offer. I was honest about any problems with my 15 year old vehicle. When I arrived at CarMax, the appointment was quick, the people were friendly, and I received a check for the exact amount offered online. Overall this was a positive experience and would consider making a future purchase as well.

I had a great experience with CarMax. When I contacted them to test-drive a car I was in a pretty negative situation, having been without a car for over a month due to insurance issues (after an accident the insurance company told me my car would be repairable, then after 3 weeks of assessment decided to total it instead) and problems with Carvana's inability to actually deliver a car that I attempted to but from them.CarMax's staff were prompt and helpful and I was able to book a test-drive for a car I liked the next day despite having contacted them after 5pm. I was offered an express pickup option where if I liked the car I could buy it quickly and I took it.Everyone was friendly and helpful and the car was great. In total I was there less than an hour despite spending considerable time checking the car out to make sure it was exactly what I wanted.My license plate and title both arrived promptly through the mail and I'm very happy with every part of the process.

I spent 3 hours trading in a car and buying another. Initially, there was confusion how to enter a trust name into the system. This took a bit of back and forth to finally figure it out. Then, it turned out the service department had not put the car into service. The sales person (who was fine - no actual complaints about him) could not enter any of the data because of this. This was Saturday and it took a while for this to resolve. After about an hour and half I was in the "signing" office. The business person misplaced some of the paperwork and had to find it. He also forgot to get a key document for the transaction - I had to return on Monday with the item. I finally got through this process. By this time, I was ready to leave. The car had been pulled forward from the service bay. There were 2 other cars in there - both had the ribbons on them. Mine had nothing. I drove off and another "code" came up on the navigation screen. Now, I can't believe that the person who drove the car to its position didn't see this code. Again, because it was Saturday there was no one there to take care of it. So, I was back on Monday for the service department to clear this code (there wasn't anything wrong with the car) and to deliver the document that was needed for the transaction. In a nutshell, it was a BIG clusterF.

We have had numerous car purchases over the years but I have to say this was the best experience yet. We were provided a printout of the vehicles information for the test drive with next to no wait. During the purchase process we actually changed our minds to a different model that had to be delivered from another location and Matt, our salesperson was exceedingly helpful! When it came time to purchase one of the gentlemen in service had to walk us through the final paperwork and though he said he didn't do this often he was very thorough and knowledgeable.I am very impressed with the service we have had so far with a couple of parts that had to be ordered.

Bought my SUV from here after looking at several cars. They were patient as I was a first time buyer. The service department has been amazing also. Tab and Charles have made sure my car is taken care of from the minute it pulls up to the minute I leave. Thank you Car Max for making my first car purchase and servicing amazing!

I purchased a car for my son. We experienced mechanical issues within 30 miles of driving it. Sent it back to Carmax Service Center. They have had it almost two weeks now. No end in sight. Probably going to turn it back in and purchase a vehicle somewhere else. My first two experiences buying at Carmax was 5 star. This one not so much. Very disappointed.

Brian Granado was a fantastic in the service dept. he was informative and proactive in his follow ups.We bought a car for our daughter. It had an issue that he addressed very quickly even having to send it somewhere else to be repaired. Then helped ease our mind around a horrible towing experience we had that now requires body work to be done.Thanks Brian!

We got approved online, made a down-payment, drove up a week later as they had to ship our SUV from another state. Signed paperwork and off we went. Super friendly, very quick and helpful. We absolutely live out new 2020 Ford Explorer.

Couldn't have had a worse experience. Showed up for an appointment of a test drive and appraisal on time and 5 mins early. Waited 30 mins and still hadn't been given the test drive keys nor any info about how much longer it would take until someone could finally work with me. Glad I left bc after 50 mins I received a call asking if I was still in the store there. If you ask if I'm still in the store there, then that tells me you're used to having this happen to numerous customers! That's not right. Most dealerships as soon as you hit the door they give you the test drive keys bc they want you to fall in love with the car to make the sale easier for them. Not car max in Lexington Kentucky! I'll never go back there ever again!!

