I took my car here for a simple front wheel bearing replacement. They quoted me 800 for a repair the dealership quoted 400 for. They called me back an hour later to try to justify their price further by saying it was actually both front wheel bearings (which they should have known in the first phone call if it was true). The dealership did the repair for 268 and confirmed that it was mostly definitely not both wheel bearings. Clearly a scam to try to justify outrageous prices.

Took my car there because the windshield wiper motor stopped working. I told them periodically would stop the past few weeks then completely stopped so needs replacement. They then proceeded to charge me $164 to diagnose what I told them was wrong. (checked the fuse). Then they charged me $443 to replace with a Dorman motor and linkage that sells for 158 on Amazon and Walmart. "I have to make a profit" was his rationale and then charged another $164 to install. Total bill $771 to install an easy replacement. I have nothing against the mechanics they're fine but management is charging ridiculous prices. Can't recommend this place. For those who wonder about what happens when you respond to management:I sent email as requested they asked for invoice which I sent them and was told forwarded to senior management for investigation. After hearing nothing for a month I emailed them again and was told senior management would reach out today or tomorrow. Two weeks later after still no response sent another email this time was called in the afternoon. Low and behold it was the same person i originally spoke to at the shop with their 250% markup justification of "I have to make a profit". His argument now was I approved the bill. I told him that there was several things done that visit and an engine mount was replaced and I was quoted the entire amount and when I got the bill could see the itemized absurd price for the windshield wipers etc then. His rebuttal was I should have asked for an itemized bill before approving. Who does that? I just told him I guess if I came there with a broken headlight you would charge me $164 to diagnosed that and probably also markup the light 250% as well and then charge another $164 for labor.

WOMEN DRIVERS GO ELSEWHERE MONEY GRABBERS & PART CHANGERSIf I could give this place 0 stars I would. The men that work here do not respect women, especially the general manager, Joshua Lamb. These so called mechanics are part changers and are trying to get into your pockets to make a couple dollars. I had my 2015 Nissan brought here when it would not start even after replacing the battery. Immediately I was met with remarks about the problem being my alternator. After 1 day with the car sure enough they came back and said my alternator was not charging . I mistakenly let them change the alternator. A week later the car breaks down the same way, this time in the middle of the road. I took it back here as the alternator would be under warranty if they replaced it with a bad one. Sure enough, the next day I receive a call to say the alternator had an issue and they went ahead and replaced it. Another week later the car breaks down in the middle of the road doing the exact same thing again!! I was then met with the mass air flow sensor would need to be changed. This part had been changed within 2 years and had been the reason for the engine light being on for the year straight prior to this, so I know that was not the issue. However the car never had any other issues before when other computers would say the mass air flow sensor needed to be replaced. The AAA tow trucks drivers were also saying that was not the issue. At this point, I am telling these people what to look at on my vehicle. That should have been a red flag After being told it would be $500 to replace the mass air flow sensor because of labor when I was able to replace it 2 years ago in a damn parking lot. These mechanics could not fix my car and I was told to have it taken to the Nissan dealership, so I called AAA roadside to tow it because of course the car doesn t drive. My family has been AAA Gold members for over 20 years and have rarely ever actually needed these services, but 4 times in the last 4 weeks were needed this time. However, when the tow truck driver got there I was told it would be $95 in CASH to have the car towed. As a young college women who could have easily been alone, this is very off putting. The general manager, Joshua Lamb, then informed me that if my car was on the other side of the curb it would be free to tow. Joshua then proceeded to tell me he would not help me figure out how to get cash because let s face it it s 2024 . who carries almost $100 in cash??? Again, a young college women So had the tow truck driver not had any other calls I would have been left stranded. Again . A young college women As I was walking out of the door after receiving no help from Joshua he proceeds to make a very misogynistic comment saying something along the lines of The cam and crank shaft positioning sensors were a really good guess for you, huh? Certainly insinuating I was a female who shouldn t know about cars. On top of this, the first time my car was brought here on January 4th to get the first alternator I received a condition report. When I showed Joshua the condition report actually had a check mark next to the alternator stating that it was actually fine the whole time he could not give any kind of explaination and I was told he couldn t do anything about that since it was from a few weeks prior. My car is now at Nissan who is saying I never needed the first alternator which the AAA condition report backs, so I was scammed out of over $1,000. Joshua Lamb does not believe women should know anything about cars and will make sure to let you know. Absolutely awful experience and I will never be back. AAA will also be losing a member of over 20 years. Go literally anywhere else in Lexington.

