Nice people and nice drivers. The first few times I ve been here (early 2023) I had a fairly good experience. But this last time has me thinking I m not going to come back. I took my vehicle in to get a part replaced and figure out what this vibrating/grinding noise was. They charged me $700 to fix the noise. I didn t get to speak to a mechanic about what they did despite asking. But when I was driving it after picking it up, I could still hear it even worse than before. I took it back where they had it for a couple days where they determined they can t duplicate the sound. I went to pick it up and instantly heard. Right away. I thought about stopping and going back but if they missed it this time then I don t see a point in going back to them. A bit disappointed.

This place has gone downhill.Yost used to be my go-to for any car issues. They always worked with my budget and would communicate urgent repairs so that i wouldn t be left without a car. However, my last experience with them (February 2023) they worked on my car without authorization and claimed to fix the issues my vehicle was having. They would forget or claim my warranty didn t cover certain repairs and I would be forced to pay out of pocket. My last experience was so bad I was shocked. I would never recommend this business. Please get a second opinion before going to this place. I promise you you will end up with empty pockets and a vehicle full of problems. If i could give it zero stars I would. They do not keep customers top of mind at all. Also a coolant replacement shouldn t cost me $1300.

Fast, friendly and affordable. I drive out of my way to get my car needs taken care of here. I have only had great experiences here and Amar at the the front desk even shared her snack with me. Can't recommend this place enough!

Right off the bat, I was very impressed with how professional they were and how quickly they were able to get me in. Less than a day passed and they had already diagnosed the issue and called me with a quote, at which time things went downhill.The quote for front brake pads was astronomical, and they told me that was primarily due to the time they spent diagnosing. I do not think it should take any substantial amount of time to measure brake pads and was very upset at this point, so I sent an email to them expressing my issue with paying $420 for 2 brake pads, which they never replied to.However, when I went in to pay the bill and pick up my car, they had waived the $140 "diagnostic" and I ended up paying a reasonable price for this job . My car is older and needs more work, and Yost earned themselves a repeat customer by taking care of me and charging me a price that didn't make me sick to my stomach.Service: Auto brake replacement

I brought my car in for an oil change and a new tire and they fixed it up within the morning and didn t overcharge me. They gave me a lift to and from my dorm while it was getting fixed up. Super accommodating, friendly, and helpful. Will go there again when I need to.

Finding a mechanic shop you can trust is a difficult thing. They are in the business of making money and keeping cars on the road. As vehicles age, there are a lot of things that could be done, and then there are things that HAVE to be done. I feel like the guys at Yost do a good job of walking that line and explaining the difference. I have had zero complaints or issues of repairs actually completed.I only have two minor complaints. 1 - I paid for a diagnostic fee. They did the work and that fee is very fair. I did follow that up with $1200 worth of maintenance. It would have been nice if they credited my diagnostic fee towards the repair. 2 - They billed me for 6 hours worth of work, and they were done in less than four hours. This is from when I dropped it off, to when they called me - so the actual repairs probably took less time than that. I understand every job as a "book" rate and some jobs go over and some go under. However, at $110 per hour and Yost having no problem getting customers through, it feels like the jobs that go under "book" should go back to the customer. No sandbagging either guys! ;-)Bottom line - next time my vehicle break, I'm going back to Yost first.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto maintenance

I have gone to Yost for after 30 years. They have never disappointed. I have entrusted them with my 2003 Honda S2000 and recommended my son to take his Lexus when another place in town did not do a complete job. Yost was clear to him what needed to be done and he was able to chose what he could do now and what had to wait. And they work with us all to get us a car to drive if our repairs are longer than a day.Services: Air & cabin filter replacement, Transmission replacement, A/C installation & repair

Amazing family ran company. Very professional I ONLY take my vehicles to Yost now my mom & brother in law has started having Yost keep maintenance and repairs/oil changes on their own personal vehicles. HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOST AUTOMOTIVE.... Would give 10 stars if that was a option!

I just bought my first car from Yost a few months ago and had a fantastic experience. They are nothing but helpful there and my family has been going to them for years with our cars. It was such great experience to be given an honest and fair price for a good car. They were upfront with me about the car's condition and took care of me when I had concerns. I trust the people at Yost and I knew that what they told me about the car I was buying was accurate, and not any kind of cover ups. I've been loving my car without issues since. Highly recommend Yost Auto Service.

Yost is a fast, friendly, and affordable auto shop in the heart of Wichita. I took my car there upon the recommendation of many and was not disappointed. They did not try to nickel and dime me, but treated me like a neighbor who need help. Soon after my first service I took my wife s van.

