Best mechanic in Bowling Green. Clifton not only worked me in because I requested a quick easy service. When I was talking to him I told him about a issue I had been having with my driver side front wheel that the dealership could not figure out. Clifton diagnosed the issue within an hour and my car is riding better than it ever has! Very honest and knowledgeable mechanic which is next to impossible to find these days. Will definitely go back and highly recommend Tried and True.

The engine went out on my son's Scion. They replaced it for me quickly and professionally. The owner is great guy and I would trust them to fix my personal car. If you need repairs take it there.

Clifton is absolutely THE BEST MECHANIC and runs his business in my opinion as the most reasonable, reliable, respectable, knowledgeable, best priced, best work place to take your vehicle if you need someone to care for it. I ve been to a few in BG and I will go nowhere else but Tried n True from now on! In a dark time, they understood, and gave me honest and very reasonable prices. He showed me the issues, explained every step and why it was important, worked with me on payment, and even paid the tow to come pick it up from where it broke down bc I couldn t afford it at the time AND put $10 of gas in it before I picked it up! He s gonna hafta put up with me from now on!! From 1-10, a VERY LOUD MILLION!! Recommend!!!

I had never heard of this place before I got with my wife but she had been taking her vehicles there and always loved the service! Clifton is the owner and he always does right by us and our vehicles! If he doesn t think your car needs something he ll tell you that you shouldn t spend the extra money to get it done! If he works on your car or truck and something isn t right after you pay him, he ll make it right by any means necessary! I would recommend this place to anyone!

My wife and I were heading to Alabama on vacation and we had a heater hose bust. They were quick to get the part in when most places said they could not get that day. Along with that, the owner dropped us off downtown so we wouldn t have to just sit around and wait. When done he even came and picked us up and double checked everything before we went on our way. You won t find any nicer folks around.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Clifton took incredible care of our family, with my daughter's car problem up at WKU University and the rest of us in Tennessee. I wish his shop was down here in Hendersonville. Good honest car maintenance places are hard to find - especially with the level of customer service this place has. No upsells, really easy fix, and he probably lost money on this job. I can't say enough. A+ and fantastic ethics - and understanding of how to do it right.

All right, readers, lend your attention here. Many moons ago, my girlfriend (now wife) and I were young, naive college students in Bowling Green, trying to balance the school/work/car problem trifecta that so many others can relate to. Our original mechanic had closed up shop and had recommended Clifton as a new mechanic.My father and I had just purchased a 2006 Dodge Dakota from New York when I brought it down to Kentucky and immediately noted steering problems. I rolled up to Clifton's shop and described the issue, he opened the hood, and showed me metal shavings coming from the power steering. Told me it was a rack and pinion going out. Closed the hood, gave me a quote, and went on about his day. We ended up getting it replaced at the local Dodge dealership [NY dealership paid for repair], but we were blown away by the knowledge and professionalism, especially when any other mechanic could have easily taken advantage.That was almost 12 years ago. We have had brakes, spark plugs and wires, leveling kits, wheel bearings, computer modules, exhaust repairs etc. done at Clifton's establishments during that time. We have moved to Owensboro and would drive the vehicle back to Bowling Green (if possible) for Clifton and his team to complete the work.We have since moved to Louisville and still consult with Clifton on various minor diagnostic and repair concerns. Again, if I could plan and schedule maintenance, I would have no issue driving the car to Bowling Green from Louisville just to have Clifton and his staff work on it.In his establishment, you will find qualified employees with a fully capable shop, supervised and managed by a truly honest, hard-working, incredibly knowledgeable master mechanic. I would send everyone in Clifton's direction for your automotive needs. Great family man, great people; one of those connections you make in life that you never lose.Tried and true.
