We got a room here during a hectic night of closed highways due to a winter storm. It wasn't our choice, of course but worked just fine for what we needed and there were many other stranded travelers in the same situation. The staff were being ran ragged trying to help us all and they did a great job accommodating as many of us as possible. Marci at the front desk/diner was fantastic under pressure, especially considering some guests were very rude upon being turned away. Despite the chaos, Marci still ensured we had everything we needed and were properly welcomed. The combo front desk and diner is clever for a small travel hotel and was very cute. Despite not being our plan, I wish we had more time to enjoy it!

I would stay here again. The check in process could have been a little easier if there were instructions on the website or even Google maps. If checking in after hours, you ll need to go to the diner next door which is open 24/7. The gal working could have been a little more professional but she had a long day at work (haven t we all). My room was clean, yet super cold when I got in since the thermostat was set at 63F, but I was able to change it to 71F and slept comfortable all night in the firm yet soft bed. I bring my own pillow so I can t comment on their pillows but with only a sheet & light weight blanket, you might want to bring your own heavier blanket if you prefer to bundle up while you sleep. I d recommend parking as close as you can to either end of the building since there s no elevation on the premises in case you get the second floor like I did. No mentioning of any type of breakfast even when I dropped off the key when I stopped inside of the diner on my way out but it did smell delicious both times I was in there.

Never again. Check-in at a 24hr diner. No overnight manager. No breakfast. Brown ring around the toilet. Soap scum all around the tub. Checked in a 7pm and my reserved single queen was still dirty. Found staff gabbing in the breakroom. Had to pay extra for a single king I did not need. I have stayed at other Traelodges and they were fine. This one was the low of lows.

Hotel had just replaced mattresses due to bed bugs. Old mattresses left out in front of building. First room assigned had a door that wouldn t close. Second room had not been cleaned. Third room was clean and had a locking door. No room service while staying 3 nights.

Please avoid. The room was NOT clean even though the be wonderful woman at the front desk said it was because her computer said so. Lol.Can't even begin to explain the disgust from this room from dead bugs to dirty sheets ( we put our own sheets on the bed, than goodness we had then from camping)Just dirty and gross. Outdoor and indoor lights didn't work, uncomfortable beds ( not that dirty sheets weren't enough) STAY AWAY!! We would drive somewhere else had it but been in the middle of no where and taken us his to find another girl in the middle of the nightNow the people working at the diner attached to the property we're wonderful. Very friendly and helpful.

I use hotels on the average of twenty days a year. In 14 years this is the singularly most filthy room I've ever been in. I'm extremely far sighted and when I dropped something I put my glasses on to find it. I discovered dead bugs, hair, dirt and lint piled on top of each other. I'd already decided to live with the dead flies on the widow sill-it was late. I used the towels to cover the floor, slept in my clothes and made my escape after a few hours of sleep. This place was gross.

We arrived there late, it was freezing rain and we checked in at the diner and went to our room.It looked good, the beds were made and there was nothing out of place. Then we unpacked and started looking around. The fridge had drippings in it and a beer from the last guest. The microwave was not clean. The tub was filthy, the hinges on the toilet were surrounded by urine!Plus when I pulled back the covers I had a footprint on my bed sheet. So disgusting!

The Travelodge is nice and open 24/7. And all 1st floor rooms are handicap accessible. The rooms are standard but comfortable especially when your tired from a long days work. They offer a free shuttle service for railroad workers as well. They have a driver's lounge, with free movies, a coffee maker, a fridge, and a vending machine (almost everything in it is only $1.25. BONUS) The coolest amenity by far is their gym. It has loads of free weights, dumbells mainly. It also has a universal gym, some really nice stationary bikes and a connected public bathroom. The staff is also very friendly and you pickup your room keys after hours from Penny's Diner which is located about 50 feet away on the hotel grounds. Enjoy this place the next time you visit Sharon Springs, KS

It was late when I arrive as I passed through. When I was getting checked in, the lady told me that it was the last one they had for the night. She mentioned that it was a little more expensive because it was a king size bed. I didn't mind paying more, because I was tired and didn't wanna drive anymore... I think with tax, it cost me $70 something, don't remember because she never gave me a receipt. When I got in the room, I seen that it was a small bed, definitely not King size which I paid for.... Will definitely drive past next time.

First we could find a front door to check in, or a sign, turned out you had to check in in the restaurant in the front. Those guys were super nice, I was terribly sick throwing up in the bathroom, they were patient. So they were my one star. The room,.. it was dirty, the coffee pot was brown so there was no way I was going to use it. The latch on the door didnt work so all you had to do was push the door open. Its security ball was broke off so the latch for that did no good. The deadbolt would only go halfway. Like I said I was very sick so I couldn't go ask for another room, pack up and move my stuff. So we just stacked all the furniture in front of the door. Wouldn't go back if I had a choice.