This place is absolutely awful and incompetent. Do yourself a favor and find another garage. I would never have gone to this place had it not been a AAA tow. My daughters car had an overheating issue in Lexington and they towed it there. Spent over $900 on a radiator and the two hoses and an oil change. Ask them if they should change the thermostat out as well while they had the hoses off they approve the changes and they keep coming back with more excuses that now we think it s something else they can t make up their mind what the problem is in the meantime, my daughters without a car and I m out well over a grand for this, including the toe. Nobody seems to have a straight answer for me. This place is totally incompetent said no it ll be fine. Daughter pics of car on Tuesday doesn t drive it on Wednesday gets out on Thursday and it immediately overheats on her period has the tow the car all the way back to Lexington to the job for them to look over what they had done. They miraculously said oh it must be the thermostat and the heater control. I authorize the changes and now they keep coming back to me with additional things that they think it might be. Alton flight the bill. These guys are incompetent and cannot diagnose a problem to save your life. As it stands right now I am more than likely taking them to court.

My car was towed there on a Wed evening. Keys put in lock box and I removed visible personal items from front & back seats. Car was inspected on Mon then towed to dealer as they couldn't fix. I just got my car back and the center console had been gone thru- items left out on seat & in cup holder. 1 gift card and change were stolen. Dealer says they have cameras and they didn't open the console. AAA didn't return my call. Beware of leaving your car.UPDATE: I contacted them as asked, provided information and was told they would get back to me. They didn't. I tried to follow-up and got no response.Tried again with AAA and the shop to get Resolution on this (after they stopped returning my calls). Spoke to Josh, who said "assure you none of my guys would do that". I said Clearly, someone with keys tossed my car and stole a gift card. So he hung up on me.

My car had been sitting for a while, and I had my car towed here. As a young woman with literally no knowledge about cars, or how to describe sounds I did not feel belittled as I normally do other shops. The customer service was amazing. They were all very friendly and they fixed my car very quickly! Thank you AAA tire & auto for fixing my car, and being so great! I will definitely be returning!

Do not! I repeat do not ever take your vehicle here. This place will scam you. We had to take our van in three times over an 8 month period to get brakes replaced. The first time they fixed them they went bad again after 2 months and then had the audacity to tell me it was the drivers fault. They fixed it again at no charge and again two months later they were bad again. The third time we told them they need to make this right. After the third time of them not being completely repaired we gave up and had to take it elsewhere. The car shop that fixed it properly for us cost less and told us that the other mechanic put the cheapest parts on it and the it cost us more for that than at the place that did it properly. Aaa contacted us to ask about our service and we sent in the invoices to show how they messed up royally and they have not reached back out. Back when it used to be auto tech services this place was top notch, it s so sad they had to be bought out by a money hungry company that doesn t care about their customers. So again please don t waste your time and money here.

I had been taking my vehicles to Auto Tech for years, and continued to patronize them when they moved to North Broadway and then when they were purchased by AAA because I trusted Kelly and the other employees, including the mechanics. The work performed was quality, needed work at a fair price. I asked where Kelly was and was told she and the other employees had all left one day and did not come back. I knew for that to have occurred, something negative must have happened. After leaving yesterday, I discovered they had been informed that they would all need to begin staying an extra hour each work day (until 6pm) for no extra pay, and that the bonuses they had all been promised from AAA would not be paid. I cannot patronize a company that treats excellent employees in this manner, so I will be taking my business elsewhere.

After hitting a pothole, I needed my tire repaired. The guys here were great in helping me. They helped me look up my coverage and explained the pricing to me. As a young woman, I felt safe and comfortable here. The service was very quick!

Be careful reading the reviews as most reflect Auto Tech Service, not AAA Tire & Auto Service. Service and customer support has negatively changed based on our experience. We ve had continual issues spanning 8 months regarding a service they performed on one of our vehicles. I cannot recommend them outside of a routine oil change.

OUTSTANDING SERVICEOur old car broke down late in the day, about half-way through a 20 hour drive from Canada to Florida. AAA came out to the car, established that the problem was more serious than they could fix on the spot, and towed the car to AAA Tire and Auto Service in Lexington, KY, after the business had closed for the day. We were worried sick about when we could resume our trip.AAA Tire and Auto Service called us as soon as they reopened in the morning, saying that he would get right on to the car, and would call us as soon as he had figured out the actual problem with the car. He called us back a few minutes later to tell us what part had broken, exactly what it could cost to fix, and to get our permission to do it. We happily agreed, and he said that he would get the car back on the road as soon as possible, and gave us an approximate time for completion. As soon as he received the new part (an alternator), he installed it, then called us to say it was ready.Absolutely excellent and fast service. Great clarity and consideration on the part of the mechanic in talking to us. We received the best possible service, and we are tremendously grateful to AAA Tire and Auto Service. Thank you very much to them!!! We would highly recommend AAA Tire and Auto Service to everyone!!!