I have been a customer of Yost Auto for 20 years. After many disappointments using Dealer shops, a friend suggested that I try Yost. They are honest, only replace or fix what is needed on the cars or trucks that I own and their charges are reasonable. If a problem continues with the car s performance , Yost Auto will continue to find the problem until it is fixed. Unlike dealer shops, they do not automatically do work or replacement of parts unless I authorize the additional work FIRST. They have earned my business for 20 years and I ll continue to put my trust in their services.Services: Tire rotations, Auto maintenance, Oil change

Yet another check engine light came up on my 2006 toyota solara. Google the internet and it lead me to replacing 2 speed sensors. Welp, the internet failed me and it didn't correct the issue. Took the vehicle to Yost and they were able to diagnose and fix the problem within a couple hours! Turned out the wiring that connected into the sensors went bad, something I wouldn't have known. Next time, I'll go straight to Yost to save time and money!** Accidentally wrote over my previous review but Yost auto was able to address a CEL for evap codes I had. Yost is outstanding.Always helpful. Don't do work that doesn't need to be done. Fair. I recommend them to everyone. Bonus: the coffee machine is stellar if you have to wait--it's next level good.

Tried getting my radiator flushed , they ended up messing with my spark plugs and told me that my car will require a $3,000 fix ~ even though I only came for a $170 radiator flush . Once I told them to put the plugs back and not touch anything else they tried telling me the car will only start once now and never again (complete B.S). The car has no started fine each time since . They will try to get more money out of you . Don t recommend .

As always work done efficiently and quickly. Was actually my mother s Lincoln pickup. Had been worked on at a place in Western Kansas that gave her the run around after several thousand dollars. I told her to bring it here to Yost. As usual they quickly and correctly diagnosed the problem got her up and going same day. Very reliable and professional place to have repairs done on your cars and trucks.Services: Auto engine tuning, Wiper blade installation

Wonderful service! Originally, took my car to the Toyota dealership, but my experience was inconceivably horrible! So, I had heard that Yost was a pretty reliable place and took my car there. They took care of it right away, stayed in touch, were honest and upfront, and stuck with the price they originally quoted me, even though it took more labor to get the job done than anticipated. Take your car to Yost to have the work done right the first time!

We have used Yost for 15 years. They have proved themselves over & over. I can remember twice taking one of our cars in and they returned it at no charge because nothing was wrong or needed. I have been going to Yost for over 25 years and have always been very pleased with their service. i never hesitate to recommend them to friends and family and they have never let me down. They are honest and up front about all that needs to be repaired and the cost to make the repairs. We have bought 4 cars from them and will always trust them with all our automotive needs.

Yost Auto repaired my broken mirror and fog light, checked and replaced transmission, brake, a/c fluids at a very reasonable price. They were very honest and communicated with me through the process. I can't say enough good things about this business. Yost Auto has taken fabulous care of all of my family's vehicles for a few years now. Every time we walk through the shop's doors we are warmly greeted and treated like family. The owner, Mr. Russ Yost, is one of the nicest and most trustworthy guys you'll ever meet.A couple months ago, I wanted to buy my first car. My dad told me about one that was in great condition and a great price that Yost was selling. I LOVED everything about the manual-drive car, but I had never driven stick. Russ Yost drove me and my dad out to a country road and took time out of his day to teach me how to drive stick-shift. I couldn't believe how patient he was with me! He made it clear that there was no pressure to drive the car - he just wanted to be sure I was comfortable driving it before I bought it. How many other owners would do that for a customer?...Take your vehicle to Yost; it'll be one of the best decisions you ever make.:)

Best automotive service experience ever. Good customer service in the automotive service industry is difficult to come by, but Yost surpassed my expectations. I received a very fair price on my repair and much less than a competitor's bid. I received a ride back to my home and they picked me up from my residence after the repair was completed. With a young family, this service is so helpful. Henry was very polite and provided great conversations on our car rides. The front desk manager was very helpful (Jonathon?) and they even provided a demonstration with the part that was replaced. They have gained a new customer and I will spread the good word about Yost.

I have over 200,000 miles on my 2008 Ford Edge that I bought through Yost Auto Service and I attribute that to the fact that they have done all my service except Ford recalls and 1 tire repair. I endorse and recommend them highly.

The BEST, MOST honest mechanics and owner in the WORLD! Yes! THE world! In the 40 years I ve been driving, I have NEVER had such an economically reasonable, friendly & delightful service experience as I have had, getting my vehicle serviced and repaired, as I have at YOSTS! I lived in KC for 30 years and never found one respected auto repair shop! We have always driven cars hard and Yost have kept us informed as to how we could get every ounce of juice out of them in the most economical way! We value reliability and integrity when it comesto our cars!

I've taken my cars into Yost for three years now for many different issues, and I can honestly say that you won't find a more honest, trustworthy and knowledgeable repair shop anywhere else in Wichita. When I drop my car off, I have full confidence in leaving my keys and letting them go to work. I've been extremely pleased with with the level of professionalism and quality of work that they do and the service that comes with it is top notch. Best shop in town!