Purchased a Honda. Pricing on trade was very competitive as well as the purchase price of new car. Pricing is non negotiable.Sales staff were well dressed and polite. Facility was spotless.The purchase process went quickly without pressure to purchase add ons, however they were offered.The vehicle I wanted had to be shipped to Lexington. I paid the shipping fee but was under no obligation to purchase.The new car was impeccably clean and well presented, including full of gas.My entire purchase experience was a low pressure, polite experience and so far the new car is doing well.All around great experience.

I bought our last car from Carmax in California, I called and they had to transfer from Florida which cost $249.00 I didn t like paying especially if I m buying it. Test drove it kind of cut out around 45 mph and brakes were awful I could barely stop. So I contacted my salesperson and went back last Saturday to drive another Tahoe to see if they re all like this, 10 minutes before my 45 minute drive I get a text they didn t hold it and supposedly sold it imagine that so we went to Rod Hatfield they had almost identical car with 20,000 less miles no cutting out and brakes worked like they do In my car so we bought it on the spot. Sorry Carmax appreciate the $249 refund but disappointed with the sales team at this location.

It s good. Fast and kind service. I got a quote the offer to sell my car on the Carmax website. On site, Carmax checked my car and gave the printed check of same amount offered. It s satisfied.

My appraisal came in at 29,000 and felt like they did not include all my features. I complain the next day and was told I would get a call back but no one called back. Eventually I got in touch with customer support and they felt like there was nothing they could do, the Amanda, the sales manager eventually called me and explain to me that all cars lose depreciation between 30 and 40% when you drive them off the lot. The next day I contacted Carvana and they offer me 40,500 but eventually sold my truck to Ford for 40,500 I just feel like they did not treat me with respect and didn t take time to do the proper appraisal

Been on phone for over an hrs. Called 3 t8mes already. I've heard the same msg what seems like 1000 times, and yet No one has answered the phone. Real concerned with you're customers. I've purchased two from here already. At this point I'm only on the phone to let them know I'm going else were.

Hands down the fastest, easiest and perfectly haggle-free car buying experience ever. This is my second time buying a vehicle (first time from an authorized dealer) and I am so appreciative of the staff (Lisa, Karen, and Tanner) at Lexington- Sandhill for their knowledge and expertise. I think very highly of CarMax and their business model. Here s to many more years on the road- in my Subaru Outback!

Reserved a time to test drive a new car with the intent to buy. After checking in, I had waited over 30 minutes with no help and left. Got a text 15min later saying the worker was on break but ready to begin.

CarMax bought my car. The staff were all friendly and willing to help.There was an issue of where my title still had my maiden name on it, but they were able to work with me. I didn't have to drive a 2-hour round trip in order to take my marriage license back. I was able to email them a copy of the license.The selling process was super easy. I didn't even get pressured into buying a new car like some places do. They even give me almost the blue book value for my car. I really can't complain. Where there was an issue with the last name, the process took longer than anticipated, but all around, I had a good experience.

*****UPDATE*** Six months have passed and still no $200 dollar refund. This company does not follow through on their promises and I will never buy another car there. 3/3/24---------------------------------------I have bought 4 cars from Carmax over the years. Recently I paid for them to move a Fiat 500x from Georgia to Lexington. It arrived smelling like mold and with water damage stains not visible in the pictures. On my test drive I went from Carmax to Jacobson Park, about a mile. The car died. Would not restart. I called and was placed on hold for a long time. During my delay, I opened the hood and messed with the wiring and got it running. I limped back to Carmax. They promised to refund my 200 dollars. 1 to 2 days. Never received any credit. No energy for fighting over 200 bucks. See below for a canned response from Carmax that means nothing.

I've purchased 3 cars in a row from them, the latest being 2016 Chevy Volt. Stephanie Davis has been my salesperson each time. I don't ever want to switch! The whole experience is fantastic and Stephanie is wonderful to deal with!