Extremely clean, large room with many amenities that you would find at a much more expensive hotel. Late check-out is allowed. The hotel check-in desk is located in the diner, which is directly in front of the hotel. The diner is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I highly recommend this Travelodge! Penny's diner is a wonderful way to top off your stay! This Travelodge is a quiet gem!!!

Poor service and rooms are not that great. I stayed here because it was late and I'd been stuck in a really bad thunderstorm. They had no idea what room was clean for me to stay in. After walking in on 2 people and 1 dirty room, I finally got a room. The staff blamed each other and said they had no maid service.I do not recommend staying here.If you're in Sharon Springs, KS and you need a place to stay for the night, go to Heyl's Traveler Motel.

Even though our reservation for a two bed room ended up with one they were very accommodating with a roll away (being fully booked) and a comped night stay. Great employees. Clean room. Will not hesitate to stay again

I dont even want to put a star here. We rented 3 rooms at the sharon springs location and we had the worst experience I've ever had at a hotel, bed bugs in all 3 rooms, clumps of hair all over the shower wall, blood on the sheets and pillow cases, and on top of all that fairly fresh vomit under one of the beds. Will absolutely never ever go back to this place and would not recommend it to my worst enemy. At 85 bucks a night this was a complete trash hole

Just ok. Old florescent tubes need replaced. Bed was full size and not very comfortable. Had to make our own bed due to covid. Diner was open 24 hours with typical diner type food. Not great but not horrible.

It's terrible. My husband and I arrived at night and were trying to get settle down then we saw more than 8 small black Beatles crawling in the bathroom, on the floor and even there are some dead bettles laying around near our door. We traveled all the way from Colorado and we couldn't let ourselves sleep at night knowing beatles would crawl all over us. So We left immediately when we saw more those bettles. That waste my time and we had to find another hotel during the night.

I pained over 80 dollars for a room with no blankets. It was late and I was too tired to complain. There were 2 dead roaches in the restroom.but they don't scare me. Just need to get better at their cleanliness

Cant really say how the rooms are. Booked thro booking.com. Had our confirmation on the email. Decided to eat at Pennys first. Arrived right ahead of a huge downpour complete with hail. Service was slow but we weren't in a hurry at this point so didnt care. As we left, Mike told us not to get too wet. Told him we were headed to hotel directly behind him so no worrys. Got back there, very few outside lights. No office. No overhangs to unload luggage out of rain. Called hotel. Mike answers phone. We have to check in at the cafe! Why didnt he tell us that while we were there? Got back to cafe. Had to wait for hail to stop before getting out and going in. Finally get back in cafe to be told we're a day early. We have our confirmation for that night but he kept telling us we were a day early according to his computer. Ask for a room and we'd straighten it out in the morning. Cant give us a room. Doesnt have any. Cant cancell our reservation because his computer isnt working right! At 9pm in the pouring rain we are trying to find a hotel. Highly recommend the Heyl's across the street!

Someone booked, payed for and reserved me a room at the Wyndham Travelodge in Sharon Springs and they still wanted to put my credit card on file...So it shows a pending charge now for one night stay on my card. The staff here says it will be returned and credited back to my account after it gets processed. If I get home and it processes and the charge goes through I will never stay at a Wyndham properties again. YOU ALL BETTER GET IT RIGHT!Although it has a Penny's Diner attached which was great...

Great place after a long day on the road. Diner hit the spot for sure. Great food. Hotel was pretty much what I expected for the price. Just need to do some better vacuuming and disinfecting. Otherwise great nights sleep.

The room was extremely dirty. Dead bugs in the bathroom and disgusting shower curtain. The ice machine didn't work and when we went to the diner to fill the ice bucket up the worker filled it up maybe half way. We were also overcharged by $10.

If you arrive in Kansas and you think about booking a room with the Travel Lodge in Sharon Springs, Kansas I would highly recommend you reconsider. Drive the extra 50 miles to anywhere else. To start, when my husband and I arrived we got locked out of our first room with valuables inside. We had two cats, luckily we didn t put them in there first. The one guy running the hotel that night was trying his best to help us get inside due to the door key card machine being broken, but he didn t have the maintenance key. His boss wasn t answering. He said we had to wait until the morning to get it, needless to say I didn t get much sleep because I didn t have all my things safely with me. We were told we would get a phone call to our new room next door when they had access but we never received one. We woke up around 8:00am and went next door and the door was open with our things inside. Good thing we had gotten up when we did because there were people that had just arrived that were entering the same way we came in and that room was the first one you saw walking in the side door near the room. I had to look for my cat under the bed because she wouldn t come out and it was dark so I used my flash light and I can t even tell you how many dead BUGS I saw. I wish I had thought to take a picture to show you but I was too grossed out and it made me cringe. Room 131. Probably all of the others too. Enter if you dare.

Nasty unclean smelly took forever to even get in a room. I wouldnt even give it a 1 star if I didnt have to put something. Beds are terrible. Nothing in the rooms including toilet paper. Just a headache from start to finish!