EDIT: so when I went in to pay for the repairs, they tried to charge me a higher amount than I was quoted. I get out to my car and there is mold and my back floorboards are soaked. Awful. Two days late getting started even looking at my vehicle, and not even a call.. I hope their mechanics are better than whoever is in managing them.

Brought in my car after it puked all of the coolant all over the interstate. Thought it would be an easy fix. Nope. Turned out it was a blown head gasket! They were very forthcoming with the fact that it would be a very costly repair. They even suggested a couple shops that would be able to replace the engine. Fast forward over the weekend. I found a vehicle that had been sitting for two years outside. Brought it in and they gave it a thorough inspection (with pics)and a fair price for the work that needed to be done. I ve found my shop and will recommend that everyone take their car there!!!

The friendliest and most professional auto repair shop I've ever been to. I went there because I needed custom brake lines since the Subaru dealer no longer could get parts for my ancient car. Auto Tech Service was directly recommended by the dealer, and they accepted my towed car without me present and they gave me a fair price for the repair. It quite honestly was more than the car was worth, so I declined the service, but they were willing to let me have a salvage yard pick up my car from their lot and they even notarized my signature on the title! Not bad, considering I declined their service.I know I am taking my next car here for service.

On 09/03/2020 my check engine light came on while driving to work. I scheduled an appointment for Friday morning the day before labor day weekend. Auto Tech Services went out of their way to get the repair done that day (and it was a major repair). Getting the job done that day saved me hundreds of dollars in rental car fees as they were going to be closed until that following Tuesday due to the holiday. And the repair was done right the first time. Great Service. Great People. I definitely recommend Auto Tech Service.Service: Engine repair

I would highly reccomend Auto Tech Service 100%. They were excellentin their service from the time I got there to the time I left. They found a safety issue with my newly bought vehicle and I was very appreciative. I returned my vehicle to the dealer and my money was refunded. I will travel an hour to get my new vehicle serviced there, when I purchase another one. I appreciate their honesty and the extra time they took taking pictures and documenting the issue. They were great!

Being new to town, we were not sure where to take our daughter s car when it died. After reading reviews, we decided to have it towed to Auto Tech Services. Well, they have most certainly earned their excellent ratings! We found them to be honest and fair. The communication throughout the diagnostics process was excellent. It turned out to be a minor issue thankfully! We are happy the car is fixed and happy we have found a garage we can trust in Lexington!

Came in with charging issues and left with a new battery and still had charging issues. Very fast turnaround on battery testing and replacement, however.Update:The owner called me and said that my review is unfair, needed to grow up, delete it, and that he was going to contact his attorney. The full story of my truck issues and auto tech experience. I went mudding and fried the alternator of my truck. Towed it home and spent all Labor Day changing the alternator. At the end of the day, the battery had 11.2 volts at idle, so I gave up and had AAA tow it to the nearest repair shop: auto tech. Auto tech called the next day and they recommended that I change out my 5 year battery and do further testing on the charging system. On my way back home from picking it up, the battery voltage gauge was looking really low so I went ahead and drove to AutoZone. They did a test on my battery and their meter said voltage was too low to test alternator 12.4V. So we revved up the engine and the test returned bad diodes. I bought a new alternator and installed it at home 13.7V. I left Autotech a two star review because they missed diagnosed my charging issue but I didn t mind to pay $200 for them to change out my battery.

They only had one tire the size we needed that costed more than we were willing to pay for one tire that's partially why I took off a star and I just don't give 5 alot. But I have to say Alex at the front desk was nice and friendly and a big help. He called around to shops to see if there were tires that was more affordable and the size we needed. He found a place for us to go and triple A was able to put the tire on free of charge thanks alot we appreciate the service especially since we were traveling out of town.

Wonderful shop, very kind people. Auto Tech came to my rescue. I was traveling alone, my brake lines broke open from being old and rusty. I was lucky to have AAA recommend this shop. I arrived there with the tow truck. They diagnosed the problem, then drove me to my hotel and picked me up the next day to wait for repair. Unheard of! Then, to top this kindness off, the desk manager brought me lunch and refused payment! The repairs were very extensive, and priced very reasonably. Outstanding auto service and customer care!

