Had a small problem with a door latching and they fixed it with ease. Even in the snowy weather. Thank you so much!

Dunno about y'alls, but my experience was great - I actually sought Jim out in Nicholasville and was saddened he wasn't there - it was my dumb/good luck to find him in Danville. I would trust him with any axle, transmission, or thing I need rolling! He didn't know he beat other estimates and he didn't know I was seeking him til after the job was done - he knew the mechanics of it well and I am pleased with service!

Another mechanic told us that the transmission was going out on our car. Took to AAMCO and the gentleman said our transmission was working fine, but recommended we change the spark plugs. My husband replaced them tonight and the car is working flawlessly. They were honest and straightforward, I would definitely recommend them to anyone. We really thought our car was toast and it ended up only being about a $40 repair. So happy with the way it all turned out! Thank you AAMCO!

Was having trouble with my Jeep shifting took my vehicle in and they diagnosed the problem within minutes been there a couple times always treated my friend's great and it extremely well with women and not screwing them over with issues on their cars and helping walk them through it like decent human beings. I literally drove through two counties to get to them because of the respect and passion they put into their customers and making things right and diagnosing vehicles properly and saving people thousands of dollars. I respect the group of guys that are up there as do every one of my friends my grandmother and anybody else that has been up there with them they are extremely trustworthy and some of the most down-to-earth people you will ever meet.

This place is a disgrace customer service was iffy there was no communication went to have a engine put in when we finally get our car back the shifter came undone I m guessing we weren t suppose to find that. I believe this place is ripping people off especially people that have warranty s this makes the second car we had to take to them and tore up after it was suppose to be fix. AAMCO is a major laugh if you value your car and to keep it after you get work done find another place to go to!Service: Auto engine diagnostic

Took my daughters VW beetle to this place to have transmission rebuilt. Jim called said it was ready so I got there and went to drive it and the glove box handle was broken off laying in the floor with grease smudged on the glove box. Jim told me he didn t know how that happened but he would take care of it. I have been patient with this Danville location and with Jim the owner for almost a year and still have not gotten a glove box for her car yet. Not one phone call or anything from them. I use to call about once a month to check and kept getting the run around about how he ordered one but wrong color. He says he has one coming but never has he called and said come and get it. Anyone that doesn t do what they say they will do I don t trust them anymore and would not take anything back to him! After submitting a review that is above what I m writing now Jim got in touch with me and explained what s going on with the glove box so if he holds truth to his word I will come back and give a better review.

Well they did a decent job on switching my transmission for a new one. However I had them put a new steering rack and pump also and it was less than impressive. Still whining. Not to mention after getting my car back it now has a coolant leak, which it didn't have before, and the ac is having issues that it didn't have before. I'm not totally satisfied with my experience with them and don't think i would recommend them .Services: Transmission, Steering & suspension repair

Thought my transmission was bad but it was a motor mount. Also told them to go over the whole vehicle to see if it needed any other repairs. They found nothing and they could of taken advantage of that but didn t. I have used them often after that and I m always satisfied. Will go no where else.

For clarity the following was originally posted as a review for the Richmond AAMCO, but my car started at the Danville location. As my vehicle as been at both locations, that are owned by the same individual, I feel the review is also warranted for this location. Also, this shop is listed under the wrong address/town.The owner of this shop told me, after having my car for seven months, that he does not advertise, as word of mouth keeps his business going. This is how word of mouth works, Mr. Bray: People have a good, bad or mediocre experience from a particular business, they tell their friends, family, and acquaintances, and then those people tell their friends, family and acquaintances. Just now they do it with Google, Yelp and other social media platforms. (SIDE NOTE: Mr. Bray has left positive reviews for his own AAMCO locations under the guise of a patron.) The recent onslaught of reviews would likely fall under the category of word of mouth, which turns out to be a two way street.Mr. Bray also challenged me to a physical altercation not once, but twice on the morning of November 1st, 2018. He became irritated when questioned about an inconsistency about the status of my vehicle. The manager of the Richmond shop said Mr. Bray was running errands and wouldn't be in for a bit. Same employee said that Mr. Bray was actually out driving the car once he was notified of what vehicle we were calling about. Which is fine by me, I appreciate this shop finally test driving it before trying to give it back to me with it not working properly for a third time. Minutes later when Mr. Bray was reached via his cellphone, he said the car was at the shop, that the part had come in this very morning and that it would be installed and programmed at their shop. When informed that his employee had said he was driving the car, the subject was changed and Mr. Bray seemed agitated at our agitation. He then asked if I wanted my car fixed, taking a demeaning, hateful tone. I replied, in the heat of the moment, that "I wanted the car fixed in (expletive) April (2018)". This was when he made his first suggestion that I come see him face to face. The second challenge came after I apologized for hurting his feelings with an 'f-bomb', as he called it.Mr. Bray then told me that he was not going to "get into a war of words" with me after I questioned his story on the status of the part for my car that has been "coming tomorrow" for the last month. That was what happened this morning, this escapade started seven months ago. Mr. Bray finally apologized for the whole situation after I informed him that he had not shown the least bit of remorse or empathy. He was supposed to contact me this afternoon, as was his corporate consumer affairs director. Neither has made good on their word. This happens every time I communicate with any one in the organization. Mr. Bray acknowledges no culpability in the matter and continually blames it on the problems of the Danville AAMCO location, which he also runs.I wanted to hold off on leaving a review until I had gotten my car back, but I wanted to be sure and define 'word of mouth' and maybe warn folks of the risk they might be taking at the Danville, Frankfort, and Richmond AAMCO locations. Also, I really have no idea IF I'll ever get my car back, so I'll strike while the iron is hot.

So... The name "Total Car Care" is a bit misleading. Asked them if they worked on head gaskets and the gentleman told me that they mainly focus on transmissions and said that they were fairly limited. May be a good transmission place (not sure) but they certainly need to take the "Total Car care" out of their name.

The new manager is a great guy. He knows so much and can help you out with your vehicle, he can explain what's wrong and give you great knowledge on what is and could be wrong with your vehicle. I highly recommend this place.
