I had a great experience with Donovan's and the team. I was sent there by an auto parts store for a repair question, walked in and John Donovan answered it swiftly. A few months later I knew where to take my vehicle when it needed a tune up. Great shop, full of honesty the way a repair shop should be! Thank you John and the team at Donovan's!

Very impressive shop and employees!I believe I've found my permanent auto repair shop; and that's really saying something with everything I've been through.Affordable as well.Had my 4 wheel alignment and new rear camber bolts installed here on this visit.Thank you Donovan's!

Absolutely outstanding service by automotive experts. Being from out of town I made an appointment in advance and they were able to find time to help me out, even though they were extremely busy. Straight shooters here, no games or questionable practices. They may not give you good news, but you can count on fair, accurate information from them. They charged me for one hour of labor instead of 1.3 like "the book" says, because they finished in an hour. I highly recommend this establishment for your automotive needs! If I know I will need my vehicle serviced I will try to schedule a trip here to get it done.

First time going to Donovan s. (It s only been around for nearly 87 years). Extremely professional, knowledgeable and fair (which is difficult to find in vehicle service shops from my experience). 4th generation owner/operator. I will not take my vehicle anywhere else now. They had one chance to convince me to do business with them and they succeeded. Personable and friendly. Felt like an old fashioned service station (in the best sort of ways). Thanks for the great experience. My truck is running perfectly now.John

The staff is very professional. I had my brakes and rotors replaced here. (Works great) They are great at fixing pretty much any car problems you have at a affordable price. 5 stars for me.

Been recently taking my husband and I s cars here since they give us the most reasonable quotes on service. Every time I come in it s always friendly service and they get straight to the point on what needs to be done with our vehicles, never any b.s. Made them our official mechanic now in the city. Never been more satisfied when it comes to car maintenance. Thank you all!

Personable and honest. They have had multiple opportunities to sell me something I didn t need and they have always told me what I should and shouldn t do. I know they re doing great work and being honest. I feel they prioritize the relationship, then the business which is a rare treat in business today. 100% recommend.

Beware of this towing service. My son had a small accident and they refused to release the vehicle when we went to pick it up and added $500 worth of charges for a simple tow from Metcalf i435 to their shop in Shawnee. From Saturday morning to Monday, we were charged almost $500 and were forced to pay in cash.We choose to use them after the police department called them when they arrived to the scene. We provided a tow slip that clearly stated their were no holds on the Vehicle and they purposely held the car to charge additional storage for two more days.The lady lied to us and made up some story about a city ordinance in place that would not allow us to pick up the vehicle without an notarized affidavit, which was a total lie. I looked up the city Ordinances and contacted the Overland Park police and confirmed with an officer that this was NOT true.The lady their was rude. Once again lying to my son when he arrived stating she had advised me we had to pay with Cash and it was exact amount because no change would be provided. So they refuse to take charge cards, but carry no cash to provide Change. I WAS NEVER ADVISED WE HAD TO BRING CASH AND THAT CHANGE WOULD NOT BE PROVIDED.Dishonest all around and terrible experience. Is this what you really want to deal with after having to deal with an accident that is already going to cost you money.You want an honest tow service that you can trust and feel will be helpful during an already stressful process.If you ever get into an accident, know that as long as you are not being arrested and your car is not being placed on hold by the Police, you have a choice of tow service.If you want an honest and courtesy service that doesn't use your accident as a way to take advantage, I would highly suggest that you steer clear of Donavins tow service. We have plenty more to choose from that actually help their customers instead of taking advantage of people needing help.

Love the work that Donovan s Service does for my truck. They are reliable, hardworking, and honest individuals. I recently went in for a big service. The dealership quote was a lot more expensive than what Donovan s charged for the honest work, parts, and labor. It s nice to be able to save a bit of money and receive a quality service. I know Donovan s Service stays really busy and schedules appointments a few weeks out. Definitely, worth the wait to get my service completed. Thanks!

We were sensing something was not right with the brakes. This place was recommended so we set up an appointment. It was going to be a 2 week wait but that is due to today's economic climate. That is just the way it is today. But we were asked to bring the car in the next day for a test drive so that they could get a better idea of what was wrong. Two weeks later, we had the front brakes done! They informed me of pricing before the work started and the time needed to complete. Car runs great. Thank you Donovan's!