They are wonderful!!!! We where on a trip and our brake lines blew out and they were able to get us in the next morning fix our car for a reasonable price. Then offered to drive us to the store to wait and pick us up when it was done so we don t have to spend anymore money than needed. They were so nice and helpful and got us back on the road within two hours!! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a reliable and honest automotive repair shop!

To start off: I m not a car person. My knowledge is pretty limited when it comes to the internal mechanisms of a vehicle. This can be worrisome for someone who is looking to get their car serviced. You don t want service providers to profiteer off of your lack of knowledge. The workers at Auto Tech Service were incredibly kind, patient with my questions, and thorough with their work and explanations. It was a very transparent process as a whole. They got my A/C back up and running quickly. Excellent work and even better people!

I spent many years looking for a good mechanic after I moved to Lexington. I found Auto Tech after numerous other providers over-charged me and caused additional problem to my car. Auto Tech has always been honest and fair with me on everything. They are prompt in their responses, open in their communication, consistent on their pricing and a real pleasure to work with. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEIR SERVICES TO EVERYONE!

Finding a reliable repair shop and having to spend extended time in waiting rooms are not my favorite things to do. Imagine my surprise when I walked into Auto Tech on my lunch hour hoping to make an appointment to have a wheel bearing replaced, only to be asked if I could leave my car for the afternoon. So soon? Granted, customer volume can ebb and flow on any day but that was a pleasant surprise. Not only that, I was given a ride back to work a short distance away. It wasn't long before I was called with confirmation of the needed repair, the cost and the time to complete the repair. My car was finished around 3:30. Quick and painless. And the peace of mind that this is also a AAA approved shop.

I cannot say enough good things about ATS! I heard about them on WVLK and knew my 2010 vehicle would be needing some maintenance in the future. So I scheduled an appointment to have the whole thing looked over. They had it about an hour and a half and then presented all the findings to me WITH PICTURES! Their findings were on par with what I had suspected and their fees were very good compared to the local dealership. I was not pressured to use their parts or to get everything done at once.I decided to schedule to have the wheel bearing replaced and they did it in a couple of hours. However, I was still experiencing the noise I did before they fixed it. I called them up and told them about it. They told me to bring it in and ended up replacing the other wheel bearing at no charge because they were unsure if it was their missing the correct bearing or what. SAY WHAT!?!?!?! That is amazing!I will definitely be using this company for all of my mechanical needs for my vehicles. Trustworthiness like that is unheard of in this industry! YOU GOT TO GIVE ATS A TRY!!!

I usually take care of the small stuff (oil changes, overall tune up, radiator flushing, etc.) on my own, but I have had multiple vehicles in their shop due to some larger issues (e.g. head gasket, speed sensor, timing chain, valve work, etc). Even though the news is not always what I hope to hear, the staff at Auto Tech will shoot it to you straight. Tony is absolutely one of the best and is passionate about his work. He has taken pictures showing me the various issues with my vehicles (how many mechanics will actually show you the problems?) Also, Kelly is the front office manager/supervisor and even though she is not the one working on the vehicles, she knows her stuff. It is evident by her vehicle knowledge, that she has been in this business for some time. Together, Kelly and Tony make a great management team that will make sure your vehicle is repaired correctly and according to the manufacturer's specifications. Not very often do you find a business, especially a car repair facility, that is up front and honest like this one is. Bottom line, if I don't know how to fix it, I do not hesitate to bring to Auto Tech. They may not be able to fix it on the spot and have you out the door within an hour but that is a testament to their work, they make sure it is done right. So, if you want an assembly line "get them in and get them out" type of place that doesn't particularly care if your car is repaired properly, then don't go here. Only go here if you care about your vehicle being repaired the way it should be and at a decent price point. So, whether you are a "shade-tree" mechanic or someone who doesn't know a thing about vehicles, Tony and Kelly will make sure your vehicle is taken care of. Just to be clear ~ This is not a review of their services from a one-time visit. I have had multiple older and newer model vehicles repaired here over the past six months or more. Repairs ranging from the fairly straight forward to more complex engine repairs and the outcome has always been the same - honest, quality, courteous and cost conscious service each time.

Very kind and genuine staff that wants to help you out! Refreshing to find an auto shop that isn't trying to oversell you. I went to get my brakes looked at and they ended up finding a much larger issue that made my current repairs useless. Rather than taking my money for the brake repairs (as most shops would) they told me upfront that it would be a waste of time & money. I greatly appreciated the honesty and genuine care for my car AND wallet!! I will be back.
