DISSAPOINTING. 2 years ago, brake system caput on van, added oil draining right back out. So after a lot of research trying to find what I hoped would become regular mechanic in this area to use, had it towed to Certified. Unfortunately not a simple hose issue but the whole brake line needed replacing. On top of that they added a ton of other costs for calipers, rotors, brakes etc. Said I definately needed all to safely drive. They questioned whether I would want put that much money back into it. Then it seemed like they didn't even want to work on it. On recommendation of one of tow truck drivers then had it towed to Coric Auto. Brake line replacement good deal cheaper, they told me did not need the calipers etc. Maybe cost third of what had been told would need to spend on it at Certified. Coric seemed to feel that as engine still good and solid, worth repairing and not ready for the metal heap yet. So 2 years later, just now finally having to replace the rotors and pads on front, calipers still ok. Van not a daily driver, but has done what I needed it to for camping, paddling and towing just fine these past 2 years with no other issues. Glad I got the second opinion on it and found a mechanic I can trust, although clear across town. My dismissive dealings at Certified had been with the younger Stephen.Service: Brakes

It is not often that you find an auto repair shop that is worthy of trust, but Certified has earned mine. Steve and Steven have taken very good care of our vehicles. They always provide an upfront fair estimate of the work that is needed and will also tell you if that work can wait or if it needs immediate attention due to safety.Thank you for providing excellent service!

Quick and friendly staff. Was in and out for oil change and tire rotation in under an hour. Great customer service as well!

I took my Vehicle in for an Transmission fluid exchanged issue that was dismissed by another mechanic.(Steve & Steven ) was straight forward on cost and quality of the parts that he used. There s nothing more important than honesty and integrity in the auto service industry and Steve owned it. Instead of writing my car off because it was too old to fix (2005 Honda Civic) he was understanding of the value of keeping an older car working. It was a pleasure doing business and getting to know him! He would also make an excellent podcast on the history of Oldham county.

My son noticed his brakes were making weird noises. He had it looked at by a local shop and was told he needed new brakes, rotors and such. The whole braking system needed replacing and would cost over $1000 dollars! I told him to take the car to certified. He tells me that Certified says that the brakes are just fine and there arent any parts that need replacing. Apparently some rust from a pan or something was causing the squeak when braking. It was an easy fix so certified charged us nothing. How many mechanics are that honest? Not many.

Don't trust the owner Steve! My Jetta had transmission problems, so I contacted Certified to get an estimate. Was told that they would have to drop the transmission to give an estimate, so I had my car towed there. After that I was told that it needed a new or rebuilt transmission around $5000. Not being in my budget, I asked them if I could look for a used one and have them install it. This part is nearly impossible to find, but I had regular contact with Paul (who was very nice and understanding) and there was no indication from him that there was an issue. Then, out of the blue, I received a certified letter stating that I would be charged a $25/day storage fee. I called to resolve this issue, but I was told that Steve, the owner, was too busy to return my call. After calling again the next day with no response, I went there to talk to Steve, but he was still too "busy" to talk to me. I got the bill which included charges for diagnosing a coolant leak, which I did not authorize. There reason for the storage fee was that there was a sign in their shop, which I had never been to, stating that storage fees would accrue 3 days after work was completed, which it had not been. With numerous phone exchanges, why was I never notified of this policy or asked to get my car(Which I would gladly have done)? It was totally unprofessional for Steve, the owner, to be too "busy" to speak with me and to put his employees in charge of dealing with a difficult situation caused by his poor business decisions.Avoid Certified Transmission at all cost!!!

I have been a customer at Certified for a while now. I ve had several different issues with my car and they have all been taken care of! These were minor issues and some were general maintenance. The work these guys did was great , fast and of course they all were very friendly and explained everything to me! They even went above and beyond on a couple of things. You can trust Steve and his crew to take care of whatever the problem in a courteous and affordable manner!

This is an honest, upfront establishment that took good care of my truck. Another mainstream auto place was lying to me and was going overcharge a grand for services that weren't even needed (also wouldnt have fixed the problem as it turns out) but I went here for a second opinion, they showed me everything that was wrong, got an estimate a day or so later, and had my truck fixed over the weekend. It felt personal, the owner talked with us and listened, just an overall great experience.

I have taken my work vehicle in for repairs several times. Because of my on call job and the requirements of traveling nationwide, it is extremely important to me to have a repair shop that is both friendly and adequately staffed. Steve has on every occasion accommodated my every need quickly and professionally. Although I know he has other customers, I have ALWAYS felt like I was a priority. I am 100% sold and will always be a return customer. Many years ago it was a transmission issue, in and out in 1 day. A few months ago, it was a cv axel / wheel barring and again, in and out in 1 day, yesterday it was a harmonic balancer that shut me down. And again, I was in and out in 1 day. This time there was a part problem, after 2 re-orders Steve actually had to go to the dealer to get the correct part. A 40 mile trip just to get me out the door. He didn't wait for the next part delivery. And although he said "eventually he would fail me" I honestly find that hard to believe. The mechanics in the shop are friendly, courteous, respectful of your vehicle and do a wonderful job! I absolutely recomend taking your vehicle to this establishment for all your car care needs! Thank you guys for another fantastic job, you are truly a customer based business!

My car broke down on I-71 during a road trip to Nashville. Got it towed here, the nearest transmission shop. It was a Friday near closing time. The owner, Steve, came out and personally did a quick couple of troubleshooting techniques to validate it was an internal transmission component. Although I had to get a rental car to complete my weekend trip, it was nice to not spend the weekend unaware of what had failed. I got a quote early the next week that was more than the car was worth. Getting a junkyard company to come take the car from the auto shop was easy enough. Bad situation as a whole, but working with this shop was at least a blessing! Trustworthy team.

Since moving to Crestwood in 2005, I have taken all my vehicles, domestic and foreign, to Steve for service. Never once have I felt that I had received a substandard level of repair or warranty work. People seem to forget that as your car gets older with more miles, you can't bring it in for work with rust and bailing wire holding it together and not have Steve's mechanics recommend getting the laundry list of stuff fixed. If you drive an older car, it needs more maintenance. Not sure why that is so difficult to understand for some folks.

Got estimate to replace rear leaking brake line $850. Said they would end up replacing wheel cylinder along with all new lines on rear. Brakeway did repairs I wanted new brake lines on rear for $300. Just pays to shop around

Called this shop to get an estimate for service, I knew exactly what part needed to be replaced but simply didn't want to do the work myself. I specified what needed to be replaced to them when I called. The man I spoke with refused to give me a quote and insisted that I bring the car to them for inspection before they could tell me the cost. Not sure what kind of poor operation these people run where if I specify "How much to replace X part on this year, make, and model car?" requires them to do an inspection.Would not trust a place like this with my car, I am mechanically savvy and just wanted to save myself the time of doing it myself. Will be telling my friends to avoid this shop if they ever need any work done on their cars in the future.

Estimate for car repairs $ 868.00 final bill $ 910.00 plus $ 135.00 for used valve cover and $ 35.00 for new o"rings for valve cover solenoid"s.not counting my time to find valve cover and correct seals for his mechanic. The valve cover was not part of the original estimate because it was not damaged or leaking until they removed it .His explanation the magnesium / aluminum valve cover was (ROTTEN NOT CORRODED , NOT RUSTY or SOFT ) but only in one spot where unit was bolted down.I paid the shop bill , plus the additional $ 200.00 for damaged parts.NOT HAPPY???