Better than a husband! Ladies, has your husband left you for " greener pastures" ? Do you feel abandoned and alone after being replaced by a lower class model? Try Donovans auto repair shop as an A+ replacement for the old geezer. No question about it, this shop takes care of you and your car. They are excellent, they CAN BE TRUSTED and they don't complain about how you drive or what damage you did to your car. There is no argument, because they get the job done with a smile, within reasonable cost, within a great time frame and they do not ever cheat on you. I highly recommend Donovans for all your auto needs. And if they can't do it, they will offer you other solutions. Don't waste time with anyone else like I did. After a funeral, the widow's keys were locked in the car. Donovan's sent Shelton, and he got the car open. He wouldn't take any money. Thank you for your kindness on a really rough day for her!

Major brake issues that they couldn t find. I m frustrated as ever after 3 mechanics pulled a fast one on me for $5,200 and John here at Donovan s service after me asking to cancel my appointment says no problem I ll get that cancelled - I own a company and would do my best to say how can I keep your business and make this right with you but not here at Donovan s service. To respond to your below message: you are getting vans mixed up here John. Sadly you ve seen multiple vehicles of mine. I had a mechanic look at your work from your invoice and 3 items were never done. John said what do you want to get out of this - he didn t say as you mentioned what could we do for you there s a large difference. I would of insisted on helping without asking. But that s the difference in ownership. You guys treat your customers as numbers and I treat them as people. You have enough business to care if one is gone. Honored my request hilarious.

Donovan always delivers. They don't attempt to up sell unless it is necessary, and even then, the customer decides. Always my go-to.

Donovan's Service is THE place to go to get your vehicle serviced, repaired, or simply inspected if you have doubts about a new purchase. I've taken my brand new Chevrolet truck to be serviced, a family members car with a fuel issue to be repaired, and my 1997 truck to be checked over before purchased. On each occasion, Donovan's provides unequivocal feedback and prompt service. They really are the definition of a local shop that cares about their customers.On my last visit for a routine service, I sat and listened to Pat explain to a customer that a repair on a thrown code was not necessary to improve the function of his particular vehicle and then went on to explain the particulars of why the code was being thrown in the first place and potential solutions to fix the issue. What an example of customer service. Try finding that at your big dealership service departments.Do not let the negative reviews sway you from coming to Donovan's. More likely than not, the customer themselves were being rude or had an expectation that they were the only customer of the day that needed a repair. Trust Donovan's - they'll treat you like their own family.

I found Donovan's 3 years ago when I moved to Shawnee and they are hands down the best. They have the best service, the best prices, the best people. They will talk you through your options and help you with timing of what urgently needs to be taken care of or what could possibly wait to the next visit. They're honest and up front about any issues or potential issues or if there's a problem and not a known fix, they'll talk you through what can be done. The prices are even and fair. I will always 100% trust them with my car and any work that needs to be done.Plus the people there are so incredibly nice. They have helped me with bubbles on the inside of my tire, figuring out if I could go on a road trip with my brakes, and even taught me how to change my windshield wipers.Hands down 12/10 would suggest.Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Auto brake repair, Brakes, Auto maintenance, Oil change

My steering column was ripped out near their shop and even though they were booked out for weeks, they still found time to help me out and got it done for me as soon as they could!Great people, great at their job.10/10

FANTASTIC AMAZING service. I had an issue with my car after getting service in Lincoln, Nebraska. I called Donovan s and they got me in immediately and fixed the issue FAST to get me back on the road. I was treated extremely well and they went above and beyond And I am so grateful. Highly recommend!!!!!

Problem with your vehicle? Donovan s should be the first place on your list to go to. Chances are you won't need a second choice. They can fix it when the dealership cant/won't. They are the best!

My truck needed an alternator, so I had it towed there first thing in the morning. I asked if they could have it done that day since we were going into Labor Day Weekend. They didn't make any promises, but to my delight they had it ready to go before the close of business that day so I had my transportation for the weekend. They were super nice and the price was reasonable too. I would highly recommend them.Service: Electrical repair

Fantastic work and customer experience - they were quick, did an excellent job on a part other mechanics wouldn't touch, charged me half of what I expected and didn't push other repairs or replacements - will bring all my cars here for as long as they stay in business!
